2 Chronicles 33:11 (ESV) English Standard Version

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.
2 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD drove out before the people of Israel.
3 For he rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had broken down, and he erected altars to the Baals, and made Asherahs, and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.
4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem shall my name be forever."
5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
6 And he burned his sons as an offering in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and used fortune-telling and omens and sorcery, and dealt with mediums and with wizards. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking him to anger.
7 And the carved image of the idol that he had made he set in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever,
8 and I will no more remove the foot of Israel from the land that I appointed for your fathers, if only they will be careful to do all that I have commanded them, all the law, the statutes, and the rules given through Moses."
9 Manasseh led Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem astray, to do more evil than the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the people of Israel.
10 The LORD spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they paid no attention.
11 Therefore the LORD brought upon them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria, who captured Manasseh with hooks and bound him with chains of bronze and brought him to Babylon.
12 And when he was in distress, he entreated the favor of the LORD his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.
13 He prayed to him, and God was moved by his entreaty and heard his plea and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.
14 Afterward he built an outer wall for the city of David west of Gihon, in the valley, and for the entrance into the Fish Gate, and carried it around Ophel, and raised it to a very great height. He also put commanders of the army in all the fortified cities in Judah.
15 And he took away the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built on the mountain of the house of the LORD and in Jerusalem, and he threw them outside of the city.
16 He also restored the altar of the LORD and offered on it sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving, and he commanded Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.
17 Nevertheless, the people still sacrificed at the high places, but only to the LORD their God.
18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, behold, they are in the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
19 And his prayer, and how God was moved by his entreaty, and all his sin and his faithlessness, and the sites on which he built high places and set up the Asherim and the images, before he humbled himself, behold, they are written in the Chronicles of the Seers.
20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his house, and Amon his son reigned in his place.
21 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22 And he did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, as Manasseh his father had done. Amon sacrificed to all the images that Manasseh his father had made, and served them.
23 And he did not humble himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself, but this Amon incurred guilt more and more.
24 And his servants conspired against him and put him to death in his house.
25 But the people of the land struck down all those who had conspired against King Amon. And the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

2 But did H6213 W-VQY3MS that which was evil H7451 in the sight H5869 B-CMP of the LORD H3068 EDS , like unto the abominations H8441 of the heathen H1471 D-NMP , whom H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS had cast out H3423 before H6440 M-CMP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 LMS .
3 For he built H1129 W-VQY3MS again H7725 the high places H1116 which H834 RPRO Hezekiah H3169 his father H1 CMS-3MS had broken down H5422 , and he reared up H6965 altars H4196 for Baalim H1168 , and made H6213 W-VQY3MS groves H842 , and worshiped H7812 all H3605 L-CMS the host H6635 of heaven H8064 D-NMD , and served H5647 them .
4 Also he built H1129 altars H4196 in the house H1004 B-CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS , whereof H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS had said H559 VQQ3MS , In Jerusalem H3389 shall my name H8034 be H1961 VQY3MS forever H5769 .
5 And he built H1129 W-VQY3MS altars H4196 for all H3605 L-CMS the host H6635 of heaven H8064 D-AMP in the two H8147 courts H2691 of the house H1004 CMS of the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
6 And he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS caused his children H1121 CMP-3MS to pass H5674 through the fire H784 in the valley H1516 of the son H1121 CMS of Hinnom H2011 : also he observed times H6049 , and used enchantments H5172 , and used witchcraft H3784 , and dealt with H6213 W-VQQ3MS a familiar spirit H178 , and with wizards H3049 : he wrought H6213 W-VQQ3MS much H7235 evil H7451 in the sight H5869 B-CMP of the LORD H3068 EDS , to provoke him to anger H3707 .
7 And he set H7760 W-VQY3MS a carved image H6459 , the idol H5566 which H834 RPRO he had made H6213 VQQ3MS , in the house H1004 B-CMS of God H430 NAME-4MP , of which H834 RPRO God H430 EDP had said H559 VQQ3MS to H413 PREP David H1732 and to H413 PREP Solomon H8010 MMS his son H1121 , In this H2088 D-PMS house H1004 , and in Jerusalem H3389 , which H834 RPRO I have chosen H977 before all H3605 M-CMS the tribes H7626 of Israel H3478 , will I put H7760 VQY1MS my name H8034 forever H5865 :
8 Neither H3808 W-NPAR will I any more H3254 VHY1MS remove H5493 L-VHFC the foot H7272 NFS of Israel H3478 from out of M-PREP the land H127 D-NFS which H834 RPRO I have appointed H5975 for your fathers H1 ; so that ADV they will take heed H8104 to do H6213 L-VQFC all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO I have commanded H6680 them , according to the whole H3605 NMS law H8451 and the statutes H2706 and the ordinances H4941 by the hand H3027 B-CFS of Moses H4872 .
9 So Manasseh H4519 made Judah H3063 and the inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem H3389 to err H8582 , and to do H6213 L-VQFC worse H7451 AMS than H4480 PREP the heathen H1471 D-NMP , whom H834 RPRO the LORD H3068 EDS had destroyed H8045 before H6440 M-CMP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 LMS .
