1 யோதாம் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, பதினாறு வருஷம் எருசலேமிலே அரசாண்டான்; சாதோக்கின் குமாரத்தியாகிய அவன் தாயின் பேர் எருசாள்.
2 அவன் தன் தகப்பனாகிய உசியா செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்; ஆனாலும் அவனைப்போலக் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்குள் பிரவேசியாதிருந்தான்; ஜனங்கள் இன்னும் தங்ளைக் கெடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
3 அவன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் உயர்ந்த வாசலைக் கட்டினதுமல்லாமல், ஓபேலின் மதிலின்மேல் அநேக கட்டடங்களையும் கட்டினான்.
4 யூதாவின் மலைகளிலே பட்டணங்களையும், காடுகளிலே கோட்டைகளையும் கோபுரங்களையும் கட்டினான்.
5 அவன் அம்மோன் புத்திரருடைய ராஜாவோடு யுத்தம்பண்ணி அவர்களை மேற்கொண்டான்; ஆதலால் அம்மோன் புத்திரர் அவனுக்கு அந்த வருஷத்திலே நூறு தாலந்து வெள்ளியையும், பதினாயிரங்கலக் கோதுமையையும், பதினாயிரங்கலம் வாற்கோதுமையையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்; இரண்டாம் மூன்றாம் வருஷத்திலும் அம்மோன் புத்திரர் அப்படியே அவனுக்குச் செலுத்தினார்கள்.
6 யோதாம் தன் வழிகளைத் தன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நேராக்கினதினால் பலப்பட்டான்.
7 யோதாமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவனுடைய சகல யுத்தங்களும், அவனுடைய நடைகளும், இஸ்ரவேல் யூதா ராஜாக்களின் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது.
8 அவன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, பதினாறு வருஷம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டான்.
9 யோதாம் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின்பு, அவனைத் தாவீதின் நகரத்திலே அடக்கம் பண்ணினார்கள்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய ஆகாஸ் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.
