Exodus 16:29
29
See,
for
that
the
LORD
hath
given
you
the
sabbath,
therefore
he
giveth
you
on
the
sixth
day
the
bread
of
two
days;
abide
ye
every
man
in
his
place,
let
no
man
go
out
of
his
place
on
the
seventh
day.

1
When
Jethro,
the
priest
of
Midian,
Moses’
father
in
law,
heard
of
all
that
God
had
done
for
Moses,
and
for
Israel
his
people,
and
that
the
LORD
had
brought
Israel
out
of
Egypt;
2
Then
Jethro,
Moses’
father
in
law,
took
Zipporah,
Moses’
wife,
after
he
had
sent
her
back,
3
And
her
two
sons;
of
which
the
name
of
the
one
was
Gershom;
for
he
said,
I
have
been
an
alien
in
a
strange
land:
4
And
the
name
of
the
other
was
Eliezer;
for
the
God
of
my
father,
said
he,
was
mine
help,
and
delivered
me
from
the
sword
of
Pharaoh:
5
And
Jethro,
Moses’
father
in
law,
came
with
his
sons
and
his
wife
unto
Moses
into
the
wilderness,
where
he
encamped
at
the
mount
of
God:
6
And
he
said
unto
Moses,
I
thy
father
in
law
Jethro
am
come
unto
thee,
and
thy
wife,
and
her
two
sons
with
her.
7
And
Moses
went
out
to
meet
his
father
in
law,
and
did
obeisance,
and
kissed
him;
and
they
asked
each
other
of
their
welfare;
and
they
came
into
the
tent.
8
And
Moses
told
his
father
in
law
all
that
the
LORD
had
done
unto
Pharaoh
and
to
the
Egyptians
for
Israel’s
sake,
and
all
the
travail
that
had
come
upon
them
by
the
way,
and
how
the
LORD
delivered
them.
9
And
Jethro
rejoiced
for
all
the
goodness
which
the
LORD
had
done
to
Israel,
whom
he
had
delivered
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians.
10
And
Jethro
said,
Blessed
be
the
LORD,
who
hath
delivered
you
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians,
and
out
of
the
hand
of
Pharaoh,
who
hath
delivered
the
people
from
under
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians.
11
Now
I
know
that
the
LORD
is
greater
than
all
gods:
for
in
the
thing
wherein
they
dealt
proudly
he
was
above
them.
12
And
Jethro,
Moses’
father
in
law,
took
a
burnt
offering
and
sacrifices
for
God:
and
Aaron
came,
and
all
the
elders
of
Israel,
to
eat
bread
with
Moses’
father
in
law
before
God.
13
And
it
came
to
pass
on
the
morrow,
that
Moses
sat
to
judge
the
people:
and
the
people
stood
by
Moses
from
the
morning
unto
the
evening.
14
And
when
Moses’
father
in
law
saw
all
that
he
did
to
the
people,
he
said,
What
is
this
thing
that
thou
doest
to
the
people?
why
sittest
thou
thyself
alone,
and
all
the
people
stand
by
thee
from
morning
unto
even?
15
And
Moses
said
unto
his
father
in
law,
Because
the
people
come
unto
me
to
enquire
of
God:
16
When
they
have
a
matter,
they
come
unto
me;
and
I
judge
between
one
and
another,
and
I
do
make
them
know
the
statutes
of
God,
and
his
laws.
17
And
Moses’
father
in
law
said
unto
him,
The
thing
that
thou
doest
is
not
good.
18
Thou
wilt
surely
wear
away,
both
thou,
and
this
people
that
is
with
thee:
for
this
thing
is
too
heavy
for
thee;
thou
art
not
able
to
perform
it
thyself
alone.
19
Hearken
now
unto
my
voice,
I
will
give
thee
counsel,
and
God
shall
be
with
thee:
Be
thou
for
the
people
to
God-ward,
that
thou
mayest
bring
the
causes
unto
God:
20
And
thou
shalt
teach
them
ordinances
and
laws,
and
shalt
shew
them
the
way
wherein
they
must
walk,
and
the
work
that
they
must
do.
21
Moreover
thou
shalt
provide
out
of
all
the
people
able
men,
such
as
fear
God,
men
of
truth,
hating
covetousness;
and
place
such
over
them,
to
be
rulers
of
thousands,
and
rulers
of
hundreds,
rulers
of
fifties,
and
rulers
of
tens:
22
And
let
them
judge
the
people
at
all
seasons:
and
it
shall
be,
that
every
great
matter
they
shall
bring
unto
thee,
but
every
small
matter
they
shall
judge:
so
shall
it
be
easier
for
thyself,
and
they
shall
bear
the
burden
with
thee.
23
If
thou
shalt
do
this
thing,
and
God
command
thee
so,
then
thou
shalt
be
able
to
endure,
and
all
this
people
shall
also
go
to
their
place
in
peace.
24
So
Moses
hearkened
to
the
voice
of
his
father
in
law,
and
did
all
that
he
had
said.
25
And
Moses
chose
able
men
out
of
all
Israel,
and
made
them
heads
over
the
people,
rulers
of
thousands,
rulers
of
hundreds,
rulers
of
fifties,
and
rulers
of
tens.
26
And
they
judged
the
people
at
all
seasons:
the
hard
causes
they
brought
unto
Moses,
but
every
small
matter
they
judged
themselves.
27
And
Moses
let
his
father
in
law
depart;
and
he
went
his
way
into
his
own
land.
2 Samuel 19:39
39
And
all
the
people
went
over
Jordan.
And
when
the
king
was
come
over,
the
king
kissed
Barzillai,
and
blessed
him;
and
he
returned
unto
his
own
place.

