1 In the twenty-fifth year after we were taken away into captivity, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month, the Lord's power came on me. This was fourteen years after the Babylonians took Jerusalem. On that day, the Lord took me there in a vision.

2 In a vision, God carried me to the land of Israel. He put me down near a very high mountain. On the mountain in front of me was a building that looked like a city.

3 The Lord took me to that place. There was a man there who looked like polished bronze. He had a cloth tape measure and a measuring rod in his hand. He was standing by the gate.

4 The man said to me, "Son of man, use your eyes and ears. Look at these things and listen to me. Pay attention to everything that I show you, because you have been brought here so that I can show you these things. You must tell the family of Israel all that you see."

5 I saw a wall that went all the way around the outside of the Temple. In the man's hand there was a ruler for measuring things. It was 6 cubits long using the long measurement, so the man measured the thickness of the wall. It was one ruler thick. He measured the height of the wall. It was one ruler tall.

6 Then the man went to the east gate. He walked up its steps and measured the opening for the gate. It was one ruler wide.

7 The guardrooms were one ruler long and one ruler wide. The walls between the rooms were 5 cubits thick. The opening by the porch at the end of the gateway that faced the Temple was also one ruler wide.

8 Then he measured the porch.

9 It was 8 cubits long. He measured the walls on either side of the gate. Each side wall was 2 cubits wide. The porch was at the end of the gateway that faced the Temple.

10 There were three little guardrooms on each side of the gateway. All of these rooms and their side walls measured the same.

11 The man measured the entrance to the gateway. It was 10 cubits wide and 13 cubits long.

12 There was a low wall in front of each room. That wall was 1 cubit tall and 1 cubit thick. The rooms were square. Each wall was 6 cubits long.

13 The man measured the gateway from the outside edge of the roof of one room to the outside edge of the roof of the opposite room. It was 25 cubits. Each door was directly opposite the other door.

14 He measured the faces of all the side walls, including the side walls on either side of the porch at the courtyard. The total was 60 cubits.

15 From the inside edge of the outer gate to the far end of the porch was 50 cubits.

16 There were small windows above all the guardrooms, the side walls, and the porch. The wide part of the windows faced into the gateway. There were carvings of palm trees on the walls that were on either side of the gateway.

17 Then the man led me into the outer courtyard. I saw thirty rooms and a pavement that went all the way around the courtyard. The rooms were along the wall and faced in toward the pavement.

18 The pavement was as wide as the gates were long. The pavement reached to the inside end of the gateway. This was the lower pavement.

19 The man measured the distance from the inside of the lower gateway to the outside of the {inner} courtyard. It was 100 cubits on the east side as well as on the north side.

20 Then the man measured the length and width of the north gate that was in the wall surrounding the outer courtyard.

21 This gateway, its three rooms on each side, and its porch all measured the same as the first gate. The gateway was 50 cubits long and 25 cubits wide.

22 Its windows, its porch, and its carvings of palm trees measured the same as the east gate. {On the outside,} there were seven steps leading up to the gate. Its porch was at the inside end of the gateway.

23 Across the courtyard from the north gate, there was a gate to the inner courtyard. It was like the gate on the east. The man measured from the gate {on the inner wall} to the gate {on the outer wall}. It was 100 cubits from gate to gate.

24 Then the man led me to the south wall. I saw a gate in the south wall. He measured its side walls and its porch. They measured the same as the other gates.

25 The gateway and its porch had windows all around like the other gates. The gateway was 50 cubits long and 25 cubits wide.

26 There were seven steps going up to this gate. Its porch was at the inside end of the gateway. It had carvings of palm trees on the walls that were on either side of the gateway.

27 A gate was on the south side of the inner courtyard. The man measured from the gate {on the inner wall} to the gate {on the outer wall}. It was 100 cubits from gate to gate.

28 Then the man led me through the south gate into the inner courtyard. He measured this gate. This gateway measured the same as the other gates to the inner courtyard.

29 Its rooms, side walls, and porch also measured the same as the other gates. There were windows all around the gateway and its porch. The gateway was 50 cubits long and 25 cubits wide.

30 The porch was 25 cubits wide and 5 cubits long.

31 And its porch was at the end of the gateway next to the outer courtyard. Carvings of palm trees were on the walls {on either side of the gateway}. There were eight steps leading up to the gate.

32 Then the man led me into the inner courtyard on the east side. He measured the gate. It measured the same as the other gates.

33 Its rooms, side walls, and porch also measured the same as the other gates. There were windows all around the gateway and its porch. The gateway was 50 cubits long and 25 cubits wide.

