Leviticus 1 (GNB) Good News Bible

1 The LORD called to Moses from the Tent of the LORD's presence and gave him the following rules
2 for the Israelites to observe when they offer their sacrifices. When you offer an animal sacrifice, it may be one of your cattle or one of your sheep or goats.
3 If you are offering one of your cattle as a burnt offering, you must bring a bull without any defects. You must present it at the entrance of the Tent of the LORD's presence so that the LORD will accept you.
4 You shall put your hand on its head, and it will be accepted as a sacrifice to take away your sins.
5 You shall kill the bull there, and the Aaronite priests shall present the blood to the LORD and then throw it against all four sides of the altar located at the entrance of the Tent.
6 Then you shall skin the animal and cut it up,
7 and the priests shall arrange firewood on the altar and light it.
8 They shall put on the fire the pieces of the animal, including the head and the fat.
9 You must wash the internal organs and the hind legs, and the officiating priest will burn the whole sacrifice on the altar. The odor of this food offering is pleasing to the LORD.
10 If you are offering one of your sheep or goats, it must be a male without any defects.
11 You shall kill it on the north side of the altar, and the priests shall throw its blood on all four sides of the altar.
12 After you cut it up, the officiating priest shall put on the fire all the parts, including the head and the fat.
13 You must wash the internal organs and the hind legs, and the priest will present the sacrifice to the LORD and burn all of it on the altar. The odor of this food offering is pleasing to the LORD.
14 If you are offering a bird as a burnt offering, it must be a dove or a pigeon.
15 The priest shall present it at the altar, wring its neck, and burn its head on the altar. Its blood shall be drained out against the side of the altar.
16 He shall remove the crop and its contents and throw them away on the east side of the altar where the ashes are put.
17 He shall take hold of its wings and tear its body open, without tearing the wings off, and then burn it whole on the altar. The odor of this food offering is pleasing to the LORD.

2 Speak H1696 VPFC unto H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , and say H559 unto H413 PREP them , If H3588 CONJ any man H120 NMS of H4480 PREP you bring H7126 an offering H7133 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS , ye shall bring H7126 your offering H7133 of H4480 PREP the cattle H929 D-NFS , even of H4480 PREP the herd H1241 D-NMS , and of H4480 PREP the flock H6629 .
3 If H518 PART his offering H7133 be a burnt sacrifice H5930 of H4480 PREP the herd H1241 D-NMS , let him offer H7126 a male H2145 NMS without blemish H8549 AMS : he shall offer H7126 it of his own voluntary will H7522 at H413 PREP the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 NMS before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
4 And he shall put H5564 his hand H3027 CFS-3MS upon H5921 PREP the head H7218 NMS of the burnt offering H5930 ; and it shall be accepted H7521 for him to make atonement H3722 for H5921 PREP him .
5 And he shall kill H7819 the bullock H1121 before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS : and the priests H3548 , Aaron H175 \'s sons H1121 , shall bring H7126 the blood H1818 , and sprinkle H2236 the blood H1818 round about H5439 ADV upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 D-NMS that H834 RPRO is by the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 .
6 And he shall flay H6584 the burnt offering H5930 , and cut H5408 it into his pieces H5409 .
7 And the sons H1121 of Aaron H175 the priest H3548 shall put H5414 fire H784 CMS upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 D-NMS , and lay the wood in order H6186 upon H5921 PREP the fire H784 :
8 And the priests H3548 , Aaron H175 \'s sons H1121 , shall lay H6186 the parts H5409 , the head H7218 , and the fat H6309 , in order upon H5921 PREP the wood H6086 that H834 RPRO is on H5921 PREP the fire H784 which H834 RPRO is upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 :
9 But his inwards H7130 and his legs H3767 shall he wash H7364 in water H4325 : and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 all H3605 on the altar H4196 , to be a burnt sacrifice H5930 , an offering made by fire H801 , of a sweet H5207 savor H7381 unto the LORD H3068 L-NAME-4MS .
10 And if H518 W-PART his offering H7133 be of H4480 PREP the flocks H6629 , namely , of H4480 PREP the sheep H3775 , or H176 CONJ of H4480 PREP the goats H5795 , for a burnt sacrifice H5930 ; he shall bring H7126 it a male H2145 NMS without blemish H8549 AMS .
11 And he shall kill H7819 it on H5921 PREP the side H3409 of the altar H4196 D-NMS northward H6828 NFS-3FS before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS : and the priests H3548 , Aaron H175 \'s sons H1121 , shall sprinkle H2236 his blood H1818 CMS-3MS round about H5439 upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 D-NMS .
12 And he shall cut H5408 it into his pieces H5409 , with H854 W-PART his head H7218 CMS-3MS and his fat H6309 : and the priest H3548 shall lay them in order H6186 on H5921 PREP the wood H6086 that H834 RPRO is on H5921 PREP the fire H784 which H834 RPRO is upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 :
13 But he shall wash H7364 the inwards H7130 and the legs H3767 with water H4325 : and the priest H3548 shall bring H7126 it all H3605 , and burn H6999 it upon the altar H4196 : it H1931 PPRO-3MS is a burnt sacrifice H5930 , an offering made by fire H801 , of a sweet H5207 savor H7381 CMS unto the LORD H3068 .
14 And if H518 W-PART the burnt sacrifice H5930 for his offering H7133 to the LORD H3068 L-EDS be of H4480 PREP fowls H5775 D-NMS , then he shall bring H7126 his offering H7133 of H4480 PREP turtledoves H8449 , or H176 CONJ of H4480 PREP young H1121 pigeons H3123 D-NFS .
15 And the priest H3548 shall bring H7126 it unto H413 PREP the altar H4196 D-NMS , and wring off H4454 his head H7218 CMS-3MS , and burn H6999 it on the altar H4196 ; and the blood H1818 CMS-3MS thereof shall be wrung out H4680 at H5921 PREP the side H7023 of the altar H4196 :
16 And he shall pluck away H5493 his crop H4760 with his feathers H5133 , and cast H7993 it beside H681 the altar H4196 D-NMS on the east part H6924 , by H413 PREP the place H4725 CMS of the ashes H1880 :
17 And he shall cleave H8156 it with the wings H3671 thereof , but shall not H3808 NADV divide it asunder H914 : and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 it upon the altar H4196 , upon H5921 PREP the wood H6086 that H834 RPRO is upon H5921 PREP the fire H784 : it H1931 PPRO-3MS is a burnt sacrifice H5930 , an offering made by fire H801 , of a sweet H5207 savor H7381 CMS unto the LORD H3068 .
