• 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
• 12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
• 13 Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.
• 14 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
• 15 And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.
• 16 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

• 6 And Solomon goeth up thither, on the altar of brass, before Jehovah, that is at the tent of meeting, and causeth to ascend upon it a thousand burnt-offerings.

• 12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted to you; and I will give you riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had that have been before you, neither shall there any after you have the like.
• 13 Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.
• 14 And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
• 15 And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.
• 16 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
• 17 And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.

• 23 Solomon sat on the LORD's throne as king in place of his father David; he was successful and all Israel was loyal to him.

• 1 Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority, for the LORD his God was with him and magnified him greatly.
• 2 Solomon addressed all Israel, including those who commanded units of a thousand and a hundred, the judges, and all the leaders of all Israel who were heads of families.
• 3 Solomon and the entire assembly went to the worship center in Gibeon, for the tent where they met God was located there, which Moses the LORD's servant had made in the wilderness.
• 4 (Now David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to the place he had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.
• 5 But the bronze altar made by Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, was in front of the LORD's tabernacle. Solomon and the entire assembly prayed to him there.)
• 6 Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the LORD which was at the meeting tent, and he offered up a thousand burnt sacrifices.
• 7 That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, "Tell me what I should give you."
• 8 Solomon replied to God, "You demonstrated great loyalty to my father David and have made me king in his place.
• 9 Now, LORD God, may your promise to my father David be realized, for you have made me king over a great nation as numerous as the dust of the earth.
• 10 Now give me wisdom and discernment so I can effectively lead this nation. Otherwise no one is able to make judicial decisions for this great nation of yours."
• 11 God said to Solomon, "Because you desire this, and did not ask for riches, wealth, and honor, or for vengeance on your enemies, and because you did not ask for long life, but requested wisdom and discernment so you can make judicial decisions for my people over whom I have made you king,
• 12 you are granted wisdom and discernment. Furthermore I am giving you riches, wealth, and honor surpassing that of any king before or after you."
• 13 Solomon left the meeting tent at the worship center in Gibeon and went to Jerusalem, where he reigned over Israel.
• 14 Solomon accumulated chariots and horses. He had 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horses. He kept them in assigned cities and in Jerusalem.
• 15 The king made silver and gold as plentiful in Jerusalem as stones; cedar was as plentiful as sycamore fig trees are in the lowlands.
• 16 Solomon acquired his horses from Egypt and from Que; the king's traders purchased them from Que.
• 17 They paid 600 silver pieces for each chariot from Egypt, and 150 silver pieces for each horse. They also sold chariots and horses to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of Syria.

• 23 Then Solomon sat on the Lord's throne as king. Solomon took his father's place. He was very successful. All the Israelites obeyed him.

• 1 Solomon, the son of David, became a very strong king, because the Lord his God was with him and made him very great.
• 2 The people of Israel and the captains, generals, judges, leaders, and heads of the families were all gathered together. Solomon spoke to them, and then they all went to the high place at Gibeon. They went there because God's Meeting Tent was there. The Lord's servant Moses made this tent when he and the Israelites were in the desert.

• 4 David had carried God's Box of the Agreement from Kiriath Jearim to Jerusalem where he had set up another tent for it.
• 5 But the bronze altar that Bezalel son of Uri had made was in front of the Holy Tent at Gibeon. So Solomon and the people went there to ask the Lord for advice.
• 6 Solomon went up to the bronze altar and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.
• 7 That night God came to Solomon and said, "Ask me for whatever you want me to give you."
• 8 Solomon said to God, "You were very kind to my father David when you allowed me to rule on his throne after him.
• 9 Now, Lord God, continue to keep your promise to my father David. You made me king over so many people that they are like the dust of the earth.
• 10 Now give me wisdom and knowledge so that I can lead these people in the right way. No one could rule this great nation without your help."
• 11 God said to Solomon, "You have the right attitude. You did not ask for long life and riches for yourself. You did not ask for the death of your enemies. You asked for the wisdom and knowledge so that you can make the right decisions.
• 12 So I will give you wisdom and knowledge, but I will also give you wealth, riches, and honor. No king who lived before you has ever had so much wealth and honor, and no king in the future will have as much wealth and honor."
• 13 Solomon left the Meeting Tent that was at the high place in Gibeon and went back to Jerusalem to rule as the king of Israel.
• 14 Solomon started gathering horses and chariots for his army. He had 1400 chariots and 12,000 horse soldiers. He kept them in the chariot cities and in Jerusalem where he lived.
• 15 In Jerusalem Solomon gathered so much gold and silver that it was as common as rocks. He gathered so much cedar wood that it was as common as sycamore trees in the western hill country.
• 16 Solomon imported horses from Egypt and Kue. His merchants bought the horses in Kue for a set price.
• 17 They also bought chariots from Egypt for 600 shekels of silver each and horses for 150 shekels of silver each. They then sold the horses and chariots to the kings of the Hittites and Arameans.

• 23 And Solomon sat upon the throne of his father David, and was highly honoured; and all Israel obeyed him.

