to
this
land
to
be

will
be

said
to
each
other,
"Let's

bowed

Caleb,
because
there
is
another
spirit
in
him,

he
is
fully
following
Me,
I
shall
bring
him
into
the
land
into
which
he
has
gone,
and
his
seed
shall
possess
it.

And
the
Amalekite
and
the
Canaanite
were
living
in
the
valley.
Tomorrow
turn
and
pull
up
stakes
for
yourselves;
going
into
the
wilderness,
the
way
of
the
Sea
of
Reeds.

And
Jehovah
spoke
to
Moses
and
to
Aaron,
saying,

Until
when
shall
I
bear
with
this
evil
company
who
are
murmuring
against
Me?
I
have
heard
the
murmurings
of
the
sons
of
Israel
which
they
are
murmuring
against
Me.
28
Say
to
them,
As
I
live,
says
Jehovah,
as
surely
as
you
have
spoken
in
My
ears,
so
I
will
do
to
you.

Your
dead
bodies
shall
fall
in
this
wilderness,
even
all
your
numbered
sons,
as
to
your
whole
number,
from
twenty
years
old
and
upward,
in
that
you
have
murmured
against
Me.

come

My
hand
to
cause

live

Caleb

for

in
which

men

died
by
the
plague
before

Joshua

Caleb

remained
alive
of
those
men
that
went

spy
out
the
land.

And
Moses
told
these
words
to
all
the
sons
of
Israel;
and
the
people
mourned
deeply.

And
they
rose
up
early
in
the
morning
and
went
up
to
the
top
of
the
mountain,
saying,
Behold,
we
are
here,
and
we
will
go
up
to
the
place
which
Jehovah
has
said,
for
we
have
sinned.

said,
Why
do
you
now
transgress
the
mouth

Jehovah,
since
it
will
not
prosper?

not
go
up,
for
Jehovah

midst,

defeated

died
in
this
wilderness!

is
the
LORD
bringing
us

land

die
by
the
sword?
Our
wives
and
little
children
will
become
plunder.
Wouldn't
it
be
better
for
us
to
go
back
to
Egypt?"

So
they
said
to
one
another,
"Let's
appoint
a
leader
and
go
back
to
Egypt."

Then
Moses
and
Aaron
fell
down
with
their
faces
to
the
ground
in
front
of
the
whole
assembly
of
the
Israelite
community.

son

Nun
and
Caleb
son
of
Jephunneh,
who
were
among
those
who
scouted
out
the
land,
tore
their
clothes

and
said
to
the
entire
Israelite
community:
"The
land
we
passed
through
and
explored
is
an
extremely
good
land.

If
the
LORD
is
pleased
with
us,
He
will
bring
us
into
this
land,
a
land
flowing
with
milk
and
honey,
and
give
it
to
us.

Only
don't
rebel
against
the
LORD,
and
don't
be
afraid
of
the
people
of
the
land,
for
we
will
devour
them.
Their
protection
has
been
removed
from
them,

LORD
is
with

whole
community
threatened
to
stone
them,
the
glory
of
the
LORD

inhabitants

this
land.

have
heard
that
You,
LORD,

among
these
people,
how
You,
Lord,
are

to
face,

cloud
stands

how
You

pillar
of
cloud
by

and
in
a
pillar

fire

If
You
kill
this
people
with

single
blow,
the
nations
that

LORD

able

bring

people
into

land
He
swore
to
give
them,
He

slaughtered

"So
now,

My
Lord's
power

magnified

anger

none

land

promised

settle
you
in,
except
Caleb

Joshua

I

bring

children

you
said

plunder

land

they

enjoy

about
him
by
spreading
a
bad
report
about
the
land--

those
men
who
spread
the
report
about
the
land
were
struck
down
by

LORD.

Only
Joshua
son
of
Nun
and
Caleb
son
of
Jephunneh
remained
alive
of
those
men
who
went
to
scout
out
the
land.

When
Moses
reported
these
words
to
all
the
Israelites,
the
people
were
overcome
with
grief.

They
got
up
early
the
next
morning
and
went
up
the
ridge
of
the
hill
country,
saying,
"Let's
go
to
the
place
the
LORD
promised,
for
we
were
wrong."
41
But
Moses
responded,
"Why
are
you
going
against
the
LORD's
command?
It
won't
succeed.
42
Don't
go,
because
the
LORD
is
not
among
you
and
you
will
be
defeated
by
your
enemies.

The

right
in
front
of
you,
and

will
fall
by
the
sword.

LORD
won't
