Ezekiel 6:1 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 Then the word of the Lord came to me again.
2 He said, "Son of man, turn toward the mountains of Israel. Speak against them for me.
3 Tell the mountains this: "'Mountains of Israel, listen to this message from the Lord God! The Lord God says these things to the hills and mountains and to the ravines and valleys. Look! I am bringing the enemy to fight against you. I will destroy your high places.
4 Your altars will be broken into pieces. Your incense altars will be smashed, and I will throw down your dead bodies in front of your filthy idols.
5 I will put the dead bodies of the people of Israel in front of their filthy idols. I will scatter your bones around your altars.
6 Bad things will happen wherever your people live. Their cities will become piles of rock. Their high places will be destroyed, so those places of worship will never be used again. The altars will all be destroyed. People will never worship those filthy idols again. The incense altars will be smashed. Everything you made will be destroyed completely.
7 Your people will be killed, and then you will know that I am the Lord!'"
8 God said, "But I will let a few of your people escape. They will live in other countries for a short time. I will scatter them and force them to live in other countries.
9 Then the survivors will be taken prisoners. They will be forced to live in other countries, but they will remember me. I broke their spirit. They will hate themselves for the evil things they did. In the past, they turned away from me and left me. They chased after their filthy idols. They were like a woman leaving her husband and running off with another man. They did many terrible things,
10 but they will learn that I am the Lord. Then they will know that if I say that I will do something, I will do it! They will know that I caused all of the troubles that happened to them."
11 Then the Lord God said to me, "Clap your hands and stamp your feet. Speak against all the terrible things that the people of Israel have done. Warn them that they will be killed by disease and hunger. Tell them they will be killed in war.
12 People far away will die from disease. People near this place will be killed with swords, and those who are left in the city will starve to death. Only then will I stop being angry.
13 Only then will you know that I am the Lord. You will know this when you see your dead bodies in front of your filthy idols and around their altars. Those bodies will be near every one of your places for worship, on every high hill and mountain, under every green tree and every oak tree with leaves. You offered your sacrifices everywhere. They were a sweet smell for your filthy idols.
14 But I will raise my arm over you and punish you and your people, wherever they live! I will destroy your country! It will be emptier than Diblah Desert. Then they will know that I am the Lord!"

2 Son H1121 of man H120 NMS , set H7760 VQFC thy face H6440 CMP-2MS toward H413 PREP the mountains H2022 CMP of Israel H3478 , and prophesy H5012 against H413 PREP them ,
3 And say H559 , Ye mountains H2022 CMP of Israel H3478 , hear H8085 VQI2MP the word H1697 CMS of the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 to the mountains H2022 , and to the hills H1389 , to the rivers H650 , and to the valleys H1516 ; Behold H2009 , I , even I H589 PPRO-1MS , will bring H935 VHPMS a sword H2719 GFS upon H5921 PREP-2MP you , and I will destroy H6 your high places H1116 .
4 And your altars H4196 shall be desolate H8074 , and your images H2553 shall be broken H7665 : and I will cast down H5307 your slain H2491 men before H6440 L-CMP your idols H1544 .
5 And I will lay H5414 the dead carcasses H6297 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 before H6440 L-CMP their idols H1544 ; and I will scatter H2219 your bones H6106 round about H5439 ADV your altars H4196 .
6 In all H3605 your dwelling places H4186 the cities H5892 shall be laid waste H2717 , and the high places H1116 shall be desolate H3456 ; that H4616 L-CONJ your altars H4196 may be laid waste H2717 and made desolate H816 , and your idols H1544 may be broken H7665 and cease H7673 , and your images H2553 may be cut down H1438 , and your works H4639 may be abolished H4229 .
7 And the slain H2491 shall fall H5307 in the midst H8432 of you , and ye shall know H3045 that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
8 Yet will I leave a remnant H3498 , that ye may have H1961 some that shall escape H6412 the sword H2719 GFS among the nations H1471 , when ye shall be scattered H2219 through the countries H776 .
9 And they that escape H6412 of you shall remember H2142 me among the nations H1471 whither H834 RPRO they shall be carried captives H7617 , because H834 RPRO I am broken H7665 with H854 W-PART their whorish H2181 heart H3820 CMS-3MP , which H834 RPRO hath departed H5493 from me , and with H854 W-PART their eyes H5869 , which go a whoring H2181 after H310 PREP their idols H1544 : and they shall loathe H6962 themselves H6440 for H413 PREP the evils H7451 which H834 RPRO they have committed H6213 VQQ3MP in all H3605 their abominations H8441 .
10 And they shall know H3045 that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 EDS , and that I have not H3808 NADV said H1696 VPQ1MS in vain H413 PREP that I would do H6213 L-VQFC this H2063 evil H7451 D-AFS unto them .
11 Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the Lord H136 EDS GOD H3069 ; Smite H5221 with thine hand H3709 , and stamp H7554 with thy foot H7272 , and say H559 , Alas H253 for H413 PREP all H3605 NMS the evil H7451 abominations H8441 of the house H1004 CMS of Israel H3478 ! for H834 RPRO they shall fall H5307 by the sword H2719 , by the famine H7458 , and by the pestilence H1698 .
12 He that is far off H7350 shall die H4191 VQY3MS of the pestilence H1698 ; and he that is near H7138 shall fall H5307 by the sword H2719 ; and he that remaineth H7604 and is besieged H5341 shall die H4191 VQY3MS by the famine H7458 : thus will I accomplish H3615 my fury H2534 upon them .
13 Then shall ye know H3045 that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 EDS , when their slain H2491 men shall be H1961 among H8432 B-NMS their idols H1544 round about H5439 ADV their altars H4196 , upon H413 PREP every H3605 NMS high H7311 VQPFS hill H1389 , in all H3605 NMS the tops H7218 CMP of the mountains H2022 , and under H8478 every H3605 NMS green H7488 tree H6086 NMS , and under H8478 every H3605 NMS thick H5687 oak H424 , the place H4725 CMS where H834 RPRO they did offer H5414 sweet H5207 savor H7381 CMS to all H3605 NMS their idols H1544 .
14 So will I stretch out H5186 my hand H3027 CFS-1MS upon H5921 PREP-3MP them , and make H5414 the land H776 D-GFS desolate H8077 , yea , more desolate H4923 than the wilderness H4057 toward Diblath H1689 , in all H3605 their habitations H4186 : and they shall know H3045 that H3588 CONJ I H589 PPRO-1MS am the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
