पुढील
दोन
वर्षे
इस्राएल
आणि
अराम
यांच्यामध्ये
शांततेची
गेली.
2
तिसऱ्या
वर्षी,
यहूदाचा
राजा
यहोशाफाट
इस्राएलचा
राजा
अहाब
याला
भेटायला
गेला.
3
यावेळी
अहाबने
आपल्या
अधिकाऱ्यांना
विचारले,
“अरामच्या
राजाने
गिलाद
मधील
रामोथ
आपल्याकडून
घेतले
होते
ते
आठवते
ना?
ते
परत
मिळवण्यासाठी
आपण
काहीच
का
केले
नाही?
रामोथ
आपले
असायला
हवे.”
4
आणि
अहाब
राजा
यहोशाफाटला
म्हणाला,
“तुम्ही
आमच्या
बाजूने
रामोथला
अरामी
सैन्याशी
लढाल
का?”यहोशाफाट
म्हणाला,
“अवश्य
माझे
सैन्य
आणि
घोडे
तुमचेच
आहेत.
5
पण
प्रथम
आपण
परमेश्वराचा
सल्ला
घेतला
पाहिजे.”
6
तेव्हा
अहाबने
संदष्ट्यांची
एक
सभा
घेतली.
तेव्हा
तिथे
चारशे
संदेष्टे
हजर
होते.
अहाबने
त्यांना
विचारले,
“आपण
आत्ताच
रामोथ
येथे
अरामी
फौजेवर
चालून
जावे
का?
की
काही
काळ
थांबावे?”संदेष्टे
म्हणाले,
“तुम्ही
खुशाल
आत्ताच
हल्ला
करा.
परमेश्वर
तुम्हाला
जय
मिळवून
देईल.”
7
पण
यहोशाफाटने
शंका
काढली,
“परमेश्वराचा
आणखी
कोणी
संदेष्टा
यांच्या
खेरीज
इथे
आहे
का?
तसा
असेल
तर
त्यालाही
देवाचे
मत
विचारलेले
बरे.”
8
राजा
अहाब
म्हणाला,
“तसा
आणखी
एक
संदेष्टा
आहे.
इम्ला
याचा
मुलगा
मीखाया.
पण
मी
त्याचा
द्वेष
करतो.
कारण
तो
काही
सांगतो
तेव्हा
माझ्याबद्दल
कधीच
चांगले
भविष्यकथन
करत
नाही.
त्याचे
बोलणे
मला
अप्रिय
वाटते.”यहोशाफाट
म्हणाला,
“अहाब
राजा,
तुझे
असे
बोलणे
बरोबर
नव्हे.”
9
तेव्हा
अहाब
राजाने
आपल्या
एका
सेवकाला
मीखायाला
घेऊन
येण्यास
सांगितले.
10
यावेळी
दोन्ही
राजे
राजवस्त्रे
घालून
सिंहासनावर
बसले
होते.शोमरोनच्या
वेशीजवळ
न्यायदान

