1 അനന്തരം യാക്കോബ് തലപൊക്കി നോക്കി, ഏശാവും അവനോടുകൂടെ നാനൂറു ആളും വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു; തന്റെ മക്കളെ ലേയയുടെ അടുക്കലും റാഹേലിന്റെ അടുക്കലും രണ്ടു ദാസിമാരുടെ അടുക്കലും വിഭാഗിച്ചു നിർത്തി.
2 അവൻ ദാസിമാരെയും അവരുടെ മക്കളെയും മുമ്പായും ലേയെയും അവളുടെ മക്കളെയും പിന്നാലെയും റാഹേലിനെയും യോസേഫിനെയും ഒടുക്കമായും നിർത്തി.
3 അവൻ അവർക്കു മുമ്പായി കടന്നു ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം സാഷ്ടാംഗം നമസ്കരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു തന്റെ സഹോദരനോടു അടുത്തുചെന്നു.
4 ഏശാവ് ഓടിവന്നു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു, ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ വീണു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു, രണ്ടുപേരും കരഞ്ഞു.
5 പിന്നെ അവൻ തലപൊക്കി സ്ത്രീകളെയും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും കണ്ടു: നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ഇവർ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചുതിന്നു: ദൈവം അടിയന്നു നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന മക്കൾ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
6 അപ്പോൾ ദാസിമാരും മക്കളും അടുത്തുവന്നു നമസ്കരിച്ചു;
7 ലേയയും മക്കളും അടുത്തുവന്നു നമസ്കരിച്ചു; ഒടുവിൽ യോസേഫും റാഹേലും അടുത്തുവന്നു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.
8 ഞാൻ വഴിക്കു കണ്ട ആ കൂട്ടമൊക്കെയും എന്തിന്നു എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: യജമാനന്നു എന്നോടു കൃപതോന്നേണ്ടതിന്നു ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
9 അതിന്നു ഏശാവ്: സഹോദരാ, എനിക്കു വേണ്ടുന്നതു ഉണ്ടു; നിനക്കുള്ളതു നിനക്കു ഇരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
10 അതിന്നു യാക്കോബ്: അങ്ങനെയല്ല, എന്നോടു കൃപ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ സമ്മാനം എന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വാങ്ങേണമേ; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുഖം കാണുന്നതുപോലെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മുഖം കാണുകയും നിനക്കു എന്നോടു ദയ തോന്നുകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ;
11 ഞാൻ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കാഴ്ച വാങ്ങേണമേ; ദൈവം എന്നോടു കൃപ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്കു വേണ്ടുവോളം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നിർബ്ബന്ധിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ അതു വാങ്ങി.
12 പിന്നെ അവൻ: നാം പ്രയാണംചെയ്തു പോക; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി നടക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13 അതിന്നു അവൻ അവനോടു: കുട്ടികൾ നന്നാ ഇളയവർ എന്നും കുറവുള്ള ആടുകളും കന്നുകാലികളും കൂടെ ഉണ്ടെന്നും യജമാനൻ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; അവയെ ഒരു ദിവസം അധികമായി ഓടിച്ചാൽ കൂട്ടമെല്ലാം ചത്തുപോകും.
14 യജമാനൻ അടിയന്നു മുമ്പായി പോയാലും; എന്റെ കൂടെയുള്ള കന്നുകാലികളുടെയും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെയും പ്രാപ്തിക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ഞാൻ സാവധാനത്തിൽ അവയെ നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു സേയീരിൽ യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നുകൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
15 എന്റെ ആളുകളിൽ ചിലരെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിർത്തട്ടെ എന്നു ഏശാവു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: എന്തിന്നു? യജമാനന്റെ കൃപയുണ്ടായാൽ മതി എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
16 അങ്ങനെ ഏശാവ് അന്നു തന്റെ വഴിക്കു സേയീരിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
17 യാക്കോബോ സുക്കോത്തിന്നു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു; തനിക്കു ഒരു വീടു പണിതു; കന്നുകാലിക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു തൊഴുത്തുകളും കെട്ടി; അതു കൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു സുക്കോത്ത് എന്നു പേർ പറയുന്നു.
18 യാക്കോബ് പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിൽനിന്നു വന്നശേഷം കനാൻ ദേശത്തിലെ ശേഖേംപട്ടണത്തിൽ സമാധാനത്തോടെ എത്തി പട്ടണത്തിന്നരികെ പാളയമടിച്ചു.
19 താൻ കൂടാരമടിച്ച നിലം ശെഖേമിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ഹമോരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടു നൂറു വെള്ളിക്കാശിന്നു വാങ്ങി.
20 അവിടെ അവൻ ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു, അതിന്നു ഏൽ-എലോഹേ-യിസ്രായേൽ എന്നു പേർ ഇട്ടു.

2 And he put H7760 W-VQY3MS the handmaids H8198 and their children H3206 CMS-3FP foremost H7223 , and Leah H3812 and her children H3206 after H314 AMP , and Rachel H7354 and Joseph H3130 hindmost H314 .
