1 اورشاہِ ارام کے لشکر کا سردار نعمان اپنے آقا کے نزدیک معزز و مکرم شخص تھا کیونکہ خُداوند نے اُس کے وسیلہ سے ارام کو فتح بخشی تھی وہ زبردست سورما بھی تھا لیکن کوڑھی تھا ۔

2 اور ارامی دل باند ھ کر نکلے تھے اور اسرائیل کے مُلک میں سے ایک چھوٹی لڑکی کو اسیر کر کے لے آئے تھے ۔ وہ نعمان کی بیوی ی خدمت کرتی تھی ۔

3 اُس نے اپنی بی بی سے کہا کاش میرا ٓقا اُس نبی کے ہاں ہوتا جو سامریہ میں ہے تو وہ اُسے اُس کے کوڑھ سے شفا دے دیتا ۔

4 سو کسی نے اندر جا کر اپنے مالک سے کہا وہ چھوکری جو اسرائیل کے مُلک کی ہے ایسا ایسا کہتی ہے ۔

5 سو ارام کے بادشاہ نے کہا تو جا اور میں شاہِ اسرائیل کو خط بھیجوں گا سو وہ روانہ ہوا اور دس قنطار چاندی اور چھ ہزار مثقال سونا اور دس جوڑے کپڑے اپنے ساتھ لے لیے ۔

6 اور وہ اُس خط کو شاہ اسرائیل کے پاس لایا جس کا مضمون یہ تھا کہ یہ نامہ جب تجھ کو مِلے تو جان لینا کہ میں نے اپنے خادم نعمان کو تیرے پاس بھیجا ہے تاکہ تو اُس کے کوڑھ دے اُسے شفا دے ۔

7 جب شاہِ اسرائیل نے اُس خط کو پڑھا تو اپنے کپڑے پھاڑ کر کہا کیا میں خُدا ہوں کہ ماروں اور جلاوں جو یہ شخص ایک آدمی کو میر ے پاس بھیجتا ہے کہ اُس کو کوڑھ سے شفا دوں سو اب ذرا غور کرو دیکھو کہ وہ کس طرح مجھ سے جھگڑنے کا بہانہ ڈھونڈھتا ہے ۔

8 جب مردِ خُدا الیشع نے سُنا کہ شاہ اسرائیل نے اپنے کپڑے پھاڑے تو بادشاہ کو کہلا بھیجا تُو نے اپنے کپڑے کیوں پھاڑے اب اُسے میرے پاس آنے سے اور وہ جان لے گا کہ اسرائیل میں ایک نبی ہے ۔

9 سو نعمان اپنے گھوڑوں اور رتھوں سمیت آیا اور الیشع کے گھر کے دروازہ پر کھڑا ہوا

10 اور الیشع نے ایک قاصد کی معرفت کہلا بھیجا جا اور یردن میں سات بار غوطہ مار تو تیرا جسم پھر بحال ہو جائے گا اور تو پاک صاف ہو گا ۔

11 پر نعمان ناراض ہو کر چلا گیا اور کہنے لگا مجھے گُمان تھا کہ وہ نکل کر ضرور میرے پاس آئے گا اور کھڑا ہو کر خُداوند اپنے خُدا سے دعا کرے گا اور اُس جگہ کے اوپر اپنا ہاتھ ادھر اُدھر ہلاک کر کوڑھی کو شفا د ے گا ۔

12 کیا دمشق کے دریا ابانہ اور فرفر اسرائیل کی سب ندیوں سے بڑھ کر نہیں ہے ۔ کیا میں اُن میں نہا کر پاک صا ف نہیں ہو سکتا ؟ سو وہ مُڑا اور بڑے قہر میں چلا گیا ۔

13 تب اُس کے ملازم پاس آکر اُس سے یوں کہنے لگے اے ہمارے باپ اگر وہ نبی کوئی بڑا کام کرنے کا حکم تجھے دیتا تو کیا تُو اُسے نہ کرتا ؟ پس جب وہ تجھ سے کہتا ہے کہ نہا لے اور پاک صاف ہو جا تو کتنا زیادہ اُس سے ماننا چاہیے ۔

14 تب اُس نے اُتر کر مردِ خُدا کے کہنے کے مطابق یردن میں سات غوطے مارے اور اُس کا جسم چھوٹے بچے کے جسم کی مانند ہو گیا اور وہ پاک صاف ہوا۔

