1 یوسیاہ آٹھ برس کا تھا ب وہ سلطنت کرنے لگا اور اُس نے اکتیس برس یروشلیم میں سلطنت کی۔

2 اُس نے وہ کام کیا جو خُداوندکی نظر میں ٹھیک تھا اور اپنے باپ داؤد کی راہوں پر چلا اور داہنے یا بائیں ہاتھ کو نہ مُڑا۔

3 کیونکہ اپنی سلطنت کے آٹھویں برس وہ لڑکا ہی تھا اور باپ داؤد کے خُدا کا طالب ہوا اور بارھویں برس میں یہوداہ اور یروشلیم کو اُونچے مقاموں اور یسیرتوں اور کھودے ہوئے بُتوں اور ڈھالی ہوئی مُورتوں سے پاک کرنے لگا۔

4 اور لوگوں نے اُسے سامنے بعلیم کے مذبحوں کو ڈھا دیا ورج کی مُورتوں کو جو اُن کے اُونچے پر تھیں اُس نے لاٹ ڈالا اور یسیرتوں اور کھودی ہوئی مُورتوں اور ڈھالی ہوء مُورتوں کو اُس نے ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر کے اُن کو دُھول بنادیا او ر اُس کو اُن کی قبروں پر بتھرایا یا جنہوں نے اُن کے لیئے قربانیاں چڑھائی تھیں۔

5 اور اُس نے اُن نوں کی ڈیاں اُن ہی کے مذبحوں پر جلائیں اور یہوداہ اور یروشلیم کو پاک کیا ۔

6 ور منسی اور افرائیم اور شمعون کے شہروں میں بلکہ نفتالی تک اُن کے گرد کھنڈروں میں اُس نے ایسا ہی کیا ۔

7 اور مذبحوں کو ڈھا دیا اور یسیرتوں اور کھُدی ہوئی مُورتوں کو توڑ کر دُھول کر دیا اور اسرائیل کیے تمام مُلک میں سورج کی سب مُورتوں کو کاٹ ڈالا تب یروشلیم کو لوٹا۔

8 اور اپنی سلطنت کے آٹھارھویں برس جب وہ مُلک اور ہیکل کو پاک کر چُکا تو اُس نے اصلیاہ کے بیٹے سافن کو اور شہر کے حاکم معسیاہ یوآخز کے بیٹے یوآخ مُورخ کو بھیجا کہ خُداوند اپنے خُدا کے گھر کی مرمت کرے۔

9 وہ خلقیاہ سردار کاہن کے پاس آیا اور وہ نقدی جو خُدا کے گھر میں لائی گئی تھی جیسے دربان اور لاویوں نے منسی اور افرائیم اور اسرائیل کے سب باقی لوگوں سے اور بنیمین اور یروشلیم کے باشندوں سے لے کر جمع کیاتھا اُس کے سُپرد کی ۔

10 اور اُنہوں نے اُسے اُن کارندوں کے ہاتھ میں سونپا جو خُداوندکے گھر کی نگرانی کرتے تھے اور اُن کارندوں نے جو خُداوند کے گھر میں کام کرتے تھے اُسے اُس گھر کی مرمت اور درست کرنے میں لگایا۔

11 یعنی اُسے بڑھئیوں اور مماروں کو دیا کہ گھڑے ہوئے پتھر اور جوڑوں کے لیئے لکڑی خریدیں اور اُن گھروں کے لیے جن کو یہوداہ کے بادشاہوں نے اُجاڑ دیا تھا شہتر بنائے ۔

12 اور وہ مرد دیانت سے کام کرتے تھے اور یحت اور عبدیاہ لاوی جو بنی عُمری میں سے تھے اُن کی نگرانی کرتے تھے اور بنی قہات ں سے زکریاہ اور مُسلام کراتے تھے اور لاویوں میں سے وہ لوگ تھے جو باجوں ماہر تھے ۔

13 اور وہ بار برداروں کے بھی دروغہ تھے اور سب قسم قسم کے کام کنے والوں سے کام کراتے تھے اور مُنشی اور مُہتمم اور دربان لاویوں میں سے تھے۔