त्या
ठिकाणी
ते
होते.
सर्व
संदेष्टे
त्यांच्या
समोर
उभे
होते.
त्यांचे
भविष्यकथन
चालेले
होते.
11
त्यांच्यापैकी
एक
कनानाचा
मुलगा
सिद्कीया
हा
होता.
त्याने
प्रचंड
शक्तीचे
प्रतीक
अशी
लोखंडाची
शिंगे
केली
होती.
तो
अहाबला
म्हणाला,
“‘परमेश्वराचे
म्हणणे,
‘ही
शिंगे
तू
अरामी
सैन्याविरुध्द
लढताना
वापरावीस’
असे
देवाचे
म्हणणे
आहे.
म्हणजे
तू
शत्रूचा
पराभव
करशील,
त्याचा
संहार
करशील.”
12
सिद्कीयाचे
हे
म्हणणे
इतर
सर्वच
संदेष्ट्यांना
पटले.
पुढे
सिद्कीया
म्हणाला,
“आता
तुझ्या
सैन्याने
चढाई
करावी.
रामोथ
येथे
अरामी
सैन्यावर
हल्ला
करावा.
विजय
तुमचाच
आहे.
परमेश्वर
तुम्हाला
यश
देईल.”
13
हे
चाललेले
असतानाच
एक
सेवक
मीखायाच्या
शोधात
गेला.
त्याला
भेटून
म्हणाला,
“राजा
या
युध्दात
विजयी
होईल
असे
सर्वच
संदेष्ट्यांचे
म्हणणे
आहे.
तेव्हा
तूही
तसेच
म्हणणे
श्रेयस्कर
ठरेल
व
ते
सुरक्षितपणाचे
होईल.”
14
पण
मीखाया
म्हणाला,
“नाही,
कादापि
नाही.
जे
परमेश्वर
माझ्याकडून
वदवतो
तेच
मी
सांगीन.
माझी
तशी
प्रतिज्ञाच
आहे.”
15
मीखाया
मग
राजाकडे
आला.
राजाने
त्याला
विचारले,
“मीखाया,
मी
आणि
राजा
यहोशाफाट
हातमिळवणी
करु
ना?
रामोथला
अरामच्या
सैन्यावर
आता
चढाई
करु
का?”मीखाया
म्हणाला,
“हो
तुम्ही
आत्ताच
ही
लढाई
करा.
परमेश्वर
तुम्हाला
यश
देईल.”
16
पण
अहाब
त्याला
म्हणाला,
“तू
हे
परमेश्वराच्या
शक्तीने
सांगत
नाहीस.
आपल्या
मनचे
सांगतो
आहेस.
तेव्हा
खरे
काम
ते
सांग
परमेश्वराचे
म्हणणे
सांग.
कितीदा
मी
तुला
तेच
सांगू?”
17
तेव्हा
मीखायाने
सांगितले,
“काय
होणार
ते
मला
दिसते
आहे.
इस्राएलचे
सैन्य
डोंगरांवर
इतस्तत:
पसरेल.
मेंढपाळ
नसलेल्या
मेंढरांसारखी
त्यांची
अवस्था
होईल.
परमेश्वराचे
म्हणणे
असे
आहे,
‘यांना
कोणी
नेता
नाही.
यांनी
घरी
जावे.
लढाईच्या
भानगडीत
पडू
नये.”
18
मग
अहाब
यहोशाफाटला
म्हणाला,
“पाहा,
हेच
बोललो
होतो
ना
मी!
हा
संदेष्टा
कधीही
माझ्याबद्दल
चांगले
भविष्यकथन
करत
नाही.
हा
नेहमी
अप्रिय
गोष्टीच
मला
ऐकवतो.”
19
इकडे
परमेश्वराचे
म्हणणे
काय
आहे
ते
मीखाया
सांगतच
होता.
मीखाया
म्हणाला,
“ऐका
परमेश्वर
काय
म्हणतो
ते
पाहा
परमेश्वर
स्वर्गात
सिंहासनावर
बसलेला
मी
पाहिला.
त्याचे
दूत
त्याच्या
शेजारी
उभे
आहेत.
20
देव
म्हणाला,
‘अहाब
राजाची
कोणी
फसगत
करेल
का?
त्याने
रामोथला
अरामवर
हल्ला
करावा
असे
मला
वाटते.
त्यात
त्याला
मरण
येईल.’
तेव्हा
आता
काय
करावे
याबद्दल
देवदूतांमध्ये
एकमत
होईना.
21
मग
त्यापैकी
एकजण
परमेश्वराकडे
गेला
आणि
म्हणाला,
‘मी
हे
काम
करीन.’
22
परमेश्वर
त्याला
म्हणाला,
‘तू
अहाबची
फसगत
कशी
करशील?’
यावर
तो
देवदूत
म्हणाला,
‘मी
अहाबच्या
संदेष्ट्यांमध्ये
गोंधळ
माजवून
देईन.
त्यांना
मी
राजाशी
खोटे
बोलायला
प्रवृत्त
करीन
संदेष्टे
राजाला
सांगतील
ते
खोटे
असेल.’
यावर
परमेश्वर
म्हणाला,
‘हे
चांगले
झाले
जा
आणि
अहाब
राजाला
या
मोहात
पाड
तुला
यश
येईन.”‘
23
मीखायाचे
सांगून
झाले.
मग
तो
म्हणाला,
“तेव्हा
खरी
हकीकत
अशी
आहे.
परमेश्वरानेच
तुमच्या
संदेष्ट्यांना
खोटे
बोलायला
लावले
आहे.
तुमच्यावर
मोठे
संकट
ओढवावे
असे
परमेश्वरालाच
वाटते.”
24
मग
सिद्कीया
हा
संदेष्टा
मीखायाजवळ
गेला.
मीखायाला
त्याने
एक
थापड
मारली.
सिद्कीया
म्हणाला,
“माझ्यातली
परमेश्वराची
शक्ती
संपली
आहे
आणि
तो
आता
तुझ्या
मार्फतच
बोलतो
आहे
अशी
खरेच
तुझी
समजूत
आहे?”
25
मीखाया
म्हणाला,
“लवकरच
आपत्ती
येणार
आहे.
तेव्हा
तू
एका
लहानशा
खोलीत
दडून
बसशील
तेव्हा
माझे
म्हणणे
खरे
असल्याचे
तुझ्या
लक्षात
येईल.”
26
तेव्हा
अहाब
राजाने
आपल्या
एका
सेवकाला
मीखायाला
पकडायचा
हुकूम
केला.
राजा
म्हणाला,
“याला
धरा
आणि
नगराधिकारी
आमोन
व
राजपुत्र
योवाश
यांच्याकडे
घेऊन
जा.
27
मीखायाला
तुरुंगात
घालायला
त्यांना
सांगा.
त्याला
फक्त
भाकर
आणि
पाणी
द्या.
युध्दावरुन
मी
परत
येईपर्यंत
त्याला
तिथेच
राहू
द्या.”
28
मीखाया
मोठ्याने
म्हणाला,
“मी
काय
म्हणतो
ते
सर्व
लोकहो
ऐका.
राजा,
तू
युध्दावरुन
जिवंत
परत
आलास
तर
परमेश्वरमाझ्या
मार्फत
बोलला
नाही
असे
खुशाल
समजा.”
29
नंतर
राजा
अहाब
आणि
राजा
यहोशाफाट
रामोथ
येथे
अरामच्या
सैन्याशी
लढायला
गेले.
गिलाद
प्रांतात
हे
युध्द
झाले.
30
अहाब
यहोशाफाटला
म्हणाला,
“आपण
आता
युध्दाचा
व्यूह
रचू.
मला
राजा
म्हणून
कोणी
ओळखणार
नाही
असे
कपडे
मी
घालीन.
पण
तू
मात्र
राजाला
शोभेल
असाच
पोषाख
कर.”
अशाप्रकारे
इस्राएलच्या
राजाने
अगदी
चारचौघांसारखे
कपडे
करुन
युध्दाला
सुरुवात
केली.
31
अरामच्या
राजाकडे
बत्तीस
रथाधिपती
होते.
त्या
राजाने
या
बत्तीस
जणांना
इस्राएलच्या
राजाचा
शोध
घ्यायला
सांगितले.
राजाला
ठार
करण्याबद्दल
त्याने
त्यांना
बजावले.
32
तेव्हा
युध्द
चालू
असताना
या
रथाधिपतींनी
राजा
यहोशाफाटला
पाहिले.
तोच
इस्राएलचा
राजा
असे
त्यांना
वाटले.
त्यामुळे
त्याचा
ते
वध
करायला
निघाले.
यहोशाफाट
आरडाओरडा
करु
लागला.
33
हा
अहाब
राजा
नव्हे
हे
त्या
रथाधिपतींच्या
लक्षात
आल्यावर
त्यांनी
त्याला
मारले
नाही.
34
तेव्हा
एका
सैनिकाने,
कोणावर
नेम
धरुन
नव्हे
असा
हवेतच
एक
बाण
सोडला.
हा
बाण
नेमका
इस्राएलाचा
राजा
अहाब
याला
लागला.
शरीराचा
जो
छोटा
भाग
चिलखताने
झाकलेला
नव्हाता
तिथे
बाण
लागला.
तेव्हा
राजा
अहाब
आपल्या
सारथ्याला
म्हणाला,
“मला
बाण
लागला
आहे.
रथ
येथून
हलव.
आपण
या
लढाईपासून
दुर
जाऊ.”
35
युध्द
मात्र
चालूच
राहिले.
राजा
अहाब
आपल्या
रथात
बसून
राहिला.
रथात
टेकून
बसून
तो
अरामच्या
सैन्याकडे
पाहात
होता.
त्याला
एवढा
रक्तरत्राव
झाला
की
रथाच्या
बैठकीच्या
भागात
रक्ताचे
थारोळे
झाले.
संध्याकाळच्या
सुमारास
राजाला
मृत्यू
आला.
36
सूर्यास्ताच्या
वेळी
इस्राएलच्या
सर्वसैन्याला
आपापल्या
प्रांतात
घरोघरी
जायचा
आदेश
मिळाला.
37
राजा
अहाबला
अशा
तऱ्हेने
मरण
आले.
काही
जणांनी
त्याचा
देह
शोमरोनला
आणला.
त्याला
त्यांनी
तिथे
पुरले.
38
शोमरोनमधल्या

लोकांनी
अहाबचा

धुतला.

And
they
continued
three
years
without
war
between
Syria
and

2
And
it
came
to
pass
in
the
third

that
Jehoshaphat
the
king
of
Judah
came
down
to
the
king
of
Israel.
3
And
the

said
unto

Know

that
Ramoth

Gilead
is
ours,
and
we
be
still,
and
take
it

the

of
the
king
of

4
And
he
said
unto
Jehoshaphat,
Wilt
thou
go
with
me
to
battle
to
Ramothgilead?
And
Jehoshaphat
said
to
the
king
of
Israel,
I
am
as
thou
art,
my
people
as
thy
people,
my
horses
as
thy