34 And its porch was at the end of the gateway next to the outer courtyard. Carvings of palm trees were on the walls on either side of the gateway. There were eight steps leading up to the gate.

35 Then the man led me to the north gate. He measured it, and it measured the same as the other gates.

36 Its rooms, side walls, and porch also measured the same as the other gates. There were windows all around the gateway and its porch. The gateway was 50 cubits long and 25 cubits wide.

37 And its porch was at the end of the gateway next to the outer courtyard. Carvings of palm trees were on the walls on either side of the gateway. There were eight steps leading up to the gate.

38 There was also a doorway in the side walls of the gates. That doorway led into a room where the priests washed the sacrifices.

39 There were two tables on each side of the door of this porch. The animals for the burnt offerings, the sin offerings, and the guilt offerings were killed on these tables.

40 There were also two tables on each side of the door on the outside wall of this porch.

41 So there were four tables on the inside wall and four tables on the outside wall—eight tables that the priests used when they killed the animals for sacrifices.

42 There were also four tables made from cut stone for the burnt offerings. These tables were 1?cubits long, 1?cubits wide, and 1 cubit high. On these tables, the priests put their tools that they used to kill the animals for the burnt offerings and other sacrifices.

43 There were meat hooks three inches long on all the walls in this area. The meat of the offerings was put on the tables.

44 There were two rooms in the inner courtyard. One was by the north gate facing south. The other room was by the south gate facing north.

45 The man said to me, "The room that looks to the south is for the priests who are on duty and serving in the Temple area.

46 But the room that looks to the north is for the priests who are on duty and serving at the altar. The priests are from the tribe of Levi. But the priests in this second group are the descendants of Zadok. They are the only people who can carry the sacrifices to the altar to serve the Lord. "

47 The man measured the {inner} courtyard. The courtyard was a perfect square. It was 100 cubits long and 100 cubits wide. The altar was in front of the Temple.

48 Then the man led me to the porch of the Temple and measured the walls on either side of the porch. Each side wall was 5 cubits thick and 3 cubits wide. The opening between them was 14 cubits.

49 The porch was 20 cubits wide and 12 cubits long. Ten steps went up to the porch. There were two columns for the walls on either side of the porch—one at each wall.

3 And he brought ^H935 me thither ^H8033 ^ADV-3FS , and , behold ^H2009 ^IJEC , there was a man ^H376 ^NMS , whose appearance ^H4758 ^CMS-3MS was like the appearance ^H4758 of brass ^H5178 ^CFS , with a line ^H6616 of flax ^H6593 in his hand ^H3027 ^B-CFS-3MS , and a measuring ^H4060 reed ^H7070 ; and he ^H1931 ^W-PPRO-3MS stood ^H5975 in the gate ^H8179 .

5 And behold ^H2009 ^IJEC a wall ^H2346 on the outside ^H2351 of the house ^H1004 round about ^H5439 ^ADV , and in the man ^H376 ^D-NMS \'s hand ^H3027 a measuring ^H4060 reed ^H7070 of six ^H8337 ^RFS cubits ^H520 long by the cubit ^H520 and a handbreadth ^H2948 : so he measured ^H4058 the breadth ^H7341 of the building ^H1146 , one ^H259 ^MMS reed ^H7070 ^NMS ; and the height ^H6967 , one ^H259 ^ONUM reed ^H7070 ^NMS .

6 Then came ^H935 ^W-VQY3MS he unto ^H413 ^PREP the gate ^H8179 ^NMS which ^H834 ^RPRO looketh ^H6440 ^CMP-3MS toward ^H1870 ^NMS the east ^H6921 , and went up ^H5927 ^W-VHY3MS the stairs ^H4609 thereof , and measured ^H4058 the threshold ^H5592 of the gate ^H8179 , which was one ^H259 ^MMS reed ^H7070 ^NMS broad ^H7341 ; and the other ^H259 ^MMS threshold ^H5592 of the gate , which was one ^H259 ^MMS reed ^H7070 ^NMS broad ^H7341 .

7 And every little chamber ^H8372 was one ^H259 ^MMS reed ^H7070 ^NMS long ^H753 ^CMS , and one ^H259 ^MMS reed ^H7070 broad ^H7341 ; and between ^H996 ^W-PREP the little chambers ^H8372 were five ^H2568 ^MFS cubits ^H520 ; and the threshold ^H5592 of the gate ^H8179 by the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 within ^H1004 was one ^H259 ^ONUM reed ^H7070 ^NMS .

8 He measured ^H4058 also the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 within ^H1004 , one ^H259 ^ONUM reed ^H7070 ^NMS .

