Exodus 38:20 (NLT) New Living Translation

1 Next Bezalel used acacia wood to construct the square altar of burnt offering. It was 7-1/2 feet wide, 7-1/2 feet long, and 4-1/2 feet high.

2 He made horns for each of its four corners so that the horns and altar were all one piece. He overlaid the altar with bronze.

3 Then he made all the altar utensils of bronze-- the ash buckets, shovels, basins, meat forks, and firepans.

4 Next he made a bronze grating and installed it halfway down the side of the altar, under the ledge.

5 He cast four rings and attached them to the corners of the bronze grating to hold the carrying poles.

6 He made the poles from acacia wood and overlaid them with bronze.

7 He inserted the poles through the rings on the sides of the altar. The altar was hollow and was made from planks.

8 Bezalel made the bronze washbasin and its bronze stand from bronze mirrors donated by the women who served at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

9 Then Bezalel made the courtyard, which was enclosed with curtains made of finely woven linen. On the south side the curtains were 150 feet long.

10 They were held up by twenty posts set securely in twenty bronze bases. He hung the curtains with silver hooks and rings.

11 He made a similar set of curtains for the north side-- 150 feet of curtains held up by twenty posts set securely in bronze bases. He hung the curtains with silver hooks and rings.

12 The curtains on the west end of the courtyard were 75 feet long, hung with silver hooks and rings and supported by ten posts set into ten bases.

13 The east end, the front, was also 75 feet long.

14 The courtyard entrance was on the east end, flanked by two curtains. The curtain on the right side was 22-1/2 feet long and was supported by three posts set into three bases.

15 The curtain on the left side was also 22-1/2 feet long and was supported by three posts set into three bases.

16 All the curtains used in the courtyard were made of finely woven linen.

17 Each post had a bronze base, and all the hooks and rings were silver. The tops of the posts of the courtyard were overlaid with silver, and the rings to hold up the curtains were made of silver.

18 He made the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard of finely woven linen, and he decorated it with beautiful embroidery in blue, purple, and scarlet thread. It was 30 feet long, and its height was 7-1/2 feet, just like the curtains of the courtyard walls.

19 It was supported by four posts, each set securely in its own bronze base. The tops of the posts were overlaid with silver, and the hooks and rings were also made of silver.

20 All the tent pegs used in the Tabernacle and courtyard were made of bronze.

21 This is an inventory of the materials used in building the Tabernacle of the Covenant. The Levites compiled the figures, as Moses directed, and Ithamar son of Aaron the priest served as recorder.

22 Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

23 He was assisted by Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, a craftsman expert at engraving, designing, and embroidering with blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth.

24 The people brought special offerings of gold totaling 2,193 pounds, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. This gold was used throughout the Tabernacle.

25 The whole community of Israel gave 7,545 pounds of silver, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel.

26 This silver came from the tax collected from each man registered in the census. (The tax is one beka, which is half a shekel, based on the sanctuary shekel.) The tax was collected from 603,550 men who had reached their twentieth birthday.

27 The hundred bases for the frames of the sanctuary walls and for the posts supporting the inner curtain required 7,500 pounds of silver, about 75 pounds for each base.

28 The remaining 45 pounds of silver was used to make the hooks and rings and to overlay the tops of the posts.

29 The people also brought as special offerings 5,310 pounds of bronze,

30 which was used for casting the bases for the posts at the entrance to the Tabernacle, and for the bronze altar with its bronze grating and all the altar utensils.

31 Bronze was also used to make the bases for the posts that supported the curtains around the courtyard, the bases for the curtain at the entrance of the courtyard, and all the tent pegs for the Tabernacle and the courtyard.

2 And he made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS the horns ^H7161 thereof on ^H5921 ^PREP the four ^H702 ^MFS corners ^H6438 of it ; the horns ^H7161 thereof were ^H1961 ^VQQ3MP of ^H4480 ^M-PREP-3MS the same : and he overlaid ^H6823 it with brass ^H5178 .

3 And he made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS all ^H3605 ^NMS the vessels ^H3627 of the altar ^H4196 ^D-NMS , the pots ^H5518 , and the shovels ^H3257 , and the basins ^H4219 , and the fleshhooks ^H4207 , and the firepans ^H4289 : all ^H3605 ^NMS the vessels ^H3627 thereof made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS he of brass ^H5178 .

4 And he made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS for the altar ^H4196 a brazen ^H5178 ^CFS grate ^H4345 of network ^H4639 ^M-CMS under ^H8478 ^NMS the compass ^H3749 thereof beneath ^H4295 unto ^H5704 ^PREP the midst ^H2677 of it .

