1
Moreover
the
LORD
said
unto
me,
Take
thee
a
great
roll,
and
write
in
it
with
a
man’s
pen
concerning
Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
2
And
I
took
unto
me
faithful
witnesses
to
record,
Uriah
the
priest,
and
Zechariah
the
son
of
Jeberechiah.
3
And
I
went
unto
the
prophetess;
and
she
conceived,
and
bare
a
son.
Then
said
the
LORD
to
me,
Call
his
name
Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
4
For
before
the
child
shall
have
knowledge
to
cry,
My
father,
and
my
mother,
the
riches
of
Damascus
and
the
spoil
of
Samaria
shall
be
taken
away
before
the
king
of
Assyria.
5
The
LORD
spake
also
unto
me
again,
saying,
6
Forasmuch
as
this
people
refuseth
the
waters
of
Shiloah
that
go
softly,
and
rejoice
in
Rezin
and
Remaliah’s
son;
7
Now
therefore,
behold,
the
Lord
bringeth
up
upon
them
the
waters
of
the
river,
strong
and
many,
even
the
king
of
Assyria,
and
all
his
glory:
and
he
shall
come
up
over
all
his
channels,
and
go
over
all
his
banks:
8
And
he
shall
pass
through
Judah;
he
shall
overflow
and
go
over,
he
shall
reach
even
to
the
neck;
and
the
stretching
out
of
his
wings
shall
fill
the
breadth
of
thy
land,
O
Immanuel.
9
Associate
yourselves,
O
ye
people,
and
ye
shall
be
broken
in
pieces;
and
give
ear,
all
ye
of
far
countries:
gird
yourselves,
and
ye
shall
be
broken
in
pieces;
gird
yourselves,
and
ye
shall
be
broken
in
pieces.
10
Take
counsel
together,
and
it
shall
come
to
nought;
speak
the
word,
and
it
shall
not
stand:
for
God
is
with
us.
11
For
the
LORD
spake
thus
to
me
with
a
strong
hand,
and
instructed
me
that
I
should
not
walk
in
the
way
of
this
people,
saying,
12
Say
ye
not,
A
confederacy,
to
all
them
to
whom
this
people
shall
say,
A
confederacy;
neither
fear
ye
their
fear,
nor
be
afraid.
13
Sanctify
the
LORD
of
hosts
himself;
and
let
him
be
your
fear,
and
let
him
be
your
dread.
14
And
he
shall
be
for
a
sanctuary;
but
for
a
stone
of
stumbling
and
for
a
rock
of
offence
to
both
the
houses
of
Israel,
for
a
gin
and
for
a
snare
to
the
inhabitants
of
Jerusalem.
15
And
many
among
them
shall
stumble,
and
fall,
and
be
broken,
and
be
snared,
and
be
taken.
16
Bind
up
the
testimony,
seal
the
law
among
my
disciples.
17
And
I
will
wait
upon
the
LORD,
that
hideth
his
face
from
the
house
of
Jacob,
and
I
will
look
for
him.
18
Behold,
I
and
the
children
whom
the
LORD
hath
given
me
are
for
signs
and
for
wonders
in
Israel
from
the
LORD
of
hosts,
which
dwelleth
in
mount
Zion.
19
And
when
they
shall
say
unto
you,
Seek
unto
them
that
have
familiar
spirits,
and
unto
wizards
that
peep,
and
that
mutter:
should
not
a
people
seek
unto
their
God?
for
the
living
to
the
dead?
20
To
the
law
and
to
the
testimony:
if
they
speak
not
according
to
this
word,
it
is
because
there
is
no
light
in
them.
21
And
they
shall
pass
through
it,
hardly
bestead
and
hungry:
and
it
shall
come
to
pass,
that
when
they
shall
be
hungry,
they
shall
fret
themselves,
and
curse
their
king
and
their
God,
and
look
upward.
22
And
they
shall
look
unto
the
earth;
and
behold
trouble
and
darkness,
dimness
of
anguish;
and
they
shall
be
driven
to
darkness.
Daniel 9:26
26
And

two
weeks
shall
Messiah
be
cut

but
not
for

and
the
people
of

the
end
thereof

Daniel 11:7
7
But

which

2 Thessalonians 2:4
4
Who
opposeth
and
exalteth
himself
above
all
that
is
called
God,
or
that
is
worshipped;
so
that
he
as
God
sitteth
in
the
temple
of
God,
shewing
himself
that
he
is
God.
Revelation 11:18
18
And
the
nations
were
angry,
and
thy
wrath
is
come,
and
the
time
of
the
dead,
that
they
should
be
judged,
and
that
thou
shouldest
give
reward
unto
thy
servants
the
prophets,
and
to
the
saints,
and
them
that
fear
thy
name,
small
and
great;
and
shouldest
destroy
them
which
destroy
the
earth.

happen
that
when
they

hungry,
they
shall
fret
themselves,
and
curse
by
their
king
and
by
their
God,
and
turn
their
faces
upward:

driven
away.

