1 (باب نمبر 17)جب ابرؔام نِنانوے برس کا ہُوا تب خُداوند ابراؔم کو نظر آیا اور اُس سے کہا کہ مَیں خُدایِ قادِر ہُوں ۔ تو میرے حضور میں چل اور کامِل ہو۔
2 اور میں اپنے اور تیرے درمیان عہد باندھونگا اور تجھے بہت زیادہ بڑھاؤنگا۔
3 تب ابراؔم سرنگو ہوگیا اور خُدا نے اُس سے ہمکلام ہو کر فرمایا۔
4 کہ دیکھ میرا عہد تیرے ساتھ ہے اور تو سب قوموں کا باپ ہوگا۔
5 اور تیرا نام پِھر ابراؔم نہیں کہلائیگا بلکہ تیرا نام ابرؔہام ہوگا کیونکہ مَیں تجھے بہت قوموں کا باپ ٹھہرا دیا ہے۔
6 اور مَیں تجھے بہت برومند کرونگا اور قومیں تیری نسال سے ہونگی اور بادشاہ تیری اَولاد میں سے برپا ہونگے۔
7 اورمَیں اپنے اور تیرے درمیان اور تیرے بعد تیری نسال کے درمیان اُنکی سب پُشتوں کے لئے اپنا عہد جو ابدی عہد ہوگا باندھُونگا تاکہ مَیں تریا اور تیرے بعد تیری نسال کا خُدا رہُوں۔
8 اور مَیں تجھ کو اور تیرے بعد تیری نسل کو کنؔعان کا تمام مُلک جِس میں تُو پردیسی ہے اَیسا دُونگا کہ وہ دائمی مِلکیت ہو جائے اور مَیں اُنکا خُدا ہُونگا۔
9 پِھر خُدانے ابرؔہام سے کہا کہ تُو میرے عہد کو ماننا اور تیرے بعد تیری نسل پُشت در پُشت اُسے مانے ۔
10 اور میرا عہد جو میرے اور تیرے درمیان اور تیرے بعد تیری نسل کے دریمان ہے اور جِسے تم مانو گے سو یہ ہے کہ تُم میں سے ہر ایک فرزند ِ نرینہ کا ختنہ کِیا جائے۔
11 اور تُم اپنے بدن کی کھلڑی کا ختنہ کِیا کرنا۔ اور یہ اُس عہد کا نِشان ہوگا جو میرے اور تمہارے درمیان ہے۔
12 پُشت در پُشت ہر لڑکے کا ختنہ جب وہ آٹھ روز کا ہو کِیا جائےخواہ وہ گھر میں پیدا ہو خواہ اُسے کِسی پردیسی سے خریدا ہو جو تیری نسل سے نہیں۔
13 لازم ہے کہ تیرے خانہ زاد اور تیرے زر خرید کا ختنہ کِیا جائے اور میرا عہد تمہارے جِسم میں ابدی عہد ہوگا۔
14 اور وہ فرزندِ نرینہ جِسکا ختنہ نہ ہُوا جِسکا ختنہ نہ ہُوا ہو اپنے لوگوں میں سے کاٹ ڈالا جائے کیونکہ اُس نے میرا عہد توڑا۔
15 اور خُدا نے ابرؔام سے کہا کہ ساؔرَی جو تیری بیوی ہے سو اُسکو ساؔرَی نہ پُکارنا۔ اُسکا نام ساؔرہ ہوگا۔
16 اورمَیں اُسے برکت دُونگا اور اُس سے بھھی تجھے ایک بیٹا بخشونگا ۔ یقیناً مَیں اُسے برکت دونگا کہ قَومیں اُسکی نسل سے ہونگی اور عالم کے بادشاہ اُس سے پَیدا ہونگے۔
17 تب ابرہؔام سرنگو ہُوا اور ہنس کر چِل میں کنہے لگا کہ کیا سَو برس کے بُڈّھے سے کوئی بچہّ ہوگا اور کیا ساؔرہ کے جو نوّے برس کی ہے اولاد ہوگی؟۔
18 اور ابرؔہام نے خُدا سے کہا کہ کاش اِسمٰعیل ہی تیرے حضور جیتا رہے۔
19 تب خُدا نے فرمایا کہ بیشک تیری بیوی ساؔرہ کے تجھ سے بیٹا ہوگا تُو اُسکا نام اِضؔحاق رکھنا اور مَیں اُس سے اور پھر اُسکی اولاد سے اپنا عہد جو ابدی عہد ہے باندھُونگا۔
20 اور اِسؔمعیل کے حق میں بھی میں نے تیری دُعا سُنی ۔ دیکھ مَیں اُسے برکت دُونگا اور اُسے برومند کرونگا اور اُسے بڑھاؤنگا اور اُس سے بارہ سردار پیَدا ہونگے اورمَیں اُسے بڑی قوم بناؤنگا۔
21 لیکن مَیں اپنا عہد اِضؔحاق سے باندھُونگا جو اگلے سال اِسی وقت مُعیّن پر ساؔرہ سے پَیدا ہوگا۔
22 اور جب خُدا ابرؔہام سے باتیں کر چُکا تو اُسکے پاس سے اُوپر چلا گیا ۔
23 تب ابرؔہام نے اپنے بیٹے اِسؔمٰعیل کو اور سب خانہ زادوں اور اپنے سب زرخریدوں کو عینی اپنے گھر کے سب مردوں کو لِیا اور اُسی روز خُدا کے حُکم کے مُطابق اُنکا ختنہ کیا۔
24 ابرؔہام نِناّنوے برس کا تھا جب اُسکا ختنہ ہُوا۔
25 اور جب اُسکے بیٹے اِسؔمٰعیل کا ختنہ ہُوا تو وہ تیرہ برس کا تھا۔
26 ابرؔہام اور اُسکے بیٹے اِسؔمٰعیل کا ختنہ ایک ہی دِن ہُوا۔
27 اور اُسکے گھر کے سب مردوں کا ختنہ خانہ زادوں اور اُنکا بھی جو پردیسیوں سے خریدے گئے تھے اُسکے ساتھ ہُوا۔