5
And
Jehoshaphat
said
unto
the
king
of
Israel,
Enquire,
I
pray

6
Then
the

Shall

forbear?
And
they
said,
Go
up;
for
the

enquire
of
him?
8
And
the
king
of
Israel
said
unto
Jehoshaphat,
There
is
yet
one
man,
Micaiah
the
son
of
Imlah,
by
whom
we
may
enquire
of
the
LORD:
but
I
hate
him;
for
he
doth
not
prophesy
good
concerning
me,
but
evil.
And
Jehoshaphat
said,
Let
not
the
king
say
so.
9
Then
the
king
of
Israel
called
an
officer,
and
said,
Hasten
hither
Micaiah
the
son
of
Imlah.
10
And
the
king
of
Israel
and
Jehoshaphat
the
king
of
Judah
sat
each
on
his
throne,
having
put
on
their
robes,
in
a
void
place
in
the
entrance
of
the
gate
of
Samaria;
and
all
the
prophets
prophesied
before
them.
11
And
Zedekiah
the
son
of
Chenaanah
made
him
horns
of
iron:
and
he
said,
Thus
saith
the
LORD,
With
these
shalt
thou
push
the
Syrians,
until
thou
have
consumed
them.
12
And
all
the
prophets
prophesied
so,
saying,
Go
up
to
Ramothgilead,
and
prosper:
for
the
LORD
shall
deliver
it
into
the
king's
hand.
13
And
the
messenger
that
was
gone
to
call
Micaiah
spake
unto
him,
saying,
Behold
now,
the
words
of
the
prophets
declare
good
unto
the
king
with
one
mouth:
let
thy
word,
I
pray
thee,
be
like
the
word
of
one
of
them,
and
speak
that
which
is
good.
14
And
Micaiah
said,
As
the
LORD
liveth,
what
the
LORD
saith
unto
me,
that
will
I
speak.
15
So
he
came
to
the
king.
And
the
king
said
unto
him,
Micaiah,
shall
we
go
against
Ramothgilead
to
battle,
or
shall
we
forbear?
And
he
answered
him,
Go,
and
prosper:
for
the
LORD
shall
deliver
it
into
the
hand
of
the
king.
16
And
the
king
said
unto
him,
How
many
times
shall
I
adjure
thee
that
thou
tell
me
nothing
but
that
which
is
true
in
the
name
of
the
LORD?
17
And
he
said,
I
saw
all
Israel
scattered
upon
the
hills,
as
sheep
that
have
not
a
shepherd:
and
the
LORD
said,
These
have
no
master:
let
them
return
every
man
to
his
house
in
peace.
18
And
the
king
of
Israel
said
unto
Jehoshaphat,
Did
I
not
tell
thee
that
he
would
prophesy
no
good
concerning
me,
but
evil?
19
And
he
said,
Hear
thou
therefore
the
word
of
the
LORD:
I
saw
the
LORD
sitting
on
his
throne,
and
all
the
host
of
heaven
standing
by
him
on
his
right
hand
and
on
his
left.
20
And
the
LORD
said,
Who
shall
persuade
Ahab,
that
he
may
go
up
and
fall
at
Ramothgilead?
And
one
said
on
this
manner,
and
another
said
on
that
manner.
21
And
there
came
forth
a
spirit,
and
stood
before
the
LORD,
and
said,
I
will
persuade
him.
22
And
the
LORD
said
unto
him,
Wherewith?
And
he
said,
I
will
go
forth,
and
I
will
be
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouth
of
all
his
prophets.
And
he
said,
Thou
shalt
persuade
him,
and
prevail
also:
go
forth,
and
do
so.
23
Now
therefore,
behold,
the
LORD
hath
put
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouth
of
all
these
thy
prophets,
and
the
LORD
hath
spoken
evil
concerning
thee.
24
But
Zedekiah
the
son
of
Chenaanah
went
near,
and
smote
Micaiah
on
the
cheek,
and
said,
Which
way
went
the
Spirit
of
the
LORD
from
me
to
speak
unto
thee?
25
And
Micaiah
said,
Behold,
thou
shalt
see
in
that
day,
when
thou
shalt
go
into
an
inner
chamber
to
hide
thyself.
26
And
the
king
of
Israel
said,
Take
Micaiah,
and
carry
him
back
unto
Amon
the
governor
of
the
city,
and
to
Joash
the
king's
son;
27
And
say,
Thus
saith
the
king,
Put
this
fellow
in
the
prison,
and
feed
him
with
bread
of
affliction
and
with
water
of
affliction,
until
I
come
in
peace.
28
And
Micaiah
said,
If
thou
return
at
all
in
peace,
the
LORD
hath
not
spoken
by
me.
And
he
said,
Hearken,
O
people,
every
one
of
you.
29
So
the
king
of
Israel
and
Jehoshaphat
the
king
of
Judah
went
up
to
Ramothgilead.
30
And
the
king
of
Israel
said
unto
Jehoshaphat,
I
will
disguise
myself,
and
enter
into
the
battle;
but
put
thou
on
thy
robes.
And
the
king
of
Israel
disguised
himself,
and
went
into
the
battle.
31
But
the
king
of
Syria
commanded
his
thirty
and
two
captains
that
had
rule
over
his
chariots,
saying,
Fight
neither
with
small
nor
great,
save
only
with
the
king
of
Israel.
32
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
the
captains
of
the
chariots
saw
Jehoshaphat,
that
they
said,
Surely
it
is
the
king
of
Israel.
And
they
turned
aside
to
fight
against
him:
and
Jehoshaphat
cried
out.
33
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
the
captains
of
the
chariots
perceived
that
it
was
not
the
king
of
Israel,
that
they
turned
back
from
pursuing
him.
34
And
a
certain
man
drew
a
bow
at
a
venture,
and
smote
the
king
of
Israel
between
the
joints
of
the
harness:
wherefore
he
said
unto
the
driver
of
his
chariot,
Turn
thine
hand,
and
carry
me
out
of
the
host;
for
I
am
wounded.
35
And
the
battle
increased
that
day:
and
the
king
was
stayed
up
in
his
chariot
against
the
Syrians,
and
died
at
even:
and
the
blood
ran
out
of
the
wound
into
the
midst
of
the
chariot.
36
And
there
went
a
proclamation
throughout
the
host
about
the
going
down
of
the
sun,
saying,
Every
man
to
his
city,
and
every
man
to
his
own
country.
37
So
the
king
died,
and
was
brought
to
Samaria;
and
they
buried
the
king
in
Samaria.
38
And
one
washed
the
chariot
in
the
pool
of
Samaria;
and
the
dogs
licked
up
his
blood;
and
they
washed
his
armour;
according
unto
the
word
of
the
LORD
which
he
spake.
39
Now
the
rest
of
the
acts
of
Ahab,
and
all
that
he
did,
and
the
ivory
house
which
he
made,
and
all
the
cities
that
he
built,
are
they
not
written
in
the
book
of
the
chronicles
of
the
kings
of
Israel?
40
So
Ahab
slept
with
his
fathers;
and
Ahaziah
his
son
reigned
in
his
stead.
41
And
Jehoshaphat
the
son
of
Asa
began
to
reign
over
Judah
in
the
fourth
year
of
Ahab
king
of
Israel.
42
Jehoshaphat
was
thirty
and
five
years
old
when
he
began
to
reign;
and
he
reigned
twenty
and
five
years
in
Jerusalem.
And
his
mother's
name
was
Azubah
the
daughter
of
Shilhi.
43
And
he
walked
in
all
the
ways
of
Asa
his
father;
he
turned
not
aside
from
it,
doing
that
which
was
right
in
the
eyes
of
the
LORD:
nevertheless
the
high
places
were
not
taken
away;
for
the
people
offered
and
burnt
incense
yet
in
the
high
places.
44
And
Jehoshaphat
made
peace
with
the
king
of
Israel.
45
Now
the
rest
of
the
acts
of
Jehoshaphat,
and
his
might
that
he
shewed,
and
how
he
warred,
are
they
not
written
in
the
book
of
the
chronicles
of
the
kings
of
Judah?
46
And
the
remnant
of
the
sodomites,
which
remained
in
the
days
of
his
father
Asa,
he
took
out
of
the
land.
47
There
was
then
no
king
in
Edom:
a
deputy
was
king.
48
Jehoshaphat
made
ships
of
Tharshish
to
go
to
Ophir
for
gold:
but
they
went
not;
for
the
ships
were
broken
at
Eziongeber.
49
Then
said
Ahaziah
the
son
of
Ahab
unto
Jehoshaphat,
Let
my
servants
go
with
thy
servants
in
the
ships.
But
Jehoshaphat
would
not.
50
And
Jehoshaphat
slept
with
his
fathers,
and
was
buried
with
his
fathers
in
the
city
of
David
his
father:
and
Jehoram
his
son
reigned
in
his
stead.
51
Ahaziah
the
son
of
Ahab
began
to
reign
over
Israel
in
Samaria
the
seventeenth
year
of
Jehoshaphat
king
of
Judah,
and
reigned
two
years
over
Israel.
52
And
he
did
evil
in
the
sight
of
the
LORD,
and
walked
in
the
way
of
his
father,
and
in
the
way
of
his
mother,
and
in
the
way
of
Jeroboam
the
son
of
Nebat,
who
made
Israel
to
sin:
53
For
he
served
Baal,
and
worshipped
him,
and
provoked
to
anger
the
LORD
God
of
Israel,
according
to
all
that
his
father
had
done.
Isaiah 29:10
10
For
the
LORD
hath
poured
out
upon
you
the
spirit
of
deep
sleep,
and
hath
closed
your
eyes:
the
prophets
and
your
rulers,
the
seers
hath
he
covered.
Revelation 14:14
14
And
I
looked,
and
behold
a
white
cloud,
and
upon
the
cloud
one
sat
like
unto
the
Son
of
man,
having
on
his
head
a
golden
crown,
and
in
his
hand
a
sharp
sickle.

