1
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
the
LORD
would
take
up
Elijah
into
heaven
by
a
whirlwind,
that
Elijah
went
with
Elisha
from
Gilgal.
2
And
Elijah
said
unto
Elisha,
Tarry
here,
I
pray
thee;
for
the
LORD
hath
sent
me
to
Bethel.
And
Elisha
said
unto
him,
As
the
LORD
liveth,
and
as
thy
soul
liveth,
I
will
not
leave
thee.
So
they
went
down
to
Bethel.
3
And
the
sons
of
the
prophets
that
were
at
Bethel
came
forth
to
Elisha,
and
said
unto
him,
Knowest
thou
that
the
LORD
will
take
away
thy
master
from
thy
head
to
day?
And
he
said,
Yea,
I
know
it;
hold
ye
your
peace.
4
And
Elijah
said
unto
him,
Elisha,
tarry
here,
I
pray
thee;
for
the
LORD
hath
sent
me
to
Jericho.
And
he
said,
As
the
LORD
liveth,
and
as
thy
soul
liveth,
I
will
not
leave
thee.
So
they
came
to
Jericho.
5
And
the
sons
of
the
prophets
that
were
at
Jericho
came
to
Elisha,
and
said
unto
him,
Knowest
thou
that
the
LORD
will
take
away
thy
master
from
thy
head
to
day?
And
he
answered,
Yea,
I
know
it;
hold
ye
your
peace.
6
And
Elijah
said
unto
him,
Tarry,
I
pray
thee,
here;
for
the
LORD
hath
sent
me
to
Jordan.
And
he
said,
As
the
LORD
liveth,
and
as
thy
soul
liveth,
I
will
not
leave
thee.
And
they
two
went
on.
7
And
fifty
men
of
the
sons
of
the
prophets
went,
and
stood
to
view
afar
off:
and
they
two
stood
by
Jordan.
8
And
Elijah
took
his
mantle,
and
wrapped
it
together,
and
smote
the
waters,
and
they
were
divided
hither
and
thither,
so
that
they
two
went
over
on
dry
ground.
9
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
they
were
gone
over,
that
Elijah
said
unto
Elisha,
Ask
what
I
shall
do
for
thee,
before
I
be
taken
away
from
thee.
And
Elisha
said,
I
pray
thee,
let
a
double
portion
of
thy
spirit
be
upon
me.
10
And
he
said,
Thou
hast
asked
a
hard
thing:
nevertheless,
if
thou
see
me
when
I
am
taken
from
thee,
it
shall
be
so
unto
thee;
but
if
not,
it
shall
not
be
so.
11
And
it
came
to
pass,
as
they
still
went
on,
and
talked,
that,
behold,
there
appeared
a
chariot
of
fire,
and
horses
of
fire,
and
parted
them
both
asunder;
and
Elijah
went
up
by
a
whirlwind
into
heaven.
12
And
Elisha
saw
it,
and
he
cried,
My
father,
my
father,
the
chariot
of
Israel,
and
the
horsemen
thereof.
And
he
saw
him
no
more:
and
he
took
hold
of
his
own
clothes,
and
rent
them
in
two
pieces.
13
He
took
up
also
the
mantle
of
Elijah
that
fell
from
him,
and
went
back,
and
stood
by
the
bank
of
Jordan;
14
And
he
took
the
mantle
of
Elijah
that
fell
from
him,
and
smote
the
waters,
and
said,
Where
is
the
LORD
God
of
Elijah?
and
when
he
also
had
smitten
the
waters,
they
parted
hither
and
thither:
and
Elisha
went
over.
15
And
when
the
sons
of
the
prophets
which
were
to
view
at
Jericho
saw
him,
they
said,
The
spirit
of
Elijah
doth
rest
on
Elisha.
And
they
came
to
meet
him,
and
bowed
themselves
to
the
ground
before
him.
16
And
they
said
unto
him,
Behold
now,
there
be
with
thy
servants
fifty
strong
men;
let
them
go,
we
pray
thee,
and
seek
thy
master:
lest
peradventure
the
Spirit
of
the
LORD
hath
taken
him
up,
and
cast
him
upon
some
mountain,
or
into
some
valley.
And
he
said,
Ye
shall
not
send.
17
And
when
they
urged
him
till
he
was
ashamed,
he
said,
Send.
They
sent
therefore
fifty
men;
and
they
sought
three
days,
but
found
him
not.
18
And
when
they
came
again
to
him,
(for
he
tarried
at
Jericho,)
he
said
unto
them,
Did
I
not
say
unto
you,
Go
not?
19
And
the
men
of
the
city
said
unto
Elisha,
Behold,
I
pray
thee,
the
situation
of
this
city
is
pleasant,
as
my
lord
seeth:
but
the
water
is
naught,
and
the
ground
barren.
20
And
he
said,
Bring
me
a
new
cruse,
and
put
salt
therein.
And
they
bring
it
to
him.
21
And
he
went
forth
unto
the
spring
of
the
waters,
and
cast
the
salt
in
there,
and
said,
Thus
saith
the
LORD,
I
have
healed
these
waters;
there
shall
not
be
from
thence
any
more
death
or
barren
land.
22
So
the
waters
were
healed
unto
this
day,
according
to
the
saying
of
Elisha
which
he
spake.
23
And
he
went
up
from
thence
unto
Bethel:
and
as
he
was
going
up
by
the
way,
there
came
forth
little
children
out
of
the
city,
and
mocked
him,
and
said
unto
him,
Go
up,
thou
bald
head;
go
up,
thou
bald
head.
24
And
he
turned
back,
and
looked
on
them,
and
cursed
them
in
the
name
of
the
LORD.
And
there
came
forth
two
she
bears
out
of
the
wood,
and
tare
forty
and
two
children
of
them.
25
And
he
went
from
thence
to
mount
Carmel,
and
from
thence
he
returned
to
Samaria.

