1 Corinthians 15:32 (RV) Revised Version

1 Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand,
2 by which also ye are saved; {cf15i I make known, I say}, in what words I preached it unto you, if ye hold it fast, except ye believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;
5 and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve;
6 then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep;
7 then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;
8 and last of all, as unto one born out of due time, he appeared to me also.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Whether then {cf15i it be} I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Now if Christ is preached that he hath been raised from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither hath Christ been raised:
14 and if Christ hath not been raised, then is our preaching vain, your faith also is vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we witnessed of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead are not raised.
16 For if the dead are not raised, neither hath Christ been raised:
17 and if Christ hath not been raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
19 If in this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most pitiable.
20 But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of them that are asleep.
21 For since by man {cf15i came} death, by man {cf15i came} also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ-s, at his coming.
24 Then {cf15i cometh} the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.
27 For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him.
28 And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all.
29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?
30 Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?
31 I protest by that glorying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
33 Be not deceived: Evil company doth corrupt good manners.
34 Awake up righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak {cf15i this} to move you to shame.
35 But some one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come?
36 Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other kind;
38 but God giveth it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one {cf15i flesh} of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the {cf15i glory} of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 it is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual {cf15i body}.
45 So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam {cf15i became} a life-giving spirit.
46 Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law:
57 but thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not vain in the Lord.

3 For G1063 CONJ I delivered G3860 V-AAI-1S unto you G5213 P-2DP first of all G1722 PREP that which G3739 R-ASN I also G2532 CONJ received G3880 V-2AAI-1S , how that G3754 CONJ Christ G5547 N-NSM died G599 V-2AAI-3S for G5228 PREP our G3588 T-GPF sins G266 N-GPF according G2596 PREP to the G3588 T-APF Scriptures G1124 N-APF ;

9 For G1063 CONJ I G1473 P-1NS am G1510 V-PXI-1S the G3588 T-NSM least G1646 A-NSM of G3588 T-GPM the G3588 T-GPM apostles G652 N-GPM , that G3739 R-NSM am G1510 V-PXI-1S not G3756 PRT-N meet G2425 A-NSM to be called G2564 V-PPN an apostle G652 N-NSM , because G1360 CONJ I persecuted G1377 V-AAI-1S the G3588 T-ASF church G1577 N-ASF of God G2316 N-GSM .
10 But G1161 CONJ by the grace G5485 N-DSF of God G2316 N-GSM I am G1510 V-PXI-1S what G3739 R-NSN I am G1510 V-PXI-1S : and G2532 CONJ his G3588 T-NSF grace G5485 N-NSF which G3588 T-NSF was bestowed upon G1519 PREP me G1691 P-1AS was G1096 V-AOI-3S not G3756 PRT-N in vain G2756 A-NSF ; but G235 CONJ I labored G2872 V-AAI-1S more abundantly G4054 than they G846 P-GSM all G3956 A-GPM : yet G1161 CONJ not G3756 PRT-N I G1473 P-1NS , but G235 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF grace G5485 N-NSF of God G2316 N-GSM which G3588 T-NSF was with G4862 PREP me G1698 P-1DS .
11 Therefore G3767 CONJ whether G1535 CONJ it were I G1473 P-1NS or they G1565 D-NPM , so G3779 ADV we preach G2784 V-PAI-1P , and G2532 CONJ so G3779 ADV ye believed G4100 V-AAI-2P .
12 Now G1161 CONJ if G1487 COND Christ G5547 N-NSM be preached G2784 V-PPI-3S that G3754 CONJ he rose G1453 V-RPI-3S from G1537 PREP the dead G3498 A-GPM , how G4459 ADV-I say G3004 V-PAI-3P some G5100 X-NPM among G1722 PREP you G5213 P-2DP that G3754 CONJ there is G2076 V-PXI-3S no G3756 PRT-N resurrection G386 N-NSF of the dead G3498 A-GPM ?
13 But G1161 CONJ if G1487 COND there be G2076 V-PXI-3S no G3756 PRT-N resurrection G386 N-NSF of the dead G3498 A-GPM , then is Christ G5547 N-NSM not G3761 ADV risen G1453 V-RPI-3S :
14 And G1161 CONJ if G1487 COND Christ G5547 N-NSM be not G3756 PRT-N risen G1453 V-RPI-3S , then G686 PRT is our G3588 T-NSN preaching G2782 N-NSN vain G2756 A-NSN , and G1161 CONJ your G3588 T-NSF faith G4102 N-NSF is also G2532 CONJ vain G2756 A-NSF .
