1 Kings 4:22 (RV) Revised Version

1 And king Solomon was king over all Israel.
2 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest;
3 Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder;
4 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;
5 and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; and Zabud the son of Nathan was priest, {cf15i and} the king-s friend;
6 and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the levy.
7 And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man had to make provision for a month in the year:
8 And these are their names: Ben-hur, in the hill country of Ephraim:
9 Ben-deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan:
10 Ben-hesed, in Arubboth; to him {cf15i pertained} Socoh, and all the land of Hepher:
11 Ben-abinadab, in all the height of Dor; he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
12 Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-shean which is beside Zarethan, beneath Jezreel, from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah, as far as beyond Jokmeam:
13 Ben-geber, in Ramoth-gilead; to him {cf15i pertained} the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; {cf15i even} to him {cf15i pertained} the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brasen bars:
14 Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim:
15 Ahimaaz, in Naphtali; he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon to wife:
16 Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth:
17 Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar:
18 Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin:
19 Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and {cf15i he was} the only officer which was in the land.
20 Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry.
21 And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
22 And Solomon-s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal;
23 ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and gazelles, and roebucks, and fatted fowl.
24 For he had dominion over all {cf15i the region} on this side the River, from Tipsah even to Gaza, over all the kings on this side the River: and he had peace on all sides round about him.
25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.
26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27 And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon-s table, every man in his month: they let nothing be lacking.
28 Barley also and straw for the horses and swift steeds brought they unto the place where {cf15i the officers} were, every man according to his charge.
29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.
30 And Solomon-s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all the nations round about.
32 And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.
33 And he spake of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
34 And there came of all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.

25 And Judah H3063 and Israel H3478 dwelt H3427 W-VQY3MS safely H983 L-NMS , every man H376 under H8478 NMS his vine H1612 and under H8478 NMS his fig tree H8384 , from Dan H1835 even to H5704 W-PREP Beer H884 - sheba , all H3605 NMS the days H3117 CMP of Solomon H8010 .
26 And Solomon H8010 had H1961 W-VQY3MS forty H705 MMP thousand H505 W-BMS stalls H723 of horses H5483 for his chariots H4817 , and twelve H8147 thousand H505 W-BMS horsemen H6571 .
27 And those H428 D-DPRO-3MP officers H5324 provided victual H3557 for king H4428 D-NMS Solomon H8010 MMS , and for all H3605 that came H7131 unto H413 king H4428 Solomon H8010 MMS \'s table H7979 , every man H376 in his month H2320 : they lacked H5737 nothing H3808 NADV .
28 Barley H8184 also and straw H8401 for the horses H5483 and dromedaries H7409 brought H935 they unto H413 PREP the place H4725 D-NMS where H834 RPRO the officers were H1961 VQY3MS , every man H376 according to his charge H4941 .
29 And God H430 EDP gave H5414 W-VQQ3MS Solomon H8010 wisdom H2451 NFS and understanding H8394 exceeding H3966 ADV much H7235 VHFA , and largeness H7341 W-CMS of heart H3820 , even as the sand H2344 that H834 RPRO is on H5921 PREP the sea H3220 D-NMS shore H8193 CFS .
30 And Solomon H8010 MMS \'s wisdom H2451 excelled the wisdom H7235 of all H3605 NMS the children H1121 of the east country H6924 NMS , and all H3605 NMS the wisdom H2451 of Egypt H4714 .
31 For he was wiser H2449 than all H3605 M-CMS men H120 D-NMS ; than Ethan H387 the Ezrahite H250 , and Heman H1968 , and Chalcol H3633 , and Darda H1862 , the sons H1121 of Mahol H4235 : and his fame H8034 CMS-3MS was H1961 in all H3605 nations H1471 D-NMP round about H5439 .
32 And he spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS three H7969 BMS thousand H505 MMP proverbs H4912 NMS : and his songs H7892 were H1961 W-VQY3MS a thousand H505 and five H2568 .
33 And he spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS of H5921 PREP trees H6086 , from H4480 the cedar tree H730 that H834 is in Lebanon H3844 even unto H5704 W-PREP the hyssop H231 that H834 springeth out H3318 VQPMS of the wall H7023 : he spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS also of H5921 PREP beasts H929 D-NFS , and of H5921 PREP fowl H5775 D-NMS , and of H5921 PREP creeping things H7431 D-NMS , and of H5921 PREP fishes H1709 .
34 And there came H935 W-VQY3MP of all H3605 M-CMS people H5971 to hear H8085 VQQ3MP the wisdom H2451 of Solomon H8010 MMS , from all H3605 kings H4428 CMP of the earth H776 D-GFS , which H834 had heard of VQQ3MP his wisdom H2451 .