5 And he cast ^H3332 four ^H702 ^MFS rings ^H2885 for the four ^H702 ^B-BFS ends ^H7099 of the grate ^H4345 of brass ^H5178 , to be places ^H1004 ^NMP for the staves ^H905 .

6 And he made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS the staves ^H905 of shittim ^H7848 wood ^H6086 ^CMP , and overlaid ^H6823 them with brass ^H5178 .

7 And he put ^H935 ^W-VHY3MS the staves ^H905 into the rings ^H2885 on ^H5921 ^PREP the sides ^H6763 of the altar ^H4196 ^D-NMS , to bear ^H5375 it withal ; he made ^H6213 ^VQQ3MS the altar hollow ^H5014 with boards ^H3871 .

8 And he made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS the laver ^H3595 of brass ^H5178 ^CFS , and the foot ^H3653 of it of brass ^H5178 ^CFS , of the looking glasses ^H4759 of the women assembling ^H6633 , which ^H834 ^RPRO assembled ^H6633 at the door ^H6607 ^CMS of the tabernacle ^H168 ^NMS of the congregation ^H4150 .

9 And he made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS the court ^H2691 : on the south ^H5045 side ^H6285 southward ^H8486 the hangings ^H7050 of the court ^H2691 were of fine twined linen ^H8336 , a hundred ^H3967 ^MFS cubits ^H520 :

10 Their pillars ^H5982 were twenty ^H6242 , and their brazen ^H5178 ^CFS sockets ^H134 twenty ^H6242 ; the hooks ^H2053 of the pillars ^H5982 and their fillets ^H2838 were of silver ^H3701 ^NMS .

11 And for the north ^H6828 ^NFS side ^H6285 the hangings were a hundred ^H3967 ^MFS cubits ^H520 , their pillars ^H5982 were twenty ^H6242 , and their sockets ^H134 of brass ^H5178 ^CFS twenty ^H6242 ; the hooks ^H2053 of the pillars ^H5982 and their fillets ^H2838 of silver ^H3701 ^NMS .

12 And for the west ^H3220 ^NMS side ^H6285 were hangings ^H7050 of fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 , their pillars ^H5982 ten ^H6235 , and their sockets ^H134 ten ^H6235 ; the hooks ^H2053 of the pillars ^H5982 and their fillets ^H2838 of silver ^H3701 ^NMS .

13 And for the east ^H6924 side ^H6285 eastward ^H4217 fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 .

14 The hangings ^H7050 of ^H413 ^PREP the one side ^H3802 of the gate were fifteen ^H2568 ^BFS cubits ^H520 ^UFS ; their pillars ^H5982 three ^H7969 ^NFS , and their sockets ^H134 three ^H7969 ^NFS .

15 And for the other ^H8145 ^D-ONUM side ^H3802 of the court ^H2691 gate ^H8179 , on this hand ^H2088 ^M-DPRO and that hand ^H2088 , were hangings ^H7050 of fifteen ^H2568 ^BFS cubits ^H520 ^UFS ; their pillars ^H5982 three ^H7969 ^NFS , and their sockets ^H134 three ^H7969 ^NFS .

16 All ^H3605 ^NMS the hangings ^H7050 of the court ^H2691 round about ^H5439 ^ADV were of fine twined linen ^H8336 .

17 And the sockets ^H134 for the pillars ^H5982 were of brass ^H5178 ^CFS ; the hooks ^H2053 of the pillars ^H5982 and their fillets ^H2838 of silver ^H3701 ^NMS ; and the overlaying ^H6826 of their chapiters ^H7218 ^CMP-3MP of silver ^H3701 ^NMS ; and all ^H3605 ^NMS the pillars ^H5982 of the court ^H2691 were filleted ^H2836 with silver ^H3701 ^NMS .

18 And the hanging ^H4539 for the gate ^H8179 ^NMS of the court ^H2691 was needlework ^H4639 ^M-CMS , of blue ^H8504 , and purple ^H713 , and scarlet ^H8438 , and fine twined linen ^H8336 : and twenty ^H6242 ^W-MMP cubits ^H520 ^UFS was the length ^H753 ^CMS , and the height ^H6967 in the breadth ^H7341 was five ^H2568 ^MFS cubits ^H520 , answerable to ^H5980 the hangings ^H7050 of the court ^H2691 .

19 And their pillars ^H5982 were four ^H702 ^MMS , and their sockets ^H134 of brass ^H5178 ^CFS four ^H702 ^MMS ; their hooks ^H2053 of silver ^H3701 ^NMS , and the overlaying ^H6826 of their chapiters ^H7218 ^CMP-3MP and their fillets ^H2838 of silver ^H3701 ^NMS .