9 Then measured ^H4058 he the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 , eight ^H8083 ^MFS cubits ^H520 ; and the posts ^H352 thereof , two ^H8147 ^MFD cubits ^H520 ; and the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 was inward ^H1004 .

10 And the little chambers ^H8372 of the gate ^H8179 eastward ^H1870 ^NMS were three ^H7969 ^NFS on this side ^H6311 , and three ^H7969 ^NFS on that side ^H6311 ; they three ^H7969 ^NFS were of one ^H259 ^OFS measure ^H4060 : and the posts ^H352 had one ^H259 ^OFS measure ^H4060 on this side ^H6311 and on that side ^H6311 .

11 And he measured ^H4058 the breadth ^H7341 of the entry ^H6607 of the gate ^H8179 , ten ^H6235 ^MFS cubits ^H520 ; and the length ^H753 ^CMS of the gate ^H8179 , thirteen ^H7969 cubits ^H520 .

12 The space ^H1366 also before ^H6440 ^L-CMP the little chambers ^H8372 was one ^H259 ^MFS cubit ^H520 ^UFS on this side , and the space ^H1366 ^CMS was one ^H259 ^OFS cubit ^H520 on that side ^H6311 : and the little chambers ^H8372 were six ^H8337 ^RFS cubits ^H520 on this side ^H6311 , and six ^H8337 ^W-RFS cubits ^H520 on that side ^H6311 .

13 He measured ^H4058 then the gate ^H8179 from the roof ^H1406 of one little chamber ^H8372 to the roof ^H1406 of another : the breadth ^H7341 was five ^H2568 and twenty ^H6242 cubits ^H520 , door ^H6607 ^CMS against ^H5048 door ^H6607 .

14 He made ^H6213 ^W-VQY3MS also posts ^H352 ^NMP of threescore ^H8346 cubits ^H520 ^UFS , even unto ^H413 ^W-PREP the post ^H352 of the court ^H2691 round about ^H5439 ^ADV the gate ^H8179 .

15 And from ^H5921 ^PREP the face ^H6440 ^CMP of the gate ^H8179 of the entrance ^H2978 unto ^H5921 ^PREP the face ^H6440 ^CMP of the porch ^H197 of the inner ^H6442 gate ^H8179 were fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 .

16 And there were narrow ^H331 windows ^H2474 to ^H413 ^PREP the little chambers ^H8372 , and to ^H413 ^W-PREP their posts ^H352 within ^H6441 the gate ^H8179 round about ^H5439 ^ADV , and likewise ^H3651 to the porches ^H361 : and windows ^H2474 were round about ^H5439 ^ADV inward ^H6441 : and upon ^H413 ^W-PREP each post ^H352 were palm trees ^H8561 .

17 Then brought ^H935 he me into ^H413 ^PREP the outward ^H2435 court ^H2691 , and , lo ^H2009 ^IJEC , there were chambers ^H3957 , and a pavement ^H7531 made ^H6213 for the court ^H2691 round about ^H5439 ^ADV : thirty ^H7970 ^MMP chambers ^H3957 were upon ^H413 ^PREP the pavement ^H7531 .

18 And the pavement ^H7531 by ^H413 ^PREP the side ^H3802 of the gates ^H8179 over against ^H5980 the length ^H753 ^CMS of the gates ^H8179 was the lower ^H8481 pavement ^H7531 .

19 Then he measured ^H4058 the breadth ^H7341 from the forefront ^H6440 ^L-CMP of the lower ^H8481 gate ^H8179 unto the forefront ^H6440 ^L-CMP of the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 without ^H2351 , a hundred ^H3967 ^MFS cubits ^H520 ^UFS eastward ^H6921 and northward ^H6828 .

20 And the gate ^H8179 of the outward ^H2435 court ^H2691 that ^H834 ^RPRO looked ^H6440 ^CMP-3MS toward ^H1870 ^NMS the north ^H6828 , he measured ^H4058 the length ^H753 thereof , and the breadth ^H7341 thereof .

21 And the little chambers ^H8372 thereof were three ^H7969 on this side ^H6311 and three ^H7969 on that side ^H6311 ; and the posts ^H352 thereof and the porches ^H361 thereof were ^H1961 ^VQQ3MS after the measure ^H4060 of the first ^H7223 gate ^H8179 : the length ^H753 thereof was fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 ^UFS , and the breadth ^H7341 ^W-CMS five ^H2568 ^MFS and twenty ^H6242 ^W-MMP cubits ^H520 .