14 اور جب وہ اُس نقدی کو جو خُداوندکے گھر میں لائی گئی تھے نکال رہے تھے تو خلقیاہ کاہن کو خُداوند کی توریت کی کتاب جو موسیٰ کی معرفت دی گئی تھی ملی۔

15 تب خلقیاہ نے سافن مُنشی سے کہا کہ میں نے خُداوند کے گھر میں توریت کی کتاب پائی ہے اور خلقیاہ نے وہ کتاب سافن کو دی ۔

16 اور سافن وہ کتاب بادشاہ کے پاس لے گیا اور پھر اُس نے بادشاہ کو یہ بتایا کہ سب کُچھ جو تُو نے اپنے نوکروں کے سپُر د کیا تھا اُسے وہ کر رہے ہیں۔

17 اور وہ نقدی جو خُداوند کے گھر میں موجود تھی اُنہوں نے لے کر ظروں اور کارندوں کے ہاتھ میں سونپی ہے ۔

18 پھر سافن مُنشی نے بادشاہ سے کہا کہ خلقیاہ کاہن نے مُجھے یہ کتاب دی ہے اور سافن نے اُس میں سے بادشاہ کے حضور پڑھا۔

19 اور ایسا ہوا کہ جب بادشاہ نے توریت کی باتیں سُنی تو اپنے کپڑے پھاڑے۔

20 ر بادشاہ نے خلقیاہ اور اخی قام سافن اور عبدون بن میکاہ او سافن مُنشی اور بادشاہ اور بادشاہ کے نوکر عسایاہ کو یہ حُکم دیا۔

21 کہ جاوؤ اور میری طرف سے اور اُن لوگوں کی طرف سے جو اسرائیل اور یہوداہ میں باقی رہ گئے ہیں اس کتاب کی باتوں کے حق میں جو مل ہے داوند سے پوچھو کیونکہ خُداوند قہر جو ہم پر نازل ہوا بڑا ہے ا س لیئے کہ ہمارے باپ دادا نے خُداون دکے کلام کو نہیں مانا ہے کہ سب کُچھ جو اس کتاب میں لکھا ہے اُس کے مُطابق کرتے ۔

22 تب خلقیاہ اور جن کو بادشاہ نے حُکم کیا تھا خلدہ نبیہ کے پاس جو توشہ خانہ ے داروغہ سلوم بن توقہت بن خسرہ کی بیوی تھی گئے۔وہ یروشلیم میں مشنہ نامی محلہ میں رہتی تھی۔سو اُنہوں نے اُس سے وہ باتیں کہیں۔

23 سو اُس نے اُن سے کہا کہ خُداوند اسرائیل کا خُدا یوں فرماتا ہے کہ تُم اس شخص سے جس نے تُم کو میرے پاس بھیجا ہے کہو کہ۔

24 خُداوند یوں فرماتا ہے دیکھ میں اس جگہ پر اور اس کے باشندوں پر آفت لاؤں گایعنی سب لعنتیں جو اُس کتاب میں لکھی ہیں جو اُنہوں نے شاہِ یہوداہ کے آگے پڑھی ہے۔

25 کیونکہ اُنہوں نے مُجھے ترک کیا اور غیرمعبودوں کے آگے بخور جلایا اور ہاتھوں کے سب کاموں سے مُجھے غصہ دلایا سو میرا قہر اُس مقام پر نازل ہوا ہے اور دھیما نہ ہوگا۔

26 رہا شاہِ یہوداہ جس نے تُم کوخُداوند سے دریافت کرنے کو بھیجا ہے سو تُم اُس سے یوں کہنا کہ خُداوند اسرائیل کا خُدا یوں فرماتا ہے کہ اُن باتوں کے بارے میں جو تُم نے سُنی ہیں ۔

27 چونکہ تیرا دل موم ہوگا اور تُو نے خُداوند کے حضور عاجزی کی جب تُونے اُس کی وہ باتیں سُنیں اور اُس نے اس مقام اور اس کے باشندوں کے خلاف کہی ہیں اور اپنے کو میرے حضور خاکسار بنایا اور اپنے کپڑے پھاڑ کر میرے آگے رویا اس لیئے میں نے بھی تیری سُن لی ہے۔

28 دیکھ میں تُجھے تیرے باپ دادا کے ساتھ ملاؤں گا اور تُو اپنی گور میں سلامتی سے پُہنچایا جائے گا اور ساری آفت کو جو میں اس مقام اور اس باشندوں پر لاؤں گا تیری آنکھیں نہیں دیکھیں گی سو اُنہوں نے یہ جواب بادشاہ کو پُہنچا دیا۔

29 تب بادشاہ نے یہوداہ اور یروشلیم کے سب بزرگوں کو بُلوا کر اکٹھا کیا ۔

30 اور بادشاہ اور سب اہلِ یہوداہ اور یروشلیم کے باشندے کاہن اور لاوی اور سب لوگ کیا چھوٹے کیا بڑے خُداوند کے گھر کو گئیور اُس نے جو عہد کی کتاب خُداوند کے گھر میں ملی تھی اُس کی سب باتیں اُن کو پڑھ سُنائیں ۔

31 اور بادشاہ اپنی جگہ کھڑا ہوا اور خُداوند کے آگے عہد کیا کہ وہ خُداوندکی پیروی کر گا اور اُس کے حُکموں اور اُس کے شہادتوں اور آئین کو اپنے سار ے دل اور اپنی ساری جان سے مانے گا تا کہ اُس عہد کی اُن باتوں کو جو اُس کتاب میں لکھی تھی پُورا کرے۔

32 س نے اُن سب کو جو یروشلیم اور بنیمین میں موجود تھے اُس عہد میں شریک کیا اور یروشلیم کے باشندوں نے خُدااپنے دادا کے خُدا کے عہد کے مُطابق عمل کیا۔

33 ور یوسیاہ نے بنی اسرائیل کے سب علاقوں میں سے سب مکرُوہات کو دفع کیا اور جتنے اسرائیل میں ملے اُن سبھوں سے عبادت یعنی خُداوند اُن کے خُدا کی عبادت کرائی اور وہ اُس کے جیتے جی خُداوند اپنے باپ دادا کے خُدا کی پیروی سے نہ ہٹے۔

16 And Shaphan ^H8227 carried ^H935 ^H853 the book ^H5612 to ^H413 the king, ^H4428 and brought ^H7725 ^H853 the king ^H4428 word ^H1697 back again, ^H5750 saying, ^H559 All ^H3605 that ^H834 was committed ^H5414 to thy servants ^H3027 ^H5650 , they ^H1992 do ^H6213 it .

18 Then Shaphan ^H8227 the scribe ^H5608 told ^H5046 the king, ^H4428 saying, ^H559 Hilkiah ^H2518 the priest ^H3548 hath given ^H5414 me a book. ^H5612 And Shaphan ^H8227 read ^H7121 it before ^H6440 the king. ^H4428

19 And it came to pass, ^H1961 when the king ^H4428 had heard ^H8085 ^H853 the words ^H1697 of the law, ^H8451 that he rent ^H7167 ^H853 his clothes. ^H899

22 And Hilkiah, ^H2518 and they that ^H834 the king ^H4428 had appointed , went ^H1980 to ^H413 Huldah ^H2468 the prophetess, ^H5031 the wife ^H802 of Shallum ^H7967 the son ^H1121 of Tikvath, ^H8616 the son ^H1121 of Hasrah, ^H2641 keeper ^H8104 of the wardrobe; ^H899 (now she ^H1931 dwelt ^H3427 in Jerusalem ^H3389 in the college: ^H4932 ) and they spoke ^H1696 to ^H413 her to that ^H2063 effect .

23 And she answered ^H559 them, Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 the LORD ^H3068 God ^H430 of Israel, ^H3478 Tell ^H559 ye the man ^H376 that ^H834 sent ^H7971 you to ^H413 me,

24 Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 the LORD, ^H3068 Behold, ^H2009 I will bring ^H935 evil ^H7451 upon ^H5921 this ^H2088 place, ^H4725 and upon ^H5921 the inhabitants ^H3427 thereof, even ^H853 all ^H3605 the curses ^H423 that are written ^H3789 in ^H5921 the book ^H5612 which ^H834 they have read ^H7121 before ^H6440 the king ^H4428 of Judah: ^H3063

25 Because ^H8478 ^H834 they have forsaken ^H5800 me , and have burned incense ^H6999 unto other ^H312 gods, ^H430 that ^H4616 they might provoke me to anger ^H3707 with all ^H3605 the works ^H4639 of their hands; ^H3027 therefore my wrath ^H2534 shall be poured out ^H5413 upon this ^H2088 place, ^H4725 and shall not ^H3808 be quenched. ^H3518

26 And as for ^H413 the king ^H4428 of Judah, ^H3063 who sent ^H7971 you to inquire ^H1875 of the LORD, ^H3068 so ^H3541 shall ye say ^H559 unto ^H413 him, Thus ^H3541 saith ^H559 the LORD ^H3068 God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478 concerning the words ^H1697 which ^H834 thou hast heard; ^H8085

27 Because ^H3282 thine heart ^H3824 was tender, ^H7401 and thou didst humble thyself ^H3665 before ^H4480 ^H6440 God, ^H430 when thou heardest ^H8085 ^H853 his words ^H1697 against ^H5921 this ^H2088 place, ^H4725 and against ^H5921 the inhabitants ^H3427 thereof , and humbledst thyself ^H3665 before ^H6440 me , and didst rend ^H7167 ^H853 thy clothes, ^H899 and weep ^H1058 before ^H6440 me; I ^H589 have even heard ^H8085 thee also, ^H1571 saith ^H5002 the LORD. ^H3068

28 Behold ^H2009 , I will gather ^H622 thee to ^H413 thy fathers, ^H1 and thou shalt be gathered ^H622 to ^H413 thy grave ^H6913 in peace, ^H7965 neither ^H3808 shall thine eyes ^H5869 see ^H7200 all ^H3605 the evil ^H7451 that ^H834 I ^H589 will bring ^H935 upon ^H5921 this ^H2088 place, ^H4725 and upon ^H5921 the inhabitants ^H3427 of the same . So they brought ^H7725 ^H853 the king ^H4428 word ^H1697 again.

29 Then the king ^H4428 sent ^H7971 and gathered together ^H622 ^H853 all ^H3605 the elders ^H2205 of Judah ^H3063 and Jerusalem. ^H3389

30 And the king ^H4428 went up ^H5927 into the house ^H1004 of the LORD, ^H3068 and all ^H3605 the men ^H376 of Judah, ^H3063 and the inhabitants ^H3427 of Jerusalem, ^H3389 and the priests, ^H3548 and the Levites, ^H3881 and all ^H3605 the people, ^H5971 great ^H4480 ^H1419 and small: ^H6996 and he read ^H7121 in their ears ^H241 ^H853 all ^H3605 the words ^H1697 of the book ^H5612 of the covenant ^H1285 that was found ^H4672 in the house ^H1004 of the LORD. ^H3068

31 And the king ^H4428 stood ^H5975 in ^H5921 his place, ^H5977 and made ^H3772 ^H853 a covenant ^H1285 before ^H6440 the LORD, ^H3068 to walk ^H1980 after ^H310 the LORD, ^H3068 and to keep ^H8104 ^H853 his commandments, ^H4687 and his testimonies, ^H5715 and his statutes, ^H2706 with all ^H3605 his heart, ^H3824 and with all ^H3605 his soul, ^H5315 to perform ^H6213 ^H853 the words ^H1697 of the covenant ^H1285 which are written ^H3789 in ^H5921 this ^H2088 book. ^H5612

32 And he caused ^H853 all ^H3605 that were present ^H4672 in Jerusalem ^H3389 and Benjamin ^H1144 to stand ^H5975 to it . And the inhabitants ^H3427 of Jerusalem ^H3389 did ^H6213 according to the covenant ^H1285 of God, ^H430 the God ^H430 of their fathers. ^H1

33 And Josiah ^H2977 took away ^H5493 ^H853 all ^H3605 the abominations ^H8441 out of ^H4480 all ^H3605 the countries ^H776 that ^H834 pertained to the children ^H1121 of Israel, ^H3478 and made ^H853 all ^H3605 that were present ^H4672 in Israel ^H3478 to serve, ^H5647 even to serve ^H5647 ^H853 the LORD ^H3068 their God. ^H430 And all ^H3605 his days ^H3117 they departed ^H5493 not ^H3808 from following ^H4480 ^H310 the LORD, ^H3068 the God ^H430 of their fathers. ^H1