said
to
Elisha,
Ask
what
I
shall
do
for
you,
before
I
be
taken
away
from
you.
And
Elisha
said,
I
pray
you,
let
a
double
portion
of
your
spirit
be
on
me.
10
And
he
said,
You
have
asked
a
hard
thing:
nevertheless,
if
you
see
me
when
I
am
taken
from
you,
it
shall
be
so
to
you;
but
if
not,
it
shall
not
be
so.
11
And
it
came
to
pass,
as
they
still
went
on,
and
talked,
that,
behold,
there
appeared
a
chariot
of
fire,
and
horses
of
fire,
and
parted
them
both
asunder;
and
Elijah
went
up
by
a
whirlwind
into
heaven.
12
And
Elisha
saw
it,
and
he
cried,
My
father,
my
father,
the
chariot
of
Israel,
and
the
horsemen
thereof.
And
he
saw
him
no
more:
and
he
took
hold
of
his
own
clothes,
and
rent
them
in
two
pieces.
13
He
took
up
also
the
mantle
of
Elijah
that
fell
from
him,
and
went
back,
and
stood
by
the
bank
of
Jordan;
14
And
he
took
the
mantle
of
Elijah
that
fell
from
him,
and
smote
the
waters,
and
said,
Where
is
the
LORD
God
of
Elijah?
and
when
he
also
had
smitten
the
waters,
they
parted
here
and
thither:
and
Elisha
went
over.
15
And
when
the
sons
of
the
prophets
which
were
to
view
at
Jericho
saw
him,
they
said,
The
spirit
of
Elijah
does
rest
on
Elisha.
And
they
came
to
meet
him,
and
bowed
themselves
to
the
ground
before
him.
16
And
they
said
to
him,
Behold
now,
there
be
with
your
servants
fifty
strong
men;
let
them
go,
we
pray
you,
and
seek
your
master:
lest
peradventure
the
Spirit
of
the
LORD
has
taken
him
up,
and
cast
him
on
some
mountain,
or
into
some
valley.
And
he
said,
You
shall
not
send.
17
And
when
they
urged
him
till
he
was
ashamed,
he
said,
Send.
They
sent
therefore
fifty
men;
and
they
sought
three
days,
but
found
him
not.
18
And
when
they
came
again
to
him,
(for
he
tarried
at
Jericho,)
he
said
to
them,
Did
I
not
say
to
you,
Go
not?
19
And
the
men
of
the
city
said
to
Elisha,
Behold,
I
pray
you,
the
situation
of
this
city
is
pleasant,
as
my
lord
sees:
but
the
water
is
naught,
and
the
ground
barren.
20
And
he
said,
Bring
me
a
new
cruse,
and
put
salt
therein.
And
they
brought
it
to
him.
21
And
he
went
forth
to
the
spring
of
the
waters,
and
cast
the
salt
in
there,
and
said,
Thus
said
the
LORD,
I
have
healed
these
waters;
there
shall
not
be
from
there
any
more
death
or
barren
land.
22
So
the
waters
were
healed
to
this
day,
according
to
the
saying
of
Elisha
which
he
spoke.
23
And
he
went
up
from
there
to
Bethel:
and
as
he
was
going
up
by
the
way,
there
came
forth
little
children
out
of
the
city,
and
mocked
him,
and
said
to
him,
Go
up,
you
bald
head;
go
up,
you
bald
head.
24
And
he
turned
back,
and
looked
on
them,
and
cursed
them
in
the
name
of
the
LORD.
And
there
came
forth
two
she
bears
out
of
the
wood,
and
tare
forty
and
two
children
of
them.
25
And
he
went
from
there
to
mount
Carmel,
and
from
there
he
returned
to
Samaria.

