1 Corinthians 6 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 When one of you has something against someone else in your group, why do you go to the judges in the law courts? The way they think and live is wrong. So why do you let them decide who is right? Why don't you let God's holy people decide who is right?
2 Don't you know that God's people will judge the world? So if you will judge the world, then surely you can judge small arguments like this.
3 You know that in the future we will judge angels. So surely we can judge life's ordinary problems.
4 So if you have such matters to be judged, why do you take them to those who are not part of the church? They mean nothing to you.
5 I say this to shame you. Surely there is someone in your group wise enough to judge a complaint between two believers.
6 But now one believer goes to court against another, and you let people who are not believers judge their case!
7 The lawsuits that you have against each other show that you are already defeated. It would be better for you to let someone wrong you. It would be better to let someone cheat you.
8 But you are the ones doing wrong and cheating. And you do this to your own brothers and sisters in Christ!
9 Surely you know that people who do wrong will not get to enjoy God's kingdom. Don't be fooled. These are the people who will not get to enjoy his kingdom: those who sin sexually, those who worship idols, those who commit adultery, men who let other men use them for sex or who have sex with other men, those who steal, those who are greedy, those who drink too much, those who abuse others with insults, and those who cheat.

11 In the past some of you were like that. But you were washed clean, you were made holy, and you were made right with God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
12 "I am allowed to do anything," you say. My answer to this is that not all things are good. Even if it is true that "I am allowed to do anything," I will not let anything control me like a slave.
13 Someone else says, "Food is for the stomach, and the stomach for food." Yes, and God will destroy them both. But the body is not for sexual sin. The body is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.
14 And God will raise our bodies from death with the same power he used to raise the Lord Jesus.
15 Surely you know that your bodies are parts of Christ himself. So I must never take what is part of Christ and join it to a prostitute!
16 The Scriptures say, "The two people will become one." So you should know that anyone who is joined with a prostitute becomes one with her in body.
17 But anyone who is joined with the Lord is one with him in spirit.
18 So run away from sexual sin. It involves the body in a way that no other sin does. So if you commit sexual sin, you are sinning against your own body.
19 You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You don't own yourselves.
20 God paid a very high price to make you his. So honor God with your body.

3 Know G1492 V-RAI-2P ye not G3756 PRT-N that G3754 CONJ we shall judge G2919 V-FAI-1P angels G32 N-APM ? how much more G3386 things that pertain to this life G982 A-APN ?
4 If G1437 COND then G3767 CONJ ye G3303 PRT have G2192 V-PAS-2P judgments G2922 N-APN of things pertaining to this life G982 A-APN , set G2523 V-PAI-2P them G3588 T-APM to judge who are least esteemed G1848 V-RPP-APM in G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSF church G1577 N-DSF .
5 I speak G3004 V-PAI-1S to G4314 PREP your G5213 P-2DP shame G1791 N-ASF . Is it so G3779 ADV , that there is G2076 not G3756 PRT-N a wise man G4680 A-NSM among G1722 PREP you G5213 P-2DP ? no , not G3761 ADV one G1520 A-NSM that G3739 R-NSM shall be able G1410 V-FDI-3S to judge G1252 V-AAN between G3319 A-ASN his G3588 T-GSM brethren G80 N-GSM ?
6 But G235 CONJ brother G80 N-NSM goeth to law G2919 V-PPI-3S with G3326 PREP brother G80 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ that G5124 D-NSN before G1909 PREP the unbelievers G571 A-GPM .
7 Now G2235 ADV therefore there G3767 CONJ is G2076 V-PXI-3S utterly G3654 ADV a fault G2275 N-NSN among G1722 you G5213 P-2DP , because G3754 CONJ ye go to law G2192 V-PAI-2P one with another G1438 F-3GPM . 8 Nay G235 CONJ , ye G5210 P-2NP do wrong G91 V-PAI-2P , and G2532 CONJ defraud G650 V-PAI-2P , and G2532 CONJ that G5023 D-NPN your brethren G80 N-APM .
9 Know G1492 V-RAI-2P ye not G3756 PRT-N that G3754 CONJ the unrighteous G94 A-NPM shall not G3756 PRT-N inherit G2816 V-FAI-3P the kingdom G932 N-ASF of God G2316 N-GSM ? Be not G3361 PRT-N deceived G4105 V-PPM-2P : neither G3777 CONJ fornicators G4205 N-NPM , nor G3777 CONJ idolaters G1496 N-NPM , nor G3777 CONJ adulterers G3432 N-NPM , nor G3777 CONJ effeminate G3120 A-NPM , nor G3777 CONJ abusers of themselves with mankind G733 N-NPM ,