wife,
after
he
had
sent
her
away,
3
and
her
two
sons;
of
whom
the
name
of
the
one
was
Gershom;
for
he
said,
I
have
been
a
sojourner
in
a
foreign
land:
4
and
the
name
of
the
other
was
Eliezer;
for
he
said,
The
God
of
my
father
was
my
help,
and
delivered
me
from
the
sword
of
Pharaoh.
5
And
Jethro,
Moses
father-in-law,
came
with
his
sons
and
his
wife
unto
Moses
into
the
wilderness
where
he
was
encamped,
at
the
mount
of
God:
6
and
he
said
unto
Moses,
I,
thy
father-in-law
Jethro,
am
come
unto
thee,
and
thy
wife,
and
her
two
sons
with
her.
7
And
Moses
went
out
to
meet
his
father-in-law,
and
did
obeisance,
and
kissed
him:
and
they
asked
each
other
of
their
welfare;
and
they
came
into
the
tent.
8
And
Moses
told
his
father-in-law
all
that
Jehovah
had
done
unto
Pharaoh
and
to
the
Egyptians
for
Israels
sake,
all
the
travail
that
had
come
upon
them
by
the
way,
and
how
Jehovah
delivered
them.
9
And
Jethro
rejoiced
for
all
the
goodness
which
Jehovah
had
done
to
Israel,
in
that
he
had
delivered
them
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians.
10
And
Jethro
said,
Blessed
be
Jehovah,
who
hath
delivered
you
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians,
and
out
of
the
hand
of
Pharaoh;
who
hath
delivered
the
people
from
under
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians.
11
Now
I
know
that
Jehovah
is
greater
than
all
gods;
yea,
in
the
thing
wherein
they
dealt
proudly
against
them.
12
And
Jethro,
Moses
father-in-law,
took
a
burnt-offering
and
sacrifices
for
God:
and
Aaron
came,
and
all
the
elders
of
Israel,
to
eat
bread
with
Moses
father-in-law
before
God.
13
And
it
came
to
pass
on
the
morrow,
that
Moses
sat
to
judge
the
people:
and
the
people
stood
about
Moses
from
the
morning
unto
the
evening.
14
And
when
Moses
father-in-law
saw
all
that
he
did
to
the
people,
he
said,
What
is
this
thing
that
thou
doest

the

why
sittest

thyself
alone,
and
all
the
people

from

15
And
Moses
said
unto
his
father-in-law,
Because
the
people
come
unto
me
to
inquire
of
God:
16
when
they
have
a
matter,
they
come
unto
me;
and
I
judge
between
a
man
and
his
neighbor,
and
I
make
them
know
the
statutes
of
God,
and
his
laws.
17
And
Moses
father-in-law
said
unto
him,
The

that
thou
doest
is
not
good.
18
Thou
wilt
surely

both

and
this

for
the
thing

thou
art
not
able
to
perform
it
thyself
alone.
19
Hearken
now
unto
my
voice,
I
will
give
thee
counsel,
and
God
be
with
thee:
be
thou
for
the
people
to
God-ward,
and
bring
thou
the
causes
unto
God:
20
and
thou
shalt
teach
them
the
statutes
and
the
laws,
and
shalt
show
them
the
way
wherein
they
must
walk,
and
the
work
that
they
must
do.
21
Moreover
thou
shalt
provide
out
of
all
the
people
able
men,
such
as
fear
God,
men
of
truth,
hating
unjust
gain;
and
place
such
over
them,
to
be
rulers
of
thousands,
rulers
of
hundreds,
rulers
of
fifties,
and
rulers
of
tens:
22
and
let
them
judge
the
people
at
all
seasons:
and
it
shall
be,
that
every
great
matter
they
shall
bring

thee,
but
every
small
matter
they
shall
judge
themselves:
so
shall
it
be

and
they
shall

See,
for
that
the
LORD
has
given
you
the
sabbath,
therefore
he
gives
you
on
the
sixth
day
the
bread
of
two
days;
abide
you
every
man
in
his
place,
let
no
man
go
out
of
his
place
on
the
seventh
day.

