Genesis 16:5 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 Sarai was Abram's wife, but she did not have any children. She had an Egyptian slave named Hagar.
2 Sarai told Abram, "The Lord has not allowed me to have children, so sleep with my slave. Maybe she can have a son, and I will accept him as my own." Abram did what Sarai said.
3 So after living ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai gave her Egyptian slave to Abram as a second wife.
4 Abram slept with Hagar, and she became pregnant. When Hagar realized this, she became very proud and began to feel that she was better than Sarai her owner.
5 Then Sarai said to Abram, "My slave girl now hates me, and I blame you for this. I gave her to you, and she became pregnant. Then she began to feel that she is better than I am. I want the Lord to judge which of us is right."
6 But Abram said to Sarai, "She is your slave. You can do anything you want to her." So Sarai was cruel to Hagar, and Hagar ran away.
7 The Angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring of water in the desert. The spring was by the road to Shur.
8 The angel said, "Hagar, Sarai's slave girl, why are you here? Where are you going?" Hagar said, "I am running away from Sarai."
9 The Angel of the Lord said to her, "Sarai is your owner. Go home to her and obey her."
10 The Angel of the Lord also said, "From you will come many people. There will be so many people that they cannot be counted."
11 Then the Angel of the Lord said, "Hagar, you are now pregnant, and you will have a son. You will name him Ishmael, because the Lord has heard that you were treated badly.
12 Ishmael will be wild and free like a wild donkey. He will be against everyone, and everyone will be against him. He will move from place to place and camp near his brothers."
13 The Lord talked to Hagar. She began to use a new name for God. She said to him, "You are 'God Who Sees Me.'" She said this because she thought, "I see that even in this place God sees me and cares for me!"
14 So the well there was called Beer Lahai Roi. It is between Kadesh and Bered.
15 Hagar gave birth to Abram's son, and Abram named the son Ishmael.
16 Abram was 86 years old when Ishmael was born from Hagar.

And Abram H87 EMS hearkened H8085 to the voice H6963 L-CMS of Sarai H8297 .
3 And Sarai H8297 EFS Abram H87 EMS \'s wife H802 CFS took H3947 W-VQY3FS Hagar H1904 her maid H8198 the Egyptian H4713 , after H7093 M-CMS Abram H87 EMS had dwelt H3427 ten H6235 MFS years H8141 NFP in the land H776 B-GFS of Canaan H3667 EMS , and gave H5414 W-VQY3FS her to her husband H376 Abram H87 L-EMS to be his wife H802 .
4 And he went in H935 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Hagar H1904 , and she conceived H2029 W-VQY3FS : and when she saw H7200 W-VQQ3FS that H3588 CONJ she had conceived H2029 , her mistress H1404 was despised H7043 in her eyes H5869 .
5 And Sarai H8297 EFS said H559 W-VQY3FS unto H413 PREP Abram H87 EMS , My wrong H2555 be upon H5921 PREP-2MS thee : I H595 PPRO-1MS have given H5414 VQQ1MS my maid H8198 into thy bosom H2436 ; and when she saw H7200 W-VQQ3FS that H3588 CONJ she had conceived H2029 , I was despised H7043 in her eyes H5869 : the LORD H3068 EDS judge H8199 between H996 W-PREP-1MS me and thee .
6 But Abram H87 EMS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Sarai H8297 EFS , Behold H2009 IJEC , thy maid H8198 is in thy hand H3027 ; do H6213 to her as it pleaseth H2896 D-NMS thee . And when Sarai H8297 EFS dealt hardly H6031 with her , she fled H1272 from her face H6440 .
7 And the angel H4397 of the LORD H3068 EDS found H4672 her by H5921 PREP a fountain H5869 CMS of water H4325 D-CMS in the wilderness H4057 , by H5921 PREP the fountain H5869 in the way H1870 B-NMS to Shur H7793 .
8 And he said H559 W-VQY3MS , Hagar H1904 , Sarai H8297 EFS \'s maid H8198 , whence H335 camest H935 thou ? and whither H575 wilt thou go H1980 ? And she said H559 W-VQY3FS , I H595 PPRO-1MS flee H1272 from the face H6440 M-CMP of my mistress H1404 Sarai H8297 EFS .
9 And the angel H4397 of the LORD H3068 EDS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto her , Return H7725 to H413 PREP thy mistress H1404 , and submit thyself H6031 under H8478 NMS her hands H3027 .
10 And the angel H4397 of the LORD H3068 EDS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto her , I will multiply thy seed exceedingly H7235 VHFA , that it shall not H3808 W-NPAR be numbered H5608 for multitude H7230 .
11 And the angel H4397 of the LORD H3068 EDS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto her , Behold H2009 , thou art with child H2030 , and shalt bear H3205 a son H1121 NMS , and shalt call H7121 his name H8034 CMS-3MS Ishmael H3458 ; because H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS hath heard H8085 thy affliction H6040 .
12 And he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS will be H1961 VQY3MS a wild H6501 NMS man H120 NMS ; his hand H3027 CFS-3MS will be against every man H3605 NMS , and every man H3605 NMS \'s hand H3027 against him ; and he shall dwell H7931 in the presence H6440 CMP of all H3605 NMS his brethren H251 NMP-3MS .
13 And she called H7121 W-VQY2MS the name H8034 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS that spoke H1696 unto H413 PREP-3FS her , Thou H859 PPRO-2MS God H410 EDS seest H7210 me : for H3588 CONJ she said H559 , Have I also H1571 CONJ here H1988 looked H7200 VQQ1MS after H310 PREP him that seeth H7200 me ?
14 Wherefore H5921 PREP the well H875 was called H7121 VQQ3MS Beer H883 - lahai - roi ; behold H2009 IJEC , it is between H996 W-PREP Kadesh H6946 LFS and Bered H1260 .
15 And Hagar H1904 bore H3205 W-VQY3FS Abram H87 L-EMS a son H1121 NMS : and Abram H87 EMS called H7121 W-VQY3MS his son H1121 CMS-3MS \'s name H8034 , which H834 RPRO Hagar H1904 bore H3205 , Ishmael H3458 .
16 And Abram H87 W-EMS was fourscore H8084 and six H8337 W-RFS years H8141 NFS old H1121 , when Hagar H1904 bore H3205 Ishmael H3458 to Abram H87 .