H3027
of
the
king.
H4428
16
And
the
king
H4428
said
H559
unto
H413
him,
How
H5704
many
H4100
times
H6471
shall
I
H589
adjure
H7650
thee
that
H834
thou
tell
H1696
H413
me
nothing
H3808
but
H7535
that
which
is
true
H571
in
the
name
H8034
of
the
LORD
H3068
?
17
And
he
said,
H559
I
saw
H7200
H853
all
H3605
Israel
H3478
scattered
H6327
upon
H413
the
hills,
H2022
as
sheep
H6629
that
H834
have
not
H369
a
shepherd:
H7462
and
the
LORD
H3068
said,
H559
These
H428
have
no
H3808
master:
H113
let
them
return
H7725
every
man
H376
to
his
house
H1004
in
peace.
H7965
18
And
the
king
H4428
of
Israel
H3478
said
H559
unto
H413
Jehoshaphat,
H3092
Did
I
not
H3808
tell
H559
H413
thee
that
he
would
prophesy
H5012
no
H3808
good
H2896
concerning
H5921
me,
but
H3588
H518
evil
H7451
?
19
And
he
said,
H559
Hear
H8085
thou
therefore
H3651
the
word
H1697
of
the
LORD:
H3068
I
saw
H7200
H853
the
LORD
H3068
sitting
H3427
on
H5921
his
throne,
H3678
and
all
H3605
the
host
H6635
of
heaven
H8064
standing
H5975
by
H5921
him
on
his
right
hand
H4480
H3225
and
on
his
left
H4480
H8040
.
20
And
the
LORD
H3068
said,
H559
Who
H4310
shall
persuade
H6601
H853
Ahab,
H256
that
he
may
go
up
H5927
and
fall
H5307
at
Ramoth-
H7433
gilead?
And
one
H2088
said
H559
on
this
manner,
H3541
and
another
H2088
said
H559
on
that
manner.
H3541
21
And
there
came
forth
H3318
a
spirit,
H7307
and
stood
H5975
before
H6440
the
LORD,
H3068
and
said,
H559
I
H589
will
persuade
H6601
him.
22
And
the
LORD
H3068
said
H559
unto
H413
him,
Wherewith
H4100
?
And
he
said,
H559
I
will
go
forth,
H3318
and
I
will
be
H1961
a
lying
H8267
spirit
H7307
in
the
mouth
H6310
of
all
H3605
his
prophets.
H5030
And
he
said,
H559
Thou
shalt
persuade
H6601
him
,
and
prevail
H3201
also:
H1571
go
forth,
H3318
and
do
H6213
so.
H3651
23
Now
H6258
therefore,
behold,
H2009
the
LORD
H3068
hath
put
H5414
a
lying
H8267
spirit
H7307
in
the
mouth
H6310
of
all
H3605
these
H428
thy
prophets,
H5030
and
the
LORD
H3068
hath
spoken
H1696
evil
H7451
concerning
H5921
thee.
24
But
Zedekiah
H6667
the
son
H1121
of
Chenaanah
H3668
went
near,
H5066
and
smote
H5221
H853
Micaiah
H4321
on
H5921
the
cheek,
H3895
and
said,
H559
Which
H335
way
H2088
went
H5674
the
Spirit
H7307
of
the
LORD
H3068
from
H4480
H854
me
to
speak
H1696
unto
H854
thee?
25
And
Micaiah
H4321
said,
H559
Behold,
H2009
thou
shalt
see
H7200
in
that
H1931
day,
H3117
when
H834
thou
shalt
go
into
H935
an
inner
H2315
chamber
H2315
to
hide
thyself.
H2247
26
And
the
king
H4428
of
Israel
H3478
said,
H559
Take
H3947
H853
Micaiah,
H4321
and
carry
him
back
H7725
unto
H413
Amon
H526
the
governor
H8269
of
the
city,
H5892
and
to
H413
Joash
H3101
the
king's
H4428
son;
H1121
27
And
say,
H559
Thus
H3541
saith
H559
the
king,
H4428
Put
H7760
H853
this
H2088
fellow
in
the
prison
H1004
H3608
,
and
feed
H398
him
with
bread
H3899
of
affliction
H3906
and
with
water
H4325
of
affliction,
H3906
until
H5704
I
come
H935
in
peace.
H7965
28
And
Micaiah
H4321
said,
H559
If
H518
thou
return
at
all
H7725
H7725
in
peace,
H7965
the
LORD
H3068
hath
not
H3808
spoken
H1696
by
me
.
And
he
said,
H559
Hearken,
H8085
O
people,
H5971
every
H3605
one
of
you.
29
So
the
king
H4428
of
Israel
H3478
and
Jehoshaphat
H3092
the
king
H4428
of
Judah
H3063
went
up
H5927
to
Ramoth-
H7433
gilead.
30
And
the
king
H4428
of
Israel
H3478
said
H559
unto
H413
Jehoshaphat,
H3092
I
will
disguise
myself,
H2664
and
enter
H935
into
the
battle;
H4421
but
put
H3847
thou
H859
on
thy
robes.
H899
And
the
king
H4428
of
Israel
H3478
disguised
himself,
H2664
and
went
H935
into
the
battle.
H4421
31
But
the
king
H4428
of
Syria
H758
commanded
H6680
H853
his
H834
thirty
H7970
and
two
H8147
captains
that
had
rule
over
H8269
his
H834
chariots,
H7393
saying,
H559
Fight
H3898
neither
H3808
with
H854
small
H6996
nor
great,
H1419
save
H3588
H518
only
H905
with
H854
the
king
H4428
of
Israel.
H3478
32
And
it
came
to
pass,
H1961
when
the
captains
H8269
of
the
chariots
H7393
saw
H7200
H853
Jehoshaphat,
H3092
that
they
H1992
said,
H559
Surely
H389
it
H1931
is
the
king
H4428
of
Israel.
H3478
And
they
turned
aside
H5493
to
fight
H3898
against
H5921
him
:
and
Jehoshaphat