Just
before
the
LORD
took
Elijah
up
to
heaven
in
a
windstorm,
Elijah
and
Elisha
were
traveling
from
Gilgal.
2
Elijah
told
Elisha,
"Stay
here,
for
the
LORD
has
sent
me
to
Bethel."
But
Elisha
said,
"As
certainly
as
the
LORD
lives
and
as
you
live,
I
will
not
leave
you."
So
they
went
down
to
Bethel.

Some
members
of
the
prophetic
guild
in
Bethel
came
out
to
Elisha
and
said,
"Do
you
know
that
today
the
LORD
is
going
to
take
your
master
from
you?"
He
answered,
"Yes,
I
know.
Be
quiet."
4
Elijah
said
to
him,
"Elisha,
stay
here,
for
the
LORD
has
sent
me
to
Jericho."
But
he
replied,
"As
certainly
as
the
LORD
lives
and
as
you
live,
I
will
not
leave
you."
So
they
went
to
Jericho.
5
Some
members
of

in
Jericho
approached
Elisha
and
said,
"Do
you

that
today
the
LORD

take
your
master
from
you?"
He
answered,
"Yes,
I
know.
Be

6
Elijah
said
to
him,
"Stay
here,
for
the
LORD
has
sent
me
to
the
Jordan."
But
he
replied,
"As
certainly
as
the
LORD

and
as
you

I
will
not
leave
you."
So
they
traveled
on
together.

The

members
of
the

guild
went
and
stood
opposite
them
at
a
distance,
while
Elijah

Elisha
stood
by
the
Jordan.
8
Elijah
took
his
cloak,
folded
it
up,
and
hit
the
water
with
it.
The
water
divided,
and
the
two
of
them
crossed
over
on
dry
ground.
9
When
they
had
crossed
over,
Elijah
said
to
Elisha,
"What
can
I
do
for
you,
before
I
am
taken
away
from
you?"
Elisha
answered,
"May
I
receive
a
double
portion
of
the
prophetic
spirit
that
energizes
you."
10
Elijah
replied,
"That's
a
difficult
request!
If
you
see
me
taken
from
you,
may
it
be
so,
but
if
you
don't,
it
will
not
happen."
11
As
they
were
walking
along
and
talking,
suddenly
a
fiery
chariot
pulled
by
fiery
horses
appeared.
They
went
between
Elijah
and
Elisha,
and
Elijah
went
up
to
heaven
in
a
windstorm.
12
While
Elisha
was
watching,
he
was
crying
out,
"My
father,
my
father!
The
chariot
and
horsemen
of
Israel!"
Then
he
could
no
longer
see
him.
He
grabbed
his
clothes
and
tore
them
in
two.
13
He
picked
up
Elijah's
cloak,
which
had
fallen
off
him,
and
went
back
and
stood
on
the
shore
of
the
Jordan.
14
He
took
the
cloak
that
had
fallen
off
Elijah,
hit
the
water
with
it,
and
said,
"Where
is
the
LORD,
THE
God
of
Elijah?"
When
he
hit
the
water,
it
divided
and
Elisha
crossed
over.
15
When
the
members
of
the
prophetic
guild
in
Jericho,
who
were
standing
at
a
distance,
saw
him
do
this,
they
said,
"The
spirit
that
energized
Elijah
rests
upon
Elisha."
They
went
to
meet
him
and
bowed
down
to
the
ground
before
him.
16
They
said
to
him,
"Look,
there
are
fifty
capable
men
with
your
servants.
Let
them
go
and
look
for
your
master,
for
the
wind
sent
from
the
LORD
may
have
carried
him
away
and
dropped
him
on
one
of
the
hills
or
in
one
of
the
valleys."
But
Elisha
replied,
"Don't
send
them
out."
17
But
they
were
so
insistent,
he
became
embarrassed.
So
he
said,
"Send
them
out."
They
sent
the
fifty
men
out
and
they
looked
for
three
days,
but
could
not
find
Elijah.
18
When
they
came
back,
Elisha
was
staying
in
Jericho.
He
said
to
them,
"Didn't
I
tell
you,
'Don't
go'?"
19
The
men
of
the
city
said
to
Elisha,
"Look,
the
city
has
a
good
location,
as
our
master
can
see.
But
the
water
is
bad
and
the
land
doesn't
produce
crops."
20
Elisha
said,
"Get
me
a
new
jar
and
put
some
salt
in
it."
So
they
got
it.
21
He
went
out
to
the
spring
and
threw
the
salt
in.
Then
he
said,
"This
is
what
the
LORD
says,
'I
have
purified
this
water.
It
will
no
longer
cause
death
or
fail
to
produce
crops."
22
The
water
has
been
pure
to
this
very
day,
just
as
Elisha
prophesied.
23
He
went
up
from
there
to
Bethel.
As
he
was
traveling
up
the
road,
some
young
boys
came
out
of
the
city
and
made
fun