11 And G2532 CONJ such G5023 D-NPN were G2258 V-IXI-2P some G5100 X-NPM of you : but G235 CONJ ye are washed G628 V-AMI-2P , but G235 CONJ ye are sanctified G37 V-API-2P , but G235 CONJ ye are justified G1344 V-API-2P in G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSN name G3686 N-DSN of G3588 T-GSM the G3588 T-GSM Lord G2962 N-GSM Jesus G2424 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ by G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSN Spirit G4151 N-DSN of G3588 T-GSM our G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM .
12 All things G3956 A-NPN are lawful G1832 V-PQI-3S unto me G3427 P-1DS , but G235 CONJ all things G3956 A-NPN are not expedient G4851 V-PAI-3S : all things G3956 A-NPN are lawful G1832 V-PQI-3S for me G3427 P-1DS , but G235 CONJ I G1473 P-1NS will not G3756 PRT-N be brought under the power G1850 V-FPI-1S of G5259 PREP any G5100 X-GSN .
13 Meats G1033 N-NPN for G3588 T-DSF the G3588 T-DSF belly G2836 N-DSF , and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF belly G2836 N-NSF for G3588 T-NSM meats G1033 N-DPN : but G1161 CONJ God G2316 N-NSM shall destroy G2673 V-FAI-3S both G2532 CONJ it G5026 and G2532 CONJ them G3588 T-NSN . Now G1161 CONJ the G3588 T-NSF body G4983 N-NSN is not G3756 PRT-N for fornication G4202 N-DSF , but G235 CONJ for G3588 T-DSM the G3588 T-DSM Lord G2962 N-DSM ; and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM Lord G2962 N-NSM for G3588 T-DSN the G3588 T-DSN body G4983 N-DSN .
14 And G1161 CONJ God G2316 N-NSM hath both G2532 CONJ raised up G1453 V-AAI-3S the G3588 T-ASM Lord G2962 N-ASM , and G2532 CONJ will also raise up G1825 V-FAI-3S us G2248 P-1AP by G1223 PREP his G3588 T-GSF own G848 power G1411 N-GSF .
15 Know G1492 V-RAI-2P ye not G3756 PRT-N that G3754 CONJ your G3588 T-NPN bodies G4983 N-NPN are G2076 V-PXI-3S the members G3196 N-NPN of Christ G5547 N-GSM ? shall I then G3767 CONJ take G142 V-AAP-NSM the G3588 T-APN members G3196 N-APN of Christ G5547 N-GSM , and make G4160 V-AAS-1S them the members G3196 N-APN of a harlot G4204 N-GSF ? God forbid G1096 V-2ADO-3S .
16 What G2228 PRT ? know G1492 V-RAI-2P ye not G3756 PRT-N that G3588 T-NSM he G3588 T-DSF which G3588 T-DSF is joined G2853 V-PPP-NSM to a harlot G4204 N-DSF is G2076 V-PXI-3S one G1520 A-NSN body G4983 N-NSN ? for G3588 T-NPM two G1417 A-NUI , saith G5346 V-PXI-3S he , shall be G2071 V-FXI-3P one G3391 flesh G4561 N-ASF .
17 But G1161 CONJ he that is joined G2853 V-PPP-NSM unto the G3588 T-DSM Lord G2962 N-DSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S one G1520 A-NSN spirit G4151 N-NSN .
18 Flee G5343 V-PAM-2P fornication G4202 N-ASF . Every G3956 A-NSN sin G265 N-NSN that G3739 R-ASN a man G444 N-NSM doeth G4160 V-AAS-3S is G2076 V-PXI-3S without G1622 ADV the G3588 T-GSN body G4983 N-GSN ; but G1161 CONJ he that committeth fornication G4203 V-PAP-NSM sinneth G264 V-PAI-3S against G1519 PREP his own G2398 A-ASN body G4983 N-ASN .
19 What G2228 PRT ? know G1492 V-RAI-2P ye not G3756 PRT-N that G3754 CONJ your G3588 T-NSN body G4983 N-NSN is G2076 V-PXI-3S the temple G3485 N-NSM of the G3588 T-NSN Holy G40 A-GSN Ghost G4151 N-GSN which is in G1722 PREP you G5213 P-2DP , which G3739 R-GSN ye have G2192 V-PAI-2P of G575 PREP God G2316 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ ye are G2075 V-PXI-2P not G3756 PRT-N your own G1438 F-3GPM ?
20 For G1063 CONJ ye are bought G59 V-API-2P with a price G5092 N-GSF : therefore G1211 PRT glorify G1392 V-AAM-2P God G2316 N-ASM in G1722 PREP your G3588 T-DSN body G4983 N-DSN , and G2532 CONJ in G1722 PREP your G3588 T-DSN spirit G4151 N-DSN , which G3748 R-NPN are G2076 V-PXI-3S God G2316 N-GSM \'s .