Then
you
must
recall
the
LORD's
instructions
and
the
prophetic
testimony
of
what
would
happen.
Certainly
they
say
such
things
because
their
minds
are
spiritually
darkened.
21
They
will
pass
through
the
land
destitute
and
starving.
Their
hunger
will
make
them
angry,
and
they
will
curse
their
king
and
their
God
as
they

22
When

darkness,
gloom

anxiety,
darkness
and
people
forced
from
the

The
Lord
told
me,
"Get

and
use
an

to
write
these
words:
'This

She
became
pregnant
and
had
a

The
Lord
told
me,
"Name

Maher

4
He
said
that
because
before
the

"Mama"

"Daddy,"
God
will
take
all
the

He

But
the

The
Assyrians

their

This
water
will
be
like
a

flood
as
it
passes
through
Judah.
It
will
rise
to
Judah's
throat
and
almost
drown
him.
But
he

his

your

The
Lord
spoke
to
me

warned
me
not

He
said,

"Don't

there

a
plan
against
you
just
because
the
people
say
there
is.
Don't
be
afraid
of
what
they
fear.
Don't
let
them
frighten
you!"
13
The

the
one
you
should
fear.
He
is
the
one
you
should
respect.
He
is

who
should

you.
14
If
you
people
would
respect
the
Lord,
he
would
be
a
safe
place
for
you.
But
you
don't
respect
him,
so
he
is
like
a
stone
that
you

over.
He
is
a
rock
that
makes

families
of
Israel
fall.
The
Lord
has

They

Lord
said,}

agreement.
Tie
it
up
and
seal
it
so
that
it
cannot
be

Give
these
teachings

The

I

My

for

But
I
say,
"Shouldn't
people
go
to
their
God
for
help?
Why
go
to
the
dead
to
get
help
for
the
living?"
20
You
should
follow
the
teachings
and
the
agreement.
I
swear,
if
you
follow
those
other
things,
there
is
no
future
for
you.
21
When
the
enemy

there

hungry,
he

He
will
say
curses
in
the
name
of
his
king
and
his
gods.
Then
he
will
lift
his
head
upwards
{like
a
roaring
lion}.
22
And
when
the
captives
turn
their
faces
to
the
ground,
there
is
only
a
depressing
darkness
closing
in—the
dark
sadness
of
people
forced
to
leave
their
country.
And
those
who
are
trapped
in
that
darkness
will
not
be
able
to
free
themselves.

secret

the
spirits
of
the

who
use
their

should

Should
they
speak

the
dead

the
living?
20
Tell
them
to
put
their
faith
in
the
teaching
and
the
Law.
If
they
do
not
speak
what
this
word
says,
it
is
because
they
have
no
light
in
them.
21
They
will
pass
through
the

troubled

hungry.
And
when
they
are
hungry,
they
will
be
angry
and
curse
their
king

their
God
as
they
look
up.
22
Then
they
will
look

the
earth
and
see
trouble
and
darkness
and
suffering
and
will
be
driven
out
into
darkness.
Daniel 9:26
26
After
the
sixty-two
weeks,
the
Chosen
One
will
be
killed
and
have
nothing.
And
the
people
of
the
ruler
who
is
to
come
will
destroy
the
city
and
the
holy
place.
The
end
will
come
like
a
flood.
Even
to
the
end
there
will
be
war.
For
the
Lord
has
said
that
much
will
be
destroyed.
Daniel 11:7
7
But
one
of
her
family
will
become
king
in
his
place.
He
will
fight
against
the
army
and
go
into
the
strong
city
of
the
king
of
the
North.
He
will
fight
against
them
and
win.
2 Thessalonians 2:4
4
He
works
against
and
puts
himself
above
every
kind
of
god
that
is
worshiped.
He
will
take
his
seat
in
the
house
of
God
and
say
that
he
himself
is
God.
Revelation 11:18
18
The
people
who
do
not
know
God
have
become
angry
with
You.
Now
it
is
time
for
You
to
be
angry
with
them.
It
is
time
for
the
dead
to
stand
before
You
and
to
be
judged.
It
is
time
for
the
servants
You
own
who
are
the
early
preachers
and
those
who
belong
to
You
to
get
the
reward
that
is
coming
to
them.
It
is
time
for
the
important
people
and
those
not
important
who
honor
Your
name
to
get
the
reward
that
is
coming
to
them.
It