1
When
Jethro,
the
priest
of
Midian,
Moses'
father
in
law,
heard
of
all
that
God
had
done
for
Moses,
and
for
Israel
his
people,
and
that
the
LORD
had
brought
Israel
out
of
Egypt;
2
Then
Jethro,
Moses'
father
in
law,
took
Zipporah,
Moses'
wife,
after
he
had
sent
her
back,
3
And
her
two
sons;
of
which
the
name
of
the
one
was
Gershom;
for
he
said,
I
have
been
an
alien
in
a
strange
land:
4
And
the
name
of
the
other
was
Eliezer;
for
the
God
of
my
father,
said
he,
was
my
help,
and
delivered
me
from
the
sword
of
Pharaoh:
5
And
Jethro,
Moses'
father
in
law,
came
with
his
sons
and
his
wife
to
Moses
into
the
wilderness,
where
he
encamped
at
the
mount
of
God:
6
And
he
said
to
Moses,
I
your
father
in
law
Jethro
am
come
to
you,
and
your
wife,
and
her
two
sons
with
her.
7
And
Moses
went
out
to
meet
his
father
in
law,
and
did
obeisance,
and
kissed
him;
and
they
asked
each
other
of
their
welfare;
and
they
came
into
the
tent.
8
And
Moses
told
his
father
in
law
all
that
the
LORD
had
done
to
Pharaoh
and
to
the
Egyptians
for
Israel's
sake,
and
all
the
travail
that
had
come
on
them
by
the
way,
and
how
the
LORD
delivered
them.
9
And
Jethro
rejoiced
for
all
the
goodness
which
the
LORD
had
done
to
Israel,
whom
he
had
delivered
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians.
10
And
Jethro
said,
Blessed
be
the
LORD,
who
has
delivered
you
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians,
and
out
of
the
hand
of
Pharaoh,
who
has
delivered
the
people
from
under
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians.
11
Now
I
know
that
the
LORD
is
greater
than
all
gods:
for
in
the
thing
wherein
they
dealt
proudly
he
was
above
them.
12
And
Jethro,
Moses'
father
in
law,
took
a
burnt
offering
and
sacrifices
for
God:
and
Aaron
came,
and
all
the
elders
of
Israel,
to
eat
bread
with
Moses'
father
in
law
before
God.
13
And
it
came
to
pass
on
the
morrow,
that
Moses
sat
to
judge
the
people:
and
the
people
stood
by
Moses
from
the
morning
to
the
evening.
14
And
when
Moses'
father
in
law
saw
all
that
he
did
to
the
people,
he
said,
What
is
this
thing
that
you
do
to
the
people?
why
sit
you
yourself
alone,
and
all
the
people
stand
by
you
from
morning
to
even?
15
And
Moses
said
to
his
father
in
law,
Because
the
people
come
to
me
to
inquire
of
God:
16
When
they
have
a
matter,
they
come
to
me;
and
I
judge
between
one
and
another,
and
I
do
make
them
know
the
statutes
of
God,
and
his
laws.
17
And
Moses'
father
in
law
said
to
him,
The
thing
that
you
do
is
not
good.
18
You
will
surely
wear
away,
both
you,
and
this
people
that
is
with
you:
for
this
thing
is
too
heavy
for
you;
you
are
not
able
to
perform
it
yourself
alone.
19
Listen
now
to
my
voice,
I
will
give
you
counsel,
and
God
shall
be
with
you:
Be
you
for
the
people
to
God-ward,
that
you
may
bring
the
causes
to
God:
20
And
you
shall
teach
them
ordinances
and
laws,
and
shall
show
them
the
way
wherein
they
must
walk,
and
the
work
that
they
must
do.
21
Moreover
you
shall
provide
out
of
all
the
people
able
men,
such
as
fear
God,
men
of
truth,
hating
covetousness;
and
place
such
over
them,
to
be
rulers
of
thousands,
and
rulers
of
hundreds,
rulers
of
fifties,
and
rulers
of
tens:
22
And
let
them
judge
the
people
at
all
seasons:
and
it
shall
be,
that
every
great
matter
they
shall
bring
to
you,
but
every
small
matter
they
shall
judge:
so
shall
it
be
easier
for
yourself,
and
they
shall
bear
the
burden
with
you.
23
If
you
shall
do
this
thing,
and
God
command
you
so,
then
you
shall
be
able
to
endure,
and
all
this
people
shall
also
go
to
their
place
in
peace.
24
So
Moses
listened
to
the
voice
of
his
father
in
law,
and
did
all
that
he
had
said.
25
And
Moses
chose
able
men
out
of
all
Israel,
and
made
them
heads
over
the
people,
rulers
of
thousands,
rulers
of
hundreds,
rulers
of
fifties,
and
rulers
of
tens.
26
And
they
judged
the
people
at
all
seasons:
the
hard
causes
they
brought
to
Moses,
but
every
small
matter
they
judged
themselves.
27
And
Moses
let
his
father
in
law
depart;
and
he
went
his
way
into
his
own
land.
2 Samuel 19:39

And
all
the
people
went
over
Jordan.
And
when
the
king
was
come
over,
the
king
kissed
Barzillai,
and
blessed
him;
and
he
returned
to
his
own
place.