him,
saying,

them.

woods

Elijah

a

came
and
separated
Elijah
from
Elisha.
The
horses
and
the
chariot
were
like
fire.
Then
Elijah
was
carried
up
into
heaven
in
a
whirlwind.
12
Elisha
saw
it,
and
shouted,
"My

My

"
Elisha
never
saw
Elijah

Elisha
grabbed
his

and
tore
them
in
two
to
show
his
sadness.
13
Elijah's
coat
had
fallen
to

so
Elisha
picked

He
went

and
stood
at

14
He
hit

said,

Then
Elisha

They

They

16
They

Elisha

to
them,
"I

19
The
men
of
the
city
said
to
Elisha,
"Sir,
you
can
see
this

is
in
a
nice
place,
but
the
water
is
bad.
That
is
why
the
land
cannot

20
Elisha
said,
"Bring
me
a
new

and
put
salt
in
it."
They
brought
the
bowl
to
Elisha.
21
Then
he
went
out
to
the
place
where
the
water
began
flowing
from
the
ground.
Elisha
threw
the
salt
into
the
water
and
said,
"The

And
the
sons
of
the
prophets
who
were
in
Baethel
came
to
Elisaie,
and
said
to
him,
Gr.

Dost
thou
know,
that
the
Lord
this
day
Gr.
takes
is
going
to
take
thy
lord
away
from
thy
head?
And
he
said,
Yea,
I
know
it;
be
silent.
4
And
Eliu
said
to
Elisaie,
Stay
here,
I
pray
thee;
for
the
Lord
has
sent
me
to
Jericho.
And
he
said,
Gr.
The
Lord
lives
if,
etc.
As
the
Lord
lives
and
thy
soul
lives,
I
will
not
leave
thee.
And
they
came
to
Jericho.
5
And
the
sons
of
the
prophets
who
were
in
Jericho
drew
near
to
Elisaie,
and
said
to
him,
Gr.
The

Dost
thou
know
that
the
Lord
is
about
to
take
away
thy
master
to-day
from
thy
head?
And
he
said,
Yea,
I
know
it;
hold
your
peace.
6
And
Eliu
said
to
him,
Stay
here,
I
pray
thee,
for
the
Lord
has
sent
me
to
Jordan.
And
Elisaie
said,
As
the
Lord
lives
and
thy
soul
lives,
I
will
not
leave
thee:
and
they
both
went
on.
7
And
fifty

went
also,
and
they
stood

and
both
stood
on

8
And
Eliu
took
his

and
wrapped
it
together,
and
smote
the
water:
and
the

and

that

and
they
both
went
over

And
it
came
to
pass
while
they
were
crossing
over,
that
Eliu
said
to
Elisaie,
Ask
what
I
shall
do
for
thee
before
I
am

up
from
thee.
And
Elisaie
said,
Let
there
be,
I
pray
thee,
Gr.

thy

a
double

And
Eliu
said,

a

if
thou
shalt
see
me
when
I
am

up
from
thee,
then
shall
it
be
so
to
thee;
and
if
not,
it
shall

be
so.
11
And
it
came
to
pass
as
they
were
going,
they

and,
behold,
a

both;
and
Eliu
was
taken
up
in
a

as

12
And
Elisaie
saw,
and
cried,
Father,
father,
the
chariot
of
Israel,
and
the
horseman
thereof!
And
he
saw
him
no
more:
and
he
took
hold
of
his
garments,
and
rent
them
into
two
pieces.
13
And
Elisaie
took
up
the

of
Eliu,
which

Elisaie;
and
Elisaie
returned,
and
stood

and
he

saw

and
said,

And
they
came
to
meet
him,
and
did

16
And
they

to
him,
Behold
now,
there

fifty

Gr.

