1 എന്നാൽ ഗിലെയാദിലെ തിശ്ബിയിൽനിന്നുള്ള തിശ്ബ്യനായ ഏലീയാവു അഹാബിനോടു: ഞാൻ സേവിച്ചുനില്ക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയാണ, ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞല്ലാതെ ഈയാണ്ടുകളിൽ മഞ്ഞും മഴയും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2 പിന്നെ അവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
3 നീ ഇവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു കിഴക്കോട്ടു ചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള കെരീത്ത് തോട്ടിന്നരികെ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്ക.
4 തോട്ടിൽനിന്നു നീ കുടിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം; അവിടെ നിനക്കു ഭക്ഷണം തരേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ കാക്കയോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
5 അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പോയി യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തു; അവൻ ചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള കെരീത്ത് തോട്ടിന്നരികെ പാർത്തു.
6 കാക്ക അവന്നു രാവിലെ അപ്പവും ഇറച്ചിയും വൈകുന്നേരത്തു അപ്പവും ഇറച്ചിയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്കും; തോട്ടിൽനിന്നു അവൻ കുടിക്കും.
7 എന്നാൽ ദേശത്തു മഴ പെയ്യായ്കയാൽ കുറെ ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം തോടു വറ്റിപ്പോയി.
8 അപ്പോൾ അവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
9 നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു സീദോനോടു ചേർന്ന സാരെഫാത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അവിടെ പാർക്ക; നിന്നെ പുലർത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ ഉള്ള ഒരു വിധവയോടു ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
10 അങ്ങനെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു സാരെഫാത്തിന്നു പോയി. അവൻ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവിടെ ഒരു വിധവ വിറകു പെറുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവൻ അവളെ വിളിച്ചു: എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ ഒരു പാത്രത്തിൽ കുറെ വെള്ളം കൊണ്ടുവരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
11 അവൾ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പവും കൂടെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോരേണമേ എന്നു അവൻ അവളോടു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.
12 അതിന്നു അവൾ: നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയാണ, കലത്തിൽ ഒരു പിടി മാവും തുരുത്തിയിൽ അല്പം എണ്ണയും മാത്രമല്ലാതെ എനിക്കു ഒരു അപ്പവും ഇല്ല. ഞാൻ ഇതാ, രണ്ടു വിറകു പെറുക്കുന്നു; ഇതു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു എനിക്കും മകന്നും വേണ്ടി ഒരുക്കി അതു ഞങ്ങൾ തിന്നിട്ടു മരിപ്പാനിരിക്കയാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13 ഏലീയാവു അവളോടു: ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ചെന്നു നീ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ചെയ്ക; എന്നാൽ ആദ്യം എനിക്കു ചെറിയോരു അട ഉണ്ടാക്കി കൊണ്ടുവരിക; പിന്നെ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ മകന്നും വേണ്ടി ഉണ്ടാക്കിക്കൊൾക.
14 യഹോവ ഭൂമിയിൽ മഴ പെയ്യിക്കുന്ന നാൾവരെ കലത്തിലെ മാവു തീർന്നുപോകയില്ല; ഭരണിയിലെ എണ്ണ കുറഞ്ഞുപോകയും ഇല്ല എന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
15 അവൾ ചെന്നു ഏലീയാവു പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു; അങ്ങനെ അവളും അവനും അവളുടെ വീട്ടുകാരും ഏറിയനാൾ അഹോവൃത്തികഴിച്ചു.
16 യഹോവ ഏലീയാവുമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചന പ്രകാരം കലത്തിലെ മാവു തീർന്നുപോയില്ല, ഭരണിയിലെ എണ്ണ കുറഞ്ഞുപോയതുമില്ല.
17 അനന്തരം വീട്ടുടമക്കാരത്തിയായ സ്ത്രീയുടെ മകൻ ദീനം പിടിച്ചു കിടപ്പിലായി; ദീനം കടുത്തിട്ടു അവനിൽ ശ്വാസം ഇല്ലാതെയായി.
18 അപ്പോൾ അവൾ ഏലീയാവോടു: അയ്യോ ദൈവപുരുഷനേ, എനിക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്തു? എന്റെ പാപം ഓർപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും എന്റെ മകനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നും ആകുന്നുവോ നീ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
19 അവൻ അവളോടു: നിന്റെ മകനെ ഇങ്ങു തരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവനെ അവളുടെ മടിയിൽനിന്നെടുത്തു താൻ പാർത്തിരുന്ന മാളികമുറിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു തന്റെ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ കിടത്തി.
20 അവൻ യഹോവയോടു: എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ വന്നു പാർക്കുന്ന ഇവിടത്തെ വിധവയുടെ മകനെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം നീ അവൾക്കു അനർത്ഥം വരുത്തിയോ എന്നു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.
21 പിന്നെ അവൻ കുട്ടിയുടെ മേൽ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം കവിണ്ണുകിടന്നു: എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഈ കുട്ടിയുടെ പ്രാണൻ അവനിൽ മടങ്ങിവരുമാറാകട്ടെ എന്നു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.
22 യഹോവ ഏലീയാവിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേട്ടു; കുട്ടിയുടെ പ്രാണൻ അവനിൽ മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവൻ ജീവിച്ചു.
23 ഏലീയാവു കുട്ടിയെ എടുത്തു മാളികയിൽനിന്നു താഴെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു കൊടുത്തു: ഇതാ, നിന്റെ മകൻ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഏലിയാവു പറഞ്ഞു.
24 സ്ത്രീ ഏലീയാവോടു: നീ ദൈവപുരുഷൻ എന്നും നിന്റെ നാവിന്മേലുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ വചനം സത്യമെന്നും ഞാൻ ഇതിനാൽ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3 Get H1980 VQI2MS thee hence H2088 M-DPRO , and turn H6437 thee eastward H6924 , and hide thyself H5641 by the brook H5158 Cherith H3747 , that H834 RPRO is before H5921 PREP Jordan H3383 .
4 And it shall be H1961 W-VQQ3MS , that thou shalt drink H8354 of the brook H5158 ; and I have commanded H6680 the ravens H6158 to feed H3557 thee there H8033 ADV .
5 So he went H1980 W-VQY3MS and did H6213 W-VQY3MS according unto the word H1697 K-NMS of the LORD H3068 EDS : for he went H1980 W-VQY3MS and dwelt H3427 W-VQY3MS by the brook H5158 Cherith H3747 , that H834 RPRO is before H5921 PREP Jordan H3383 .