15 Yea G1161 CONJ , and G2532 CONJ we are found G2147 V-PPI-1P false witnesses G5575 N-NPM of God G2316 N-GSM ; because G3754 CONJ we have testified G3140 V-AAI-1P of G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM that G3754 CONJ he G3588 T-ASM raised up G1453 V-AAI-3S Christ G5547 N-ASM : whom G3739 R-ASM he raised not up G1453 V-AAI-3S , if so be that COND the dead G3498 A-NPM rise G1453 V-PPI-3P not G3756 PRT-N .
16 For G1063 CONJ if G1487 COND the dead G3498 A-NPM rise G1453 V-PPI-3P not G3756 PRT-N , then is not G3761 ADV Christ G5547 N-NSM raised G1453 V-RPI-3S :
17 And G1161 CONJ if G1487 COND Christ G5547 N-NSM be not G3756 PRT-N raised G1453 V-RPI-3S , your G3588 T-NSF faith G4102 N-NSF is vain G3152 A-NSF ; ye are G2075 V-PXI-2P yet G2089 ADV in G1722 PREP your G3588 T-DPF sins G266 N-DPF .
18 Then G686 PRT they also which are fallen asleep G2837 V-APP-NPM in G1722 PREP Christ G5547 N-DSM are perished G622 V-2AMI-3P .
19 If G1487 COND in G1722 PREP this G3588 T-DSF life G2222 N-DSF only G3440 ADV we have G2070 V-PXI-1P hope G1679 V-RAP-NPM in G1722 PREP Christ G5547 N-DSM , we are G2070 V-PXI-1P of all G3956 A-GPM men G444 N-GPM most miserable G1652 A-NPM-C .
20 But G1161 CONJ now G3570 ADV is Christ G5547 N-NSM risen G1453 V-RPI-3S from G1537 PREP the dead G3498 A-GPM , and become G1096 V-2ADI-3S the G3588 T-GPM firstfruits G536 N-NSF of them that slept G2837 V-RPP-GPM .
21 For G1063 CONJ since G1894 CONJ by G1223 PREP man G444 N-GSM came death G2288 N-NSM , by G1223 PREP man G444 N-GSM came also G2532 CONJ the resurrection G386 N-NSF of the dead G3498 A-GPM .
22 For G1063 CONJ as G5618 ADV in G1722 PREP Adam G76 N-PRI all G3956 A-NPM die G599 V-PAI-3P , even G2532 CONJ so G3779 ADV in G1722 PREP Christ G5547 N-DSM shall all G3956 A-NPM be made alive G2227 V-FPI-3P .
23 But G1161 CONJ every man G1538 A-NSM in G1722 PREP his own G2398 A-DSM order G5001 N-DSN : Christ G5547 N-NSM the firstfruits G536 N-NSF ; afterward G1899 ADV they G3588 T-GSM that are Christ G5547 N-GSM \'s at G1722 PREP his G3588 T-DSF coming G3952 N-DSF .
24 Then G1534 ADV cometh the G3588 T-NSN end G5056 N-NSN , when G3752 CONJ he shall have delivered up G3860 V-2AAS-3S the G3588 T-ASF kingdom G932 N-ASF to God G2316 N-DSM , even G2532 CONJ the Father G3962 N-DSM ; when G3752 CONJ he shall have put down G2673 V-AAS-3S all G3956 A-ASF rule G746 N-ASF and G2532 CONJ all G3956 A-ASF authority G1849 N-ASF and G2532 CONJ power G1411 N-ASF .
25 For G1063 CONJ he G846 P-ASM must G1163 V-PQI-3S reign G936 V-PAN , till G891 PREP he hath put G5087 V-2AAS-3S all G3956 A-APM enemies G2190 A-APM under G5259 PREP his G3588 T-APM feet G4228 N-APM .
26 The last G2078 A-NSM enemy G2190 A-NSM that shall be destroyed G2673 V-PPI-3S is death G2288 N-NSM .
27 For G1063 CONJ he hath put G5293 V-AAI-3S all things G3956 A-APN under G5259 PREP his G3588 T-APM feet G4228 N-APM . But G1161 CONJ when G3752 CONJ he saith G2036 V-2AAS-3S all things G3956 A-NPN are put under G5293 V-RPI-3S him , it is manifest G1212 A-NSN that G3754 CONJ he is excepted G1622 ADV , which did put all things under G5293 V-AAP-GSM him G846 P-GSM .