He

He
heard
about
the

So
Jethro

Moses
while
Moses

Jethro

Zipporah,
with

(Zipporah
was
not
with
Moses,
because
Moses
had
sent
her
home.)
3
Jethro
also
brought
Moses'
two
sons
with
him.
The
first
son
was
named
Gershom,
because
when
he
was
born,
Moses
said,
"I
am
a
stranger
in
a
foreign
country."
4
The
other
son
was
named
Eliezer,
because
when
he
was
born,
Moses
said,
"The
God
of
my
father
helped
me
and
saved
me
from
the
king
of
Egypt."
5
So
Jethro
went
to
Moses
while
Moses
was
camped
in
the
desert
near
the
mountain
of
God.
Moses'
wife
and
his
two
sons
were
with
Jethro.
6
Jethro
sent
a
message
to
Moses
that
said,
"This
is
your
father-in-law
Jethro.
I
am
bringing
your
wife
and
her
two
sons
to
you."
7
So
Moses
went
out
to
meet
his
father-inlaw.
Moses
bowed
down
before
him
and
kissed
him.
The
two
men
asked
about
each
other's
health.
Then
they
went
into
Moses'
tent
to
talk
more.
8
Moses
told
Jethro
everything
the
Lord
had
done
for
the
Israelites.
He
told
what
the
Lord
did
to
Pharaoh
and
the
people
of
Egypt.
He
told
about
all
the
problems
they
had
along
the
way.
And
he
told
his
father-in-law
how
the
Lord
saved
the
Israelites
every
time
there
was
trouble.
9
Jethro
was
happy
when
he
heard
all
the
good
things
the
Lord
had
done
for
Israel.
He
was
glad
that
the
Lord
had
freed
the
Israelites
from
the
Egyptians.
10
He
said,
"Praise
the
Lord!
He
freed
you
from
the
power
of
Egypt.
He
saved
you
from
Pharaoh.
11
Now
I
know
the
Lord
is
greater
than
all
the
gods.
They
thought
they
were
in
control,
but
look
what
God
did!"
12
Jethro
got
some
sacrifices
and
offerings
to
honor
God.
Then
Aaron
and
all
the
elders
of
Israel
came
to
eat
with
Moses'
father-in-law
Jethro.
They
all
ate
together
there
with
God.
13
The
next
day,
Moses
had
the
special
job
of
judging
the
people.
There
were
so
many
people
that
they
had
to
stand
before
him
all
day.
14
Jethro
saw
Moses
judging
the
people.
He
asked,
"Why
are
you
doing
this?
Why
are
you
the
only
judge?
And
why
do
people
come
to
you
all
day?"
15
Then
Moses
said
to
his
father-in-law,
"The
people
come
to
me
and
ask
me
to
ask
for
God's
decision
for
their
problem.
16
If
people
have
an
argument,
they
come
to
me,
and
I
decide
which
person
is
right.
In
this
way
I
teach
the
people
God's
laws
and
teachings."
17
But
Moses'
father-in-law
said
to
him,
"This
isn't
the
right
way
to
do
this.
18
It
is
too
much
work
for
you
to
do
alone.
You
cannot
do
this
job
by
yourself.
It
wears
you
out.
And
it
makes
the
people
tired
too.
19
Now,
listen
to
me.
Let
me
give
you
some
advice.
And
I
pray
God
will
be
with
you.
You
should
continue
listening
to
the
problems
of
the
people.
And
you
should
continue
to
speak
to
God
about
these
things.
20
You
should
explain
God's
laws
and
teachings
to
the
people.
Warn
them
not
to
break
the
laws.
Tell
them
the
right
way
to
live
and
what
they
should
do.
21
But
you
should
also
choose
some
of
the
people
to
be
judges
and
leaders.
"Choose
good
men
you
can
trust—men
who
respect
God.
Choose
men
who
will
not
change
their
decisions
for
money.
Make
these
men
rulers
over
the
people.
There
should
be
rulers
over
1000
people,
100
people,
50
people,
and
even
over
ten
people.
22
Let
these
rulers
judge
the
people.
If
there
is
a
very
important
case,
then
they
can
come
to
you
and
let
you
decide
what
to
do.
But
they
can
decide
the
other
cases
themselves.
In
this
way
these
men
will
share
your
work
with
you,
and
it
will
be
easier
for
you
to
lead
the
people.
23
If
you
do
this
as
God
directs
you,
then
you
will
be
able
to
do
your
job
without
tiring
yourself
out.
And
the
people
can
still
have
all
their
problems
solved
before
they
return
home."
24
So
Moses
did
what
Jethro
told
him.
25
Moses
chose
good
men
from
among
the
Israelites.
He
made
them
leaders
over
the
people.
There
were
rulers
over
1000
people,
100
people,
50
people,
and
ten
people.
26
These
rulers
were
judges
for
the
people.
The
people
could
always
bring
their
arguments
to
these
rulers,
and
Moses
had
to
decide
only
the
most
important
cases.
27
After
a
short
time,
Moses
said
goodbye
to
his
father-in-law
Jethro,
and
Jethro
went
back
to
his
own
home.
2 Samuel 19:39
39
The
king
kissed
Barzillai
and
blessed
him.
Barzillai
went
back
home,
and
the
king
and
all
the
people
went
across
the
river.