3 And he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS passed over H5674 VQQ3MS before H6440 L-CMP-3MP them , and bowed himself H7812 to the ground H776 NFS-3FS seven H7651 MFS times H6471 NFP , until H5704 PREP he came near H5066 to H5704 PREP his brother H251 CMP-3MS .
4 And Esau H6215 ran H7323 to meet H7125 L-VQFC-3MS him , and embraced H2263 him , and fell H5307 W-VQY3MS on H5921 PREP his neck H6677 , and kissed H5401 him : and they wept H1058 .
5 And he lifted up H5375 W-VQY3MS his eyes H5869 CMD-3MS , and saw H7200 W-VIY3MS the women H802 D-NFP and the children H3206 ; and said H559 W-VQY3MS , Who H4310 IPRO are those H428 PMP with thee ? And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , The children H3206 which H834 RPRO God H430 EDP hath graciously given H2603 thy servant H5650 .
6 Then the handmaidens H8198 came near H5066 , they H2007 PPRO-3FP and their children H3206 , and they bowed themselves H7812 .
7 And Leah H3812 also H1571 CONJ with her children H3206 came near H5066 , and bowed themselves H7812 : and after H310 W-ADV came Joseph near H5066 and Rachel H7354 , and they bowed themselves H7812 .
8 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , What H4310 IPRO meanest thou by all H3605 NMS this H2088 D-PMS drove H4264 which H834 RPRO I met H6298 ? And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , These are to find H4672 grace H2580 NMS in the sight H5869 B-CMP of my lord H113 .
9 And Esau H6215 said H559 W-VQY3MS , I have H3426 ADV enough H7227 AMS , my brother H251 ; keep H1961 VPY3MS that H834 RPRO thou hast unto thyself .
10 And Jacob H3290 said H559 W-VQY3MS , Nay H408 NPAR , I pray thee H4994 IJEC , if H518 PART now H4994 IJEC I have found H4672 VQQ1MS grace H2580 NMS in thy sight H5869 , then receive H3947 my present H4503 at my hand H3027 : for H3588 CONJ therefore H3651 ADV I have seen H7200 VQQ1MS thy face H6440 CMP , as though I had seen H7200 the face H6440 CMP of God H430 EDP , and thou wast pleased H7521 with me .
11 Take H3947 VQI2MS , I pray thee H4994 IJEC , my blessing H1293 that H834 RPRO is brought H935 to thee ; because H3588 CONJ God H430 EDP hath dealt graciously H2603 with me , and because H3588 CONJ I have H3426 ADV enough H3605 CONJ . And he urged H6484 him , and he took H3947 VQI2MS it .
12 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , Let us take our journey H5265 , and let us go H1980 , and I will go H1980 before H5048 thee .
13 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS him , My lord H113 knoweth H3045 VQPMS that H3588 CONJ the children H3206 are tender H7390 , and the flocks H6629 WD-NMS and herds H1241 with young H5763 are with H5921 me : and if men should overdrive H1849 them one H259 MMS day H3117 NMS , all H3605 NMS the flock H6629 will die H4191 .
14 Let my lord H113 , I pray thee H4994 IJEC , pass over H5674 before H6440 L-CMP his servant H5650 : and I H589 W-PPRO-1MS will lead on H5095 softly H328 , according as H7272 the cattle H4399 that H834 RPRO goeth before H6440 L-CMP me and the children H3206 be able to endure H7272 , until H5704 PREP I come H935 unto H413 PREP my lord H113 unto Seir H8165 .
15 And Esau H6215 said H559 W-VQY3MS , Let me now H4994 IJEC leave H3322 with H5973 PREP-2MS thee some of H4480 PREP the folk H5971 that H834 RPRO are with H854 PREP-1MS me . And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , What H4100 L-IPRO needeth it H2088 PMS ? let me find H4672 VQY1MS grace H2580 NMS in the sight H5869 B-CMP of my lord H113 .
16 So Esau H6215 returned H7725 that H1931 D-PPRO-3MS day H3117 B-AMS on his way H1870 unto Seir H8165 .
17 And Jacob H3290 journeyed H5265 to Succoth H5523 , and built H1129 W-VQY3MS him a house H1004 , and made H6213 VQQ3MS booths H5521 for his cattle H4735 : therefore H3651 ADV the name H8034 CMS of the place H4725 D-NMS is called H7121 VQQ3MS Succoth H5523 .
18 And Jacob H3290 came H935 W-VQY3MS to Shalem H8003 , a city H5892 GFS of Shechem H7927 LMS , which H834 RPRO is in the land H776 B-GFS of Canaan H3667 LMS , when he came H935 from Padan H6307 - aram ; and pitched his tent H2583 before H6440 CMP the city H5892 D-GFS .
19 And he bought H7069 a parcel H2513 of a field H7704 D-NMS , where H834 RPRO he had spread H5186 his tent H168 , at the hand H3027 M-GFS of the children H1121 of Hamor H2544 , Shechem H7928 \'s father H1 CMS-1MS , for a hundred H3967 pieces of money H7192 .