H3092
cried
out.
H2199
33
And
it
came
to
pass,
H1961
when
the
captains
H8269
of
the
chariots
H7393
perceived
H7200
that
H3588
it
H1931
was
not
H3808
the
king
H4428
of
Israel,
H3478
that
they
turned
back
H7725
from
pursuing
H4480
H310
him.
34
And
a
certain
man
H376
drew
H4900
a
bow
H7198
at
a
venture,
H8537
and
smote
H5221
H853
the
king
H4428
of
Israel
H3478
between
H996
the
joints
H1694
of
the
harness:
H8302
wherefore
he
said
H559
unto
the
driver
of
his
chariot,
H7395
Turn
H2015
thine
hand,
H3027
and
carry
me
out
H3318
of
H4480
the
host;
H4264
for
H3588
I
am
wounded.
H2470
35
And
the
battle
H4421
increased
H5927
that
H1931
day:
H3117
and
the
king
H4428
was
H1961
stayed
up
H5975
in
his
chariot
H4818
against
H5227
the
Syrians,
H758
and
died
H4191
at
even:
H6153
and
the
blood
H1818
ran
out
H3332
of
the
wound
H4347
into
H413
the
midst
H2436
of
the
chariot.
H7393
36
And
there
went
H5674
a
proclamation
H7440
throughout
the
host
H4264
about
the
going
down
H935
of
the
sun,
H8121
saying,
H559
Every
man
H376
to
H413
his
city,
H5892
and
every
man
H376
to
H413
his
own
country.
H776
37
So
the
king
H4428
died,
H4191
and
was
brought
H935
to
Samaria;
H8111
and
they
buried
H6912
H853
the
king
H4428
in
Samaria.
H8111
38
And
one
washed
H7857
H853
the
chariot
H7393
in
H5921
the
pool
H1295
of
Samaria;
H8111
and
the
dogs
H3611
licked
up
H3952
H853
his
blood;
H1818
and
they
washed
H7364
his
armor;
H2185
according
unto
the
word
H1697
of
the
LORD
H3068
which
H834
he
spoke.
H1696
39
Now
the
rest
H3499
of
the
acts
H1697
of
Ahab,
H256
and
all
H3605
that
H834
he
did,
H6213
and
the
ivory
H8127
house
H1004
which
H834
he
made,
H1129
and
all
H3605
the
cities
H5892
that
H834
he
built,
H1129
are
they
H1992
not
H3808
written
H3789
in
H5921
the
book
H5612
of
the
chronicles
H1697
H3117
of
the
kings
H4428
of
Israel
H3478
?
40
So
Ahab
H256
slept
H7901
with
H5973
his
fathers;
H1
and
Ahaziah
H274
his
son
H1121
reigned
H4427
in
his
stead.
H8478
41
And
Jehoshaphat
H3092
the
son
H1121
of
Asa
H609
began
to
reign
H4427
over
H5921
Judah
H3063
in
the
fourth
H702
year
H8141
of
Ahab
H256
king
H4428
of
Israel.
H3478
42
Jehoshaphat
H3092
was
thirty
H7970
and
five
H2568
years
H8141
old
H1121
when
he
began
to
reign;
H4427
and
he
reigned
H4427
twenty
H6242
and
five
H2568
years
H8141
in
Jerusalem.
H3389
And
his
mother's
H517
name
H8034
was
Azubah
H5806
the
daughter
H1323
of
Shilhi.
H7977
43
And
he
walked
H1980
in
all
H3605
the
ways
H1870
of
Asa
H609
his
father;
H1
he
turned
not
aside
H3808
H5493
from
H4480
it,
doing
H6213
that
which
was
right
H3477
in
the
eyes
H5869
of
the
LORD:
H3068
nevertheless
H389
the
high
places
H1116
were
not
H3808
taken
away;
H5493
for
the
people
H5971
offered
H2076
and
burnt
incense
H6999
yet
H5750
in
the
high
places.
H1116
44
And
Jehoshaphat
H3092
made
peace
H7999
with
H5973
the
king
H4428
of
Israel.
H3478
45
Now
the
rest
H3499
of
the
acts
H1697
of
Jehoshaphat,
H3092
and
his
might
H1369
that
H834
he
showed,
H6213
and
how
H834
he
warred,
H3898
are
they
H1992
not
H3808
written
H3789
in
H5921
the
book
H5612
of
the
chronicles
H1697
H3117
of
the
kings
H4428
of
Judah
H3063
?
46
And
the
remnant
H3499
of
the
sodomites,
H6945
which
H834
remained
H7604
in
the
days
H3117
of
his
father
H1
Asa,
H609
he
took
H1197
out
of
H4480
the
land.
H776
47
There
was
then
no
H369
king
H4428
in
Edom:
H123
a
deputy
H5324
was
king.
H4428
48
Jehoshaphat
H3092
made
H6213
ships
H591
of
Tharshish
H8659
to
go
H1980
to
Ophir
H211
for
gold:
H2091
but
they
went
H1980
not;
H3808
for
H3588
the
ships
H591
were
broken
H7665
at
Ezion-
H6100
geber.
49
Then
H227
said
H559
Ahaziah
H274
the
son
H1121
of
Ahab
H256
unto
H413
Jehoshaphat,
H3092
Let
my
servants
H5650
go
H1980
with
H5973
thy
servants
H5650
in
the
ships.
H591
But
Jehoshaphat
H3092
would
H14
not.
H3808
50
And
Jehoshaphat
H3092
slept
H7901
with
H5973
his
fathers,
H1
and
was
buried
H6912
with
H5973
his
fathers
H1
in
the
city
H5892
of
David
H1732
his
father:
H1
and
Jehoram
H3088
his
son
H1121
reigned
H4427
in
his
stead.
H8478
51
Ahaziah
H274
the
son
H1121
of
Ahab
H256
began
to
reign
H4427
over
H5921
Israel
H3478
in
Samaria
H8111
the
seventeenth