See,
for
the
Lord
has

you
this
day
as
the
sabbath,
therefore
he

of
two

ye

each
of
you
in
your
houses;
let
no
one
go
forth
from
his
place
on
the
seventh
day.

1
And
Jothor
the
priest
of
Madiam,
the
father-in-law
of
Moses,
heard
of
all
that
the
Lord
did
to
his
people
Israel;
for
the
Lord
brought
Israel
out
of
Egypt.
2
And
Jothor
the
father-in-law
of
Moses,
took
Sepphora
the
wife
of
Moses
after
she
had
been
sent
away,
3
and
her
two
sons:
the
name
of
the
one
was
Gersam,
his
father
saying,
I
was
a
sojourner
in
a
strange
land;
—
4
and
the
name
of
the
second
Eliezer,
saying,
For
the
God
of
my
father
is
my
helper,
and
he
has
rescued
me
out
of
the
hand
of
Pharao.
5
And
Jothor
the
father-in-law
of
Moses,
and
his
sons
and
his
wife,
went
forth
to
Moses
into
the
wilderness,
where
he
encamped
on
the
mount
of
God.
6
And
it
was
told
Moses,
saying,
Behold,
thy
father-in-law
Jothor
is
coming
to
thee,
and
thy
wife
and
two
sons
with
him.
7
And
Moses
went
forth
to
meet
his
father-in-law,
and
did
him
reverence,
and
kissed
him,
and
they
embraced
each
other,
and
he
brought
them
into
the
tent.
8
And
Moses
related
to
his
father-in-law
all
things
that
the
Lord
did
to
Pharao
and
all
the
Egyptians
for
Israel’s
sake,
and
all
the
labour
that
had
befallen
them
in
the
way,
and
that
the
Lord
had
rescued
them
out
of
the
hand
of
Pharao,
and
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians.
9
And
Jothor
was
amazed
at
all
the
good
things
which
the
Lord
did
to
them,
forasmuch
as
he
rescued
them
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians
and
out
of
the
hand
of
Pharao.
10
And
Jothor
said,
Blessed
be
the
Lord,
because
he
has
rescued
them
out
of
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians
and
out
of
the
hand
of
Pharao.
11
Now
know
I
that
the
Lord
is
great
above
all
gods,
because
of
this,
The
meaning
appears
to
be,
The
Lord
shewed
his
superiority
on
this
occasion,
when
the
enemy
attacked
the
Israelites
wherein
they
attacked
them.
12
And
Jothor
the
father-in-law
of
Moses
took
whole
burnt-offerings
and
sacrifices
for
God,
for
Aaron
and
all
the
elders
of
Israel
came
to
eat
bread
with
the
father-in-law
of
Moses
before
God.
13
And
it
came
to
pass
after
the
morrow
that
Moses
sat
to
judge
the
people,
and
all
the
people
stood
by
Moses
from
morning
till
evening.
14
And
Jothor
having
seen
all
that
Moses
Gr.
does
did
to
the
people,
says,
What
is
this
that
thou
doest
to
the
people?
wherefore
sittest
thou
alone,
and
all
the
people
stand
by
thee
from
morning
till
evening?
15
And
Moses
says
to
his
father-in-law,
Because
the
people
come
to
me
to
seek
judgement
from
God.
16
For
whenever
there
is
a
dispute
among
them,
and
they
come
to
me,
I
give
judgement
upon
each,
and
I
teach
them
the
ordinances
of
God
and
his
law.
17
And
the
father-in-law
of
Moses
said
to
him,
Thou
dost
not
this
thing
rightly,
18
thou
wilt
wear
away
with
intolerable
weariness,
both
those
and
all
this
people
which
is
with
thee:
this
thing
is
hard,
thou
wilt
not
be
able
to
endure
it
thyself
alone.
19
Now
then
hearken
to
me,
and
I
will
advise
thee,
and
God
shall
be
with
thee:
be
thou
to
the
people
in
the
things
pertaining
to
God,
and
thou
shalt
bring
their
Gr.
words
matters
to
God.
20
And
thou
shalt
testify
to
them
the
ordinances
of
God
and
his
law,
and
thou
shalt
shew
to
them
the
ways
in
which
they
shall
walk,
and
the
works
which
they
shall
do.
21
And
do
thou
look
out
for
thyself
out
of
all
the
people
able
men,
fearing
God,
righteous
men,
hating
pride,
and
thou
shalt
set
over
Gr.
them
the
people
captains
of
thousands
and
captains
of
hundreds,
and
captains
of
fifties,
and
captains
of
tens.
22
And
they
shall
judge
the
people
at
all
times,
and
the
too
burdensome
matter
they
shall
bring
to
thee,
but
they
shall
judge
the
smaller
cases;
so
they
shall
relieve
thee
and
help
thee.
23
If
thou
wilt
do
this
thing,
God
shall
strengthen
thee,
and
thou
shalt
be
able
to
attend,
and
all
this
people
shall
come
with
peace
into
Gr.
his
own
their
own
place.
24
And
Moses
hearkened
to
the
voice
of
his
father-in-law,
and
did
whatsoever
he
said
to
him.
25
And
Moses
chose
out
able
men
out
of
all
Israel,
and
he
made
them
captains
of
thousands
and
captains
of
hundreds,
and
captains
of
fifties
and
captains
of

over
Gr.
them
the

26
And
they
judged
the
people
at
all
times;
and
every
too
burdensome
matter
they
brought
to
Moses,
but
every
light
matter
they
judged
themselves.
27
And
Moses
dismissed
his
father-in-law,
and
he
returned
to
his

land.

