Joshua 20 (BNV) Bengali Old BSI Version

1 তারপর প্রভু যিহোশূয়কে বললেন,
2 “আমি তোমাকে আদেশ দেবার জন্য মোশিকে ব্যবহার করেছিলাম| মোশি তোমাকে কয়েকটি শহর বাছতে বলেছিলেন য়েগুলো আশ্রয় দেবার জন্য বিশেষ শহর হিসেবে অভিহিত হবে|
3 যদি কোন ব্যক্তি অন্য কাউকে অকস্মাত্‌ অনিচ্ছাকৃতভাবে হত্যা করে তাহলে সে ঐ নিরাপদ শহরগুলির একটিতে গিয়ে লুকিয়ে থাকতে পারবে, য়েন প্রতিশোধ দাতা খুঁজে না পায়|
4 “লোকটিকে যা করতে হবে তা এই: যখন সে ঐ ধরণের কোন শহরে ছুটে পালিয়ে যাবে তখন সেই শহরের প্রবেশ দ্বারে তাকে থামতে হবে| থেমে সেখানকার দলপতিদের কাছে জানাতে হবে ঘটনাটা কি হয়েছিল| সেই সব শুনে তারা তাকে শহরে ঢুকতে দিতে পারে| সেখানে থাকার জন্য তারা তাকে জায়গা দেবে|
5 কিন্তু য়ে ঐ ব্যক্তিটির পেছনে ধাওযা করবে সে হয়তো শহরে এসে তার পিছু নিতে পারে| এরকম ঘটলে নেতারা য়েন তাকে তাড়া করা ব্যক্তিটির হাতে ধরিযে না দেয়| তারা আশ্রয়প্রার্থীকে নিশ্চয়ই রক্ষা করবে| তারা এই কারণেই তাকে রক্ষা করবে য়ে, সে ইচ্ছা করে কাউকে হত্যা করে নি| সেটা নিছকই একটা দুর্ঘটনা| সে রেগে গিয়ে কাউকে হত্যা করবে বলে হত্যা করে নি| এটা হঠাত্‌ই ঘটে গেছে|
6 যতদিন না শহরের বিচার সভায তার বিচার হয় ততদিন সেই ব্যক্তি সেখানে থাকবে| মহাযাজক যতদিন বেঁচে থাকবেন ততদিন সে সেখানে থাকতে পারবে| তারপর সে তার নিজের শহরে অর্থাত্‌ য়েখান থেকে সে পালিয়ে গিয়েছিল সেখানে নিজের বাড়ীতে ফিরে যাবে|”
7 তাই ইস্রায়েলবাসীরা কয়েকটা শহর ঠিক করে নিয়েছিল| তারা এগুলোর নাম দিল, “নিরাপত্তার শহর|” শহরগুলো হচ্ছে:নপ্তালি পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের গালীলের অন্তর্গত কেদশ; ইফ্রয়িমের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের শিখিম; যিহূদা পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের কিরিযত্‌-অর্ব (হিব্রোণ);
8 রূবেণের মরু অঞ্চলের অন্তর্গত য়িরীহোর কাছে যর্দন নদীর পূর্বদিকে বেত্‌সর; গাদ দেশে গিলিয়দের অন্তর্গত রামোত্‌; মনঃশির দেখে বাশনের অন্তর্গত গোলন|
9 য়ে কোন ইস্রায়েলবাসী বা তাদের সঙ্গে বসবাসকারী য়ে কোন বিদেশী হঠাত্‌ যদি কাউকে হত্যা করে, ঐসব শহরে নিরাপত্তার জন্য পালিয়ে য়েতে পারবে| সেখানে সে নিরাপদে থাকতে পারবে| য়ে তাকে ধরবার জন্য ছুটে আসছে সে তাকে হত্যা করতে পারবে না| আশ্রয়প্রার্থীর বিচার হবে সেই শহরের বিচারসভায|
1 The LORD H3068 EDS also spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS unto H413 PREP Joshua H3091 , saying H559 L-VQFC ,
2 Speak H1696 VPFC to H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , saying H559 L-VQFC , Appoint H5414 out for you cities H5892 of refuge H4733 , whereof H834 RPRO I spoke H1696 VPQ1MS unto H413 PREP you by the hand H3027 B-CFS of Moses H4872 :
3 That the slayer H7523 VQPMS that killeth H5221 any person H5315 GFS unawares H7684 and unwittingly H1097 B-ADV may flee H5127 thither H8033 ADV-3FS : and they shall be H1961 W-VQQ3MS your refuge H4733 from the avenger H1350 of blood H1818 .
4 And when he that doth flee H5127 unto H413 PREP one H259 OFS of those H428 D-DPRO-3MP cities H5892 shall stand H5975 W-VQQ3MS at the entering H6607 CMS of the gate H8179 NMS of the city H5892 D-GFS , and shall declare H1696 his cause H1697 CMP-3MS in the ears H241 of the elders H2205 of that H1931 city H5892 D-GFS , they shall take H622 him into the city H5892 unto them , and give H5414 him a place H4725 NUM-MS , that he may dwell H3427 among H5973 them .
5 And if H3588 CONJ the avenger H1350 of blood H1818 pursue H7291 after H310 him , then they shall not H3808 W-NPAR deliver H5462 the slayer H7523 up into his hand H3027 B-CFS-3MS ; because H3588 CONJ he smote H5221 his neighbor H7453 NMS-3MS unwittingly H1097 , and hated H8130 him not H3808 W-NPAR formerly H8543 .
6 And he shall dwell H3427 in that H1931 city H5892 BD-NFS , until H5704 PREP he stand H5975 before H6440 L-CMP the congregation H5712 for judgment H4941 , and until H5704 PREP the death H4194 of the high H1419 D-AMS priest H3548 that H834 RPRO shall be H1961 VQY3MS in those H1992 D-PPRO-3MP days H3117 BD-NMP : then H227 ADV shall the slayer H7523 return H7725 VQY3MS , and come H935 unto H413 PREP his own city H5892 , and unto H413 PREP his own house H1004 NMS-3MS , unto H413 PREP the city H5892 D-GFS from whence H834 RPRO he fled H5127 .
7 And they appointed H6942 Kedesh H6943 in Galilee H1551 in mount H2022 Naphtali H5321 , and Shechem H7927 LMS in mount H2022 Ephraim H669 , and Kirjath H7153 - arba , which H1931 PPRO-3FS is Hebron H2275 , in the mountain H2022 of Judah H3063 .
8 And on the other side H5676 Jordan H3383 by Jericho H3405 eastward H4217 , they assigned H5414 Bezer H1221 in the wilderness H4057 upon the plain H4334 out of the tribe H4294 of Reuben H7205 , and Ramoth H7216 in Gilead H1568 out of the tribe H4294 of Gad H1410 , and Golan H1474 in Bashan H1316 out of the tribe H4294 of Manasseh H4519 .
9 These H428 PMP were H1961 VQQ3MP the cities H5892 appointed H4152 for all H3605 NMS the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and for the stranger H1616 that sojourneth H1481 among H8432 them , that whosoever H3605 NMS killeth H5221 any person H5315 GFS at unawares H7684 might flee H5127 thither H8033 ADV-3FS , and not H3808 W-NPAR die H4191 VQY3MS by the hand H3027 B-CFS of the avenger H1350 of blood H1818 , until H5704 PREP he stood H5975 before H6440 L-CMP the congregation H5712 .
