1 എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടിൽ മീഖാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
2 അവൻ തന്റെ അമ്മയോടു: നിനക്കു കളവുപോയതും നീ ഒരു ശപഥം ചെയ്തു ഞാൻ കേൾക്കെ പറഞ്ഞതുമായ ആയിരത്തൊരുനൂറു വെള്ളിപ്പണം ഇതാ, എന്റെ പക്കൽ ഉണ്ടു; ഞാനാകുന്നു അതു എടുത്തതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്റെ മകനേ, നീ യഹോവയാൽ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നു അവന്റെ അമ്മ പറഞ്ഞു.
3 അവൻ ആ ആയിരത്തൊരുനൂറു വെള്ളിപ്പണം അമ്മെക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊടുത്തപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ അമ്മ: കൊത്തുപണിയും വാർപ്പുപണിയുമായ ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ ഈ വെള്ളി എന്റെ മകന്നുവേണ്ടി യഹോവെക്കു നേർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ അതു നിനക്കു മടക്കിത്തരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 അവൻ വെള്ളി തന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊടുത്തപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ അമ്മ ഇരുനൂറു വെള്ളിപ്പണം എടുത്തു തട്ടാന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ അതുകൊണ്ടു കൊത്തുപണിയും വാർപ്പുപണിയുമായ ഒരു വിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അതു മീഖാവിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
5 മീഖാവിന്നു ഒരു ദേവമന്ദിരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ഒരു ഏഫോദും ഗൃഹബിംബവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിച്ചു തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ കരപൂരണം കഴിച്ചു; അവൻ അവന്റെ പുരോഹിതനായ്തീർന്നു.
6 അക്കാലത്തു യിസ്രായേലിൽ രാജാവില്ലായിരുന്നു; ഓരോരുത്തൻ ബോധിച്ചതു പോലെ നടന്നു.
7 യെഹൂദയിലെ ബേത്ത്--ലേഹെമ്യനായി യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്നു വന്നിരുന്ന ഒരു യുവാവു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ ലേവ്യനും അവിടെ വന്നുപാർത്തവനുമത്രേ.
8 തരംകിട്ടുന്നേടത്തു ചെന്നു പാർപ്പാൻ വേണ്ടി അവൻ യെഹൂദയിലെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെംപട്ടണം വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു തന്റെ പ്രയാണത്തിൽ എഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടിൽ മീഖാവിന്റെ വീടുവരെ എത്തി.
9 മീഖാവു അവനോടു: നീ എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഞാൻ യെഹൂദയിലെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽനിന്നു വരുന്ന ഒരു ലേവ്യൻ ആകുന്നു; തരം കിട്ടുന്നേടത്തു പാർപ്പാൻ പോകയാകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
10 മീഖാവു അവനോടു: നീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാർത്തു എനിക്കു പിതാവും പുരോഹിതനുമായിരിക്ക; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ആണ്ടിൽ പത്തു വെള്ളിപ്പണവും ഉടുപ്പും ഭക്ഷണവും തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അങ്ങനെ ലേവ്യൻ അകത്തു ചെന്നു.
11 അവനോടുകൂടെ പാർപ്പാൻ ലേവ്യന്നു സമ്മതമായി; ആ യുവാവു അവന്നു സ്വന്തപുത്രന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെപ്പോലെ ആയ്തീർന്നു.
12 മീഖാവു ലേവ്യനെ കരപൂരണം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു; യുവാവു അവന്നു പുരോഹിതനായ്തീർന്നു മീഖാവിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പാർത്തു.
13 ഒരു ലേവ്യൻ എനിക്കു പുരോഹിതനായിരിക്കയാൽ യഹോവ എനിക്കു നന്മചെയ്യുമെന്നു ഇപ്പോൾ തീർച്ചതന്നേ എന്നു മീഖാവു പറഞ്ഞു.

