And Israel ^H3478 abode ^H3427 in Shittim ^H7851 , and the people ^H5971 began ^H2490 to commit whoredom ^H2181 with ^H413 the daughters ^H1323 of Moab ^H4124 .
2. וַתִּקְרֶאןָ ^H7121 לָעָם ^H5971 לְזִבְחֵי ^H2077 אֱלֹהֵיהֶן ^H430 וַיֹּאכַל ^H398 הָעָם ^H5971 וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּוּ ^H7812 לֵֽאלֹהֵיהֶֽן ^H430 ׃ ^EPUN	2. And they called ^H7121 the people ^H5971 unto the sacrifices ^H2077 of their gods ^H430 : and the people ^H5971 did eat ^H398 , and bowed down ^H7812 to their gods ^H430 .
3. וַיִּצָּמֶד ^H6775 יִשְׂרָאֵל ^H3478 לְבַעַל ^CPUN פְּעוֹר ^H1187 וַיִּֽחַר ^H2734 ־ ^CPUN אַף ^H639 ^CMS יְהוָה ^H3068 ^EDS בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל ^H3478 ׃ ^EPUN	3. And Israel ^H3478 joined himself ^H6775 unto Baal ^H1187 -peor : and the anger ^H639 of the LORD ^H3068 was kindled ^H2734 against Israel ^H3478 .

9. וַיִּהְיוּ ^H1961 ^W-VQY3MP הַמֵּתִים ^H4191 בַּמַּגֵּפָה ^H4046 אַרְבָּעָה ^H702 ^MMS וְעֶשְׂרִים ^H6242 ^W-MMP אָֽלֶף ^H505 ^MMS ׃ ^EPUN פ ^CPUN	9. And those that died ^H4191 in the plague ^H4046 were ^H1961 twenty ^H6242 and four ^H702 thousand ^H505 .
10. וַיְדַבֵּר ^H1696 ^W-VPY3MS יְהוָה ^H3068 ^EDS אֶל ^H413 ^PREP ־ ^CPUN מֹשֶׁה ^H4872 לֵּאמֹֽר ^H559 ׃ ^EPUN	10. And the LORD ^H3068 spoke ^H1696 unto ^H413 Moses ^H4872 , saying ^H559 ,
11. פִּֽינְחָס ^H6372 בֶּן ^CMS ־ ^CPUN אֶלְעָזָר ^H499 בֶּן ^CMS ־ ^CPUN אַהֲרֹן ^H175 הַכֹּהֵן ^H3548 הֵשִׁיב ^H7725 ^VHQ3MS אֶת ^H853 ^PART ־ ^CPUN חֲמָתִי ^H2534 מֵעַל ^H5921 ^M-PREP בְּנֵֽי ^H1121 ־ ^CPUN יִשְׂרָאֵל ^H3478 בְּקַנְאוֹ ^H7068 אֶת ^H853 ^PART ־ ^CPUN קִנְאָתִי ^H7068 בְּתוֹכָם ^H8432 וְלֹא ^H3808 ^W-NPAR ־ ^CPUN כִלִּיתִי ^H3615 אֶת ^H853 ^PART ־ ^CPUN בְּנֵֽי ^H1121 ־ ^CPUN יִשְׂרָאֵל ^H3478 בְּקִנְאָתִֽי ^H7068 ׃ ^EPUN	11. 12. לָכֵן ^H3651 ^L-ADV אֱמֹר ^H559 הִנְנִי ^H2005 ^IJEC-1MS נֹתֵן ^H5414 ^VQPMS לוֹ ^L-PPRO-3MS אֶת ^H853 ^PART ־ ^CPUN בְּרִיתִי ^H1285 ^B-CFS-1MS שָׁלֽוֹם ^H7965 ׃ ^EPUN	12. Wherefore ^H3651 say ^H559 , Behold ^H2009 , I give ^H5414 unto him ^H853 my covenant ^H1285 of peace ^H7965 :
13. וְהָיְתָה ^H1961 ^W-VQQ3FS לּוֹ ^L-OPRO-3MS וּלְזַרְעוֹ ^H2233 אַחֲרָיו ^H310 ^PREP-3MS בְּרִית ^H1285 ^NFS כְּהֻנַּת ^H3550 עוֹלָם ^H5769 ^NMS תַּחַת ^H8478 ^NMS אֲשֶׁר ^H834 ^RPRO קִנֵּא ^H7065 לֵֽאלֹהָיו ^H430 וַיְכַפֵּר ^H3722 עַל ^H5921 ^PREP ־ ^CPUN בְּנֵי ^CMP יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ^H3478 ^LMS ׃ ^EPUN	13. 14. וְשֵׁם ^H8034 ^W-CMS אִישׁ ^H376 ^NMS יִשְׂרָאֵל ^H3478 הַמֻּכֶּה ^H5221 אֲשֶׁר ^H834 ^RPRO הֻכָּה ^H5221 אֶת ^H854 ^PREP ־ ^CPUN הַמִּדְיָנִית ^H4084 זִמְרִי ^H2174 בֶּן ^CMS ־ ^CPUN סָלוּא ^H5543 נְשִׂיא ^H5387 בֵֽית ^H1004 ־ ^CPUN אָב ^H1 ^NMS לַשִּׁמְעֹנִֽי ^H8099 ׃ ^EPUN	14. Now the name ^H8034 of the Israelite ^H376 ^H3478 that was slain ^H5221 even that ^H834 was slain ^H5221 with ^H854 the Midianitish woman ^H4084 , was Zimri ^H2174 , the son ^H1121 of Salu ^H5543 , a prince ^H5387 of a chief ^H1 house ^H1004 among the Simeonites ^H8099 .
