1 Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

2 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.

3 Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.

4 Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?

5 Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that be about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.

6 And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.

7 Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?

8 Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.

9 If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.

10 But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.

11 Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

12 For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.

13 For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.

14 I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.

15 For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.

16 Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.

17 Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.

19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.

21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red sea.

22 Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

24 Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.

25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!

26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.

27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Ben-hadad.

28 Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and spoil the men of the east.

29 Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry unto them, Fear is on every side.

30 Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.

31 Arise, get you up unto the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.

32 And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides thereof, saith the LORD.

33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.

34 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,

35 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.

36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:

38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.

39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.

8 Flee ^H5127 ye , turn back ^H6437 , dwell ^H3427 ^L-VQFC deep ^H6009 , O inhabitants ^H3427 of Dedan ^H1719 ; for ^H3588 ^CONJ I will bring ^H935 the calamity ^H343 ^CMS of Esau ^H6215 upon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MS him , the time ^H6256 ^NMS that I will visit ^H6485 him .

11 Leave ^H5800 thy fatherless children ^H3490 , I ^H589 ^PPRO-1MS will preserve them alive ^H2421 ; and let thy widows ^H490 trust ^H982 in ^H5921 ^PREP-1MS me .

14 I have heard ^H8085 ^VQQ1MS a rumor ^H8052 from the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , and an ambassador ^H6735 is sent ^H7971 unto the heathen ^H1471 , saying , Gather ye together ^H6908 , and come ^H935 ^W-VQI2MP against ^H5921 ^PREP-3FS her , and rise up ^H6965 to the battle ^H4421 .

15 For ^H3588 ^CONJ , lo ^H2009 ^IJEC , I will make ^H5414 thee small ^H6996 ^AMS among the heathen ^H1471 , and despised ^H959 among men ^H120 .

17 Also Edom ^H123 shall be ^H1961 ^W-VQQ3FS a desolation ^H8047 : every one ^H3605 ^NMS that goeth ^H5674 by ^H5921 ^PREP it shall be astonished ^H8074 , and shall hiss ^H8319 ^W-VQY3MS at ^H5921 ^PREP all ^H3605 ^NMS the plagues ^H4347 thereof .

18 As in the overthrow ^H4114 of Sodom ^H5467 ^TFS and Gomorrah ^H6017 ^W-LFS and the neighbor ^H7934 cities thereof , saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , no ^H3808 ^ADV man ^H376 ^NMS shall abide ^H3427 there ^H8033 ^ADV , neither ^H3808 ^ADV shall a son ^H1121 of man ^H120 dwell ^H1481 in it .

24 Damascus ^H1834 is waxed feeble ^H7503 , and turneth herself ^H6437 to flee ^H5127 , and fear ^H7374 hath seized ^H2388 on her : anguish ^H6869 ^NFS and sorrows ^H2256 have taken ^H270 her , as a woman in travail ^H3205 .

25 How ^H349 is the city ^H5892 ^GFS of praise ^H8416 not ^H3808 ^ADV left ^H5800 , the city ^H7151 of my joy ^H4885 !

28 Concerning Kedar ^H6938 , and concerning the kingdoms ^H4467 of Hazor ^H2674 , which ^H834 ^RPRO Nebuchadnezzar ^H5019 king ^H4428 ^NMS of Babylon ^H894 ^LFS shall smite ^H5221 , thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS ; Arise ^H6965 ye , go up ^H5927 to ^H413 ^PREP Kedar ^H6938 , and spoil ^H7703 the men ^H1121 of the east ^H6924 ^NMS .

30 Flee ^H5127 , get ^H5110 you far off ^H3966 ^ADV , dwell ^H3427 ^L-VQFC deep ^H6009 , O ye inhabitants ^H3427 of Hazor ^H2674 , saith ^H5002 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS ; for ^H3588 ^CONJ Nebuchadnezzar ^H5019 king ^H4428 ^NMS of Babylon ^H894 ^LFS hath taken ^H3289 counsel ^H6098 ^NFS against ^H5921 ^PREP-2MP you , and hath conceived ^H2803 a purpose ^H4284 against ^H5921 you .