of

king

and
reigned
H4427
two
years
H8141
over
H5921
Israel.
H3478
52
And
he
did
H6213
evil
H7451
in
the
sight
H5869
of
the
LORD,
H3068
and
walked
H1980
in
the
way
H1870
of
his
father,
H1
and
in
the
way
H1870
of
his
mother,
H517
and
in
the
way
H1870
of
Jeroboam
H3379
the
son
H1121
of
Nebat,
H5028
who
H834
made
Israel
to
sin
H2398
H853
H3478
:
53
For
he
served
H5647
H853
Baal,
H1168
and
worshiped
H7812
him
,
and
provoked
to

had
done.

no
war
between
Aram
and
Israel,
2
and
it
cometh
to
pass
in
the
third
year,
that
Jehoshaphat
king
of
Judah
cometh
down
unto
the
king
of
Israel,
3
and
the
king
of
Israel
saith
unto
his
servants,
`Have
ye
not
known
that
ours
is
Ramoth-Gilead?
and
we
are
keeping
silent
from
taking
it
out
of
the
hand
of
the
king
of
Aram!`
4
And
he
saith
unto
Jehoshaphat,
`Dost
thou
go
with
me
to
battle
to
Ramoth-Gilead?`
and
Jehoshaphat
saith
unto
the
king
of
Israel,
`As
I
am,
so
thou;
as
my
people,
so
thy
people;
as
my
horses,
so
thy
horses.`
5
And
Jehoshaphat
saith
unto
the
king
of
Israel,
`Seek,
I
pray
thee,
to-day,
the
word
of
Jehovah;`
6
and
the
king
of
Israel
gathereth
the
prophets,
about
four
hundred
men,
and
saith
unto
them,
`Do
I
go
against
Ramoth-Gilead
to
battle,
or
do
I
forbear?`
and
they
say,
`Go
up,
and
the
Lord
doth
give
it
into
the
hand
of
the
king.`
7
And
Jehoshaphat
saith,
`Is
there
not
here
a
prophet
of
Jehovah
besides,
and
we
seek
by
him?`
8
And
the
king
of
Israel
saith
unto
Jehoshaphat,
`Yet
--
one
man
to
seek
Jehovah
by
him,
and
I
have
hated
him,
for
he
doth
not
prophesy
concerning
me
good,
but
evil
--
Micaiah
son
of
Imlah;`
and
Jehoshaphat
saith,
`Let
not
the
king
say
so.`
9
And
the
king
of
Israel
calleth
unto
a
certain
eunuch,
and
saith,
`Hasten
Micaiah
son
of
Imlah.`
10
And
the
king
of
Israel
and
Jehoshaphat
king
of
Judah
are
sitting,
each
on
his
throne,
clothed
with
garments,
in
a
threshing-floor,
at
the
opening
of
the
gate
of
Samaria,
and
all
the
prophets
are
prophesying
before
them.
11
And
Zedekiah
son
of
Chenaanah
maketh
for
himself
horns
of
iron,
and
saith,
`Thus
said
Jehovah,
By
these
thou
dost
push
the
Aramaeans
till
they
are
consumed;`
12
and
all
the
prophets
are
prophesying
so,
saying,
`Go
up
to
Ramoth-Gilead,
and
prosper,
and
Jehovah
hath
given
it
into
the
hand
of
the
king.`
13
And
the
messenger
who
hath
gone
to
call
Micaiah
hath
spoken
unto
him,
saying,
`Lo,
I
pray
thee,
the
words
of
the
prophets,
with
one
mouth,
are
good
towards
the
king;
let
it
be,
I
pray
thee,
thy
word
as
the
word
of
one
of
them
--
and
thou
hast
spoken
good.`
14
And
Micaiah
saith,
`Jehovah
liveth;
surely
that
which
Jehovah
saith
unto
me
--
it
I
speak.`
15
And
he
cometh
in
unto
the
king,
and
the
king
saith
unto
him,
`Micaiah,
do
we
go
unto
Ramoth-Gilead,
to
battle,
or
do
we
forbear?`
and
he
saith
unto
him,
`Go
up,
and
prosper,
and
Jehovah
hath
given
it
into
the
hand
of
the
king.`
16
And
the
king
saith
unto
him,
`How
many
times
am
I
adjuring
thee
that
thou
speak
nothing
unto
me
but
truth
in
the
name
of
Jehovah?`
17
And
he
saith,
`I
have
seen
all
Israel
scattered
on
the
hills
as
sheep
that
have
no
shepherd,
and
Jehovah
saith,
These
have
no
master;
they
turn
back
each
to
his
house
in
peace.`
18
And
the
king
of
Israel
saith
unto
Jehoshaphat,
`Have
I
not
said
unto
thee,
He
doth
not
prophesy
of
me
good,
but
evil?`
19
And
he
saith,
`Therefore,
hear
a
word
of
Jehovah;
I
have
seen
Jehovah
sitting
on
His
throne,
and
all
the
host
of
the
heavens
standing
by
Him,
on
His
right
and
on
His
left;
20
and
Jehovah
saith,
Who
doth
entice
Ahab,
and
he
doth
go
up
and
fall
in
Ramoth-Gilead?
and
this
one
saith
thus,
and
that
one
is
saying
thus.
21
`And
the
spirit
goeth
out,
and
standeth
before
Jehovah,
and
saith,
I
--
I
do
entice
him;
and
Jehovah
saith
unto
him,
By
what?
22
and
he
saith,
I
go
out,
and
have
been
a
spirit
of
falsehood
in
the
mouth
of
all
his
prophets;
and
He
saith,
Thou
dost
entice,
and
also
thou
art
able;
go
out
and
do
so.
23
And
now,
lo,
Jehovah
hath
put
a
spirit
of
falsehood
in
the
mouth
of
all
these
thy
prophets,
and
Jehovah
hath
spoken
concerning
thee
--
evil.`
24
And
Zedekiah
son
of
Chenaanah
draweth
nigh,
and
smiteth
Micaiah
on
the
cheek,
and
saith,
`Where
is
this
--
he
hath
passed
over
--
the
Spirit
of
Jehovah
--
from
me
to
speak
with
thee?`
25
And
Micaiah
saith,
`Lo,
thou
art
seeing
on
that
day,
when
thou
goest
in
to
the
innermost
chamber
to
be
hidden.`
26
And
the
king
of
Israel
saith,
`Take
Micaiah,
and
turn
him
back
unto
Amon
head
of
the
city,
and
unto
Joash
son
of
the
king,
27
and
thou
hast
said,
Thus
said
the
king,
Place
ye
this
one
in
the
house
of
restraint,
and
cause
him
to
eat
bread
of
oppression,
and
water
of
oppression,
till
my
coming
in
peace.`
28
And
Micaiah
saith,
`If
thou
at
all
return
in
peace
--
Jehovah
hath
not
spoken
by
me;`
and
he
saith,
`Hear,
O
peoples,
all
of
them.`
29
And
the
king
of
Israel
goeth
up,
and
Jehoshaphat
king
of
Judah,
to
Ramoth-Gilead.
30
And
the
king
of
Israel
saith
unto
Jehoshaphat
to
disguise
himself,
and
to
go
into
battle,
`And
thou,
put
on
thy
garments.`
And
the
king
of
Israel
disguiseth
himself,
and
goeth
into
battle.
31
And
the
king
of
Aram
commanded
the
heads
of
the
charioteers
whom
he
hath
--
thirty
and
two
--
saying,
`Ye
do
not
fight
with
small
or
with
great,
but
with
the
king
of
Israel
by
himself.`
32
And
it
cometh
to
pass,
at
the
heads
of
the
charioteers
seeing
Jehoshaphat,
that
they
said,
`He
is
only
the
king
of
Israel;`
and
they
turn
aside
to
him
to
fight,
and
Jehoshaphat
crieth
out,
33
and
it
cometh
to
pass,
at
the
heads
of
the
charioteers
seeing
that
he
is
not
the
king
of
Israel,
that
they
turn
back
from
after
him.
34
And
a
man
hath
drawn
with
a
bow,
in
his
simplicity,
and
smiteth
the
king
of
Israel
between
the
joinings
and
the
coat
of
mail,
and
he
saith
to
his
charioteer,
`Turn
thy
hand,
and
take
me
out
from
the
camp,
for
I
have
become
sick.`
35
And
the
battle
increaseth
on
that
day,
and
the
king
hath
been
caused
to
stand
in
the
chariot,
over-against
Aram,
and
he
dieth
in
the
evening,
and
the
blood
of
the
wound
runneth
out
unto
the
midst
of
the
chariot,
36
and
he
causeth
the
cry
to
pass
over
through
the
camp,
at
the
going
in
of
the
sun,
saying,
`Each
unto
his
city,
and
each
unto
his
land.`
37
And
the
king
dieth,
and
cometh
into
Samaria,
and
they
bury
the
king
in
Samaria;
38
and
one
rinseth
the
chariot
by
the
pool
of
Samaria,
and
the
dogs
lick
his
blood
--
when
the
armour
they
had
washed
--
according
to
the
word
of
Jehovah
that
He
spake.
39
And
the
rest
of
the
matters
of
Ahab,
and
all
that
he
did,
and
the
house

he
built,

he

up
a

48
Jehoshaphat
made
ships

Tarshish
to
go
to
Ophir
for
gold,
and
they
went
not,
for

there

the

of
Israel
called
an

and
said,
Fetch
quickly
Micaiah
the

And
the
messenger
that
went
to
call
Micaiah
spake
unto
him,
saying,
Behold
now,
the
words
of
the
prophets
declare
good
unto
the
king
with
one
mouth:
let
thy
word,
I
pray
thee,
be
like
the
word
of
one
of
them,
and
speak
thou
good.
14
And
Micaiah
said,
As
Jehovah
liveth,
what
Jehovah
saith
unto
me,
that
will
I
speak.
15
And
when
he
was
come
to
the
king,
the
king
said
unto
him,
Micaiah,
shall
we
go
to
Ramoth-gilead
to
battle,
or
shall
we

And
he
answered
him,
Go
up
and
prosper;
and
Jehovah

And
the
king
said
unto
him,
How

he
said,
I

Israel
scattered

the

as
sheep
that

Jehovah
said,
These

no

let
them
return
every
man
to
his
house
in
peace.

And
the
king
of
Israel
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
Did
I
not
tell
thee
that
he
would
not
prophesy
good
concerning
me,
but
evil?

And
Micaiah
said,
Therefore

on
his

20
And
Jehovah
said,
Who
shall
entice
Ahab,
that
he
may
go
up
and
fall
at
Ramoth-gilead?
And
one
said
on
this
manner;
and
another
said
on
that
manner.
21
And
there
came
forth
a
spirit,
and
stood
before
Jehovah,
and
said,
I
will
entice
him.
22
And
Jehovah
said
unto
him,
Wherewith?
And
he
said,
I
will
go
forth,
and
will
be
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouth
of
all
his
prophets.
And
he
said,
Thou
shalt
entice
him,
and
shalt
prevail
also:
go
forth,
and
do
so.
23
Now
therefore,
behold,
Jehovah
hath
put
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouth
of
all
these
thy
prophets;
and
Jehovah
hath
spoken
evil
concerning
thee.
24
Then
Zedekiah
the
son
of
Chenaanah
came
near,
and
smote
Micaiah