15. וְשֵׁם ^H8034 ^W-CMS הָֽאִשָּׁה ^H802 ^D-NFS הַמֻּכָּה ^H5221 הַמִּדְיָנִית ^H4084 כָּזְבִּי ^H3579 בַת ^H1323 ־ ^CPUN צוּר ^H6698 רֹאשׁ ^H7218 ^NMS אֻמּוֹת ^H523 בֵּֽית ^H1004 ־ ^CPUN אָב ^H1 ^NMS בְּמִדְיָן ^H4080 הֽוּא ^H1931 ^PPRO-3MS ׃ ^EPUN פ ^CPUN	15. And the name ^H8034 of the Midianitish ^H4084 woman ^H802 that was slain ^H5221 was Cozbi ^H3579 , the daughter ^H1323 of Zur ^H6698 ; he ^H1931 was head ^H7218 over a people ^H523 , and of a chief ^H1 house ^H1004 in Midian ^H4080 .
16. וַיְדַבֵּר ^H1696 ^W-VPY3MS יְהוָה ^H3068 ^EDS אֶל ^H413 ^PREP ־ ^CPUN מֹשֶׁה ^H4872 לֵּאמֹֽר ^H559 ׃ ^EPUN	16. And the LORD ^H3068 spoke ^H1696 unto ^H413 Moses ^H4872 , saying ^H559 ,
17. צָרוֹר ^H6887 אֶת ^H853 ^PART ־ ^CPUN הַמִּדְיָנִים ^H4084 וְהִכִּיתֶם ^H5221 אוֹתָֽם ^H853 ^PART ׃ ^EPUN	17. Vex ^H6887 ^H853 the Midianites ^H4084 , and smite ^H5221 them:
18. כִּי ^H3588 ^CONJ צֹרְרִים ^H6887 הֵם ^H1992 ^PPRO-3MP לָכֶם ^CPUN בְּנִכְלֵיהֶם ^H5231 אֲשֶׁר ^H834 ^RPRO ־ ^CPUN נִכְּלוּ ^H5230 לָכֶם ^CPUN עַל ^H5921 ^PREP ־ ^CPUN דְּבַר ^H1697 ^CMS ־ ^CPUN פְּעוֹר ^H6465 וְעַל ^H5921 ^PREP ־ ^CPUN דְּבַר ^H1697 ^CMS כָּזְבִּי ^H3579 בַת ^H1323 ־ ^CPUN נְשִׂיא ^H5387 מִדְיָן ^H4080 אֲחֹתָם ^H269 הַמֻּכָּה ^H5221 בְיוֹם ^H3117 ־ ^CPUN הַמַּגֵּפָה ^H4046 עַל ^H5921 ^PREP ־ ^CPUN דְּבַר ^H1697 ^CMS ־ ^CPUN פְּעֽוֹר ^H6465 ׃ ^EPUN וַיְהִי ^H1961 ^W-VQY3MS אַחֲרֵי ^H310 ^PREP הַמַּגֵּפָה ^H4046 פ ^CPUN	18. For ^H3588 they ^H1992 vex ^H6887 you with their wiles ^H5231 , wherewith ^H834 they have beguiled ^H5230 you in ^H5921 the matter ^H1697 of Peor ^H6465 , and in ^H5921 the matter ^H1697 of Cozbi ^H3579 , the daughter ^H1323 of a prince ^H5387 of Midian ^H4080 , their sister ^H269 , which was slain ^H5221 in the day ^H3117 of the plague ^H4046 for Peor's sake ^H5921 ^H1697 ^H6465 .