28 And G1161 CONJ when G3752 CONJ all things G3956 A-APN shall be subdued unto G5293 V-2APS-3S him G846 P-DSM , then G5119 ADV shall the G3588 T-NSM Son G5207 N-NSM also G2532 CONJ himself G848 be subject G5293 V-2FPI-3S unto him that put all things under G5293 V-AAP-DSM him G846 P-NSM , that G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM may be G5600 V-PXS-3S all G3956 A-APN in G1722 PREP all G3956 A-NPN .
29 Else G1893 CONJ what G5101 I-ASN shall they G3588 T-NPM do G4160 V-FAI-3P which are baptized G907 V-PPP-NPM for G5228 PREP the G3588 T-GPM dead G3498 A-GPM , if G1487 COND the dead G3498 A-NPM rise G1453 V-PPI-3P not G3756 PRT-N at all G3654 ADV ? why G5101 I-ASN are they then G2532 CONJ baptized G907 V-PPI-3P for G5228 PREP the G3588 T-GPM dead G3498 A-GPM ?
30 And G2532 CONJ why G5101 I-ASN stand we in jeopardy G2793 V-PAI-1P every G3956 A-ASF hour G5610 N-ASF ?

34 Awake G1594 V-AAM-2P to righteousness G1346 ADV , and G2532 CONJ sin G264 V-PAM-2P not G3361 PRT-N ; for G1063 CONJ some G5100 X-NPM have not the knowledge G56 N-ASF of God G2316 N-GSM : I speak G3004 V-PAI-1S this to G4314 PREP your G5213 P-2DP shame G1791 N-ASF .
35 But G235 CONJ some G5100 X-NSM man will say G2046 V-FAI-3S , How G4459 ADV-I are the G3588 T-NPM dead G3498 A-NPM raised up G1453 V-PPI-3P ? and G1161 CONJ with what G4169 I-DSN body G4983 N-DSN do they come G2064 V-PNI-3P ?
36 Thou fool G878 A-VSM , that which G3739 R-NSN thou G4771 P-2NS sowest G4687 V-PAI-2S is not G3756 PRT-N quickened G2227 V-PPI-3S , except G3362 it die G599 V-2AAS-3S :
37 And G2532 CONJ that which G3739 R-NSN thou sowest G4687 V-PAI-2S , thou sowest G4687 V-PAI-2S not G3756 PRT-N that G3588 T-ASN body G4983 N-ASN that shall be G1096 V-FDP-ASN , but G235 CONJ bare G1131 A-ASM grain G2848 N-ASM , it may chance G5177 V-2AAO-3S of wheat G4621 N-GSM , or G2228 PRT of G3588 T-GPM some G3588 T-GPM other G3062 A-GPM grain :
38 But G1161 CONJ God G2316 N-NSM giveth G1325 V-PAI-3S it G846 P-DSM a body G4983 N-ASN as G2531 ADV it hath pleased G2309 V-AAI-3S him , and G2532 CONJ to every G1538 A-DSN seed G4690 N-GPN his own G2398 A-ASN body G4983 N-ASN .
39 All G3956 A-NSF flesh G4561 N-NSF is not G3756 PRT-N the G3588 T-NSF same G846 P-NSF flesh G4561 N-NSF : but G235 CONJ there is one G243 A-NSF kind G3303 PRT of PRT flesh G4561 N-NSF of men G444 N-GPM , another G243 A-NSF flesh G4561 N-NSF of beasts G2934 N-GPN , another G243 A-NSF of fishes G2486 N-GPM , and CONJ another G1161 CONJ of birds G4421 A-GPN .
40 There are also G2532 CONJ celestial G2032 A-NPN bodies G4983 N-NPN , and G2532 CONJ bodies G4983 N-NPN terrestrial G1919 A-NPN : but G235 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF glory G1391 N-NSF of G3588 T-GPN the G3588 T-GPN celestial G2032 A-GPN is A-NSF one G2087 A-NSF , and G1161 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF glory of G3588 T-GPN the G3588 T-GPN terrestrial G1919 A-GPN is another G2087 A-NSF .
