1 கர்த்தரை, நான் நம்பியிருக்கிறேன். ஏன் என்னை ஓடி ஒளிந்துகொள்ளச் சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்? நீங்கள் என்னிடம், "உன் மலைக்குப் பறவையைப்போல் பறந்து செல்!" என்றீர்கள்.
2 தீயோர் வேட்டைக்காரனைப் போன்றோர். இருளில் அவர்கள் ஒளிவார்கள். அவர்கள் வில்லை வளைத்து அம்பைக் குறிவைப்பார்கள். நல்ல, நேர்மையான இருதயமுள்ள ஜனங்களின் மேல் எய்வார்கள்.
3 நல்லவற்றை அவர்கள் அழித்தால் என்ன நிகழும்? நல்லோர் அப்போது என்ன செய்வார்கள்?
4 கர்த்தர் அவரது பரிசுத்த ஆலயத்தில் இருக்கிறார். பரலோகத்தில் தனது சிங்காசனத்தில் கர்த்தர் வீற்றிருக்கிறார். நடப்பவற்றை கர்த்தர் கண்காணிக்கிறார். கர்த்தருடைய கண்கள் ஜனங்களை நல்லோரா, தீயோரா எனக் கண்டறியும்.
5 கர்த்தர் நல்லோரைத் தேடுகிறார். கர்த்தர் தீயவரையும், கொடியோரையும், வெறுக்கிறார்.
6 தீயோர்மேல் வெப்பமான நிலக்கரியையும், எரியும் கந்தகத்தையும் மழையாய்ப் பொழியச் செய்வார். வெப்பமான எரியும் காற்றைமட்டுமே அத்தீயோர் அனுபவிப்பார்கள்.
7 ஆனால் கர்த்தர் நல்லவர். நல்லதைச் செய்யும் ஜனங்களை அவர் நேசிக்கிறார். நல்லோர் அவருடன் இருப்பார்கள், அவர் முகத்தைக் காண்பார்கள்.