of

let
them
go
now,
and
seek
thy

Gr.
lest

up,
and
cast

or
on

And
Elisaie
said,
Ye
shall
not
send.
17
And
they
pressed
him
until
he
was
ashamed;
and
he
said,
Send.
And
they
sent
fifty
men,
and
sought
three
days,
and
found
him
not.
18
And
they
returned
to
him,
for
he
dwelt
in
Jericho:
and
Elisaie
said,
Did
I
not
say
to
you,
Go
not?
19
And
the
men
of
the
city
said
to
Elisaie,
Behold,
the
situation
of
the
city
is
good,
as
our
lord
sees;
but
the
waters
are
bad,
and
the
ground
barren.
20
And
Elisaie
said,
Bring
me
a
new
pitcher,
and
put
salt
in
it.
And
they
took
one,
and
brought
it
to
him.
21
And
Elisaie
went
out
to
the
spring
of
the
waters,
and
cast
salt
therein,
and
says,
Thus
saith
the
Lord,
I
have
healed
these
waters;
there
shall
not
be
any
longer
death
thence
or
barren
land.
22
And
the
waters
were
healed
until
this
day,
according
to
the
word
of
Elisaie
which
he
spoke.
23
And
he
went
up
thence
to
Baethel:
and
as
he
was
going
up
by
the
way
there
came
up
also
little
children
from
the
city,
and
mocked
him,
and
said
to
him,
Go
up,
bald-head,
go
up.
24
And
he
turned
after
them,
and
saw
them,
and
cursed
them
in
the
name
of
the
Lord.
And,
behold,
there
came
out
two
bears
out
of
the
wood,
and
they
tore
forty
and
two
children
of
them.
25
And
he
went
thence
to
mount
Carmel,
and
returned
thence
to
Samaria.

made

said
to
him,
"Go

Go

He

saw

and
cursed
them

Then
two
female
bears
came
from
among
the
trees
and
tore
up
forty-two
of
the
boys.
25
Elisha
went
from
there
to
Mount
Carmel,
then
returned
to
Samaria.

He
said,
"This
is
what
the
Lord
says:
'I
have
healed
this
water.
From
now
on
it
won't
cause
death,
and
it
won't
keep
the
land
from
growing
crops.'"
22
So
the
water
has
been
healed
to
this
day
just
as
Elisha
had
said.
23
From
there
Elisha
went
up
to
Bethel.
On
the
way
some
boys
came
out
of
the
city
and
made
fun
of
him.
They
said
to
him,
"Go
up
too,
you
baldhead!
Go
up
too,
you
baldhead!"
24
Elisha
turned
around,
looked
at
them,
and
put
a
curse
on
them
in
the
name
of
the
Lord.
Then
two
mother
bears
came
out
of
the
woods
and
tore
forty-two
of
the
boys
to
pieces.
25
Elisha
went
to
Mount
Carmel
and
from
there
he
returned
to
Samaria.

Elijah
said
to
Elisha,

it

they

Elisha

he
was
crying,
My

and
stood
on
the
lip
of
the

he
took
Elijah's
mantle

had

Elisha,
Behold,
now,
the

good,

my
lord
sees,
but
the
waters
are
bad;
and
the
ground
causes
barrenness.
20
And
he
said,
Bring
a
new
dish
to
me,
and
put
salt
there.
And
they
took
it
to
him.
21
And
he
went
out
to
the
source
of
the
waters
and
threw
salt
there,
and
said,
So
says
Jehovah,
I
have
given
healing
to
these
waters;
there
shall
not
be
death
and
sterility
there
any
more.
22
And
the
waters
were
healed
to
this
day,
according
to
the
word
of
Elisha
that
he
spoke.
23
And
he
went
up
from
there
to
Bethel.
And
he
was
going
up
in
the

little

out
from
the
city
and
mocked
him,
and
said
to
him,
Go
up,
bald
head!
Go
up,
bald
head!

