2 Samuel 9:6 (ASV) American Standard Version

1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathans sake?
2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba, and they called him unto David; and the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.
3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, who is lame of his feet.
4 And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.
5 Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.
6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came unto David, and fell on his face, and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold, thy servant!
7 And David said unto him, Fear not; for I will surely show thee kindness for Jonathan thy fathers sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8 And he did obeisance, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
9 Then the king called to Ziba, Sauls servant, and said unto him, All that pertained to Saul and to all his house have I given unto thy masters son.
10 And thou shalt till the land for him, thou, and thy sons, and thy servants; and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy masters son may have bread to eat: but Mephibosheth thy masters son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11 Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king commandeth his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the kings sons.
12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he did eat continually at the kings table. And he was lame in both his feet.

2 And there was of the house H1004 of Saul H7586 a servant H5650 NMS whose name H8034 was Ziba H6717 . And when they had called H7121 W-VQY3MP him unto H413 PREP David H1732 MMS , the king H4428 D-NMS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS him , Art thou H859 Ziba H6717 ? And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , Thy servant H5650 is he .
3 And the king H4428 D-NMS said H559 W-VQY3MS , Is there not H657 yet H5750 ADV any H376 NMS of the house H1004 of Saul H7586 , that I may show H6213 the kindness H2617 NMS of God H430 EDP unto H5973 PREP-3MS him ? And Ziba H6717 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS , Jonathan H3083 hath yet H5750 ADV a son H1121 NMS , which is lame H5223 on his feet H7272 .
4 And the king H4428 D-NMS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto him , Where H375 IGAT is he H1931 PPRO-3MS ? And Ziba H6717 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS , Behold H2009 IJEC , he H1931 PPRO-3MS is in the house H1004 CMS of Machir H4353 , the son H1121 of Ammiel H5988 , in Lo H3810 - debar .
5 Then king H4428 D-NMS David H1732 MMS sent H7971 W-VQY3MS , and fetched H3947 him out of the house H1004 of Machir H4353 , the son H1121 of Ammiel H5988 , from Lo H3810 - debar .
6 Now when Mephibosheth H4648 , the son H1121 of Jonathan H3083 , the son H1121 of Saul H7586 , was come H935 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP David H1732 MMS , he fell H5307 W-VQY3MS on H5921 PREP his face H6440 CMP-3MS , and did reverence H7812 . And David H1732 MMS said H559 W-VQY3MS , Mephibosheth H4648 . And he answered H559 W-VQY3MS , Behold H2009 IJEC thy servant H5650 !
7 And David H1732 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto him , Fear H3372 not H408 NPAR : for H3588 CONJ I will surely show H6213 thee kindness H2617 NMS for Jonathan H3083 thy father H1 NMS \'s sake H5668 , and will restore H7725 thee all H3605 NMS the land H7704 CMS of Saul H7586 thy father H1 NMS ; and thou H859 W-PPRO-2MS shalt eat H398 VQY2MS bread H3899 NMS at H5921 PREP my table H7979 continually H8548 .
8 And he bowed himself H7812 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS , What H4100 IPRO is thy servant H5650 , that H3588 CONJ thou shouldest look H6437 upon H413 PREP such H834 RPRO a dead H4191 dog H3611 as I H3644 am ?
9 Then the king H4428 D-NMS called H7121 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP Ziba H6717 , Saul H7586 \'s servant H5288 , and said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS him , I have given H5414 VQQ1MS unto thy master H113 \'s son H1121 all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO pertained H1961 VQQ3MS to Saul H7586 and to all H3605 NMS his house H1004 NMS-3MS .
10 Thou H859 PPRO-2MS therefore , and thy sons H1121 W-CMP-2MS , and thy servants H5650 , shall till H5647 W-VQQ2MS the land H127 D-NFS for him , and thou shalt bring H935 in the fruits , that thy master H113 \'s son H1121 may have H1961 W-VQQ3MS food H3899 to eat H398 : but Mephibosheth H4648 thy master H113 \'s son H1121 NMP shall eat H398 VQY3MS bread H3899 NMS always H8548 at H5921 PREP my table H7979 . Now Ziba H6717 had fifteen H2568 sons H1121 W-CMP-2MS and twenty H6242 W-MMP servants H5650 .
11 Then said H559 W-VQY3MS Ziba H6717 unto H413 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS , According to all H3605 K-NMS that H834 RPRO my lord H113 the king H4428 D-NMS hath commanded H6680 his servant H5650 , so H3651 ADV shall thy servant H5650 do H6213 VQY3MS . As for Mephibosheth H4648 , said the king , he shall eat H398 at H5921 PREP my table H7979 , as one H259 K-NMS of the king\'s sons H1121 .
12 And Mephibosheth H4648 had a young H6996 son H1121 NMS , whose name H8034 was Micha H4316 . And all H3605 W-CMS that dwelt H4186 in the house H1004 CMS of Ziba H6717 were servants H5650 NMP unto Mephibosheth H4648 .
13 So Mephibosheth H4648 dwelt H3427 VQPMS in Jerusalem H3389 : for H3588 CONJ he H1931 PPRO-3MS did eat H398 continually H8548 at H5921 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS \'s table H7979 ; and was lame H6455 on both H8147 ONUM his feet H7272 .
