Esther 5:10 (KJV) King James Version

1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

4 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.

5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

6 And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

7 Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

8 If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.

9 Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.

10 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.

11 And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

12 Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.

13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.

14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

2 And it was ^H1961 ^W-VQY3MS so , when the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS saw ^H7200 Esther ^H635 the queen ^H4436 standing ^H5975 in the court ^H2691 , that she obtained ^H5375 favor ^H2580 ^NMS in his sight ^H5869 ^B-CMD-3MS : and the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS held out ^H3447 to Esther ^H635 the golden ^H2091 scepter ^H8275 that ^H834 ^RPRO was in his hand ^H3027 ^B-CFS-3MS . So Esther ^H635 drew near ^H7126 ^W-VQY3FS , and touched ^H5060 the top ^H7218 ^B-NMS of the scepter ^H8275 .

3 Then said ^H559 ^W-VQY3MS the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS unto her , What ^H4100 ^IPRO wilt thou , queen ^H4436 Esther ^H635 ? and what ^H4100 ^IPRO is thy request ^H1246 ? it shall be even given ^H5414 thee to ^H5704 ^PREP the half ^H2677 of the kingdom ^H4438 .

4 And Esther ^H635 answered ^H559 ^W-VQY3FS , If ^H518 ^PART it seem good ^H2895 unto ^H5921 ^PREP the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS , let the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS and Haman ^H2001 come ^H935 ^VQY3MS this day ^H3117 ^D-AMS unto ^H413 ^PREP the banquet ^H4960 ^D-NMS that ^H834 ^RPRO I have prepared ^H6213 ^VQQ1MS for him .

5 Then the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS said ^H559 ^W-VQY3MS , Cause Haman ^H2001 to make haste ^H4116 , that he may do ^H6213 ^L-VQFC as Esther ^H635 hath said ^H1697 ^CMS . So the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS and Haman ^H2001 came ^H935 ^W-VQY3MS to ^H413 ^PREP the banquet ^H4960 ^D-NMS that ^H834 ^RPRO Esther ^H635 had prepared ^H6213 ^VQQ3MS .

6 And the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS said ^H559 ^W-VQY3MS unto Esther ^H635 at the banquet ^H4960 of wine ^H3196 ^D-NMS , What ^H4100 ^IPRO is thy petition ^H7596 ? and it shall be granted ^H5414 thee : and what ^H4100 ^IPRO is thy request ^H1246 ? even to ^H5704 ^PREP the half ^H2677 of the kingdom ^H4438 it shall be performed ^H6213 .

7 Then answered ^H6030 Esther ^H635 , and said ^H559 , My petition ^H7596 and my request ^H1246 is ;

8 If ^H518 ^PART I have found ^H4672 ^VQQ1MS favor ^H2580 ^NMS in the sight ^H5869 ^B-CMP of the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS , and if ^H518 ^PART it please ^H2895 the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS to grant ^H5414 ^L-VQFC my petition ^H7596 , and to perform ^H6213 my request ^H1246 , let the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS and Haman ^H2001 come ^H935 ^VQY3MS to ^H413 ^PREP the banquet ^H4960 ^D-NMS that ^H834 ^RPRO I shall prepare ^H6213 ^VQY1MS for them , and I will do ^H6213 ^VQY1MS tomorrow ^H4279 as the king ^H4428 hath said ^H1697 ^K-NMS .

9 Then went Haman forth ^W-VQY3MS that ^H1931 ^D-PPRO-3MS day ^H3117 ^B-AMS joyful ^H8056 and with a glad ^H2896 heart ^H3820 ^NMS : but when Haman ^H2001 saw ^H7200 Mordecai ^H4782 in the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS \'s gate ^H8179 , that he stood not up ^H6965 , nor ^H3808 ^W-NPAR moved ^H2111 for ^H4480 ^M-PREP-3MS him ^H2001 , he ^H2001 was full ^H4390 of indignation ^H2534 against ^H5921 ^PREP Mordecai ^H4782 .

10 Nevertheless Haman ^H2001 refrained himself ^H662 : and when he came ^H935 ^W-VQY3MS home ^H1004 ^NMS-3MS , he sent ^H7971 ^W-VQY3MS and called ^H935 ^W-VHY3MS for his friends ^H157 , and Zeresh ^H2238 his wife ^H802 .

11 And Haman ^H2001 told ^H5608 them of the glory ^H3519 of his riches ^H6239 , and the multitude ^H7230 ^W-CMS of his children ^H1121 ^CMP-3MS , and all ^H3605 ^NMS the things wherein ^H834 ^RPRO the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS had promoted ^H1431 him , and how ^H834 ^RPRO he had advanced ^H5375 him above ^H5921 ^PREP the princes ^H8269 and servants ^H5650 of the king ^H4428 .

12 Haman ^H2001 said ^H559 ^W-VQY3MS moreover ^H637 ^CONJ , Yea , Esther ^H635 the queen ^H4436 did let no ^H3808 ^NADV man come in ^H935 with ^H5973 ^PREP the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS unto ^H413 ^PREP the banquet ^H4960 ^D-NMS that ^H834 ^RPRO she had prepared ^H6213 but ^H518 ^PART myself ; and tomorrow ^H4279 am I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS invited ^H7121 unto her also ^H1571 ^W-CONJ with ^H5973 ^PREP the king ^H4428 .

13 Yet all ^H3605 ^W-CMS this ^H2088 ^DPRO availeth ^H7737 me nothing ^H369 , so long ^H3605 ^B-CMS as I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS see ^H7200 ^VQPMS Mordecai ^H4782 the Jew ^H3064 sitting ^H3427 ^VQPMS at the king ^H4428 \'s gate ^H8179 .

14 Then said ^H559 ^W-VQY3FS Zeresh ^H2238 his wife ^H802 ^CFS-3MS and all ^H3605 ^W-CMS his friends ^H157 unto him , Let a gallows ^H6086 ^NMS be made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS of fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 ^UFS high ^H1364 ^AMS , and tomorrow ^H1242 speak ^H559 thou unto the king ^H4428 that Mordecai ^H4782 may be hanged ^H8518 thereon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS : then go ^H935 thou in merrily ^H8056 with ^H5973 ^PREP the king ^H4428 ^D-NMS unto ^H413 ^PREP the banquet ^H4960 ^D-NMS . And the thing ^H1697 ^D-NMS pleased ^H3190 Haman ^H2001 ; and he caused the gallows ^H6086 to be made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS .
