1 میری رُوح میری زندگی سے بیزار ہے۔میں اپنا شکوہ خوب دِل کھولکر کُرونگا ۔ میں اپنے دل کی تلخی میں بولُونگا ۔
2 میں خدا سے کہونگا مجھے مُلز منہ ٹھہرا ۔مجھے بتا کہ تو مجھ سے کیوں جھگڑتا ہے ۔
3 کیا تجھے اچھا لگتا ہے کہ اندھیر کرے اور اپنے ہاتھوں کی بنائی ہُوئی چیز کو حقیر جانے اور شریروں کی مشور ت کو روشن کرے ؟
4 کیا تیری آنکھیں گوشت کی ہیں یا تو اَیسے دیکھتا ہے جیسے آدمی دیکھتا ہے؟
5 کیا تیرے دِن آدمی کے دِن کی طرح اور تیرے سال اِنسان کے ایّام کی مانند ہیں
6 کہ تو میری بدکاری کو پُوچھتا اور میرا گناہ ڈھونڈتا ہے
7 گو تجھے معلوم ہے کہ میں شریر نہیں ہوں اور کوئی نہیں جو تیرے ہاتھ سے چھُڑاسکے ؟
8 تیرے ہی ہاتھوں نے مجھے بنایا اور سراسر جوڑ کر کامل کیا۔پھر بھی تو مجھے ہلاک کرتا ہے ۔
9 یاد کر کہ تو نے گُندھی ہُوئی مٹّی کی طرح مجھے بنایا اور کیا تو مجھے پھر خاک میں ملائیگا ؟
10 کیا تو نے مجھے دُودھ کی طرح نہیں اُنڈیلا اور پنیر کی طرح نہیں جمایا ؟
11 پھر تو نے مجھ پر چمڑا اور گوشت چڑھایا اور ہڈیوں اور نسوں سے مجھے جوڑ دیا۔
12 تو نے مجھے جان بخشی اور مجھ پر کرم کیا اور تیری نگہبانی نے میری رُوح سلامت رکھی
13 تو بھی تو نے یہ باتیں اپنے دِل میں چھپا رکھی تھیں ۔میں جانتا ہوں کہ تیر ا یہی اِرادہ ہے کہ
14 اگر میں گناہ کُروں تو تُو مجھ پر نگران ہوگا۔اور تو مجھے میری بدکاری سے بری نہیں کریگا ۔
15 اگر میں بدی کُروں تو مجھ پر افسوس !اگر میں صادق بنوں تو بھی اپنا سر نہیں اُٹھانے کا کیونکہ میں رُسوائی سے بھرا ہُوں اور اپنی مصیبت کو دیکھتا رہتا ہوں
16 اور اگر سر اُٹھاؤں تو تُو شیر کی طرح مجھے شکار کرتا ہے اور پھر عجیب صورت میں مجھ پر ظاہر ہوتا ہے ۔
17 تو میرے خلاف نئے نئے گواہ لاتا ہے اور اپنا قہر مجھ پر بڑھاتا ہے ۔نئی نئی فوجیں مجھ پر چڑھاآتی ہیں ۔
18 پس تو نے مجھے رَحِم سے نکالا ہی کیوں ؟میں جان دے دیتا اور کوئی آنکھ مجھے دیکھنے نہ پاتی ۔
19 میں اَیسا ہو تا کہ گویا تھا ہی نہیں ۔میں رَحم ہی سے قبر میں پہنچادیا جاتا ۔
20 کیا میرے دِن تھوڑے سے نہیں ؟ باز آ اور مجھے چھوڑدے تاکہ میں کچھ راحت پاؤں ۔
21 اِس سے پہلے کہ میں وہاں جاؤں جہاں سے پھر نہ لَوٹو نگا یعنی تاریکی اور موت اور سایہ کی سر زمین کو
22 گہری تاریکی کی سر زمین جو خود تاریکی ہی ہے ۔موت کے سایہ کی سر زمین جو بے ترتیب ہے اور جہاں روشنی بھی اَیسی ہے جیسی تاریکی ۔

2 I will say H559 unto H413 God, H433 Do not H408 condemn H7561 me; show H3045 me wherefore H5921 H4100 thou contendest H7378 with me.
3 Is it good H2896 unto thee that H3588 thou shouldest oppress, H6231 that H3588 thou shouldest despise H3988 the work H3018 of thine hands, H3709 and shine H3313 upon H5921 the counsel H6098 of the wicked H7563 ?
4 Hast thou eyes H5869 of flesh H1320 ? or H518 seest H7200 thou as man H582 seeth H7200 ?
5 Are thy days H3117 as the days H3117 of man H582 ? are thy years H8141 as man's H1397 days, H3117
6 That H3588 thou inquirest H1245 after mine iniquity, H5771 and searchest H1875 after my sin H2403 ?
7 Thou knowest H1847 that H3588 I am not H3808 wicked; H7561 and there is none H369 that can deliver H5337 out of thine hand H4480 H3027 .
8 Thine hands H3027 have made H6087 me and fashioned H6213 me together H3162 round about; H5439 yet thou dost destroy H1104 me.
9 Remember H2142 , I beseech thee, H4994 that H3588 thou hast made H6213 me as the clay; H2563 and wilt thou bring me into dust again H7725 H413 H6083 ?
10 Hast thou not H3808 poured me out H5413 as milk, H2461 and curdled H7087 me like cheese H1385 ?
11 Thou hast clothed H3847 me with skin H5785 and flesh, H1320 and hast fenced H7753 me with bones H6106 and sinews. H1517
12 Thou hast granted H6213 H5978 me life H2416 and favor, H2617 and thy visitation H6486 hath preserved H8104 my spirit. H7307
13 And these H428 things hast thou hid H6845 in thine heart: H3824 I know H3045 that H3588 this H2063 is with H5973 thee.
14 If H518 I sin, H2398 then thou markest H8104 me , and thou wilt not H3808 acquit H5352 me from mine iniquity H4480 H5771 .
15 If H518 I be wicked, H7561 woe H480 unto me ; and if I be righteous, H6663 yet will I not H3808 lift up H5375 my head. H7218 I am full H7649 of confusion; H7036 therefore see H7200 thou mine affliction; H6040
