1
And
when
king
Arad
the
Canaanite,
which
dwelt
in
the
south,
heard
tell
that
Israel
came
by
the
way
of
the
spies;
then
he
fought
against
Israel,
and
took
some
of
them
prisoners.
2
And
Israel
vowed
a
vow
unto
the
LORD,
and
said,
If
thou
wilt
indeed
deliver
this
people
into
my
hand,
then
I
will
utterly
destroy
their
cities.
3
And
the
LORD
hearkened
to
the
voice
of
Israel,
and
delivered
up
the
Canaanites;
and
they
utterly
destroyed
them
and
their
cities:
and
he
called
the
name
of
the
place
Hormah.
4
And
they
journeyed
from
mount
Hor
by
the
way
of
the
Red
sea,
to
compass
the
land
of
Edom:
and
the
soul
of
the
people
was
much
discouraged
because
of
the
way.
5
And
the
people
spake
against
God,
and
against
Moses,
Wherefore
have
ye
brought
us
up
out
of
Egypt
to
die
in
the
wilderness?
for
there
is
no
bread,
neither
is
there
any
water;
and
our
soul
loatheth
this
light
bread.
6
And
the
LORD
sent
fiery
serpents
among
the
people,
and
they
bit
the
people;
and
much
people
of
Israel
died.
7
Therefore
the
people
came
to
Moses,
and
said,
We
have
sinned,
for
we
have
spoken
against
the
LORD,
and
against
thee;
pray
unto
the
LORD,
that
he
take
away
the
serpents
from
us.
And
Moses
prayed
for
the
people.
8
And
the
LORD
said
unto
Moses,
Make
thee
a
fiery
serpent,
and
set
it
upon
a
pole:
and
it
shall
come
to
pass,
that
every
one
that
is
bitten,
when
he
looketh
upon
it,
shall
live.
9
And
Moses
made
a
serpent
of
brass,
and
put
it
upon
a
pole,
and
it
came
to
pass,
that
if
a
serpent
had
bitten
any
man,
when
he
beheld
the
serpent
of
brass,
he
lived.
10
And
the
children
of
Israel
set
forward,
and
pitched
in
Oboth.
11
And
they
journeyed
from
Oboth,
and
pitched
at
Ije-abarim,
in
the
wilderness
which
is
before
Moab,
toward
the
sunrising.
12
From
thence
they
removed,
and
pitched
in
the
valley
of
Zared.
13
From
thence
they
removed,
and
pitched
on
the
other
side
of
Arnon,
which
is
in
the
wilderness
that
cometh
out
of
the
coasts
of
the
Amorites:
for
Arnon
is
the
border
of
Moab,
between
Moab
and
the
Amorites.
14
Wherefore
it
is
said
in
the
book
of
the
wars
of
the
LORD,
What
he
did
in
the
Red
sea,
and
in
the
brooks
of
Arnon,
15
And
at
the
stream
of
the
brooks
that
goeth
down
to
the
dwelling
of
Ar,
and
lieth
upon
the
border
of
Moab.
16
And
from
thence
they
went
to
Beer:
that
is
the
well
whereof
the
LORD
spake
unto
Moses,
Gather
the
people
together,
and
I
will
give
them
water.
17
Then
Israel
sang
this
song,
Spring
up,
O
well;
sing
ye
unto
it:
18
The
princes
digged
the
well,
the
nobles
of
the
people
digged
it,
by
the
direction
of
the
lawgiver,
with
their
staves.
And
from
the
wilderness
they
went
to
Mattanah:
19
And
from
Mattanah
to
Nahaliel:
and
from
Nahaliel
to
Bamoth:
20
And
from
Bamoth
in
the
valley,
that
is
in
the
country
of
Moab,
to
the
top
of
Pisgah,
which
looketh
toward
Jeshimon.
21
And
Israel
sent
messengers
unto
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
saying,
22
Let
me
pass
through
thy
land:
we
will
not
turn
into
the
fields,
or
into
the
vineyards;
we
will
not
drink
of
the
waters
of
the
well:
but
we
will
go
along
by
the
king’s
high
way,
until
we
be
past
thy
borders.
23
And
Sihon
would
not
suffer
Israel
to
pass
through
his
border:
but
Sihon
gathered
all
his
people
together,
and
went
out
against
Israel
into
the
wilderness:
and
he
came
to
Jahaz,
and
fought
against
Israel.
24
And
Israel
smote
him
with
the
edge
of
the
sword,
and
possessed
his
land
from
Arnon
unto
Jabbok,
even
unto
the
children
of
Ammon:
for
the
border
of
the
children
of
Ammon
was
strong.
25
And
Israel
took
all
these
cities:
and
Israel
dwelt
in
all
the
cities
of
the
Amorites,
in
Heshbon,
and
in
all
the
villages
thereof.
26
For
Heshbon
was
the
city
of
Sihon
the
king
of
the
Amorites,
who
had
fought
against
the
former
king
of
Moab,
and
taken
all
his
land
out
of
his
hand,
even
unto
Arnon.
27
Wherefore
they
that
speak
in
proverbs
say,
Come
into
Heshbon,
let
the
city
of
Sihon
be
built
and
prepared:
28
For
there
is
a
fire
gone
out
of
Heshbon,
a
flame
from
the
city
of
Sihon:
it
hath
consumed
Ar
of
Moab,
and
the
lords
of
the
high
places
of
Arnon.
29
Woe
to
thee,
Moab!
thou
art
undone,
O
people
of
Chemosh:
he
hath
given
his
sons
that
escaped,
and
his
daughters,
into
captivity
unto
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites.
30
We
have
shot
at
them;
Heshbon
is
perished
even
unto
Dibon,
and
we
have
laid
them
waste
even
unto
Nophah,
which
reacheth
unto
Medeba.
31
Thus
Israel
dwelt
in
the
land
of
the
Amorites.
32
And
Moses
sent
to
spy
out
Jaazer,
and
they
took
the
villages
thereof,
and
drove
out
the
Amorites
that
were
there.
33
And
they
turned
and
went
up
by
the
way
of
Bashan:
and
Og
the
king
of
Bashan
went
out
against
them,
he,
and
all
his
people,
to
the
battle
at
Edrei.
34
And
the
LORD
said
unto
Moses,
Fear
him
not:
for
I
have
delivered
him
into
thy
hand,
and
all
his
people,
and
his
land;
and
thou
shalt
do
to
him
as
thou
didst
unto
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
which
dwelt
at
Heshbon.
35
So
they
smote
him,
and
his
sons,
and
all
his
people,
until
there
was
none
left
him
alive:
and
they
possessed
his
land.