15 پھر وہ اپنی جلو کے سب لوگوں کے ساتھ مردِ خُدا کے پاس لوٹااور اُس کے سامنے کھڑا ہوا اور کہنے لگا کہ دیکھ اب میں نے جان لیا کہ اسرائیل کو چھوڑ اور کہیں رویِ زمین پر کوئی خُدا نہیں اِس لیے اب کرم فرما کر اپنے خادم کا ہدیہ قبول کر ۔

16 لیکن اُس نے جواب دیا خُداوند کی حیات کی قسم جس کے آگے میں کھڑا ہوں میں کچھ نہیں لونگا اور اُس نے اُس سے بہت اصرار کیا کہ لے پر اُس نے انکار کیا ۔

17 تب نعمان نے کہا اچھا تو میں تیری منت کرتا ہوں کہ تیرے خادم کو دو خچروں کو بوجھ مٹی دی جائے کیونکہ تیرا خادم اب سے آگے کو خُداوند کے سوا کسی غیر معبود کے حضور نہ تو سوختنی قُربانی نی ذبیحہ چڑھائے گا ۔

18 پر اتنی بات میں خُداوند تیرے خادم کو معاف کرے کہ جب میرا آقا پرستش کرنے کو رمون کے مندر میں جائے اور وہ میرے ہاتھ پر تکیہ کرے اور میں رمون کے مندر میں سر نگوں ہووں تو جب میں رمون کے مندر میں سر نگوں ہووں تو خُداوند اِس بات میں تیرے خادم کو معاف کرے ۔

19 اُس نے اُس سے کہا سلامت جا سو وہ اُس سے رخصت ہو کر تھوڑی دور نکل گیا۔

20 لیکن اس مردِ خُدا الیشع کے خادم جیحازی نے سوچا کہ میرے آقا نے ارامی نعمان کو یوں ہی جانے دیا کہ جو کچھ وہ لایا تھااُس سے نہ لیا سو خُداوند کی حیات کی قسم میں اُس کے پیچھے دوڑ جاوں گا اور اُ س سے کچھ نہ کچھ لوں گا ۔

21 سو جیحازی نعمان کے پیچھے چلا ، جب نعمان نے دیکھا کہ کوئی اُس کے پیچھے دوڑا چلا آ رہا ہے تو وہ ُا سے ملنے کو رتھ پر سے اُترا اور کہا خیر تو ہے ۔

22 اُس نے کہا سب خیر ہے میرے مالک نے مجھے یہ کہنے کو بھیجا ہے کہ دیکھ انبیا زادوں میں سے ابھی دو جوان افرائیم کے کوہستانی مُلک سے میرے پاس آ گئے ہیں سو ذرا ایک قنظار چاندی اور دو جوڑے کپڑے اُن کے لیے دے دے ۔

23 نعمان نے کہا خوشی سے دو قنطار کے اور وہ اُس سے بجد ہوا اور اُس نے دو قنطار چاندی اور دو تھیلیوں میں باندھی اور دو جوڑے کپڑوں سمیت اُن کو اپنے دو نوکروں پر لادا اور وہ اُن کو لیکر اُس کے آگے آگے چلے ۔

24 اور اُس نے ٹیلے پر پہنچ کر اُن کے ہاتھ سے اُن کو لے لیا اور گھر میں رکھ دیا ۔ اور اُن مردوں کو رخصت کیا سو وہ چلے گئے ۔

25 لیکن آپ اندر جا کر اپنے آقا کے حضور کھڑا ہو گیا ، الیشع نے اُس سے کہا جیحازی تُو کہاں سے آ رہا ہے اُس نے کہا تیرا خادم تو کہیں نہیں گیا تھا ۔

26 اُس نے اُس سے کہا کیا میرا دل اُس وقت تیرے ساتھ نہ تھا جب دو شخص تُجھ سے ملنے کو اپنے رتھ پر سے لوٹا کیا روپے لینے اور پوشاک اور زیتون کے باغوں اور تاکستانوں اور بھیڑوں اور بیلوں اور غُلاموں اور لونڈیوں کے لینے کا یہ وقت ہے

27 اِس لیے نعمان کا کوڑھ تُجھے اور تیری نسل کو سد ا لگا رہے گا ۔ سو وہ برف سا سفید کوڑھی ہو کر اُس کے سامنے سے چلا گیا ۔