Berzelli,

blessed

Moses'

Jethro,
the
religious

Midian,
heard
about
all
that
God
had

for
Mo-

and
for
Israel
His

He
heard
about
how
the

Egypt.
2
Moses'

taken
Mo-

Zipporah,
after
Moses
had
sent
her
away.
3
And
he
had
taken
her
two
sons.
One
was
given
the
name
Gershom,
for
he

"I

The

Eliezer,
for
he
said,
"The
God
of
my
father
was
my
help.
And
He
saved
me
from
the
sword
of
Pharaoh."
5
Then
Moses'
father-in-law,
Jethro,
came
to
Moses
with
his
sons
and
his
wife
to
the
place
where
no
people
live
by
the
mountain
of
God
where
he
was
staying.
6
He
sent
the
news
to
Moses,
"I,
your
father-in-law,
Jethro,
am
coming
to
you
with
your
wife
and
her
two
sons
with
her."
7
Then
Moses
went
to
meet
his
father-in-law.
He
bowed
down
and
kissed
him.
They
asked
each
other
if
all
was
well,
and
went
into
the
tent.
8
Moses
told
his
father-in-law
all
the
Lord
had
done
to
Pharaoh
and
the
Egyptians
because
of
Israel.
He
told
him
about
how
they
had
suffered
on
the
way,
and
how
the
Lord
had
saved
them.
9
Jethro
was
glad
because
of
all
the
good
things
the
Lord
had
done
for
Israel
in
saving
them
from
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians.
10
So
Jethro
said,
"Honor
and
thanks
be
to
the
Lord,
Who
saved
you
from
the
hand
of
the
Egyptians
and
from
the
hand
of
Pharaoh,
and
Who
made
you
free
from
the
power
of
Egypt.
11
Now
I
know
that
the
Lord
is
great-er
than
all
the
gods.
It
was
proven
when
they
acted
in
their
pride
against
the
people."
12
Then
Moses'
father-in-law,
Jethro,
gave
a
burnt
gift
in
wor-ship
to
God.
And
Aaron
came
with
all
the
leaders
of
Israel
to
eat
bread

13
The
next
day
Moses
sat

Moses
from
morning

evening.
14
When
Moses'

said,
"What

Why
do

judge
and
all
the

15
Moses
said
to
his

"Because
the
people
come
to
me
to
learn
God's
will.
16
When
they
argue,
they
come
to
me.
And
I
judge
between
a
man
and
his
neighbor.
I
teach
them
the
Laws
of
God."
17
Moses'
father-in-law
said
to
him,
"What
you
are
doing
is
not
good.
18
You
and
the
people
with
you
will
become
tired
and
weak.
For
the
work
is
too
much
for
you.
You
cannot
do
it
alone.
19
Now
listen
to
me.
I
will
tell
you
what
you
should
do,
and
God
be
with
you.
You
speak
for
the
people
before

Bring
the

Then
teach
them
the
Laws.
Make
them
know
the
way
they

and
the
work
they
must
do.
21
Also,
you
should
choose
from
the
people
able
men
who
fear
God,
men
of
truth
who
hate
to
get
things
by
doing
wrong.
Have
these

23
If
you
do
this
and
God
tells
you
to
do
it,
then
you
will
be
able
to
keep
your
strength.
And
all
these
people
will
go
to
their
place
in
peace."
24
Moses
listened
to
his
father-inlaw,
and
did
all
that
he
had