23
And
Sihon

Sihon
gathereth
all
his

cometh
out

24
And
Israel
smiteth
him
by
the
mouth
of
the

possesseth
his

prayed
for
the
people.
8
And
Jehovah
said
unto
Moses,
Make
thee
a
fiery
serpent,
and
set
it
upon
a
standard:
and
it
shall
come
to
pass,
that
every
one
that
is
bitten,
when
he
seeth
it,
shall
live.
9
And
Moses
made
a
serpent
of
brass,
and
set
it
upon
the
standard:
and
it
came
to
pass,
that
if
a
serpent
had
bitten
any
man,
when
he
looked
unto
the
serpent
of
brass,
he
lived.
10
And
the
children
of
Israel
journeyed,
and
encamped
in
Oboth.
11
And
they
journeyed
from
Oboth,
and
encamped
at
Iyeabarim,
in
the
wilderness
which
is
before
Moab,
toward
the
sunrising.
12
From
thence
they
journeyed,
and
encamped
in
the
valley
of
Zered.
13
From
thence
they
journeyed,
and
encamped
on
the
other
side
of
the
Arnon,
which
is
in
the
wilderness,
that
cometh
out
of
the
border
of
the
Amorites:
for
the
Arnon
is
the
border
of
Moab,
between
Moab
and
the
Amorites.
14
Wherefore
it
is
said
in
the
book
of
the
Wars
of
Jehovah,
Vaheb
in
Suphah,
And
the
valleys
of
the
Arnon,
15
And
the
slope
of
the
valleys
That
inclineth
toward
the
dwelling
of
Ar,
And
leaneth
upon
the
border
of
Moab.
16
And
from
thence
they
journeyed
to
Beer:
that
is
the
well
whereof
Jehovah
said
unto
Moses,
Gather
the
people
together,
and
I
will
give
them
water.
17
Then
sang
Israel
this
song:
Spring
up,
O
well;
sing
ye
unto
it:
18
The
well,
which
the
princes
digged,
Which
the
nobles
of
the
people
delved,
With
the
sceptre,
and
with
their
staves.
And
from
the
wilderness
they
journeyed
to
Mattanah;
19
and
from
Mattanah
to
Nahaliel;
and
from
Nahaliel
to
Bamoth;
20
and
from
Bamoth
to
the
valley
that
is
in
the
field
of
Moab,
to
the
top
of
Pisgah,
which
looketh
down
upon
the
desert.
21
And
Israel
sent
messengers
unto
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
saying,
22
Let
me
pass
through
thy
land:
we
will
not
turn
aside
into
field,
or
into
vineyard;
we
will
not
drink
of
the
water
of
the
wells:
we
will
go
by
the
kings
highway,
until
we
have
passed
thy
border.
23
And
Sihon
would
not
suffer
Israel
to
pass
through
his
border:
but
Sihon
gathered
all
his
people
together,
and
went
out
against
Israel
into
the
wilderness,
and
came
to
Jahaz;
and
he
fought
against
Israel.
24
And
Israel
smote
him
with
the
edge
of
the
sword,
and
possessed
his
land
from
the
Arnon
unto
the
Jabbok,
even
unto
the
children
of
Ammon;
for
the
border
of
the
children
of
Ammon
was
strong.
25
And
Israel
took
all
these
cities:
and
Israel
dwelt
in
all
the
cities
of
the
Amorites,
in
Heshbon,
and
in
all
the
towns
thereof.
26
For
Heshbon
was
the
city
of
Sihon
the
king
of
the
Amorites,
who
had
fought
against
the
former
king
of
Moab,
and
taken
all
his
land
out
of
his
hand,
even
unto
the
Arnon.
27
Wherefore
they
that
speak
in
proverbs
say,
Come
ye
to
Heshbon;
Let
the
city
of
Sihon
be
built
and
established:
28
For
a
fire
is
gone
out
of
Heshbon,
A
flame
from
the
city
of
Sihon:
It
hath
devoured
Ar
of
Moab,
The
lords
of
the
high
places
of
the
Arnon.
29
Woe
to
thee,
Moab!
Thou
art
undone,
O
people
of
Chemosh:
He
hath
given
his
sons
as
fugitives,
And
his
daughters
into
captivity,
Unto
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites.
30
We
have
shot
at
them;
Heshbon
is
perished
even
unto
Dibon,
And
we
have
laid
waste
even
unto
Nophah,
Which
reacheth
unto
Medeba.
31
Thus
Israel
dwelt
in
the
land
of
the
Amorites.
32
And
Moses
sent
to
spy
out
Jazer;
and
they
took
the
towns
thereof,
and
drove
out
the
Amorites
that
were
there.
33
And
they
turned
and
went
up
by
the
way
of
Bashan:
and
Og
the
king
of
Bashan
went
out
against
them,
he
and
all
his
people,
to
battle
at
Edrei.
34
And
Jehovah
said
unto
Moses,
Fear
him
not:
for
I
have
delivered
him
into
thy
hand,
and
all
his
people,
and
his
land;
and
thou
shalt
do
to
him
as
thou
didst
unto
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
who
dwelt
at
Heshbon.
35
So
they
smote
him,
and
his
sons
and
all
his
people,
until
there
was
none
left
him
remaining:
and
they
possessed
his
land.