10 So he arose H6965 W-VQY3MS and went H1980 W-VQY3MS to Zarephath H6886 . 11 And as she was going H1980 W-VQQ3FS to fetch H3947 L-VQFC it , he called H7121 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP-3FS her , and said H559 W-VQY3MS , Bring H3947 me , I pray thee H4994 IJEC , a morsel H6595 of bread H3899 NMS in thine hand H3027 .
12 And she said H559 W-VQY3FS , As the LORD H3068 EDS thy God H430 CMP-2MS liveth H2416 AMS , I have H3426 ADV not H518 PART a cake H4580 , but H518 PART a handful H4393 of meal H7058 in a barrel H3537 , and a little H4592 oil H8081 NMS in a cruse H6835 : and , behold H2009 , I am gathering H7197 two H8147 ONUM sticks H6086 , that I may go in H935 and dress H6213 it for me and my son H1121 , that we may eat H398 it , and die H4191 .

15 And she went H1980 W-VQQ3FS and did H6213 according to the saying H1697 K-NMS of Elijah H452 : and she H1931 PPRO-3MS , and he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS , and her house H1004 , did eat H398 W-VQY3FS many days H3117 NMP .
16 And the barrel H3537 of meal H7058 wasted H3615 not H3808 NADV , neither H3808 NADV did the cruse H6835 of oil H8081 fail H2637 , according to the word H1697 K-NMS of the LORD H3068 EDS , which H834 RPRO he spoke H1696 VPQ3MS by H3027 B-CFS Elijah H452 .
17 And it came to pass H1961 W-VQY3MS after H310 ADV these H428 D-DPRO-3MP things H1697 AMP , that the son H1121 of the woman H802 D-NFS , the mistress H1172 of the house H1004 , fell sick H2470 ; and his sickness H2483 was H1961 W-VQY3MS so H3966 ADV sore H2389 AMS , that PREP there was no H3808 NADV breath H5397 left H3498 in him .
18 And she said H559 W-VQY3FS unto H413 PREP Elijah H452 , What H4100 IPRO have I to do with thee , O thou man H376 NMS of God H430 D-EDP ? art thou come H935 unto H413 PREP me to call my sin H5771 CMS-1MS to remembrance H2142 , and to slay H4191 my son H1121 ?

22 And the LORD H3068 EDS heard H8085 the voice H6963 B-NMS of Elijah H452 ; and the soul H5315 of the child H3206 came into him again H7725 W-VQY3FS , and he revived H2421 .
23 And Elijah H452 took H3947 W-VQY3MS the child H3206 , and brought him down H3381 out of H4480 PREP the chamber H5944 into the house H1004 , and delivered H5414 him unto his mother H517 : and Elijah H452 said H559 W-VQY3MS , See H7200 , thy son H1121 liveth H2416 AMS .