laws
and
teachings."
17
Moses'
father-in-law
said
to
him,
"You
are
not
doing
this
right.
18
You
and
the
people
who
come
to
you
will
get
too
tired.
This
is
too
much
work
for
you;
you
can't
do
it
by
yourself.
19
Now
listen
to
me,
and
I
will
give
you
some
advice.
I
want
God
to
be
with
you.
You
must
speak
to
God
for
the
people
and
tell
him
about
their
disagreements.
20
Warn
them
about
the
laws
and
teachings,
and
teach
them
the
right
way
to
live
and
what
they
should
do.
21
But
choose
some
capable
men
from
among
the
people
--
men
who
respect
God,
who
can
be
trusted,
and
who
will
not
change
their
decisions
for
money.
Make
these
men
officers
over
the
people,
to
rule
over
groups
of
thousands,
hundreds,
fifties,
and
tens.
22
Let
these
officers
solve
the
disagreements
among
the
people
all
the
time.
They
can
bring
the
hard
cases
to
you,
but
they
can
decide
the
simple
cases
themselves.
That
will
make
it
easier
for
you,
because
they
will
share
the
work
with
you.
23
If
you
do
this
as
God
commands
you,
then
you
will
be
able
to
do
your
job,
and
all
the
people
will
go
home
with
their
disagreements
solved."
24
So
Moses
listened
to
his
father-in-law
and
did
everything
he
said.
25
He
chose
capable
men
from
all
the
Israelites
and
made
them
leaders
over
the
people;
they
were
officers
over
groups
of
thousands,
hundreds,
fifties,
and
tens.
26
These
officers
solved
disagreements
among
the
people
all
the
time.
They
brought
the
hard
cases
to
Moses,
but
they
decided
the
simple
cases
themselves.
27
So
Moses
sent
his
father-in-law
on
his
way,
and
Jethro
went
back
to
his
own
home.
2 Samuel 19:39
39
The
king
kissed
Barzillai
and
blessed
him.
Then
Barzillai
returned
home,
and
the
king
and
all
the
people
crossed
the
Jordan.

1
And
Jethro
the
priest
of
Midian,
the
father-in-law
of
Moses,
heard
all
that
which
God
had
done
for
Moses
and
for
His
people
Israel,
that
Jehovah
had
caused
Israel
to
go
out
from
Egypt.
2
And
Jethro,
Moses'
father-in-law,
took
Zipporah,
Moses'
wife,
(after
Moses
had
sent
her
away,)
3
and
her
two
sons,
one's
name
was
Gershom
(for
he
said,
I
have
become
an
alien
in
a
foreign
land;)
4
and
one's
name
was
Eliezer
(for
the
God
of
my
father
was
my
Help,
and
delivered
me
from
the
sword
of
Pharaoh).
5
And
Jethro,
Moses'
father-in-law,
and
his
sons
and
his
wife
came
to
Moses,
to
the
wilderness
where
he
camped,
at
the
mount
of
God.
6
And
he
said
to
Moses,
I,
your
father-in-law
Jethro,
and
your
wife,
and
your
two
sons
with
her
have
come
to
you.
7
And
Moses
went
out
to
meet
his
father-in-law,
and
bowed,
and
kissed
him.
And
they
asked
each
to
his
neighbor,
as
to
their
welfare.
And
they
came
into
the
tent.
8
And
Moses
told
his
father-in-law
all
that
Jehovah
had
done
to
Pharaoh
and
to
Egypt
on
account
of
Israel,
all
the
trouble
which
they
had
found
in
the
way,
and
Jehovah
had
delivered
them.
9
And
Jethro
rejoiced
regarding
all
the
good
which
Jehovah
had
done
to
Israel
whom
He
had
delivered
from
the
hand
of
Egypt.
10
And
Jethro
said,
Blessed
be
Jehovah
who
has
delivered
you
from
the
hand
of
Egypt,
and
from
the
hand
of
Pharaoh;
He
who
delivered
the
people
from
under
the
hand
of
Egypt.
11
Now
I
know
that
Jehovah
is
greater
than
all
the
gods;
truly,
in
the
way
in
which
He
acted
proudly
against
them.
12
And
Jethro,
the
father-in-law
of
Moses,
took
a
burnt
offering
and
sacrifices
to
God.
And
Aaron
and
all
the
elders
of
Israel
came
to
eat
bread
before
God
with
Moses'
father-in-law.
13
And
it
happened
on
the
next
day
that
Moses
sat
to
judge
the
people.
And
the
people
stood
beside
Moses
from
the
morning
until
the
evening.
14
And
Moses'
father-in-law
saw
all
he
was
doing
to
the
people.
And
he
said,
What
is
this
thing
which
you
are
doing
to
the
people?
Why
are
you
sitting
by
yourself,
and
all
the
people
standing
beside
you
from
morning
until
evening?
15
And
Moses
said
to
his
father-in-law,
Because
the
people
come
to
me
to
seek
God.
16
When
they
have
a
matter,
they
come
to
me,
and
I
judge
between
a
man
and
his
neighbor.
And
I
make
known
the
statutes
of
God,
and
His
laws.
17
And
the
father-in-law
of
Moses
said
to
him,
The
thing
which
you
do
is
not
good.
18
Wearing
you
will
wear
out,
both
you
and
this
people
with
you.
For
the
thing
is
heavy
for
you.
You
are
not
able
to
do
it
by
yourself.
19
Now
listen
to
my
voice.
I
will
counsel
you,
and
may
God
be
with
you.
You
be
for
this
people
before
God,
and
you
bring
the
matters
to
God.
20
And
you
warn
them
as
to
the
statutes
and
the
laws,
and
make
known
to
them
the
way
in
which
they
should
walk,
and
the
work
which
they
should
do.
21
And
you,
you
shall
look
out
men
of
ability
out
of
all
the
people,
who
fear
God,
men
of
truth,
hating
unjust
gain.
And
you
place
these
over
them
as
rulers
of
thousands,
rulers
of
hundreds,
rulers
of
fifties,
and
rulers
of
tens.
22
And
let
them
judge
the
people
at
all
times.
And
it
shall
be
that
every
great
matter
they
shall
bring
to
you,
and
every
small
matter
they
shall
judge.
And
you
make
it
easy
on
yourself,
and
let
them
bear
with
you.
23
If
you
do
this
thing,
and
God
command
you,
you
will
be
able
to
stand;
and
also
this
people
will
go
in
peace
to
their
place.
24
And
Moses
listened
to
the
voice
of
his
father-in-law,
and
he
did
all
that
he
had
said.
25
And
Moses
chose
men
of
ability
from
all
Israel
and
made
them
heads
over
the
people;
rulers
of
thousands,
rulers
of
hundreds,
rulers
of
fifties,
and
rulers
of
tens.
26
And
they
judged
the
people
at
all
times;
the
hard
matters
they
brought
to
Moses,
and
every
small
matter
they
judged
themselves.
27
And
Moses
sent
his
father-in-law
away,
and
he
went
to
his
own
land.
2 Samuel 19:39
39
And
all
the
people
crossed
over
the
Jordan,
and
the
king
crossed
over.
And
the
king
gave
a
kiss
to
Barzillai
and
blessed
him.
And
he
returned
to
his
place.