Thus

32
And
Moses

they

And
when
king

the

heard

And
they

by
the

of
the
Red

to
compass
the
land
of
Edom:
and
the
soul
of
the
people
was
much
discouraged
because
of
the
way.
5
And
the
people
spoke
against
God,
and
against
Moses,
Why
have
you
brought
us
up
out
of
Egypt
to
die
in
the
wilderness?
for
there
is
no
bread,
neither
is
there
any
water;
and
our
soul
loathes
this
light
bread.
6
And
the
LORD
sent
fiery
serpents
among
the
people,
and
they
bit
the
people;
and
much
people
of
Israel
died.
7
Therefore
the
people
came
to
Moses,
and
said,
We
have
sinned,
for
we
have
spoken
against
the
LORD,
and
against
you;
pray
to
the
LORD,
that
he
take
away
the
serpents
from
us.
And
Moses
prayed
for
the
people.
8
And
the
LORD
said
to
Moses,
Make
you
a
fiery
serpent,
and
set
it
on
a
pole:
and
it
shall
come
to
pass,
that
every
one
that
is
bitten,
when
he
looks
on
it,
shall
live.
9
And
Moses
made
a
serpent
of
brass,
and
put
it
on
a
pole,
and
it
came
to
pass,
that
if
a
serpent
had
bitten
any
man,
when
he
beheld
the
serpent
of
brass,
he
lived.
10
And
the
children
of
Israel
set
forward,
and
pitched
in
Oboth.
11
And
they
journeyed
from
Oboth,
and
pitched
at
Ijeabarim,
in
the
wilderness
which
is
before
Moab,
toward
the
sun
rise.
12
From
there
they
removed,
and
pitched
in
the
valley
of
Zared.
13
From
there
they
removed,
and
pitched
on
the
other
side
of
Arnon,
which
is
in
the
wilderness
that
comes
out
of
the
coasts
of
the
Amorites:
for
Arnon
is
the
border
of
Moab,
between
Moab
and
the
Amorites.
14
Why
it
is
said
in
the
book
of
the
wars
of
the
LORD,
What
he
did
in
the
Red
sea,
and
in
the
brooks
of
Arnon,
15
And
at
the
stream
of
the
brooks
that
goes
down
to
the
dwelling
of
Ar,
and
lies
on
the
border
of
Moab.
16
And
from
there
they
went
to
Beer:
that
is
the
well
whereof
the
LORD
spoke
to
Moses,
Gather
the
people
together,
and
I
will
give
them
water.
17
Then
Israel
sang
this
song,
Spring
up,
O
well;
sing
you
to
it:
18
The
princes
dig
the
well,
the
nobles
of
the
people
dig
it,
by
the
direction
of
the
lawgiver,
with
their
staves.
And
from
the
wilderness
they
went
to
Mattanah:
19
And
from
Mattanah
to
Nahaliel:
and
from
Nahaliel
to
Bamoth:
20
And
from
Bamoth
in
the
valley,
that
is
in
the
country
of
Moab,
to
the
top
of
Pisgah,
which
looks
toward
Jeshimon.
21
And
Israel
sent
messengers
to
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
saying,
22
Let
me
pass
through
your
land:
we
will
not
turn
into
the
fields,
or
into
the
vineyards;
we
will
not
drink
of
the
waters
of
the
well:
but
we
will
go

high

until
we

23
And
Sihon
would

Israel

but
Sihon

all
his

together,
and
went
out
against
Israel
into
the

and
he
came
to
Jahaz,
and
fought
against
Israel.
24
And
Israel
smote
him
with
the
edge
of
the
sword,
and
possessed
his
land
from
Arnon
to
Jabbok,
even
to
the
children
of
Ammon:
for
the
border
of
the
children
of
Ammon
was
strong.
25
And
Israel
took
all
these
cities:
and
Israel
dwelled
in
all
the
cities
of
the
Amorites,
in
Heshbon,
and
in
all
the

thereof.
26
For
Heshbon
was
the
city
of
Sihon
the
king
of
the
Amorites,
who
had
fought
against
the
former
king
of
Moab,
and
taken
all
his
land
out
of
his

even
to
Arnon.
27
Why
they
that

Come

When
the
Canaanite

When

9
So
Moses
made
a
bronze
snake
and
put
it
on
a

so
that
if
a
snake
had
bitten
someone,
when
he

he

10
The
Israelites
traveled
on

camped
in

11
Then
they
traveled
on
from
Oboth
and
camped
at
Iye
Abarim,
in
the
wilderness
that
is
before
Moab,
on
the
eastern
side.
12
From
there
they
moved

camped
in
the

From

they

and
camped
on
the

in

the
regions
of
the
Amorites,
for
Arnon
is
the
border
of
Moab,
between
Moab
and
the
Amorites.
14
This
is
why
it
is
said
in
the
Book
of
the
Wars
of
the
LORD,
"Waheb
in
Suphah
and
the
wadis,
the
Arnon

the

that
extends
to
the

16
And
from
there
they
traveled
to
Beer;
that
is
the
well
where
the
LORD
spoke
to
Moses,
"Gather
the

I
will
give
them
water."
17
Then
Israel
sang
this
song:
"Spring
up,
O
well,
sing
to
it!
18
The
well
which
the
princes
dug,
which
the
leaders
of
the
people
opened
with
their
scepters
and
their

And
from
the
wilderness
they
traveled
to
Mattanah;
19
and
from
Mattanah
to
Nahaliel;
and
from
Nahaliel
to
Bamoth;
20
and
from
Bamoth
to
the
valley
that
is
in
the
country
of
Moab,
near
the
top
of
Pisgah,
which
overlooks
the
wilderness.
21
Then
Israel
sent
messengers
to
King
Sihon
of
the
Amorites,
saying,
22
"Let
us
pass
through
your
land;
we
will
not
turn
aside
into
the

or
into
the

nor
will
we
drink
water
from
any
well,
but
we
will
go
along
the
King's
Highway
until
we
pass
your

23
But
Sihon
did
not
permit
Israel
to
pass
through
his
border;
he
gathered
all
his
forces
together
and
went
out
against
Israel
into
the
wilderness.
When
he
came
to
Jahaz,
he
fought
against
Israel.
24
But
the
Israelites
defeated
him
in
battle
and
took
possession
of
his
land
from
the
Arnon
to
the
Jabbok,
as
far
as
the
Ammonites,
for
the
border
of
the
Ammonites
was
strongly
defended.
25
So
Israel
took
all
these
cities;
and
Israel
settled
in
all
the
cities
of
the
Amorites,
in
Heshbon,
and
in
all
its
villages.
26
For
Heshbon
was
the
city
of
King
Sihon
of
the
Amorites.
Now
he
had
fought
against
the
former
king
of
Moab
and
had
taken
all
of
his
land
from
his
control,
as
far
as
the
Arnon.
27
That
is
why
those
who
speak
in
proverbs
say,
"Come
to
Heshbon,
let
it
be
built.
Let
the
city
of
Sihon
be