2 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS unto his mother H517 , The eleven hundred H3967 shekels of silver H3701 that H834 RPRO were taken H3947 from thee , about which thou H859 cursedst H422 , and spakest H559 W-VQY3MS of also H1571 W-CONJ in mine ears H241 , behold H2009 IJEC , the silver H3701 is with H854 PREP-1MS me ; I H589 PPRO-1MS took H3947 it . And his mother H517 GFS-3MS said H559 W-VQY3MS , Blessed H1288 VWQ3MS be thou of the LORD H3068 , my son H1121 NMS-1MS .
3 And when he had restored H7725 W-VHY3MS the eleven hundred H3967 shekels of silver H3701 to his mother H517 , his mother H517 GFS-3MS said H559 W-VQY3FS , I had wholly dedicated H6942 the silver H3701 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS from my hand H3027 for my son H1121 , to make H6213 a graven image H6459 and a molten image H4541 : now H6258 W-ADV therefore I will restore H7725 it unto thee .
4 Yet he restored H7725 W-VHY3MS the money H3701 unto his mother H517 ; and his mother H517 GFS-3MS took H3947 W-VQY3FS two hundred H3967 MFD shekels of silver H3701 NMS , and gave H5414 them to the founder H6884 , who made H6213 thereof a graven image H6459 and a molten image H4541 : and they were H1961 W-VQY3MS in the house H1004 B-CMS of Micah H4321 .
5 And the man H376 Micah H4318 had a house H1004 CMS of gods H430 EDP , and made H6213 W-VQY3MS an ephod H646 , and teraphim H8655 , and consecrated H4390 one H259 of his sons H1121 , who became H1961 W-VQY3MS his priest H3548 .
6 In those H1992 D-PPRO-3MP days H3117 BD-NMP there was no H369 NPAR king H4428 NMS in Israel H3478 , but every man H376 NMS did H6213 VQY3MS that which was right H3477 in his own eyes H5869 B-CMD-3MS .
7 And there was H1961 W-VQY3MS a young man H5288 out of Bethlehem H1035 - judah of the family H4940 M-CFS of Judah H3063 , who H1931 W-PPRO-3MS was a Levite H3881 , and he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS sojourned H1481 there H8033 ADV .
8 And the man H376 D-NMS departed H1980 W-VQY3MS out of the city H5892 from Bethlehem H1035 - judah to sojourn H1481 L-VQFC where H834 B-RPRO he could find H4672 VQY3MS a place : and he came H935 W-VQY3MS to mount H2022 CMS Ephraim H669 to H5704 PREP the house H1004 CMS of Micah H4318 , as he journeyed H6213 L-VQFC .
9 And Micah H4318 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto him , Whence H370 M-ADV comest H935 VQY2MS thou ? And he said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS him , I H595 PPRO-1MS am a Levite H3881 of Bethlehem H1035 - judah , and I H595 W-PPRO-1MS go H1980 to sojourn H1481 L-VQFC where H834 B-RPRO I may find H4672 a place .
10 And Micah H4318 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto him , Dwell H3427 with H5978 PREP-1MS me , and be H1961 unto me a father H1 and a priest H3548 , and I H595 W-PPRO-1MS will give H5414 thee ten H6235 shekels of silver H3701 NMS by the year H3117 , and a suit H6187 of apparel H899 , and thy victuals H4241 . So the Levite H3881 went in H1980 W-VQY3MS .
11 And the Levite H3881 was content H2974 to dwell H3427 L-VQFC with H854 PREP the man H376 D-NMS ; and the young man H5288 was H1961 W-VQY3MS unto him as one H259 K-NMS of his sons H1121 .
12 And Micah H4318 consecrated H4390 the Levite H3881 ; and the young man H5288 became H1961 W-VQY3MS his priest H3548 , and was H1961 W-VQY3MS in the house H1004 B-CMS of Micah H4318 .
13 Then said H559 W-VQY3MS Micah H4318 , Now H6258 ADV know H3045 VQY1MS I that H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS will do me good H3190 , seeing H3588 CONJ I have H1961 VQQ3MS a Levite H3881 to my priest H3548 .