1 And when Abram H87 EMS was H1961 W-VQY3MS ninety H8673 MMP years H8141 NFS old H1121 and nine H8672 , the LORD H3068 EDS appeared H7200 W-VNY3MS to H413 PREP Abram H87 EMS , and said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS him , I H589 PPRO-1MS am the Almighty H7706 EDS God H410 EDS ; walk H1980 VTI2MS before H6440 L-CMP me , and be H1961 W-VQI2MS thou perfect H8549 .
2 And I will make H5414 my covenant H1285 between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and thee , and will multiply H7235 thee exceedingly H3966 .
3 And Abram H87 EMS fell H5307 W-VQY3MS on H5921 PREP his face H6440 CMP-3MS : and God H430 EDP talked H1696 W-VPY3MS with H854 PREP-3MS him , saying H559 L-VQFC ,
4 As for me H589 PPRO-1MS , behold H2009 IJEC , my covenant H1285 is with H854 PART-2MS thee , and thou shalt be H1961 W-VQQ2MS a father H1 of many H1995 nations H1471 NMP .
5 Neither H3808 W-NPAR shall thy name H8034 any more H5750 ADV be called H7121 VNY3MS Abram H87 EMS , but thy name H8034 shall be H1961 W-VQQ3MS Abraham H85 ; for H3588 CONJ a father H1 of many H1995 nations H1471 NMP have I made H5414 thee .
6 And I will make thee exceeding H3966 fruitful H6509 , and I will make H5414 nations H1471 of thee , and kings H4428 shall come out H3318 of H4480 PREP-2MS thee .
7 And I will establish H6965 W-VHQ1MS my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and thee and thy seed H2233 CMS-2MS after H310 thee in their generations H1755 for an everlasting H5769 NMS covenant H1285 , to be H1961 a God H430 L-NMP unto thee , and to thy seed H2233 WL-CMS-2MS after H310 PREP-2MS thee .
8 And I will give H5414 unto thee , and to thy seed H2233 after H310 thee , the land H776 GFS wherein thou art a stranger H4033 , all H3605 NMS the land H776 GFS of Canaan H3667 LMS , for an everlasting H5769 NMS possession H272 ; and I will be H1961 their God H430 L-NMP .
9 And God H430 EDP said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Abraham H85 , Thou H859 PPRO-2FS shalt keep H8104 my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS therefore , thou H859 PPRO-2MS , and thy seed H2233 after H310 thee in their generations H1755 .
10 This H2063 DPRO is my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS , which H834 RPRO ye shall keep H8104 , between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and you and thy seed H2233 CMS-2MS after H310 thee ; Every H3605 NMS man child H2145 among you shall be circumcised H4135 .
11 And ye shall circumcise H4135 the flesh H1320 CMS of your foreskin H6190 ; and it shall be H1961 W-VQQ3MS a token H226 L-CMS of the covenant H1285 NFS between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and you .
12 And he that is eight H8083 days H3117 NMP old H1121 W-CMS shall be circumcised H4135 among you , every H3605 NMS man child H2145 NMS in your generations H1755 , he that is born H3211 in the house H1004 , or bought H4736 with money H3701 NMS of any H3605 NMS stranger H1121 W-CMS , which H834 RPRO is not H3808 NADV of thy seed H2233 .