He
has
made
his

of
the

30
We
have
overpowered
them;
Heshbon
has
perished
as
far
as
Dibon.
We
have
shattered
them
as
far
as
Nophah,
which
reaches
to
Medeba."
31
So
the
Israelites
lived
in
the
land
of
the
Amorites.
32
Moses
sent
spies
to
reconnoiter
Jaazer,
and
they
captured
its
villages
and
dispossessed
the
Amorites
who
were
there.
33
Then
they
turned
and
went
up
by
the
road
to
Bashan.
And
King
Og
of
Bashan
and
all
his
forces
marched
out
against
them
to
do
battle
at
Edrei.
34
And
the
LORD
said
to
Moses,
"Do
not
fear
him,
for
I
have
delivered
him
and
all
his
people
and
his
land
into
your
hand.
You
will
do
to
him
what
you
did
to
King
Sihon
of
the
Amorites,
who
lived
in
Heshbon.
35
So
they
defeated
Og,
his
sons,
and
all
his
people,
until
there
were
no
survivors,
and
they
possessed
his
land.

said,
"We
know
that
we
sinned
when
we
spoke
against
the
Lord
and
against
you.
Pray
to
the
Lord.
Ask
him
to
take
away
these
snakes."
So
Moses
prayed
for
them.
8
The
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Make
a
bronze
snake
and
put
it
on
a
pole.
If
anyone
is
bitten
by
a
snake,
that
person
should
look
at
the
bronze
snake
on
the
pole.
Then
that
person
will
not
die."
9
So
Moses
obeyed
the
Lord.
He
made
a
bronze
snake
and
put
it
on
a
pole.
Then
when
a
snake
bit
anyone,
that
person
looked
at
the
bronze
snake
on
the
pole
and
lived.
10
The
Israelites
left
that
place
and
camped
at
Oboth.
11
Then
they
left
Oboth
and
camped
at
Iye
Abarim
in
the
desert
east
of
Moab.
12
They
left
that
place
and
camped
in
Zered
Valley.
13
Then
they
moved
and
camped
across
from
the
Arnon
River
in
the
desert.
This
river
started
at
the
Ammonite
border.
The
valley
was
the
border
between
Moab
and
the
Amorites.
14
That
is
why
these
words
are
written
in
the
Book
of
the
Wars
of
the
Lord:
"—
and
Waheb
in
Suphah,
and
the
Valleys
of
the
Arnon,
15
and
the
hills
by
the
valleys
that
lead
to
the
town
of
Ar.
These
places
are
at
the
border
of
Moab."
16
The
Israelites
left
that
place
and
traveled
to
Beer.
This
was
the
place
with
the
well
where
the
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Bring
the
people
together
here,
and
I
will
give
them
water."
17
Then
the
Israelites
sang
this
song:
"Well,
flow
with
water!
Sing
about
it!
18
Great
men
dug
this
well.
Important
leaders
dug
this
well.
They
dug
this
well
with
their
staffs
and
walking
sticks.
It
is
a
gift
in
the
desert."
19
The
people
traveled
from
Mattanah
to
Nahaliel.
Then
they
traveled
from
Nahaliel
to
Bamoth.
20
They
traveled
from
Bamoth
to
the
Valley
of
Moab.
In
this
place
the
top
of
the
Pisgah
Mountain
looks
over
the
desert.
21
The
Israelites
sent
some
men
to
King
Sihon
of
the
Amorites.
The
men
said
to
the
king,
22
"Allow
us
to
travel
through
your
country.
We
will
not
go
through
any
field
or
vineyard.
We
will
not
drink
water
from
any
of
your
wells.
We
will
travel
only
along
King's
Road.
We
will
stay
on
that
road
until
we
have
traveled
through
your
country."
23
But
King
Sihon
would
not
allow
the
Israelites
to
travel
through
his
country.
He
gathered
together
his
army
and
marched
out
to
the
desert
to
fight
against
the
Israelites.
The
king's
army
fought
against
the
Israelites
at
Jahaz.
24
But
the
Israelites
defeated
the
king
and
took
his
land
from
the
Arnon
River
to
the
Jabbok
River.
The
Israelites
took
the
land
as
far
as
the
Ammonite
border.
They
stopped
at
that
border
because
it
was
strongly
defended
by
the
Ammonites.
25
Israel
took
all
the
Amorite
cities
and
began
living
in
them.
They
even
defeated
the
city
of
Heshbon
and
all
the
small
towns
around
it.
26
Heshbon
was
the
city
where
Sihon,
the
Amorite
king,
lived.
In
the
past
Sihon
had
fought
with
the
king
of
Moab.
Sihon
had
taken
the
land
as
far
as
the
Arnon
River.
27
That
is
why
the
singers
sing
this
song:
"Go
in
and
rebuild
Heshbon!
Make
Sihon's
city
strong.
28
A
fire
began
in
Heshbon.
That
fire
began
in
Sihon's
city.
The
fire
destroyed
Ar
in
Moab.
It
burned
the
hills
above
Arnon
River.
29
It
is
bad
for
you,
Moab.
You
lost
Chemosh's
people.
His
sons
ran
away.
His
daughters
were
taken
prisoners
by
Sihon,
king
of
the
Amorites.
30
But
we
defeated
those
Amorites.
We
destroyed
their
towns
from
Heshbon
to
Dibon,
from
Nashim
to
Nophah,
near
Medeba."
31
So
the
Israelites
made
their
camp
in
the
land
of
the
Amorites.
32
Moses
sent
some
men
to
look
at
the
town
of
Jazer.
Then
the
Israelites
captured
that
town
and
the
small
towns
that
were
around
it.
They
forced
the
Amorites
who
were
living
there
to
leave.
33
Then
the
Israelites
traveled
on
the
road
toward
Bashan.
King
Og
of
Bashan
got
his
army
and
marched
out
to
meet
the
Israelites.
He
fought
against
them
at
Edrei.
34
But
the
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Don't
be
afraid
of
that
king.
I
will
allow
you
to
defeat
him.
You
will
take
his
whole
army
and
all
his
land.
Do
the
same
to
him
as
you
did
to
Sihon,
the
Amorite
king
who
lived
in
Heshbon."
35
So
the
Israelites
defeated
Og
and
his
army.
They
killed
him,
his
sons,
and
all
his
army.
Then
the
Israelites
took
all
his
land.

