1 அபிமெலேக்குக்குப்பின்பு, தோதோவின் மகனாகிய பூவாவின் குமாரன் தோலா என்னும் இசக்கார் கோத்திரத்தான் இஸ்ரவேலை இரட்சிக்க எழும்பினான்; அவன் எப்பிராயீம் மலைத்தேசத்து ஊராகிய சாமீரிலே குடியிருந்தான்.
2 அவன் இஸ்ரவேலை இருபத்துமூன்று வருஷம் நியாயம் விசாரித்து, பின்பு மரித்து, சாமீரிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்.
3 அவனுக்குப்பின்பு, கீலேயாத்தியனான யாவீர் எழும்பி, இஸ்ரவேலை இருபத்திரண்டு வருஷம் நியாயம் விசாரித்தான்.
4 முப்பது கழுதைக்குட்டிகளின்மேல் ஏறும் முப்பது குமாரர் அவனுக்கு இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு முப்பது ஊர்களும் இருந்தது; கீலேயாத் தேசத்திலிருக்கிற அவைகளுக்கு இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் யாவீரின் கிராமங்களென்கிற பேர் இருக்கிறது.
5 யாவீர் மரித்து, காமோனிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான்.
6 இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர், மறுபடியும் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்புச் செய்து, கர்த்தரைச் சேவியாமல் அவரை விட்டுப்போய், பாகால்களையும், அஸ்தரோத்தையும், சீரியாவின் தேவர்களையும், சீதோனின் தேவர்களையும், மோவாபின் தேவர்களையும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தேவர்களையும், பெலிஸ்தரின் தேவர்களையும் சேவித்தார்கள்.
7 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் கோபமூண்டு, அவர்களைப் பெலிஸ்தர் கையிலும், அம்மோன் புத்திரர் கையிலும் விற்றுப்போட்டார்.
8 அவர்கள் அந்த வருஷம் முதற்கொண்டு பதினெட்டு வருஷமாய் யோர்தானுக்கு அப்பாலே கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள எமோரியரின் தேசத்தில் இருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரையெல்லாம் நெருக்கி ஒடுக்கினார்கள்.
9 அம்மோன் புத்திரர் யூதாவின்மேலும், பென்யமீன்மேலும், எப்பிராயீம் குடும்பத்தார்மேலும் யுத்தம்பண்ண யோர்தானைக் கடந்துவந்தார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலர் மிகவும் நெருக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
10 அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி முறையிட்டு: உமக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்தோம்; நாங்கள் எங்கள் தேவனைவிட்டு, பாகால்களைச் சேவித்தோம் என்றார்கள்.
11 கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை நோக்கி: எகிப்தியரும், எமோரியரும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரும், பெலிஸ்தியரும்,
12 சீதோனியரும், அமலேக்கியரும், மாகோனியரும், உங்களை ஒடுக்கும் சமயங்களில், நீங்கள் என்னை நோக்கி முறையிட்டபோது, நான் உங்களை அவர்கள் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சிக்கவில்லையா?
13 அப்படியிருந்தும் நீங்கள் என்னைவிட்டு, அந்நிய தேவர்களைச் சேவித்தீர்கள்; ஆகையால் இனி உங்களை இரட்சியேன்.
14 நீங்கள் போய், உங்களுக்காகத் தெரிந்துகொண்ட தேவர்களை நோக்கி முறையிடுங்கள்; அவைகள் உங்கள் ஆபத்தின் காலத்தில் உங்களை இரட்சிக்கட்டும் என்றார்.
15 இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: பாவஞ்செய்தோம், தேவரீர் உம்முடைய பார்வைக்கு நலமானதை எங்களுக்குச் செய்யும்; இன்றைக்குமாத்திரம் எங்களை இரட்சித்தருளும் என்று சொல்லி,
16 அந்நிய தேவர்களைத் தங்கள் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கிவிட்டு, கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர் இஸ்ரவேலின் வருத்தத்தைப் பார்த்து மனதுருகினார்.
17 அம்மோன் புத்திரர் கூட்டங்கூடி, கீலேயாத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரும் கூடிக்கொண்டு, மிஸ்பாவிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.
18 அப்பொழுது கீலேயாத்தின் ஜனங்களும் பிரபுக்களும் ஒருவரையொருவர் நோக்கி: அம்மோன் புத்திரர்மேல் முந்தி யுத்தம்பண்ணப்போகிற மனுஷன் யார்? அவனே கீலேயாத்தின் குடிகளுக்கெல்லாம் தலைவனாயிருப்பான் என்றார்கள்.

7 And the anger H639 CMS of the LORD H3068 EDS was hot H2734 against Israel H3478 , and he sold H4376 them into the hands H3027 B-CFS of the Philistines H6430 TMS , and into the hands H3027 of the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 .
8 And that H1931 year H8141 they vexed H7492 and oppressed H7533 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 : eighteen H8083 MFS years H8141 NFS , all H3605 NMS the children H1121 of Israel H3478 that H834 RPRO were on the other side H5676 Jordan H3383 D-EFS in the land H776 B-GFS of the Amorites H567 D-TMS , which H834 RPRO is in Gilead H1568 .

10 And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 cried H2199 W-VQY3MP unto H413 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS , saying H559 L-VQFC , We have sinned H2398 against thee , both because H3588 W-CONJ we have forsaken H5800 our God H430 , and also served H5647 Baalim H1168 .
11 And the LORD H3068 EDS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H3413 the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , Did not H3808 I-NADV I deliver you from the Egyptians H4714 M-TFS , and from H4480 W-PREP the Amorites H567 D-TMS , from H4480 W-PREP the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 , and from H4480 W-PREP the Philistines H6430 ?
12 The Zidonians H6722 also , and the Amalekites H6002 , and the Maonites H4584 , did oppress H3905 you ; and ye cried H6817 to H413 PREP-1MS me , and I delivered H3467 you out of their hand H3027 .
13 Yet ye H859 W-PPRO-2MP have forsaken H5800 me , and served H5647 other H312 AMP gods H430 EDP : wherefore H3651 L-ADV I will deliver H3467 you no H3808 ADV more H3254 VHY1MS .
14 Go H1980 VQI2MP and cry H2199 unto H413 PREP the gods H430 D-EDP which H834 RPRO ye have chosen H977 ; let them H1992 PPRO-3MP deliver H3467 you in the time H6256 of your tribulation H6869 .
15 And the children H1121 CMP of Israel H3478 said H559 W-VQY3MP unto H413 PREP the LORD H3068 EDS , We have sinned H2398 : do H6213 VQI2MS thou H859 PPRO-2MS unto us whatsoever H3605 seemeth good H2896 D-NMS unto H5869 thee ; deliver H5337 us only H389 ADV , we pray thee H4994 IJEC , this H2088 D-PMS day H3117 D-AMS .
16 And they put away H5493 the strange H5236 gods H430 CDP from among H7130 them , and served H5647 the LORD H3068 EDS : and his soul H5315 NMS-3MS was grieved H7114 for the misery H5999 of Israel H3478 LMS .
17 Then the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 were gathered together H6817 , and encamped H2583 in Gilead H1568 . And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 assembled themselves together H622 , and encamped H2583 in Mizpeh H4709 .
18 And the people H5971 and princes H8269 CMP of Gilead H1568 said H559 W-VQY3MP one H376 NMS to H413 PREP another H7453 NMS-3MS , What H4310 IPRO man H376 D-NMS is he that H834 RPRO will begin H2490 to fight H3898 against the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 ? he shall be H1961 VQY3MS head H7218 over all H3605 the inhabitants H3427 of Gilead H1568 .