13 He that is born H3211 in thy house H1004 , and he that is bought H4736 with thy money H3701 , must needs be circumcised H4135 : and my covenant H1285 shall be H1961 W-VQQ3FS in your flesh H1320 for an everlasting H5769 NMS covenant H1285 .
14 And the uncircumcised H6189 man child H2145 NMS whose H834 RPRO flesh H1320 CMS of his foreskin H6190 is not H3808 ADV circumcised H4135 , that H1931 D-PPRO-3FS soul H5315 D-NFS shall be cut off H3772 from his people H5971 ; he hath broken H6565 my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS .
15 And God H430 EDP said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Abraham H85 , As for Sarai H8297 EFS thy wife H802 CFS-2MS , thou shalt not H3808 NADV call H7121 VQY3FS her name H8034 CMS-3FS Sarai H8297 EFS , but H3588 CONJ Sarah H8283 shall her name H8034 be .
16 And I will bless H1288 her , and give H5414 VQQ1MS thee a son H1121 NMS also H1571 W-CONJ of H4480 M-PREP-3FS her : yea , I will bless H1288 her , and she shall be H1961 W-VQQ3FS a mother of nations H1471 ; kings H4428 CMP of people H5971 NMP shall be H1961 of H4480 M-PREP-3FS her .
17 Then Abraham H85 fell H5307 W-VQY3MS upon H5921 PREP his face H6440 CMP-3MS , and laughed H6711 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS in his heart H3820 , Shall a child be born H3205 unto him that is a hundred H3967 years H8141 NFS old H1121 ? and shall Sarah H8283 , that is ninety H8673 MMP years H8141 NFS old H1323 , bear H3205 ?
18 And Abraham H85 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP God H430 D-NAME-4MS , O that H3863 CONJ Ishmael H3458 might live H2421 before H6440 thee !
19 And God H430 EDP said H559 W-VQY3MS , Sarah H8283 thy wife H802 CFS-2MS shall bear H3205 thee a son H1121 NMS indeed H61 ; and thou shalt call H7121 his name H8034 CMS-3MS Isaac H3327 : and I will establish H6965 W-VHQ1MS my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS with H854 PREP-3MS him for an everlasting H5769 NMS covenant H1285 , and with his seed H2233 after H310 him .
20 And as for Ishmael H3458 , I have heard H8085 thee : Behold H2009 IJEC , I have blessed H1288 him , and will make him fruitful H6509 , and will multiply H7235 him exceedingly H3966 ; twelve H8147 princes H5387 shall he beget H3205 , and I will make H5414 him a great H1419 nation H1471 L-NMS .
21 But my covenant H1285 B-CFS-1MS will I establish H6965 with H854 PREP Isaac H3327 , which H834 RPRO Sarah H8283 shall bear H3205 unto thee at this H2088 D-PMS set time H4150 in the next H312 year H8141 .
22 And he left off H3615 W-VPY3MS talking H1696 with H854 PREP-3MS him , and God H430 EDP went up H5927 W-VHY3MS from M-PREP Abraham H85 .
23 And Abraham H85 took H3947 W-VQY3MS Ishmael H3458 his son H1121 CMS-3MS , and all H3605 NMS that were born H3211 CMP in his house H1004 CMS-3MS , and all H3605 NMS that were bought H4736 with his money H3701 , every H3605 NMS male H2145 NMS among the men H376 B-CMP of Abraham H85 \'s house H1004 CMS ; and circumcised H4135 the flesh H1320 CMS of their foreskin H6190 in the selfsame H6106 B-CFS day H3117 D-AMS , as H834 K-RPRO God H430 NAME-4MP had said H1696 VPQ3MS unto H854 PREP-3MS him .
24 And Abraham H85 was ninety H8673 MMP years H8141 NFS old H1121 and nine H8672 , when he was circumcised H4135 in the flesh H1320 CMS of his foreskin H6190 .
25 And Ishmael H3458 his son H1121 CMS-3MS was thirteen H7969 BFS years H8141 NFS old H1121 CMS-3MS , when he was circumcised H4135 in the flesh H1320 CMS of his foreskin H6190 .
26 In the selfsame H6106 B-CFS day H3117 D-AMS was Abraham H85 circumcised H4135 , and Ishmael H3458 his son H1121 .
27 And all H3605 W-CMS the men H376 CMP of his house H1004 CMS-3MS , born H3211 in the house H1004 , and bought H4736 with money H3701 NMS of PREP-3MS the stranger H1121 , were circumcised H4135 with H854 PREP-3MS him .