having

they
compassed
the

Edom,
and
the

And
the
people
spoke
against
God
and
against
Moses,
saying,
Why
is
this?
Hast
thou
brought
us
ought
of
Egypt
to
slay
us
in
the
wilderness?
for
there
is
not
bread
nor
water;
and
our

loathes
this
light
bread.
6
And
the
Lord
sent
among
the
people
deadly
serpents,
and
they
bit
the
people,
and
much
people
of
the
children
of
Israel
died.
7
And
the
people
came
to
Moses
and
said,
We
have
sinned,
for
we
have
spoken
against
the
Lord,
and
against
thee:
pray
therefore
to
the
Lord,
and
let
him
take
away
the
serpent
from
us.
8
And
Moses
prayed
to
the
Lord
for
the
people;
and
the
Lord
said
to
Moses,
Make
thee
a
serpent,
and
put
it
on
a

and
it
shall
come
to
pass
that
whenever
a
serpent
shall
bite
a
man,
every
one
so
bitten
that
looks
upon
it
shall
live.
9
And
Moses
made
a
serpent
of
brass,
and
put
it
upon
a
signal-staff:
and
it
came
to
pass
that
whenever
a

bit
a

and
he
looked
on
the
brazen
serpent,
he
lived.
10
And
the
children
of
Israel
departed,
and
encamped
in
Oboth.
11
And
having
departed
from
Oboth,
they
encamped
in
Achalgai,
on
the
farther
side
in
the
wilderness,
which
is
opposite
Moab,
toward
the
east.
12
And
thence
they
departed,
and
encamped
in
the
valley
of
Zared.
13
And
they
departed
thence
and
encamped
on
the
other
side
of
Arnon
in
the
wilderness,
the
country
which
extends
from
the
coasts
of
the
Gr.
Amorite
Amorites;
for
Arnon
is
the
borders
of
Moab,
between
Moab
and
the
Amorites.
14
Therefore
it
is
said
in
a
book,
A
war
of
the
Lord
has
set
on
fire
Zoob,
and
the
brooks
of
Arnon.
15
And
he
has
appointed
brooks
to
cause
Er
to
dwell
there;
and
it
lies
near
to
the
coasts
of
Moab.
16
And
thence
they
came
to
the
well;
this
is
the
well
of
which
the
Lord
said
to
Moses,
Gather
the
people,
and
I
will
give
them
water
to
drink.
17
Then
Israel
sang
this
song
at
the
well,
Begin
to
sing
Gr.
of
the
well
for
it
of
the
well;
18
the
princes
digged
it,
the
kings
of
the
nations
in
their
kingdom,
in
their
lordship
sank
it
in
the
rock:
and
they
went
from
the
well
to
Manthanain,
19
and
from
Manthanain
to
Naaliel,
and
from
Naaliel
to
Bamoth,

Bamoth
to

which

20
And
Moses
sent
ambassadors
to
Seon
king
of
the
Amorites,
with
peaceable
words,
saying,
21
We
will
pass
through
thy
land,
we
will
go
by
the
road;
we
will
not
turn
aside
to
the
field
or
to
the
vineyard.
22
We
will
not
drink
water
out
of
thy
well;
we
will
go
by
the
king’s
highway,
until
we
have
past
thy
boundaries.
23
And
Seon
did
not
allow
Israel
to
pass
through
his
borders,
and
Seon
gathered
all
his
people,
and
went
out
to
set
the
battle
in
array
against
Israel
into
the
wilderness;
and
he
came
to
Jassa,
and
set
the
battle
in
array
against
Israel.
24
And
Israel
smote
him
with
the
slaughter
of
the
sword,
and
they
became
possessors
of
his
land,
from
Arnon
to
Jaboc,
as
far
as
the
children
of
Amman,
for
Jazer
is
the
borders
of
the
children
of
Amman.
25
And
Israel
took
all
their
cities,
and
Israel
dwelt
in
all
the
cities
of
the
Amorites,
in
Esebon,
and
in
all
cities
belonging
to
it.
26
For
Esebon
is
the
city
of
Seon
king
of
the
Amorites;
and
he
before
fought
against
the
king
of
Moab,
and
they
took
all
his
land,
from
Aroer
to
Arnon.
27
Therefore
say
they
who
deal
in
dark
speeches,
Come
to
Esebon,
that
the
city
of
Seon
may
be
built
and
prepared.
28
For
a
fire
has
gone
forth
from
Esebon,
a
flame
from
the
city
of
Seon,
and
has
consumed
as
far
as
Moab,
and
devoured
the
pillars
of
Arnon.
29
Woe
to
thee,
Moab;
thou
art
lost,
thou
people
of
Chamos:
their
sons
are
sold
for
preservation,
and
their
daughters
are
captives
to
Seon
king
of
the
Amorites.
30
And
their
seed
shall
perish
from
Esebon
to
Daebon;
and
their
women
have
yet
farther
kindled
a
fire
against
Moab.
31
And
Israel
dwelt
in
all
the
cities
of
the
Amorites.
32
And
Moses
sent
to
spy
out
Jazer;
and
they
took
it,
and
its
villages,
and
cast
out
the
Amorite
that
dwelt
there.
33
And
having
returned,
they
went
up
the
road
that
leads
to
Basan;
and
Og
the
king
of
Basan
went
forth
to
meet
them,
and
all
his
people
to
war
to
Edrain.
34
And
the
Lord
said
to
Moses,
Fear
him
not;
for
I
have
delivered
him
and
all
his
people,
and
all
his
land,
into
thy
hands;
and
thou
shalt
do
to
him
as
thou
didst
to
Seon
king
of
the
Amorites,
who
dwelt
in
Esebon.
35
And
he
smote
him
and
his
sons,
and
all
his
people,
until
he
left
none
of
his
to
be
taken
alive;
and
they
inherited
his
land.