along

Moses

Eliezer
(because

Moses'

Jethro,
along

came
to

in
the
wilderness
where
he

He
sent
word
to
Moses,
"I,
your
father-in-law
Jethro,
am
coming
to
you
with
your
wife
and
her
two
sons."
7
So
Moses
went
out
to
meet
his
father-in-law,
bowed
down,
and
then
kissed
him.
They
asked
each
other
how
they
had
been
and
went
into
the
tent.
8
Moses
recounted
to
his
father-in-law
all
that
the
LORD
had
done
to
Pharaoh
and
the
Egyptians
for
Israel's
sake,
all
the
hardships
that
confronted
them
on
the
way,
and
how
the
LORD
delivered
them.
9
Jethro
rejoiced
over
all
the
good
things
the
LORD
had
done
for
Israel
when
He
rescued
them
from
the
Egyptians.
10
"Blessed
is
the
LORD,"
Jethro
exclaimed,
"who
rescued
you
from
Pharaoh
and
the
power
of
the
Egyptians,
and
snatched
the
people
from
the
power
of
the
Egyptians.
11
Now
I
know
that
the
LORD
is
greater
than
all
gods,
because
He
did
wonders
at
the
time
the
Egyptians
acted
arrogantly
against
Israel."
12
Then
Jethro,
Moses'
father-in-law,
brought
a
burnt
offering
and
sacrifices
to
God,
and
Aaron
came
with
all
the
elders
of
Israel
to
eat
a
meal
with
Moses'
father-in-law
in
God's
presence.
13
The
next
day
Moses
sat
down
to
judge
the
people,
and
they
stood
around
Moses
from
morning
until
evening.
14
When
Moses'
father-in-law
saw
everything
he
was
doing
for
them
he
asked,
"What
is
this
thing
you're
doing
for
the
people?
Why
are
you
alone
sitting
as
judge,
while
all
the
people
stand
around
you
from
morning
until
evening?"
15
Moses
replied
to
his
father-in-law,
"Because
the
people
come
to
me
to
inquire
of
God.
16
Whenever
they
have
a
dispute,
it
comes
to
me,
and

a
decision
between
one
man

another.
I
teach
them
God's
statutes
and
laws."
17
"What
you're
doing
is

Moses'
father-in-law
said
to
him.
18
"You
will

who
are

because
the
task
is

You

19
Now
listen
to

I

God

You
be
the

represent
the
people

God
and
bring
their
cases
to
Him.
20
Instruct
them
about
the
statutes
and
laws,
and
teach
them
the
way
to
live
and
what
they
must
do.
21
But
you
should
select
from
all
the
people
able

God-fearing,
trustworthy,
and
hating
bribes.
Place
them
over
the
people
as
officials
of
thousands,
hundreds,
fifties,
and
tens.
22
They
should
judge
the
people
at
all
times.
Then
they
can
bring
you
every
important
case
but
judge
every
minor
case
themselves.
In
this
way
you
will
lighten
your
load,
and
they
will
bear
it
with
you.
23
If
you
do
this,
and
God
so
directs
you,
you
will
be
able
to
endure,
and
also
all
these
people
will
be
able
to
go
home
satisfied."
24
Moses
listened
to
his
father-in-law
and
did
everything
he
said.
25
So
Moses
chose
able
men
from
all
Israel
and
made
them

26
They
judged
the
people
at
all
times;
the
hard
cases
they
would
bring
to
Moses,
but
every
minor
case
they
would
judge
themselves.
27
Then
Moses
said
goodbye
to
his
father-in-law,
and
he
journeyed
to
his
own
land.
2 Samuel 19:39
39
So
all
the
people
crossed
the
Jordan,
and
then
the
king
crossed.
The
king
kissed
Barzillai
and
blessed
him,
and
Barzillai
returned
to
his
home.