22 And their windows ^H2474 , and their porches ^H361 , and their palm trees ^H8561 , were after the measure ^H4060 of the gate ^H8179 that ^H834 ^RPRO looketh ^H6440 ^CMP-3MS toward ^H1870 ^NMS the east ^H6921 ; and they went up ^H5927 unto it by seven ^H7651 ^MFS steps ^H4609 ; and the porches ^H361 thereof were before ^H6440 them .

23 And the gate ^H8179 of the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 was over against ^H5048 the gate ^H8179 toward the north ^H6828 , and toward the east ^H6921 ; and he measured ^H4058 from gate ^H8179 to ^H413 ^PREP gate ^H8179 ^NMS a hundred ^H3967 ^MFS cubits ^H520 .

24 After that he brought ^H1980 me toward ^H1870 ^NMS the south ^H1864 , and behold ^H2009 ^IJEC a gate ^H8179 ^NMS toward ^H1870 ^NMS the south ^H1864 : and he measured ^H4058 the posts ^H352 thereof and the porches ^H361 thereof according to these ^H428 measures ^H4060 .

25 And there were windows ^H2474 in it and in the porches ^H361 thereof round about ^H5439 ^ADV , like those ^H428 ^D-DPRO-3MP windows ^H2474 : the length ^H753 ^CMS was fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 ^UFS , and the breadth ^H7341 ^W-CMS five ^H2568 ^MFS and twenty ^H6242 ^W-MMP cubits ^H520 .

26 And there were seven ^H7651 ^NUM-MS steps ^H4609 to go up ^H5930 to it , and the porches ^H361 thereof were before ^H6440 ^L-CMP-3MP them : and it had palm trees ^H8561 , one ^H259 ^MMS on this side ^H6311 , and another ^H259 on that side ^H6311 , upon ^H413 ^PREP the posts ^H352 thereof .

27 And there was a gate ^H8179 in the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 toward ^H1870 ^NMS the south ^H1864 : and he measured ^H4058 from gate ^H8179 to ^H413 ^PREP gate ^H8179 toward ^H1870 ^NMS the south ^H1864 a hundred ^H3967 ^MFS cubits ^H520 .

28 And he brought ^H935 me to ^H413 ^PREP the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 by the south ^H1864 gate ^H8179 : and he measured ^H4058 the south ^H1864 gate ^H8179 according to these ^H428 measures ^H4060 ;

29 And the little chambers ^H8372 thereof , and the posts ^H352 thereof , and the porches ^H361 thereof , according to these ^H428 ^D-DPRO-3MP measures ^H4060 : and there were windows ^H2474 in it and in the porches ^H361 thereof round about ^H5439 ^ADV : it was fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 ^UFS long ^H753 ^CMS , and five ^H2568 and twenty ^H6242 cubits ^H520 broad ^H7341 ^W-CMS .

30 And the porches ^H361 round about ^H5439 ^ADV were five ^H2568 ^MFS and twenty ^H6242 ^W-MMP cubits ^H520 ^UFS long ^H753 ^CMS , and five ^H2568 ^MFS cubits ^H520 broad ^H7341 ^W-CMS .

31 And the porches ^H361 thereof were toward ^H413 ^PREP the utter ^H2435 court ^H2691 ; and palm trees ^H8561 were upon ^H413 ^PREP the posts ^H352 thereof : and the going up ^H4608 to it had eight ^H8083 steps ^H4609 .

32 And he brought ^H935 me into ^H413 ^PREP the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 toward ^H1870 ^NMS the east ^H6921 : and he measured ^H4058 the gate ^H8179 according to these ^H428 measures ^H4060 .

33 And the little chambers ^H8372 thereof , and the posts ^H352 thereof , and the porches ^H361 thereof , were according to these ^H428 ^D-DPRO-3MP measures ^H4060 : and there were windows ^H2474 therein and in the porches ^H361 thereof round about ^H5439 ^ADV : it was fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 ^UFS long ^H753 ^CMS , and five ^H2568 ^MFS and twenty ^H6242 ^W-MMP cubits ^H520 broad ^H7341 ^W-CMS .

34 And the porches ^H361 thereof were toward the outward ^H2435 court ^H2691 ; and palm trees ^H8561 were upon ^H413 ^PREP the posts ^H352 thereof , on this side ^H6311 , and on that side ^H6311 : and the going up ^H4608 to it had eight ^H8083 ^W-MFS steps ^H4609 .