1
The
Canaanite,
the
king
of
Arad,
who
lived
in
the
Negev,
heard
that
Israel
was
coming
by
the
way
of
Atharim.
He
fought
against
Israel,
and
took
some
of
them
against
their
will.
2
So
Israel
made
a
promise
to
the
Lord,
and
said,
"If
You
will
give
this
people
into
my
hand,
I
will
destroy
every
part
of
their
cities."
3
The
Lord
heard
the
voice
of
Israel,
and
gave
them
the
Canaanites.
Then
Israel
destroyed
all
of
them
and
their
cities.
So
the
name
of
the
place
was
called
Hormah.
4
Then
they
traveled
from
Mount
Hor
by
the
way
of
the
Red
Sea,
to
go
around
the
land
of
Edom.
And
the
people
wanted
to
give
up
because
of
the
long
way.
5
They
spoke
against
God
and
Moses,
saying,
"Why
have
you
brought
us
up
out
of
Egypt
to
die
in
the
desert?
For
there
is
no
food
and
no
water.
And
we
hate
this
bad
food."
6
Then
the
Lord
sent
snakes
with
a
bite
of
poison
among
the
people.
They
bit
the
people,
so
that
many
people
of
Israel
died.
7
So
the
people
came
to
Moses
and
said,
"We
have
sinned,
because
we
have
spoken
against
the
Lord
and
you.
Pray
to
the
Lord,
that
He
will
take
away
the
snakes
from
us."
So
Moses
prayed
for
the
people.
8
The
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Make
a
special
snake
and
put
it
up
on
a
long
piece
of
wood.
Everyone
who
is
bitten
will
live
when
he
looks
at
it."
9
So
Moses
made
a
brass
snake
and
put
it
up
on
the
long
piece
of
wood.
If
a
snake
bit
any
man,
he
would
live
when
he
looked
at
the
brass
snake.
10
The
people
of
Israel
traveled
on,
and
set
up
their
tents
in
Oboth.
11
Then
they
left
Oboth
and
stopped
at
Iye-abarim,
in
the
desert
beside
Moab,
to
the
east.
12
From
there
they
traveled
on
to
Wadi
Zered.
13
And
from
there
they
traveled
on
and
set
up
their
tents
on
the
other
side
of
the
Arnon.
It
is
in
the
desert
that
goes
out
from
the
land
of
the
Amorites.
For
the
Arnon
is
the
side
of
Moab,
between
Moab
and
the
Amorites.
14
So
it
is
said
in
the
Book
of
the
Wars
of
the
Lord:
"Waheb
in
Suphah,
and
the
valleys
of
the
Arnon,
15
and
the
hill-side
of
the
valleys
that
goes
to
the
place
of
Ar,
and
rests
on
the
side
of
Moab."
16
From
there
they
went
on
to
Beer.
That
is
the
well
where
the
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Gather
the
people
together,
so
I
may
give
them
water."
17
Then
Israel
sang
this
song:
"Come
up,
O
well!
Sing
to
it!
18
The
well,
which
the
leaders
dug,
which
the
rulers
of
the
people
dug,
with
the
special
stick
of
power
and
with
their
walking
sticks."
From
the
desert
they
went
on
to
Mattanah.
19
From
Mattanah
they
went
to
Nahaliel,
and
from
Nahaliel
to
Bamoth.
20
From
Bamoth
they
went
to
the
valley
in
the
land
of
Moab,
at
the
top
of
Pisgah
which
looks
down
upon
the
desert.
21
Then
Israel
sent
men
to
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
saying,
22
"Let
me
pass
through
your
land.
We
will
not
turn
aside
into
field
or
vines.
We
will
not
drink
water
from
wells.
We
will
go
on
the
king's
road
until
we
have
passed
through
your
country."
23
But
Sihon
would
not
let
Israel
pass
through
his
country.
He
gathered
all
his
people
and
went
out
against
Israel
in
the
desert.
He
came
to
Jahaz
and
fought
against
Israel.
24
Then
Israel
killed
Sihon
with
the
sword.
They
took
his
land
from
the
Arnon
to
the
Jabbok,
as
far
as
the
people
of
Ammon.
For
Jazer
was
the
side
of
the
land
of
the
Ammonites.
25
Israel
took
all
these
cities.
They
lived
in
all
the
cities
of
the
Amorites,
in
Heshbon,
and
in
all
its
towns.
26
For
Heshbon
was
the
city
of
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites.
He
had
fought
against
the
man
who
was
once
the
king
of
Moab,
and
had
taken
all
his
land
as
far
as
the
Arnon.
27
So
those
who
use
wise
sayings
say,
"Come
to
Heshbon!
Let
it
be
built!
Let
the
city
of
Sihon
be
built.
28
For
a
fire
went
out
from
Heshbon,
fire
from
the
city
of
Sihon.
It
burned
up
Ar
of
Moab,
and
the
lords
of
the
high
places
of
the
Arnon.
29
It
is
bad
for
you,
O
Moab!
You
are
destroyed,
O
people
of
Chemosh!
His
sons
run
for
their
lives.
His
daughters
have
been
taken
against
their
will
by
an
Amorite
king,
Sihon.
30
But
we
have
put
them
down.
Heshbon
is
destroyed
as
far
as
Dibon.
We
have
destroyed
even
to
Nophah,
which
goes
to
Medeba."
31
So
Israel
lived
in
the
land
of
the
Amorites.
32
Then
Moses
sent
men
to
spy
out
Jazer
in
secret.
And
Israel
took
its
towns
and
took
the
place
of
the
Amorites
who
were
there.
33
Then
they
turned
and
went
up
by
the
way
of
Bashan.
Og
the
king
of
Bashan
went
out
with
all
his
people
to
battle
at
Edrei.
34
But
the
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Do
not
be
afraid
of
him.
For
I
have
given
him
into
your
hand,
with
all
his
people
and
his
land.
Do
to
him
as
you
did
to
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites
who
lived
at
Heshbon."
35
So
the
people
of
Israel
killed
Og
and
his
sons
and
all
his
people,
until
there
was
not
one
left
alive.
And
they
took
his
land.