1 Now Naaman, ^H5283 captain ^H8269 of the host ^H6635 of the king ^H4428 of Syria, ^H758 was ^H1961 a great ^H1419 man ^H376 with ^H6440 his master, ^H113 and honorable ^H5375 ^H6440 , because ^H3588 by him the LORD ^H3068 had given ^H5414 deliverance ^H8668 unto Syria: ^H758 he was ^H1961 also a mighty ^H1368 man ^H376 in valor, ^H2428 but he was a leper. ^H6879

2 And the Syrians ^H758 had gone out ^H3318 by companies, ^H1416 and had brought away captive ^H7617 out of the land ^H4480 ^H776 of Israel ^H3478 a little ^H6996 maid; ^H5291 and she waited ^H1961 ^H6440 on Naaman's ^H5283 wife. ^H802

3 And she said ^H559 unto ^H413 her mistress, ^H1404 Would God ^H305 my lord ^H113 were with ^H6440 the prophet ^H5030 that ^H834 is in Samaria ^H8111 ! for ^H227 he would recover ^H622 him of his leprosy ^H4480 ^H6883 .

4 And one went in, ^H935 and told ^H5046 his lord, ^H113 saying, ^H559 Thus ^H2063 and thus ^H2063 said ^H1696 the maid ^H5291 that ^H834 is of the land ^H4480 ^H776 of Israel. ^H3478

5 And the king ^H4428 of Syria ^H758 said, ^H559 Go to, ^H1980 go, ^H935 and I will send ^H7971 a letter ^H5612 unto ^H413 the king ^H4428 of Israel. ^H3478 And he departed, ^H1980 and took ^H3947 with ^H3027 him ten ^H6235 talents ^H3603 of silver, ^H3701 and six ^H8337 thousand ^H505 pieces of gold, ^H2091 and ten ^H6235 changes ^H2487 of raiment. ^H899

6 And he brought ^H935 the letter ^H5612 to ^H413 the king ^H4428 of Israel, ^H3478 saying, ^H559 Now ^H6258 when this ^H2088 letter ^H5612 is come ^H935 unto ^H413 thee, behold, ^H2009 I have therewith sent ^H7971 ^H853 Naaman ^H5283 my servant ^H5650 to ^H413 thee , that thou mayest recover ^H622 him of his leprosy ^H4480 ^H6883 .

7 And it came to pass, ^H1961 when the king ^H4428 of Israel ^H3478 had read ^H7121 ^H853 the letter, ^H5612 that he rent ^H7167 his clothes, ^H899 and said, ^H559 Am I ^H589 God, ^H430 to kill ^H4191 and to make alive, ^H2421 that ^H3588 this ^H2088 man doth send ^H7971 unto ^H413 me to recover ^H622 a man ^H376 of his leprosy ^H4480 ^H6883 ? wherefore ^H3588 ^H389 consider, ^H3045 I pray you, ^H4994 and see ^H7200 how ^H3588 he ^H1931 seeketh a quarrel ^H579 against me.

8 And it was ^H1961 so , when Elisha ^H477 the man ^H376 of God ^H430 had heard ^H8085 that ^H3588 the king ^H4428 of Israel ^H3478 had rent ^H7167 ^H853 his clothes, ^H899 that he sent ^H7971 to ^H413 the king, ^H4428 saying, ^H559 Wherefore ^H4100 hast thou rent ^H7167 thy clothes ^H899 ? let him come ^H935 now ^H4994 to ^H413 me , and he shall know ^H3045 that ^H3588 there is ^H3426 a prophet ^H5030 in Israel. ^H3478

9 So Naaman ^H5283 came ^H935 with his horses ^H5483 and with his chariot, ^H7393 and stood ^H5975 at the door ^H6607 of the house ^H1004 of Elisha. ^H477

10 And Elisha ^H477 sent ^H7971 a messenger ^H4397 unto ^H413 him, saying, ^H559 Go ^H1980 and wash ^H7364 in Jordan ^H3383 seven ^H7651 times, ^H6471 and thy flesh ^H1320 shall come again ^H7725 to thee , and thou shalt be clean. ^H2891

11 But Naaman ^H5283 was wroth, ^H7107 and went away, ^H1980 and said, ^H559 Behold, ^H2009 I thought, ^H559 He will surely come out ^H3318 ^H3318 to ^H413 me , and stand, ^H5975 and call ^H7121 on the name ^H8034 of the LORD ^H3068 his God, ^H430 and strike ^H5130 his hand ^H3027 over ^H413 the place, ^H4725 and recover ^H622 the leper. ^H6879