time

destroy
those

every

on
the

1
The
Lord
told
me,
"Take
a
large
scroll
and
write
on
it
with
an
ordinary
pen:
'Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.'
2
I
will
gather
some
men
to
be
reliable
witnesses:
Uriah
the
priest
and
Zechariah
son
of
Jeberekiah."
3
Then
I
went
to
the
prophetess,
and
she
became
pregnant
and
had
a
son.
The
Lord
told
me,
"Name
the
boy
Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz,
4
because
the
king
of
Assyria
will
take
away
all
the
wealth
and
possessions
of
Damascus
and
Samaria
before
the
boy
learns
to
say
'my
father'
or
'my
mother.'"
5
Again
the
Lord
spoke
to
me,
saying,
6
"These
people
refuse
to
accept
the
slow-moving
waters
of
the
pool
of
Shiloah
and
are
terrified
of
Rezin
and
Pekah
son
of
Remaliah.
7
So
I,
the
Lord,
will
bring
the
king
of
Assyria
and
all
his
power
against
them,
like
a
powerful
flood
of
water
from
the
Euphrates
River.
The
Assyrians
will
be
like
water
rising
over
the
banks
of
the
river,
flowing
over
the
land.
8
That
water
will
flow
into
Judah
and
pass
through
it,
rising
to
Judah's
throat.
Immanuel,
this
army
will
spread
its
wings
like
a
bird
until
it
covers
your
whole
country."
9
Be
broken,
all
you
nations,
and
be
smashed
to
pieces.
Listen,
all
you
faraway
countries.
Prepare
for
battle
and
be
smashed
to
pieces!
Prepare
for
battle
and
be
smashed
to
pieces!
10
Make
your
plans
for
the
fight,
but
they
will
be
defeated.
Give
orders
to
your
armies,
but
they
will
be
useless,
because
God
is
with
us.
11
The
Lord
spoke
to
me
with
his
great
power
and
warned
me
not
to
follow
the
lead
of
the
rest
of
the
people.
He
said,
12
"People
are
saying
that
others
make
plans
against
them,
but
you
should
not
believe
them.
Don't
be
afraid
of
what
they
fear;
do
not
dread
those
things.
13
But
remember
that
the
Lord
All-Powerful
is
holy.
He
is
the
one
you
should
fear;
he
is
the
one
you
should
dread.
14
Then
he
will
be
a
place
of
safety
for
you.
But
for
the
two
families
of
Israel,
he
will
be
like
a
stone
that
causes
people
to
stumble,
like
a
rock
that
makes
them
fall.
He
will
be
like
a
trap
for
the
people
of
Jerusalem,
and
he
will
catch
them
in
his
trap.
15
Many
people
will
fall
over
this
rock.
They
will
fall
and
be
broken;
they
will
be
trapped
and
caught."
16
Make
an
agreement.
Seal
up
the
teaching

17
I
will
wait
for
the
Lord
to
help
us,
the
Lord
who
is
ashamed
of
the
family
of
Israel.
I
will
wait
for
him.
18
I
am
here,
and
with
me
are
the
children
the
Lord
has
given
me.
We
are
signs
and
proofs
for
the
people
of
Israel
from
the
Lord
All-Powerful,
who
lives
on
Mount
Zion.
19
Some
people
say,
"Ask
the
mediums
and
fortune-tellers,
who
whisper
and
mutter,
what
to
do."
But
I
tell
you
that
people
should
ask
their
God
for
help.
Why
should
people
who
are
still
alive
ask
something
from
the
dead?
20
You
should
follow
the
teachings
and
the
agreement
with
the
Lord.
The
mediums
and
fortune-tellers
do
not
speak
the
word
of
the
Lord,
so
their
words
are
worth
nothing.
21
People
will
wander
through
the
land
troubled
and
hungry.
When
they
become
hungry,
they
will
become
angry
and
will
look
up
and
curse
their
king
and
their
God.
22
They
will
look
around
them
at
their
land
and
see
only
trouble,
darkness,
and
awful
gloom.
And
they
will
be
forced
into
the
darkness.

The
end
of
the

will
come
like
a

war
will
continue

the

God
has
ordered
that

to
be
completely
destroyed.
Daniel 11:7

a

He
will

will

2 Thessalonians 2:4

God.
Revelation 11:18
18
The

your

The

the

your
holy

all
who

you,
great

The

has

to
destroy
those
who
destroy
the
earth!"

will
be
driven
into
thick

nations
were
angry,

give
the
reward
to
Your
servants
the
prophets,
to
the
saints,
and
to
those
who
fear
Your
name,
both
small
and
great,
and
the
time
has
come
to
destroy
those
who
destroy
the
earth.