1
The
Canaanite
king
of
Arad
lived
in
the
southern
area.
When
he
heard
that
the
Israelites
were
coming
on
the
road
to
Atharim,
he
attacked
them
and
captured
some
of
them.
2
Then
the
Israelites
made
this
promise
to
the
Lord:
"If
you
will
help
us
defeat
these
people,
we
will
completely
destroy
their
cities."
3
The
Lord
listened
to
the
Israelites,
and
he
let
them
defeat
the
Canaanites.
The
Israelites
completely
destroyed
the
Canaanites
and
their
cities,
so
the
place
was
named
Hormah.
4
The
Israelites
left
Mount
Hor
and
went
on
the
road
toward
the
Red
Sea,
in
order
to
go
around
the
country
of
Edom.
But
the
people
became
impatient
on
the
way
5
and
grumbled
at
God
and
Moses.
They
said,
"Why
did
you
bring
us
out
of
Egypt
to
die
in
this
desert?
There
is
no
bread
and
no
water,
and
we
hate
this
terrible
food!"
6
So
the
Lord
sent
them
poisonous
snakes;
they
bit
the
people,
and
many
of
the
Israelites
died.
7
The
people
came
to
Moses
and
said,
"We
sinned
when
we
grumbled
at
you
and
the
Lord.
Pray
that
the
Lord
will
take
away
these
snakes."
So
Moses
prayed
for
the
people.
8
The
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Make
a
bronze
snake,
and
put
it
on
a
pole.
When
anyone
who
is
bitten
looks
at
it,
that
person
will
live."
9
So
Moses
made
a
bronze
snake
and
put
it
on
a
pole.
Then
when
a
snake
bit
anyone,
that
person
looked
at
the
bronze
snake
and
lived.
10
The
Israelites
went
and
camped
at
Oboth.
11
They
went
from
Oboth
to
Iye
Abarim,
in
the
desert
east
of
Moab.
12
From
there
they
went
and
camped
in
the
Zered
Valley.
13
From
there
they
went
and
camped
across
the
Arnon,
in
the
desert
just
inside
the
Amorite
country.
The
Arnon
is
the
border
between
the
Moabites
and
the
Amorites.
14
That
is
why
the
Book
of
the
Wars
of
the
Lord
says:
".
.
.
and
Waheb
in
Suphah,
and
the
ravines,
the
Arnon,
15
and
the
slopes
of
the
ravines
that
lead
to
the
settlement
of
Ar.
These
places
are
at
the
border
of
Moab."
16
The
Israelites
went
from
there
to
Beer;
a
well
is
there
where
the
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Gather
the
people
and
I
will
give
them
water."
17
Then
the
Israelites
sang
this
song:
"Pour
out
water,
well!
Sing
about
it.
18
Princes
dug
this
well.
Important
men
made
it.
With
their
scepters
and
poles,
they
dug
it."
The
people
went
from
the
desert
to
Mattanah.
19
From
Mattanah
they
went
to
Nahaliel
and
on
to
Bamoth.
20
From
Bamoth
they
went
to
the
valley
of
Moab
where
the
top
of
Mount
Pisgah
looks
over
the
desert.
21
The
Israelites
sent
messengers
to
Sihon,
king
of
the
Amorites,
saying,
22
"Let
us
pass
through
your
country.
We
will
not
go
through
any
fields
of
grain
or
vineyards,
or
drink
water
from
the
wells.
We
will
travel
only
along
the
king's
road
until
we
have
passed
through
your
country."
23
But
King
Sihon
would
not
let
the
Israelites
pass
through
his
country.
He
gathered
his
whole
army
together,
and
they
marched
out
to
meet
Israel
in
the
desert.
At
Jahaz
they
fought
the
Israelites.
24
Israel
killed
the
king
and
captured
his
land
from
the
Arnon
River
to
the
Jabbok
River.
They
took
the
land
as
far
as
the
Ammonite
border,
which
was
strongly
defended.
25
Israel
captured
all
the
Amorite
cities
and
lived
in
them,
taking
Heshbon
and
all
the
towns
around
it.
26
Heshbon
was
the
city
where
Sihon,
the
Amorite
king,
lived.
In
the
past
he
had
fought
with
the
king
of
Moab
and
had
taken
all
the
land
as
far
as
the
Arnon.
27
That
is
why
the
poets
say:
"Come
to
Heshbon
and
rebuild
it;
rebuild
Sihon's
city.
28
A
fire
began
in
Heshbon;
flames
came
from
Sihon's
city.
It
destroyed
Ar
in
Moab,
and
it
burned
the
Arnon
highlands.
29
How
terrible
for
you,
Moab!
The
people
of
Chemosh
are
ruined.
His
sons
ran
away
and
his
daughters
were
captured
by
Sihon,
king
of
the
Amorites.
30
But
we
defeated
those
Amorites.
Dibon,
and
we
destroyed
them
as
far
as
Nophah,
near
Medeba."
31
So
Israel
lived
in
the
land
of
the
Amorites.
32
After
Moses
sent
spies
to
the
town
of
Jazer,
they
captured
the
towns
around
it,
forcing
out
the
Amorites
who
lived
there.
33
Then
the
Israelites
went
up
the
road
toward
Bashan.
Og
king
of
Bashan
and
his
whole
army
marched
out
to
meet
the
Israelites,
and
they
fought
at
Edrei.
34
The
Lord
said
to
Moses,
"Don't
be
afraid
of
him.
I
will
hand
him,
his
whole
army,
and
his
land
over
to
you.
Do
to
him
what
you
did
to
Sihon,
the
Amorite
king
who
lived
in
Heshbon."
35
So
the
Israelites
killed
Og
and
his
sons
and
all
his
army;
no
one
was
left
alive.
And
they
took
his
land.

and
it
shall
be
that

he

9
And
Moses
made
a
serpent
of
bronze
and
put
it
on
a

and
it
happened,
if
a
serpent
had
bitten
any

he
lived.
10
And
the

pulled

encamped

11
And
they
pulled
up

Oboth,
and
camped
in
Ijeabarim,
in
the

that

toward
the

of

12
From
there
they
pulled
up
stakes
and
camped
in
the

Zered.
13
From
there
they
pulled
up
stakes
and
camped
beyond
Arnon,
which
is
in
the
wilderness
that
comes
out
of
the
border
of
the
Amorite;
for
Arnon
is
the
border
of
Moab,
between
Moab
and
the
Amorite;
14
therefore,
it
is
said
in
the
Book
of
the
Wars
of
Jehovah:
Waheb
in
Suphah,
the
torrents
of
Arnon,
15
and
the
slope
of
the
torrent-beds
that
turn
down
toward
the

Ar,
and
lean
on
the

Moab.
16
And
from
there
they
went
to
Beer;
that
is
the
well
of
which
Jehovah
spoke
to
Moses,
saying,
Gather
the
people
and
I
will
give
water
to
them.
17
Then
Israel
sang
this
song:
Spring
up,
O
well,
sing
to
it;
18
The
well
which
the
rulers
dug,
which
the
nobles
of
the
people
dug
with
their
staves,
at
the
word
of
the
Lawgiver.
And
from
the
wilderness
they
went
to
Mattanah.
19
And
from
Mattanah
they
went
to
Nahaliel;
and
from
Nahaliel
to
Bamoth;
20
and
from
Bamoth
in
the
valley
which
is
in
the
field
of
Moab
to
the
top
of
Pisgah,
and

the

21
And
Israel
sent
messengers
to
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
saying,
22
Let
me
pass
through
your
land;
we
will
not
turn
into
a
field
or
into
a
vineyard;
we
will
not
drink
waters
of
a
well;
we
will
go
in
the
king's
highway
until
we
have
passed
over
your
border.
23
And
Sihon
would
not
allow
Israel
to
pass
through
his
border.
And
Sihon
gathered
all
his
people
and
went
out
to
meet
Israel
in
the
wilderness,
and
they
came
to
Jahaz
and
fought