20 And all ^H3605 ^W-CMS the pins ^H3489 of the tabernacle ^H4908 , and of the court ^H2691 round about ^H5439 ^ADV , were of brass ^H5178 .

21 This ^H428 ^PMP is the sum ^H6485 of the tabernacle ^H4908 , even of the tabernacle ^H4908 of testimony ^H5715 , as ^H834 ^RPRO it was counted ^H6485 , according ^H5921 ^PREP to the commandment ^H6310 of Moses ^H4872 , for the service ^H5656 of the Levites ^H3881 , by the hand ^H3027 ^B-CFS of Ithamar ^H385 , son ^H1121 to Aaron ^H175 the priest ^H3548 .

23 And with ^H854 him was Aholiab ^H171 , son ^H1121 of Ahisamach ^H294 , of the tribe ^H4294 of Dan ^H1835 , an engraver ^H2796 , and a cunning workman ^H2803 , and an embroiderer ^H7551 in blue ^H8504 , and in purple ^H713 , and in scarlet ^H8438 , and fine linen ^H8336 .

24 All ^H3605 ^NMS the gold ^H2091 that was occupied ^H6213 for the work ^H4399 in all ^H3605 ^NMS the work ^H4399 of the holy ^H6944 place , even the gold ^H2091 of the offering ^H8573 , was ^H1961 ^W-VQY3MS twenty ^H6242 ^W-MMP and nine ^H8672 ^MFS talents ^H3603 , and seven ^H7651 ^W-BFS hundred ^H3967 ^BFP and thirty ^H7970 ^W-MMP shekels ^H8255 , after the shekel ^H8255 of the sanctuary ^H6944 .

25 And the silver ^H3701 ^W-CMS of them that were numbered ^H6485 of the congregation ^H5712 was a hundred ^H3967 ^BFS talents ^H3603 , and a thousand ^H505 ^W-BMS seven ^H7651 ^W-BFS hundred ^H3967 ^BFP and threescore and fifteen ^H2568 shekels ^H8255 , after the shekel ^H8255 of the sanctuary ^H6944 :

26 A bekah ^H1235 for every man ^H1538 , that is , half ^H4276 a shekel ^H8255 , after the shekel ^H8255 of the sanctuary ^H6944 , for every one ^H3605 that went ^H5674 to ^H5921 ^PREP be numbered ^H6485 , from twenty years old ^H1121 and upward ^H4605 , for six ^H8337 hundred ^H3967 ^BFP thousand ^H505 ^W-BMS and three ^H7969 ^W-RMS thousand ^H505 ^MMP and five ^H2568 ^W-BFS hundred ^H3967 ^BFP and fifty ^H2572 men .

27 And of the hundred ^H3967 ^BFS talents ^H3603 ^CFS of silver ^H3701 were ^H1961 ^W-VQY3MS cast ^H3332 the sockets ^H134 of the sanctuary ^H6944 , and the sockets ^H134 of the veil ^H6532 ; a hundred ^H3967 ^BFS sockets ^H134 of the hundred ^H3967 talents ^H3603 ^D-NFS , a talent ^H3603 for a socket ^H134 .

28 And of the thousand ^H505 seven ^H7651 ^W-BFS hundred ^H3967 seventy ^H7657 ^W-MMP and five ^H2568 shekels he made ^H6213 ^VQQ3MS hooks ^H2053 for the pillars ^H5982 , and overlaid ^H6823 their chapiters ^H7218 ^CMP-3MP , and filleted ^H2836 them .

29 And the brass ^H5178 of the offering ^H8573 was seventy ^H7657 ^ONUM talents ^H3603 , and two thousand ^H505 and four ^H702 ^W-BFS hundred ^H3967 ^BFP shekels ^H8255 .

30 And therewith he made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS the sockets ^H134 to the door ^H6607 ^CMS of the tabernacle ^H168 ^NMS of the congregation ^H4150 ^NMS , and the brazen ^H5178 altar ^H4196 , and the brazen ^H5178 grate ^H4345 for it , and all ^H3605 ^NMS the vessels ^H3627 of the altar ^H4196 ,

31 And the sockets ^H134 of the court ^H2691 round about ^H5439 ^ADV , and the sockets ^H134 of the court ^H2691 gate ^H8179 ^NMS , and all ^H3605 ^NMS the pins ^H3489 of the tabernacle ^H4908 , and all ^H3605 ^NMS the pins ^H3489 of the court ^H2691 round about ^H5439 .