said,
Which
way
went
the

of
Jehovah
from
me
to

unto
thee?
25
And
Micaiah
said,
Behold,
thou
shalt
see
on
that
day,
when
thou
shalt
go
into
an
inner
chamber
to
hide
thyself.
26
And
the
king
of
Israel
said,
Take
Micaiah,
and
carry
him
back
unto
Amon
the
governor
of
the
city,
and
to
Joash
the
kings
son;
27
and
say,
Thus
saith
the
king,
Put
this
fellow
in
the
prison,
and
feed
him
with
bread
of
affliction
and
with
water
of
affliction,
until
I
come
in
peace.
28
And
Micaiah
said,
If
thou
return
at
all
in
peace,
Jehovah
hath
not
spoken
by
me.
And
he
said,
Hear,
ye
peoples,
all
of
you.
29
So
the
king
of
Israel
and
Jehoshaphat
the
king
of
Judah
went
up
to
Ramoth-gilead.
30
And
the
king
of
Israel
said
unto
Jehoshaphat,
I
will
disguise
myself,
and
go
into
the
battle;
but
put
thou
on
thy
robes.
And
the
king
of
Israel
disguised
himself,
and
went
into
the
battle.
31
Now
the
king
of
Syria
had
commanded
the
thirty
and
two
captains
of
his
chariots,
saying,
Fight
neither
with
small
nor
great,
save
only
with
the
king
of
Israel.
32
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
the
captains
of
the
chariots
saw
Jehoshaphat,
that
they
said,
Surely
it
is
the
king
of
Israel;
and
they
turned
aside
to
fight
against
him:
and
Jehoshaphat
cried
out.
33
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
the
captains
of
the
chariots
saw
that
it
was
not
the
king
of
Israel,
that
they
turned
back
from
pursuing
him.
34
And
a
certain
man
drew
his
bow
at
a
venture,
and
smote
the
king
of
Israel
between
the
joints
of
the
armor:
wherefore
he
said
unto
the
driver
of
his
chariot,
Turn
thy
hand,
and
carry
me
out
of
the
host;
for
I
am
sore
wounded.
35
And
the
battle
increased
that
day:
and
the
king
was
stayed
up
in
his
chariot
against
the
Syrians,
and
died
at
even;
and
the
blood
ran
out
of
the
wound
into
the
bottom
of
the
chariot.
36
And
there
went
a
cry
throughout
the
host
about
the
going
down
of
the
sun,
saying,
Every
man
to
his
city,
and
every
man
to
his
country.
37
So
the
king
died,
and
was
brought
to
Samaria;
and
they
buried
the
king
in
Samaria.
38
And
they
washed
the
chariot
by
the
pool
of
Samaria;
and
the
dogs
licked
up
his
blood
(now
the
harlots
washed
themselves
there);
according
unto
the
word
of
Jehovah
which
he
spake.
39
Now
the
rest
of
the
acts
of
Ahab,
and
all
that
he
did,
and
the
ivory
house
which
he
built,
and
all
the
cities
that
he
built,
are
they
not
written
in
the

40
So
Ahab
slept
with
his

and
Ahaziah
his

in
his

41
And
Jehoshaphat
the
son
of
Asa
began
to
reign
over
Judah
in
the

of
Ahab
king
of

42
Jehoshaphat
was
thirty
and
five

old
when
he
began
to
reign;
and
he
reigned
twenty
and
five
years
in
Jerusalem.
And
his
mothers
name
was
Azubah
the
daughter
of
Shilhi.
43
And
he
walked
in
all
the
way
of
Asa
his
father;
He
turned
not
aside
from
it,
doing
that
which
was

Jehovah:
howbeit
the

burnt

the

44
And
Jehoshaphat
made
peace
with
the
king
of
Israel.
45

And
there

48
Jehoshaphat

Ophir
for
gold:
but
they
went
not;
for
the
ships

49
Then
said
Ahaziah
the
son
of
Ahab
unto
Jehoshaphat,
Let
my

thy

But
Jehoshaphat
would
not.
50

They
continued
three
years
without
war
between
Syria
and
Israel.

It
happened
in
the
third
year,
that
Jehoshaphat
the
king
of
Judah
came
down
to
the
king
of
Israel.

The
king
of
Israel
said
to
his
servants,
"You
know
that
Ramoth-gilead
is
ours,
and
we
are
still,
and
don't
take
it
out
of
the
hand
of
the

of
Syria?"
4
He
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
Will
you
go
with
me
to
battle
to
Ramoth-gilead?
Jehoshaphat
said
to
the
king
of
Israel,
I
am
as
you
are,
my
people
as
your
people,
my
horses
as
your
horses.
5
Jehoshaphat
said
to
the
king
of
Israel,
Please
inquire
first
for
the
word
of
Yahweh.
6
Then
the
king
of
Israel
gathered
the
prophets
together,
about
four
hundred
men,
and
said
to
them,
Shall
I
go
against
Ramoth-gilead
to
battle,
or
shall
I
forbear?
They
said,
Go
up;
for
the
Lord
will
deliver
it
into
the
hand
of
the
king.
7
But
Jehoshaphat
said,
Isn't
there
here
a
prophet
of
Yahweh
besides,
that
we
may
inquire
of
him?
8
The
king
of
Israel
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
there
is
yet
one
man
by
whom
we
may
inquire
of
Yahweh,
Micaiah
the
son
of
Imlah:
but
I
hate
him;
for
he
does
not
prophesy
good
concerning
me,
but
evil.
Jehoshaphat
said,
"Don't
let
the
king
say
so."
9
Then
the
king
of
Israel
called
an
officer,
and
said,
Get
quickly
Micaiah
the
son
of
Imlah.
10
Now
the
king
of
Israel
and
Jehoshaphat
the
king
of
Judah
were
sitting
each
on
his
throne,
arrayed
in
their
robes,
in
an
open
place
at
the
entrance
of
the
gate
of
Samaria;
and
all
the
prophets
were
prophesying
before
them.
11
Zedekiah
the
son
of
Chenaanah
made
him
horns
of
iron,
and
said,
Thus
says
Yahweh,
With
these
shall
you
push
the
Syrians,
until
they
be
consumed.
12
All
the
prophets
prophesied
so,
saying,
Go
up
to
Ramoth-gilead,
and
prosper;
for
Yahweh
will
deliver
it
into
the
hand
of
the
king.
13
The
messenger
who
went
to
call
Micaiah
spoke
to
him,
saying,
See
now,
the
words
of
the
prophets
declare
good
to
the
king
with
one
mouth:
please
let
your
word
be
like
the
word
of
one
of
them,
and
speak
you
good.
14
Micaiah
said,
As
Yahweh
lives,
what
Yahweh
says
to
me,
that
will
I
speak.
15
When
he
was
come
to
the
king,
the
king
said
to
him,
Micaiah,
shall
we
go
to
Ramoth-gilead
to
battle,
or
shall
we
forbear?
He
answered
him,
Go
up
and
prosper;
and
Yahweh
will
deliver
it
into
the
hand
of
the
king.
16
The
king
said
to
him,
How
many
times
shall
I
adjure
you
that
you
speak
to
me
nothing
but
the
truth
in
the
name
of
Yahweh?
17
He
said,
I
saw
all
Israel
scattered
on
the
mountains,
as
sheep
that
have
no
shepherd:
and
Yahweh
said,
These
have
no
master;
let
them
return
every
man
to
his
house
in
peace.
18
The
king
of
Israel
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
Didn't
I
tell
you
that
he
would
not
prophesy
good
concerning
me,
but
evil?
19
Micaiah
said,
Therefore
hear
you
the
word
of
Yahweh:
I
saw
Yahweh
sitting
on
his
throne,
and
all
the
host
of
heaven
standing
by
him
on
his
right
hand
and
on
his
left.
20
Yahweh
said,
Who
shall
entice
Ahab,
that
he
may
go
up
and
fall
at
Ramoth-gilead?
One
said
on
this
manner;
and
another
said
on
that
manner.
21
There
came
forth
a
spirit,
and
stood
before
Yahweh,
and
said,
I
will
entice
him.
22
Yahweh
said
to
him,
'How?'
He
said,
'I
will
go
forth,
and
will
be
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouth
of
all
his
prophets.'
He
said,
'You
shall
entice
him,
and
shall
prevail
also:
go
forth,
and
do
so.'
23
Now
therefore,
behold,
Yahweh
has
put
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouth
of
all
these
your
prophets;
and
Yahweh
has
spoken
evil
concerning
you.
24
Then
Zedekiah
the
son
of
Chenaanah
came
near,
and
struck
Micaiah
on
the
cheek,
and
said,
Which
way
went
the
Spirit
of
Yahweh
from
me
to
speak
to
you?
25
Micaiah
said,
Behold,
you
shall
see
on
that
day,
when
you
shall
go
into
an
inner
chamber
to
hide
yourself.
26
The
king
of
Israel
said,
Take
Micaiah,
and
carry
him
back
to
Amon
the
governor
of
the
city,
and
to
Joash
the
king's
son;
27
and
say,
Thus
says
the
king,
Put
this
fellow
in
the
prison,
and
feed
him
with
bread
of
affliction
and
with
water
of
affliction,
until
I
come
in
peace.
28
Micaiah
said,
If
you
return
at
all
in
peace,
Yahweh
has
not
spoken
by
me.
He
said,
Hear,
you
peoples,
all
of
you.
29
So
the
king
of
Israel
and
Jehoshaphat
the
king
of
Judah
went
up
to
Ramoth-gilead.
30
The
king
of
Israel
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
I
will
disguise
myself,
and
go
into
the
battle;
but
put
you
on
your
robes.
The
king
of
Israel
disguised
himself,
and
went
into
the
battle.
31
Now
the
king
of
Syria
had
commanded
the
thirty-two
captains
of
his
chariots,
saying,
Fight
neither
with
small
nor
great,
save
only
with
the
king
of
Israel.
32
It
happened,
when
the
captains
of
the
chariots
saw
Jehoshaphat,
that
they
said,
Surely
it
is
the
king
of
Israel;
and
they
turned
aside
to
fight
against
him:
and
Jehoshaphat
cried
out.
33
It
happened,
when
the
captains
of
the
chariots
saw
that
it
was
not
the
king
of
Israel,
that
they
turned
back
from
pursuing
him.
34
A
certain
man
drew
his
bow
at
a
venture,
and
struck
the
king
of
Israel
between
the
joints
of
the
armor:
therefore
he
said
to
the
driver
of
his
chariot,
Turn
your
hand,
and
carry
me
out
of
the
host;
for
I
am
severely
wounded.
35
The
battle
increased
that
day:
and
the
king
was
stayed
up
in
his
chariot
against
the
Syrians,
and
died
at
even;
and
the
blood
ran
out
of
the
wound
into
the
bottom
of
the
chariot.
36
There
went
a