Israel.
24
And
Israel
struck
him
by
the
mouth
of
the
sword
and
seized
his
land,
from
Arnon
to
Jabbok,
to
the
sons
of
Ammon.
For
the
border
of
the
sons
of
Ammon
was
strong.
25
And
Israel
took
all
these
cities.
And
Israel
dwelt
in
all
the
cities
of
the
Amorite,
in
Heshbon
and
in
all
its
daughter
villages.
26
For
Heshbon
was
the
city
of
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites.
And
he
had
fought
against
the
former
king
of
Moab
and
had
taken
his
land
out
of
his
hand,
to
Arnon.
27
On
account
of
this
the
parable
speakers
say,
Come
to
Heshbon!
Let
the
city
of
Sihon
be
built
and
established!
28
For
a
fire
has
gone
out
of
Heshbon,
a
flame
from
the
city
of
Sihon;
it
has
consumed
Ar
of
Moab,
the
lords
of
the
high
places
of
Arnon.
29
Woe
to
you,
Moab!
You
are
undone,
O
people
of
Chemosh!
He
has
given
his
sons
as
fugitives
and
his
daughters
into
captivity,
to
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites.
30
We
have
cast
them
down;
Heshbon
has
perished,
even
to
Dibon;
and
we
have
ravaged
even
to
Nophah,
which
is
to
Medeba.
31
And
Israel
dwelt
in
the
land
of
the
Amorites.
32
And
Moses
sent
to
spy
out
Jaazer,
and
they
took

and
drove
out
the
Amorite
who

there.
33
And
they
turned
and

king

he

34
And

Do
not
fear
him,

I
have
given
him
into

hand,
and
all
his
people
and
his
land.
And
you
shall
do
to
him
as
you
have
done
to
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
who
dwelt
at
Heshbon.
35
And
they
struck
him
and
his
sons
and
all
his
people
until
he
did
not
have
a
remnant
left.
And
they
seized
his
land.

us."
And
Moses
interceded
for
the
people.
8
Then
the
LORD
said
to
Moses,
"Make
a
snake
image
and
mount
it
on
a
pole.
When
anyone
who
is
bitten
looks
at
it,
he
will
recover.
9
So
Moses
made
a
bronze
snake
and
mounted
it
on
a
pole.
Whenever
someone
was
bitten,
and
he
looked
at
the
bronze
snake,
he
recovered.
10
The
Israelites
set
out
and
camped
at
Oboth.
11
They
set
out
from
Oboth
and
camped
at
Iye-abarim
in
the
wilderness
that
borders
Moab
on
the
east.
12
From
there
they
went
and
camped
at
Zered
Valley.
13
They
set
out
from
there
and
camped
on
the
other
side
of
the
Arnon
River
,
in
the
wilderness
that
extends
from
the
Amorite
border,
because
the
Arnon
was
the
Moabite
border
between
Moab
and
the
Amorites.
14
Therefore
it
is
stated
in
the
Book
of
the
LORD's
Wars:
Waheb
in
Suphah
and
the
ravines
of
the
Arnon,
15
even
the
slopes
of
the
ravines
that
extend
to
the
site
of
Ar
and
lie
along
the
border
of
Moab.
16
From
there
they
went
to
Beer,
the
well
the
LORD
told
Moses
about,
"Gather
the
people
so
I
may
give
them
water."
17
Then
Israel
sang
this
song:
Spring
up,
well--
sing
to
it!
18
The
princes
dug
the
well;
The
nobles
of
the
people
hollowed
it
out
with
a
scepter
and
with
their
staffs.
They
went
from
the
wilderness
to
Mattanah,
19
from
Mattanah
to
Nahaliel,
from
Nahaliel
to
Bamoth,
20
from
Bamoth
to
the
valley
in
the
territory
of
Moab
near
the
Pisgah
highlands
that
overlook
the
wasteland.
21
Israel
sent
messengers
to
say
to
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites:
22
"Let
us
travel
through
your
land.
We
won't
go
into
the
fields
or
vineyards.
We
won't
drink
any
well
water.
We
will
travel
the
King's
Highway
until
we
have
traveled
through
your
territory."
23
But
Sihon
would
not
let
Israel
travel
through
his
territory.
Instead,
he
gathered
his
whole
army
and
went
out
to
confront
Israel
in
the
wilderness.
When
he
came
to
Jahaz,
he
fought
against
Israel.
24
Israel
struck
him
with
the
sword
and
took
possession
of
his
land
from
the
Arnon
to
the
Jabbok,
but
only
up
to
the
Ammonite
border,
because
it
was
fortified.
25
Israel
took
all
the
cities
and
lived
in
all
these
Amorite
cities,
including
Heshbon
and
all
its
villages.
26
Heshbon
was
the
city
of
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
who
had
fought
against
the
former
king
of
Moab
and
had
taken
control
of
all
his
land
as
far
as
the
Arnon.
27
Therefore
the
poets
say:
Come
to
Heshbon,
let
it
be
rebuilt;
let
the
city
of
Sihon
be
restored.
28
For
fire
came
out
of
Heshbon,
a
flame
from
the
city
of
Sihon.
It
consumed
Ar
of
Moab,
the
lords
of
Arnon's
heights.
29
Woe
to
you,
Moab!
You
have
been
destroyed,
people
of
Chemosh!
He
gave
up
his
sons
as
refugees,
and
his
daughters
into
captivity
to
Sihon
the
Amorite
king.
30
We
threw
them
down;
Heshbon
has
been
destroyed
as
far
as
Dibon.
We
caused
desolation
as
far
as
Nophah,
which
reaches
as
far
as
Medeba.
31
So
Israel
lived
in
the
Amorites'
land.
32
After
Moses
sent
spies
to
Jazer,
Israel
captured
its
villages
and
drove
out
the
Amorites
who
were
there.
33
Then
they
turned
and
went
up
the
road
to
Bashan,
and
Og
king
of
Bashan
came
out
against
them
with
his
whole
army
to
do
battle
at
Edrei.
34
But
the
LORD
said
to
Moses,
"Do
not
fear
him,
for
I
have
handed
him
over
to
you
along
with
his
whole
army
and
his
land.
Do
to
him
as
you
did
to
Sihon
king
of
the
Amorites,
who
lived
in
Heshbon."
35
So
they
struck
him,
his
sons,
and
his
whole
army
until
no
one
was
left,
and
they
took
possession
of
his
land.