And
he
turned
behind
him
and
saw
them,
and
declared
them
vile
in
the

of
Jehovah.

two
bears
came
out
of
the
forest
and
tore
forty
two

1
The
time
had
come
for
the
LORD
to
take
Elijah
up
to
heaven
in
a
whirlwind.
Elijah
and
Elisha
were
traveling
from
Gilgal,
2
and
Elijah
said
to
Elisha,
"Stay
here;
the
LORD
is
sending
me
on
to
Bethel."
But
Elisha
replied,
"As
the
LORD
lives
and
as
you
yourself
live,
I
will
not
leave
you."
So
they
went
down
to
Bethel.
3
Then
the
sons
of
the
prophets
who
were
at
Bethel
came
out
to
Elisha
and
said,
"Do
you
know
that
today
the
LORD
will
take
your
master
away
from
you?"
He
said,
"Yes,
I
know.
Be
quiet."
4
Elijah
said
to
him,
"Elisha,
stay
here;
the
LORD
is
sending
me
to
Jericho."
But
Elisha
said,
"As
the
LORD
lives
and
as
you
yourself
live,
I
will
not
leave
you."
So
they
went
to
Jericho.
5
Then
the
sons
of

came
up
to

and
said,
"Do

He
said,
"Yes,
I

Be

Elijah
said
to
him,
"Stay
here;
the
LORD

to
the
Jordan."
But
Elisha
said,
"As
the
LORD

as
you
yourself
live,
I
will
not
leave
you."
So
the
two
of
them
went
on.

took
his

rolled
it
up,
and
struck
the
waters,
which
parted
to
the
right
and
left.
Then
the
two
of
them
crossed
over
on
dry
ground.
9
After
they
had
crossed
over,
Elijah
said
to
Elisha,
"Tell
me
what
I
can
do
for
you
before
I
am
taken
from
you."
So
Elisha
answered,
"Please,
let
there
be
a
double
portion
of
your
spirit
on
me."
10
Elijah
replied,
"You
have
asked
for
something
difficult.
If
you
see
me
being
taken
from
you,
you
will
have
it.
If
not,
you
won't."
11
As
they
continued
walking
and
talking,
a
chariot
of
fire
with
horses
of
fire
suddenly
appeared
and
separated
the
two
of
them.
Then
Elijah
went
up
into
heaven
in
the
whirlwind.
12
As
Elisha
watched,
he
kept
crying
out,
"My
father,
my
father,
the
chariots
and
horsemen
of
Israel!"
Then
he
never
saw
Elijah
again.
He
took
hold
of
his
own
clothes
and
tore
them
into
two
pieces.
13
Elisha
picked
up
the
mantle
that
had
fallen
off
Elijah
and
went
back
and
stood
on
the
bank
of
the
Jordan.
14
Then
he
took
the
mantle
Elijah
had
dropped
and
struck
the
waters.
"Where
is
the
LORD
God
of
Elijah?"
he
asked.
He
struck
the
waters
himself,
and
they
parted
to
the
right
and
the
left,
and
Elisha
crossed
over.
15
When
the
sons
of
the
prophets
from
Jericho,
who
were
facing
him,
saw
him,
they
said,
"The
spirit
of
Elijah
rests
on
Elisha."
They
came
to
meet
him
and
bowed
down
to
the
ground
in
front
of
him.
16
Then
the
sons
of
the
prophets
said
to
Elisha,
"Since
there
are
50
strong
men
here
with
your
servants,
please
let
them
go
and
search
for
your
master.
Maybe
the
Spirit
of
the
LORD
has
carried
him
away
and
put
him
on
one
of
the
mountains
or
into
one
of
the
valleys."
He
answered,
"Don't
send
them
."
17
However,
they
urged
him
to
the
point
of
embarrassment,
so
he
said,
"Send
them
."
They
sent
50
men,
who
looked
for
three
days
but
did
not
find
him.
18
When
they
returned
to
him
in
Jericho
where
he
was
staying,
he
said
to
them,
"Didn't
I
tell
you
not
to
go?"
19
Then
the
men
of
the
city
said
to
Elisha,
"Even
though
our
lord
can
see
that
the
city's
location
is
good,
the
water
is
bad
and
the
land
unfruitful."
20
He
replied,
"Bring
me
a
new
bowl
and
put
salt
in
it."
After
they
had
brought
him
one,
21
Elisha
went
out
to
the
spring
of
water,
threw
salt
in
it,
and
said,
"This
is
what
the
LORD
says:
'I
have
healed
this
water.
No
longer
will
death
or
unfruitfulness
result
from
it.'"
22
Therefore,
the
water
remains
healthy

this
very
day