12 Are not ^H3808 Abana ^H71 and Pharpar, ^H6554 rivers ^H5104 of Damascus, ^H1834 better ^H2896 than all ^H4480 ^H3605 the waters ^H4325 of Israel ^H3478 ? may I not ^H3808 wash ^H7364 in them , and be clean ^H2891 ? So he turned ^H6437 and went away ^H1980 in a rage. ^H2534

13 And his servants ^H5650 came near, ^H5066 and spoke ^H1696 unto ^H413 him , and said, ^H559 My father, ^H1 if the prophet ^H5030 had bid ^H1696 ^H413 thee do some great ^H1419 thing, ^H1697 wouldest thou not ^H3808 have done ^H6213 it ? how much rather ^H637 then, when ^H3588 he saith ^H559 to ^H413 thee, Wash, ^H7364 and be clean ^H2891 ?

14 Then went he down, ^H3381 and dipped ^H2881 himself seven ^H7651 times ^H6471 in Jordan, ^H3383 according to the saying ^H1697 of the man ^H376 of God: ^H430 and his flesh ^H1320 came again ^H7725 like unto the flesh ^H1320 of a little ^H6996 child, ^H5288 and he was clean. ^H2891

18 In this ^H2088 thing ^H1697 the LORD ^H3068 pardon ^H5545 thy servant, ^H5650 that when my master ^H113 goeth ^H935 into the house ^H1004 of Rimmon ^H7417 to worship ^H7812 there, ^H8033 and he ^H1931 leaneth ^H8172 on ^H5921 my hand, ^H3027 and I bow myself ^H7812 in the house ^H1004 of Rimmon: ^H7417 when I bow down myself ^H7812 in the house ^H1004 of Rimmon, ^H7417 the LORD ^H3068 pardon ^H5545 thy servant ^H5650 in this ^H2088 thing. ^H1697

20 But Gehazi, ^H1522 the servant ^H5288 of Elisha ^H477 the man ^H376 of God, ^H430 said, ^H559 Behold, ^H2009 my master ^H113 hath spared ^H2820 ^H853 Naaman ^H5283 this ^H2088 Syrian, ^H761 in not receiving ^H4480 ^H3947 at his hands ^H4480 ^H3027 ^H853 that which ^H834 he brought: ^H935 but ^H3588 ^H518 , as the LORD ^H3068 liveth, ^H2416 I will run ^H7323 after ^H310 him , and take ^H3947 somewhat ^H3972 of ^H4480 ^H854 him.

21 So Gehazi ^H1522 followed ^H7291 after ^H310 Naaman. ^H5283 And when Naaman ^H5283 saw ^H7200 him running ^H7323 after ^H310 him , he lighted down ^H5307 from ^H4480 ^H5921 the chariot ^H4818 to meet ^H7122 him , and said, ^H559 Is all well ^H7965 ?

22 And he said, ^H559 All is well. ^H7965 My master ^H113 hath sent ^H7971 me, saying, ^H559 Behold, ^H2009 even now ^H6258 ^H2088 there be come ^H935 to ^H413 me from mount ^H4480 ^H2022 Ephraim ^H669 two ^H8147 young men ^H5288 of the sons ^H4480 ^H1121 of the prophets: ^H5030 give ^H5414 them , I pray thee, ^H4994 a talent ^H3603 of silver, ^H3701 and two ^H8147 changes ^H2487 of garments. ^H899

26 And he said ^H559 unto ^H413 him, Went ^H1980 not ^H3808 mine heart ^H3820 with thee , when ^H834 the man ^H376 turned again ^H2015 from ^H4480 ^H5921 his chariot ^H4818 to meet ^H7122 thee? Is it a time ^H6256 to receive ^H3947 ^H853 money, ^H3701 and to receive ^H3947 garments, ^H899 and oliveyards, ^H2132 and vineyards, ^H3754 and sheep, ^H6629 and oxen, ^H1241 and menservants, ^H5650 and maidservants ^H8198 ?

27 The leprosy ^H6883 therefore of Naaman ^H5283 shall cleave ^H1692 unto thee , and unto thy seed ^H2233 forever. ^H5769 And he went out ^H3318 from his presence ^H4480 ^H6440 a leper ^H6879 as white as snow. ^H7950