• 1 And Solomon the son of David was established over his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and increased him exceedingly.
• 2 And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands, and to the captains of hundreds, and to the judges, and to all the rulers Gr. before over Israel, even the heads of the families;
• 3 and Solomon and all the congregation went to the high place that was in Gabaon, where was God’s tabernacle of witness, which Moses the servant of the Lord made in the wilderness.
• 4 But David had brought up the ark of God out of the city of Cariathiarim; for David had prepared a place for it, for he had pitched a tabernacle for it in Jerusalem.
• 5 And the brazen altar which Beseleel the son of Urias, the son of Or, had made, was there before the tabernacle of the Lord: and Solomon and the congregation enquired at it.
• 6 And Solomon brought victims thither to the brazen altar that was before the Lord in the tabernacle, and offered upon it a thousand whole-burnt-offerings.
• 7 In that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, Ask what I shall give thee.
• 8 And Solomon said to God, Thou hast dealt very mercifully with my father David, and hast made me king in his stead.
• 9 And now, O Lord God, let, I pray thee, Heb. thy word thy name be established upon David my father; for thou hast made me king over a people numerous as the dust of the earth.
• 10 Now give me wisdom and understanding, Gr. and I shall that I may go out and come in before this people: for who shall judge this thy great people?
• 11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked great wealth, nor glory, nor the life of thine enemies, and thou hast not asked long life; but hast asked for thyself wisdom and understanding, that thou mightest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
• 12 I give thee this wisdom and understanding; and I will give thee wealth, and riches, and glory, Gr. has not been, etc. so that there shall not have been any like thee among the kings before thee, neither shall there be Gr. thus such after thee.
• 13 And Solomon came from the high place that was in Gabaon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of witness, and reigned over Israel.
• 14 And Solomon collected chariots and horsemen: and he had fourteen hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen: and he Gr. left set them in the cities of chariots, and the people were with the king in Jerusalem.
• 15 And the king made silver and gold in Jerusalem to be as stones, and cedars in Judea as sycamores in the plain for multitude.
• 16 And Solomon imported horses from Egypt, and the charge of the king’s merchants for going was as follows, and they Gr. bought traded,
• 17 and went and brought out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty pieces of silver: and so they brought for all the kings of the Chettites, and for the kings of Syria by their So A. V., Gr. and Heb. hands means.

• 23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of his father David. Everything went well for him, and all Israel obeyed him.

• 2 Solomon spoke to all Israel. He spoke to the leaders of thousands and of hundreds. He spoke to the men who judge and to every leader in all Israel, the heads of fathers' houses.
• 3 Then Solomon and all the people with him went to a place of worship at Gibeon where God's meeting tent was. It was the tent which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the desert.
• 4 (But David had brought up the special box of God from Kiriath-jearim to the place he had made ready for it. For he had set up a tent for it in Jerusalem.)
• 5 Now the brass altar was there in front of the meeting tent of the Lord. It was the altar which was made by Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur. Solomon and the people worshiped the Lord there.
• 6 Solomon went before the Lord to the brass altar at the meeting tent. And he gave a thousand burnt gifts on it.
• 7 That night God showed Himself to Solomon and said to him, "Ask me for anything and I will give it to you."
• 8 Solomon said to God, "You have acted toward my father David with great loving-kindness. And You have made me king in his place.
• 9 Now, O Lord God, Your promise to my father David has come true. For You have made me king over as many people as the dust of the earth.
• 10 Now give me wisdom and much understanding, that I may lead these people. For who can rule this great nation of Yours?"
• 11 God said to Solomon, "You have not asked for riches, much money, or honor, or the life of those who hate you. And you have not asked for a long life for yourself. But you have asked for wisdom and much understanding, that you may rule My people over whom I have made you king. Because this was in your heart,
• 12 wisdom and much understanding have been given to you. And I will give you riches and much money and honor. You will have more than all the kings who were before you, and more than all who will come after you."
• 13 So Solomon went from the place of worship at Gibeon, from the meeting tent to Jerusalem. There he ruled over Israel.
• 14 Solomon gathered together warwagons and horsemen. He had 1,400 war-wagons and 12,000 horsemen. And he kept some of them in the war-wagon cities, and some with him in Jerusalem.
• 15 The king made silver and gold as easy to find in Jerusalem as stones. He made cedar trees as easy to find as sycamore trees in the valley.
• 16 Solomon's horses were brought in from Egypt and Kue. The men who traded for the king received them from Kue for a special price.
• 17 They paid 600 pieces of silver for each war-wagon brought in from Egypt and 150 pieces of silver for each horse. They also sold them to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram.

• 3 Then Solomon and all the people with him went to the place of worship at the town of Gibeon. God's Meeting Tent, which Moses the Lord's servant had made in the desert, was there.
• 4 David had brought the Ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to Jerusalem, where he had made a place for it and had set up a tent for it.

• 11 God said to Solomon, "You have not asked for wealth or riches or honor, or for the death of your enemies, or for a long life. But since you have asked for wisdom and knowledge to lead my people, over whom I have made you king,
• 12 I will give you wisdom and knowledge. I will also give you more wealth, riches, and honor than any king who has lived before you or any who will live after you."
• 13 Then Solomon left the place of worship, the Meeting Tent, at Gibeon and went back to Jerusalem. There King Solomon ruled over Israel.
• 14 Solomon had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses. He kept some in special cities for the chariots, and others he kept with him in Jerusalem.
• 15 In Jerusalem Solomon made silver and gold as plentiful as stones and cedar trees as plentiful as the fig trees on the western hills.
• 16 He imported horses from Egypt and Kue; his traders bought them in Kue.
• 17 They imported chariots from Egypt for about fifteen pounds of silver apiece, and horses cost nearly four pounds of silver apiece. Then they sold the horses and chariots to all the kings of the Hittites and the Arameans.