41 There is one G243 A-NSF glory G1391 N-NSF of the sun G2246 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ another G243 A-NSF glory G1391 N-NSF of the moon G4582 N-GSF , and G2532 CONJ another G243 A-NSF glory G1391 N-NSF of the stars G792 N-GPM : for G1063 CONJ one star G792 N-NSM differeth from G1308 V-PAI-3S another star G792 N-GSM in G1722 PREP glory G1391 N-DSF .
42 So G3779 ADV also G2532 CONJ is the G3588 T-NSF resurrection G386 N-NSF of G3588 T-GPM the G3588 T-GPM dead G3498 A-GPM . It is sown G4687 V-PPI-3S in G1722 PREP corruption G5356 N-DSF ; it is raised G1453 V-PPI-3S in G1722 PREP incorruption G861 N-DSF :
43 It is sown G4687 V-PPI-3S in G1722 PREP dishonor G819 N-DSF ; it is raised G1453 V-PPI-3S in G1722 PREP glory G1391 N-DSF : it is sown G4687 V-PPI-3S in G1722 PREP weakness G769 N-DSF ; it is raised G1453 V-PPI-3S in G1722 PREP power G1411 N-DSF :
44 It is sown G4687 V-PPI-3S a natural G5591 A-NSN body G4983 N-NSN ; it is raised G1453 V-PPI-3S a spiritual G4152 A-NSN body G4983 N-NSN . There is G2076 V-PXI-3S a natural G5591 A-NSN body G4983 N-NSN , and G2532 CONJ there is G2076 V-PXI-3S a spiritual G4152 A-NSN body G4983 N-NSN .
45 And G2532 CONJ so G3779 ADV it is written G1125 V-RPI-3S , The G3588 T-NSM first G4413 A-NSM man G444 N-NSM Adam G76 N-PRI was made G1096 V-2ADI-3S a G1519 PREP living G2198 V-PAP-ASF soul G5590 N-ASF ; the G3588 T-NSM last G2078 A-NSM Adam G76 N-PRI was made G1519 PREP a quickening G2227 V-PAP-ASN spirit G4151 N-ASN .
46 Howbeit G235 CONJ that was not G3756 PRT-N first G4412 ADV which is spiritual G4152 A-NSN , but G235 CONJ that which is natural G5591 A-NSN ; and afterward G1899 ADV that which is spiritual G4152 A-NSN .
47 The G3588 T-NSM first G4413 A-NSM man G444 N-NSM is of G1537 PREP the earth G1093 N-GSF , earthy G5517 A-NSM : the G3588 T-NSM second G1208 A-NSM man G444 N-NSM is the G3588 T-NSM Lord G2962 N-NSM from G1537 PREP heaven G3772 N-GSM .
48 As G3634 K-NSM is the G3588 T-NSM earthy G5517 A-NSM , such G5108 D-NPM are they also that are earthy G5517 A-NPM : and G2532 CONJ as G3634 K-NSM is the G3588 T-NSM heavenly G2032 A-NSM , such G5108 D-NPM are they also that are heavenly G2032 A-NPM .
49 And G2532 CONJ as G2531 ADV we have borne G5409 V-AAI-1P the G3588 T-ASF image G1504 N-ASF of G3588 T-GSM the G3588 T-GSM earthy G5517 A-GSM , we shall also G2532 CONJ bear G5409 V-AAS-1P the G3588 T-ASF image G1504 N-ASF of G3588 T-GSM the G3588 T-GSM heavenly G2032 A-GSM .
50 Now G1161 CONJ this G5124 D-ASN I say G5346 V-PXI-1S , brethren G80 N-VPM , that G3754 CONJ flesh G4561 N-NSF and G2532 CONJ blood G129 N-NSN cannot G1410 V-PNI-3P inherit G2816 V-AAN the kingdom G932 N-ASF of God G2316 N-GSM ; neither G3761 ADV doth corruption G5356 N-NSF inherit G2816 V-PAI-3S incorruption G861 N-ASF .
51 Behold G2400 V-2AAM-2S , I show G3004 V-PAI-1S you G5213 P-2DP a mystery G3466 N-ASN ; We shall not G3756 PRT-N all G3956 A-NPM sleep G2837 V-FPI-1P , but G1161 CONJ we shall all G3956 A-NPM be changed G236 V-2FPI-1P ,