10 And the LORD H3068 EDS spoke H1696 W-VPY3MS to H413 PREP Manasseh H4519 , and to H413 PREP his people H5971 : but they would not H3808 W-NPAR hearken H7181 .
11 Wherefore the LORD H3068 EDS brought H935 W-VHY3MS upon H5921 PREP-3MP them the captains H8269 CMP of the host of H6635 the king H4428 L-CMS of Assyria H804 GFS , which H834 RPRO took H3920 Manasseh H4519 among the thorns H2336 , and bound H631 him with fetters H5178 , and carried H1980 him to Babylon H894 .
12 And when he was in affliction H6887 , he besought H2470 the LORD H6440 CMP his God H430 CMP-3MS , and humbled himself H3665 greatly H3966 ADV before H6440 CMP the God H430 CDP of his fathers H1 ,
13 And prayed H6419 W-VTY3MS unto H413 PREP-3MS him : and he was entreated H6279 of him , and heard H8085 his supplication H8467 , and brought him again H7725 to Jerusalem H3389 into his kingdom H4438 . Then Manasseh H4519 knew H3045 W-VQY3MS that H3588 CONJ the LORD H3068 EDS he H1931 PPRO-3MS was God H430 .
14 Now after H310 this H3651 ADV he built H1129 VQQ3MS a wall H2346 without H2435 the city H5892 of David H1732 , on the west side H4628 of Gihon H1521 , in the valley H5158 , even to the entering in H935 at the fish H1709 gate H8179 and compassed about H5437 Ophel H6077 , and raised it up a very great height H1361 , and put H7760 W-VQY3MS captains H8269 of war H2428 NMS in all H3605 B-CMS the fenced H1219 cities H5892 of Judah H3063 .
15 And he took away H5493 W-VHY3MS the strange H5236 gods H430 CDP , and the idol H5566 out of the house H1004 of the LORD H3068 EDS , and all H3605 W-CMS the altars H4196 that H834 RPRO he had built H1129 VQQ3MS in the mount H2022 of the house H1004 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS , and in Jerusalem H3389 , and cast H7993 them out of H2351 the city H5892 .
16 And he repaired H1129 the altar H4196 of the LORD H3068 EDS , and sacrificed H2076 thereon H5921 PREP-3MS peace H8002 offerings H2077 and thank offerings H8426 , and commanded H559 W-VQY3MS Judah H3063 to serve H5647 the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 LMS .
17 Nevertheless H61 the people H5971 did sacrifice H2076 still H5750 ADV in the high places H1116 , yet unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS their God H430 only H7535 ADV .
18 Now the rest H3499 of the acts of H1697 CMP Manasseh H4519 , and his prayer H8605 unto H413 PREP his God H430 CMP-3MS , and the words H1697 of the seers H2374 that spoke H1696 to H413 PREP-3MS him in the name H8034 B-CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS God H430 CDP of Israel H3478 , behold H2009 , they are written in H5921 PREP the book H1697 CMP of the kings H4428 CMP of Israel H3478 LMS .
19 His prayer H8605 also , and how God was entreated H6279 of him , and all H3605 W-CMS his sin H2403 CFS-3MS , and his trespass H4604 , and the places H4725 wherein H834 RPRO he built H1129 VQQ3MS high places H1116 , and set up H5975 groves H842 and graven images H6456 , before H6440 L-CMP he was humbled H3665 : behold H2009 , they are written H3789 among H5921 PREP the sayings H1697 CMP of the seers H2335 .
20 So Manasseh H4519 slept H7901 W-VQY3MS with H5973 PREP his fathers H1 , and they buried H6912 him in his own house H1004 NMS-3MS : and Amon H526 his son H1121 CMS-3MS reigned H4427 in his stead H8478 .
21 Amon H526 was two H8147 W-OFD and twenty H6242 years H8141 NFS old H1121 when he began to reign H4427 , and reigned H4427 two H8147 W-OFD years H8141 NFP in Jerusalem H3389 .
22 But he did H6213 W-VQY3MS that which was evil H7451 in the sight H5869 B-CMP of the LORD H3068 EDS , as H834 RPRO did H6213 W-VQY3MS Manasseh H4519 his father H1 CMS-3MS : for Amon H526 sacrificed H2076 unto all H3605 WL-CMS the carved images H6456 which H834 RPRO Manasseh H4519 his father H1 CMS-3MS had made H6213 W-VQY3MS , and served H5647 them ;
23 And humbled not himself H3665 before H6440 ML-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , as Manasseh H4519 his father H1 CMS-3MS had humbled himself H3665 ; but H3588 CONJ Amon H526 trespassed H819 more and more H7235 .
24 And his servants H5650 conspired H7194 against H5921 PREP-3MS him , and slew H4191 him in his own house H1004 .
25 But the people H5971 NMS of the land H776 D-GFS slew H5221 W-VHY3MP all H3605 NMS them that had conspired H7194 against H5921 PREP king H4428 D-NMS Amon H526 ; and the people H5971 NMS of the land H776 D-GFS made Josiah his son king H4427 in his stead H8478 .