35 And he brought ^H935 me to ^H413 ^PREP the north ^H6828 gate ^H8179 ^NMS , and measured ^H4058 it according to these ^H428 measures ^H4060 ;

36 The little chambers ^H8372 thereof , the posts ^H352 thereof , and the porches ^H361 thereof , and the windows ^H2474 to it round about ^H5439 ^ADV : the length ^H753 ^CMS was fifty ^H2572 ^MMP cubits ^H520 ^UFS , and the breadth ^H7341 ^W-CMS five ^H2568 ^MFS and twenty ^H6242 ^W-MMP cubits ^H520 .

37 And the posts ^H352 thereof were toward the utter ^H2435 court ^H2691 ; and palm trees ^H8561 were upon ^H413 ^PREP the posts ^H352 thereof , on this side ^H6311 , and on that side ^H6311 : and the going up ^H4608 to it had eight ^H8083 ^W-MFS steps ^H4609 .

38 And the chambers ^H3957 and the entries ^H6607 thereof were by the posts ^H352 of the gates ^H8179 , where ^H8033 ^ADV they washed ^H1740 the burnt offering ^H5930 .

39 And in the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 were two ^H8147 ^ONUM tables ^H7979 on this side ^H6311 , and two ^H8147 tables ^H7979 on that side ^H6311 , to slay ^H7819 thereon ^H413 ^PREP-3MP the burnt offering ^H5930 and the sin offering ^H2403 and the trespass offering ^H817 .

40 And at ^H413 ^W-PREP the side ^H3802 without ^H2351 , as one goeth up ^H5927 to the entry ^H6607 of the north ^H6828 gate ^H8179 , were two ^H8147 ^ONUM tables ^H7979 ; and on ^H413 ^W-PREP the other ^H312 side ^H3802 , which ^H834 ^RPRO was at the porch ^H197 of the gate ^H8179 , were two ^H8147 ^ONUM tables ^H7979 .

41 Four ^H702 ^MMS tables ^H7979 were on this side ^H6311 , and four ^H702 tables ^H7979 on that side ^H6311 , by the side ^H3802 of the gate ^H8179 ; eight ^H8083 tables ^H7979 , whereupon ^H413 ^PREP-3MP they slew ^H7819 their sacrifices .

42 And the four ^H702 tables ^H7979 were of hewn ^H1496 stone ^H68 ^CMP for the burnt offering ^H5930 , of a ^H259 ^OFS cubit ^H520 ^UFS and a ^H259 ^OFS half ^H2677 long ^H753 ^CMS , and a cubit ^H520 ^UFS and a half ^H2677 broad ^H7341 ^W-CMS , and one ^H259 ^MFS cubit ^H520 ^UFS high ^H1363 : whereupon ^H413 ^PREP-3MP also they laid ^H5117 the instruments ^H3627 ^D-NMP wherewith ^H834 ^RPRO they slew ^H7819 the burnt offering ^H5930 and the sacrifice ^H2077 .

43 And within ^H1004 were hooks ^H8240 , a ^H259 ^MMS hand broad ^H2948 , fastened ^H3559 round about ^H5439 ^ADV : and upon ^H413 ^W-PREP the tables ^H7979 was the flesh ^H1320 ^CMS of the offering ^H7133 .

44 And without ^H2351 the inner ^H6442 gate ^H8179 were the chambers ^H3957 of the singers ^H7891 in the inner ^H6442 court ^H2691 , which ^H834 ^RPRO was at ^H413 ^PREP the side ^H3802 of the north ^H6828 gate ^H8179 ^NMS ; and their prospect ^H6440 ^CMP was toward ^H1870 ^NMS the south ^H1864 : one ^H259 ^MMS at ^H413 ^PREP the side ^H3802 of the east ^H6921 gate ^H8179 ^NMS having the prospect ^H6440 ^CMP toward ^H1870 ^NMS the north ^H6828 .

45 And he said ^H1696 ^W-VPY3MS unto ^H413 me , This ^H2090 chamber ^H3957 , whose ^H834 ^RPRO prospect ^H6440 is toward ^H1870 ^NMS the south ^H1864 , is for the priests ^H3548 , the keepers ^H8104 of the charge ^H4931 of the house ^H1004 .

46 And the chamber ^H3957 whose ^H834 ^RPRO prospect ^H6440 is toward ^H1870 ^NMS the north ^H6828 is for the priests ^H3548 , the keepers ^H8104 of the charge ^H4931 of the altar ^H4196 ^D-NMS : these ^H1992 ^PPRO-3MP are the sons ^H1121 of Zadok ^H6659 among the sons ^H1121 of Levi ^H3878 , which come near ^H7131 to ^H413 ^PREP the LORD ^H3068 ^EDS to minister ^H8334 unto him .