31 Arise ^H6965 , get you up ^H5927 unto ^H413 ^PREP the wealthy ^H7961 nation ^H1471 ^NMS , that dwelleth ^H3427 ^VQPMS without care ^H983 ^L-NMS , saith ^H5002 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS , which have neither ^H3808 ^NADV gates ^H1817 nor ^H3808 ^ADV bars ^H1280 , which dwell ^H7931 alone ^H910 .

32 And their camels ^H1581 shall be ^H1961 ^W-VQQ3MS a booty ^H957 , and the multitude ^H1995 of their cattle ^H4735 a spoil ^H7998 : and I will scatter ^H2219 into all ^H3605 ^L-CMS winds ^H7307 ^NFS them that are in the utmost ^H7112 corners ^H6285 ; and I will bring ^H935 their calamity ^H343 ^NMS-3MP from all ^H3605 ^WM-CMS sides ^H5676 thereof , saith ^H5002 the LORD ^H3068 ^NAME-4MS .

33 And Hazor ^H2674 shall be ^H1961 ^W-VQQ3FS a dwelling ^H4583 for dragons ^H8577 , and a desolation ^H8077 forever ^H5704 ^PREP : there shall no ^H3808 ^ADV man ^H376 ^NMS abide ^H3427 there ^H8033 ^ADV , nor ^H3808 ^ADV any son ^H1121 of man ^H120 dwell ^H1481 in it .

34 The word ^H1697 ^NMS of the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS that ^H834 ^RPRO came ^H1961 ^VQQ3MS to ^H413 ^PREP Jeremiah ^H3414 the prophet ^H5030 against ^H413 ^PREP Elam ^H5867 ^EMS in the beginning ^H7225 of the reign ^H4438 ^CFP of Zedekiah ^H6667 king ^H4428 ^NMS of Judah ^H3063 , saying ^H559 ^L-VQFC ,

35 Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 ^VQQ3MS the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS of hosts ^H6635 ; Behold ^H2009 , I will break ^H7665 the bow ^H7198 ^CFS of Elam ^H5867 ^EMS , the chief ^H7225 ^CFS of their might ^H1369 .

36 And upon ^H413 ^PREP Elam ^H5867 ^EMS will I bring ^H935 the four ^H702 ^MFS winds ^H7307 ^CFP from the four ^H702 quarters ^H7098 ^CFP of heaven ^H8064 ^D-NMD , and will scatter ^H2219 them toward all ^H3605 those ^H428 ^D-DPRO-3MP winds ^H7307 ^CFP ; and there shall be ^H1961 ^VQY3MS no ^H3808 ^ADV nation ^H1471 whither ^H834 ^RPRO the outcasts ^H5080 of Elam ^H5867 shall not ^H3808 ^ADV come ^H935 ^VQY3MS .

37 For I will cause Elam ^H5867 ^EMS to be dismayed ^H2865 before ^H6440 ^L-CMP their enemies ^H341 , and before ^H6440 ^L-CMP them that seek ^H1245 their life ^H5315 ^CFS-3MP : and I will bring ^H935 evil ^H7451 ^AFS upon ^H5921 ^PREP-3MP them , even my fierce ^H2740 ^CMS anger ^H639 ^CMS-1MS , saith ^H5002 the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS ; and I will send ^H7971 the sword ^H2719 ^D-GFS after ^H310 them , till ^H5704 ^PREP I have consumed ^H3615 them :

38 And I will set ^H7760 ^W-VQQ1MS my throne ^H3678 in Elam ^H5867 , and will destroy ^H6 from thence ^H8033 ^M-ADV the king ^H4428 ^NMS and the princes ^H8269 , saith ^H5002 the LORD ^H3068 ^NAME-4MS .

39 But it shall come to pass ^H1961 ^W-VQQ3MS in the latter ^H319 days ^H3117 ^D-NMP , that I will bring again ^H7725 the captivity ^H7622 ^CFS of Elam ^H5867 ^EMS , saith ^H5002 the LORD ^H3068 ^NAME-4MS .
