1 यहोवा ने अब्राम से कहा, अपने देश, और अपनी जन्मभूमि, और अपने पिता के घर को छोड़कर उस देश में चला जा जो मैं तुझे दिखाऊंगा।
2 और मैं तुझ से एक बड़ी जाति बनाऊंगा, और तुझे आशीष दूंगा, और तेरा नाम बड़ा करूंगा, और तू आशीष का मूल होगा।
3 और जो तुझे आशीर्वाद दें, उन्हें मैं आशीष दूंगा; और जो तुझे कोसे, उसे मैं शाप दूंगा; और भूमण्डल के सारे कुल तेरे द्वारा आशीष पाएंगे।
4 यहोवा के इस वचन के अनुसार अब्राम चला; और लूत भी उसके संग चला; और जब अब्राम हारान देश से निकला उस समय वह पचहत्तर वर्ष का था।
5 सो अब्राम अपनी पत्नी सारै, और अपने भतीजे लूत को, और जो धन उन्होंने इकट्ठा किया था, और जो प्राणी उन्होंने हारान में प्राप्त किए थे, सब को ले कर कनान देश में जाने को निकल चला; और वे कनान देश में आ भी गए।
6 उस देश के बीच से जाते हुए अब्राम शकेम में, जहां मोरे का बांज वृक्ष है, पंहुचा; उस समय उस देश में कनानी लोग रहते थे।
7 तब यहोवा ने अब्राम को दर्शन देकर कहा, यह देश मैं तेरे वंश को दूंगा: और उसने वहां यहोवा के लिये जिसने उसे दर्शन दिया था, एक वेदी बनाई।
8 फिर वहां से कूच करके, वह उस पहाड़ पर आया, जो बेतेल के पूर्व की ओर है; और अपना तम्बू उस स्थान में खड़ा किया जिसकी पच्छिम की ओर तो बेतेल, और पूर्व की ओर ऐ है; और वहां भी उसने यहोवा के लिये एक वेदी बनाई: और यहोवा से प्रार्थना की
9 और अब्राम कूच करके दक्खिन देश की ओर चला गया॥
10 और उस देश में अकाल पड़ा: और अब्राम मिस्र देश को चला गया कि वहां परदेशी हो कर रहे -- क्योंकि देश में भयंकर अकाल पड़ा था।
11 फिर ऐसा हुआ कि मिस्र के निकट पहुंचकर, उसने अपनी पत्नी सारै से कहा, सुन, मुझे मालूम है, कि तू एक सुन्दर स्त्री है:
12 इस कारण जब मिस्री तुझे देखेंगे, तब कहेंगे, यह उसकी पत्नी है, सो वे मुझ को तो मार डालेंगे, पर तुझ को जीती रख लेंगे।
13 सो यह कहना, कि मैं उसकी बहिन हूं; जिस से तेरे कारण मेरा कल्याण हो और मेरा प्राण तेरे कारण बचे।
14 फिर ऐसा हुआ कि जब अब्राम मिस्र में आया, तब मिस्रियों ने उसकी पत्नी को देखा कि यह अति सुन्दर है।
15 और फिरौन के हाकिमों ने उसको देखकर फिरौन के साम्हने उसकी प्रशंसा की: सो वह स्त्री फिरौन के घर में रखी गई।
16 और उसने उसके कारण अब्राम की भलाई की; सो उसको भेड़-बकरी, गाय-बैल, दास-दासियां, गदहे-गदहियां, और ऊंट मिले।
17 तब यहोवा ने फिरौन और उसके घराने पर, अब्राम की पत्नी सारै के कारण बड़ी बड़ी विपत्तियां डालीं।
18 सो फिरौन ने अब्राम को बुलवा कर कहा, तू ने मुझ से क्या किया है? तू ने मुझे क्यों नहीं बताया कि वह तेरी पत्नी है?
19 तू ने क्यों कहा, कि वह तेरी बहिन है? मैं ने उसे अपनी ही पत्नी बनाने के लिये लिया; परन्तु अब अपनी पत्नी को ले कर यहां से चला जा।
20 और फिरौन ने अपने आदमियों को उसके विषय में आज्ञा दी और उन्होंने उसको और उसकी पत्नी को, सब सम्पत्ति समेत जो उसका था, विदा कर दिया॥

2 And I will make H6213 W-VQY1MS-2MS of thee a great H1419 AMS nation H1471 L-NMS , and I will bless H1288 W-VPY1MS-2MS thee , and make thy name great H1431 W-VPI1MS ; and thou shalt be H1961 W-VQI2MS a blessing H1293 NFS :
3 And I will bless H1288 W-VPY1MS them that bless H1288 VPCMP-2MS thee , and curse H779 VQY1MS him that curseth H7043 W-VPCMS-2MS thee : and in thee shall all H3605 NMS families H4940 CFP of the earth H127 D-NFS be blessed H1288 W-VNQ3MP .

7 And the LORD H3068 EDS appeared H7200 W-VNY3MS unto H413 PREP Abram H87 EMS , and said H559 W-VQY3MS , Unto thy seed H2233 L-CMS-2MS will I give H5414 VQY1MS this H2063 D-DFS land H776 D-GFS : and there H8033 ADV built H1129 W-VQY3MS he an altar H4196 NMS unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , who appeared H7200 D-VNPMS unto H413 PREP him .

12 Therefore it shall come to pass H1961 W-VQQ3MS , when H3588 CONJ the Egyptians H4713 D-TMP shall see H7200 VQY3MP thee , that they shall say H559 W-VQQ3MP , This H2063 DPRO is his wife H802 CFS-3MS : and they will kill H2026 W-VQQ3MP me , but they will save thee alive H2421 VPY3MP .
13 Say H559 VQI2FS , I pray thee H4994 IJEC , thou H859 PPRO-2FS art my sister H269 CFS-1MS : that H4616 L-CONJ it may be well H3190 VQY3MS with me for thy sake H5668 B-CMS-2FS ; and my soul H5315 CFS-1MS shall live H2421 W-VQQ3FS because of H1558 B-CMS-2FS thee .
14 And it came to pass H1961 W-VQY3MS , that , when Abram H87 EMS was come H935 K-VQFC into Egypt H4714 TFS-3FS , the Egyptians H4713 D-TMP beheld H7200 W-VQY3MP the woman H802 D-NFS that H3588 CONJ she H1931 PPRO-3FS was very H3966 ADV fair H3303 AFS .
15 The princes H8269 CMP also of Pharaoh H6547 EMS saw H7200 W-VQY3MP her , and commended H1984 W-VPY3MP her before H413 PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS : and the woman H802 D-NFS was taken H3947 W-VUY3FS into Pharaoh H6547 EMS \'s house H1004 CMS .

20 And Pharaoh H6547 EMS commanded H6680 W-VPY3MS his men H376 NMP concerning H5921 PREP-3MS him : and they sent him away H7971 W-VPY3MP , and his wife H802 CFS-3MS , and all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO he had .
