Acts 8:26 (KJV) King James Version

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.
25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

5 Then G1161 CONJ Philip G5376 N-NSM went down G2718 V-2AAP-NSM to G1519 PREP the G3588 T-GSF city G4172 N-ASF of Samaria G4540 N-GSF , and preached G2784 V-IAI-3S Christ G5547 N-ASM unto them G846 P-DPM .
6 And G5037 PRT the G3588 T-NPM people G3793 N-NPM with one accord G3661 ADV gave heed G4337 V-IAI-3P unto those G3588 T-GSM things which G3588 T-GSM Philip G5376 N-GSM spake G3004 V-PPP-DPN , hearing G191 V-PAN and G2532 CONJ seeing G991 V-PAN the G3588 T-APN miracles G4592 N-APN which G3739 R-APN he did G4160 V-IAI-3S .
7 For G1063 CONJ unclean G169 A-APN spirits G4151 N-APN , crying G994 V-PAP-NPN with loud G3173 A-DSF voice G5456 N-DSF , came out G1831 V-INI-3S of G3588 T-GPM many G4183 A-GPM that were possessed G2192 V-PAP-GPM with them : and G1161 CONJ many G4183 A-NPM taken with palsies G3886 V-RPP-NPM , and G2532 CONJ that were lame G5560 A-NPM , were healed G2323 V-API-3P .
8 And G2532 CONJ there was G1096 V-2ADI-3S great G3173 A-NSF joy G5479 N-NSF in G1722 PREP that G3588 T-DSF city G4172 N-DSF .
9 But G1161 CONJ there was a certain G5100 X-NSM man G435 N-NSM , called G3686 N-DSN Simon G4613 N-NSM , which beforetime G4391 V-IAI-3S in G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSF same city G4172 N-DSF used sorcery G3096 V-PAP-NSM , and G2532 CONJ bewitched G1839 V-PAP-NSM the G3588 T-ASN people G1484 N-ASN of Samaria G4540 N-GSF , giving out G3004 V-PAP-NSM that himself G1438 F-3ASM was G1511 V-PXN some G5100 X-ASM great one G3173 A-ASM :

11 And G1161 CONJ to him G846 P-DSM they had regard G4337 V-IAI-3P , because that of long G2425 A-DSM time G5550 N-DSM he had bewitched G1839 V-RAN them G3588 T-DPF with sorceries G3095 N-DPF .

34 And G1161 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM eunuch G2135 N-NSM answered G611 V-AOP-NSM Philip G5376 N-DSM , and said G2036 V-2AAI-3S , I pray G1189 V-PNI-1S thee G4675 P-2GS , of G4012 PREP whom G5101 I-GSM speaketh G3004 V-PAI-3S the G3588 T-NSM prophet G4396 N-NSM this G5124 D-ASN ? of G4012 PREP himself G1438 F-3GSM , or G2228 PRT of G4012 PREP some other man G5101 I-GSM ?

36 And G1161 CONJ as G5613 ADV they went G4198 V-INI-3P on G2596 PREP their way G3598 N-ASF , they came G2064 V-2AAI-3P unto G1909 PREP a certain G5100 X-ASN water G5204 N-ASN : and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM eunuch G2135 N-NSM said G5346 V-PXI-3S , See G2400 V-2AAM-2S , here is water G5204 N-NSN ; what G5101 I-NSN doth hinder G2967 V-PAI-3S me G3165 P-1AS to be baptized G907 V-APN ?
37 And G1161 Philip G5376 said G2036 , If G1487 thou believest G4100 with G1537 all G3650 thine heart G2588 , thou mayest G1832 . And G1161 he answered G611 and said G2036 , I believe G4100 that Jesus G2424 Christ G5547 is G1511 the G3588 Son G5207 of God G2316 .

39 And G1161 CONJ when G3753 ADV they were come up G305 V-2AAI-3P out of G1537 PREP the G3588 T-GSN water G5204 N-GSN , the Spirit G4151 N-NSN of the Lord G2962 N-GSM caught away G726 V-AAI-3S Philip G5376 N-ASM , that G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM eunuch G2135 N-NSM saw G1492 V-2AAI-3S him G846 P-ASM no more G3765 ADV : and G1063 CONJ he went G4198 V-INI-3S on his G3588 T-ASF way G3598 N-ASF rejoicing G5463 V-PAP-NSM .
40 But G1161 CONJ Philip G5376 N-NSM was found G2147 V-API-3S at G1519 PREP Azotus G108 N-ASF : and G2532 CONJ passing through G1330 V-PNP-NSM he preached G2097 V-IMI-3S in all G3956 A-APF the G3588 T-APF cities G4172 N-APF , till G2193 CONJ he G3588 T-GSM came G2064 V-2AAN to G1519 PREP Caesarea G2542 N-ASF .