throughout

host
about
the
going
down
of
the
sun,
saying,
Every
man
to
his

and
every
man
to
his
country.
37
So
the
king
died,
and
was
brought
to
Samaria;
and
they
buried
the
king
in
Samaria.
38
They
washed
the
chariot
by
the
pool
of
Samaria;
and
the
dogs
licked
up
his
blood
(now
the
prostitutes
washed
themselves
there);
according
to
the
word
of
Yahweh
which
he
spoke.
39
Now
the
rest

Ahab,

So

a

one

Let
not

the

saying,
Behold
now,
the
words
of
the
prophets
{cf15i
declare}
good
unto
the
king
with
one
mouth:
let
thy
word,
I
pray
thee,
be
like
the
word
of
one
of
them,
and
speak
thou
good.
14
And
Micaiah
said,
As
the

what
the

when
he
was
come
to
the
king,
the

unto
him,
Micaiah,

he
answered
him,
Go

and
the
LORD

And
the
king
said
unto
him,
How
many
times
shall
I
adjure
thee
that
thou
speak
unto
me
nothing
but
the
truth
in
the
name
of
the
LORD?
17
And
he
said,
I
saw
all
Israel
scattered
upon
the
mountains,
as
sheep
that
have
no
shepherd:
and
the
LORD
said,
These
have
no
master;
let
them
return
every
man
to
his
house
in
peace.
18
And
the
king
of
Israel
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
Did
I
not
tell
thee
that
he
would
not
prophesy
good
concerning
me,
but
evil?
19
And
he
said,
Therefore
hear
thou
the
word
of
the
LORD:
I
saw
the
LORD
sitting
on
his
throne,
and
all
the
host
of
heaven
standing
by
him
on
his
right
hand
and
on
his
left.
20
And
the
LORD
said,
Who
shall
entice
Ahab,
that
he
may
go
up
and
fall
at
Ramothgilead?
And
one
said
on
this
manner;
and
another
said
on
that
manner.
21
And
there
came
forth
a
spirit,
and
stood
before
the
LORD,
and
said,
I
will
entice
him.
22
And
the
LORD
said
unto
him,
Wherewith?
And
he
said,
I
will
go
forth,
and
will
be
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouth
of
all
his
prophets.
And
he
said,
Thou
shalt
entice
him,
and
shalt
prevail
also:
go
forth,
and
do
so.
23
Now
therefore,
behold,
the
LORD
hath
put
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouth
of
all
these
thy
prophets;
and
the
LORD
hath
spoken
evil
concerning
thee.
24
Then
Zedekiah
the
son
of
Chenaanah
came
near,
and
smote
Micaiah
on
the
cheek,
and
said,
Which
way
went
the
spirit
of
the
LORD
from
me
to
speak
unto
thee?
25
And
Micaiah
said,
Behold,
thou
shalt
see
on
that
day,
when
thou
shalt
go
into
an
inner
chamber
to
hide
thyself.
26
And
the
king
of
Israel
said,
Take
Micaiah,
and
carry
him
back
unto
Amon
the
governor
of
the
city,
and
to
Joash
the
kings
son;
27
and
say,
Thus
saith
the
king,
Put
this
fellow
in
the
prison,
and
feed
him
with
bread
of
affliction
and
with
water
of
affliction,
until
I
come
in
peace.
28
And
Micaiah
said,
If
thou
return
at
all
in
peace,
the
LORD
hath
not
spoken
by
me.
And
he
said,
Hear,
ye
peoples,
all
of
you.
29
So
the
king
of
Israel
and
Jehoshaphat
the
king
of
Judah
went
up
to
Ramothgilead.
30
And
the
king
of
Israel
said
unto
Jehoshaphat,
I
will
disguise
myself,
and
go
into
the
battle;
but
put
thou
on
thy
robes.
And
the
king
of
Israel
disguised
himself,
and
went
into
the
battle.
31
Now
the
king
of
Syria
had
commanded
the
thirty
and
two
captains
of
his
chariots,
saying,
Fight
neither
with
small
nor
great,
save
only
with
the
king
of
Israel.
32
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
the
captains
of
the
chariots
saw
Jehoshaphat,
that
they
said,
Surely
it
is
the
king
of
Israel;
and
they
turned
aside
to
fight
against
him:
and
Jehoshaphat
cried
out.
33
And
it
came
to
pass,
when
the
captains
of
the
chariots
saw
that
it
was
not
the
king
of
Israel,
that
they
turned
back
from
pursuing
him.
34
And
a
certain
man
drew
his
bow
at
a
venture,
and
smote
the
king
of
Israel
between
the
joints
of
the
harness:
wherefore
he
said
unto
the
driver
of
his
chariot,
Turn
thine
hand,
and
carry
me
out
of
the
host;
for
I
am
sore
wounded.
35
And
the
battle
increased
that
day:
and
the
king
was
stayed
up
in
his
chariot
against
the
Syrians,
and
died
at
even:
and
the
blood
ran
out
of
the
wound
into
the
bottom
of
the
chariot.
36
And
there
went
a
cry
throughout
the
host
about
the
going
down
of
the
sun,
saying,
Every
man
to
his
city,
and
every
man
to
his
country.
37
So
the
king
died,
and
was
brought
to
Samaria;
and
they
buried
the
king
in
Samaria.
38
And
they
washed
the
chariot
by
the
pool
of
Samaria;
and
the
dogs
licked
up
his
blood;
(now
the
harlots
washed
themselves
{cf15i
there};)
according
unto
the
word
of
the
LORD
which
he
spake.
39
Now
the
rest
of
the
acts
of
Ahab,
and
all
that
he
did,
and
the
ivory
house
which
he
built,
and
all
the
cities
that
he
built,
are
they
not
written
in
the
book
of
the
chronicles
of
the
kings
of
Israel?
40
So
Ahab
slept
with
his
fathers;
and
Ahaziah
his
son
reigned
in
his
stead.
41
And
Jehoshaphat
the
son
of
Asa
began
to
reign
over
Judah
in
the
fourth
year
of
Ahab
king
of
Israel.
42
Jehoshaphat
was
thirty
and
five
years
old
when
he
began
to
reign;
and
he
reigned
twenty
and
five
years
in
Jerusalem.
And
his
mothers
name
was
Azubah
the
daughter
of
Shilhi.
43
And
he
walked
in
all
the
way
of
Asa
his
father;
he
turned
not
aside
from
it,
doing
that
which
was
right
in
the
eyes
of
the
LORD:
howbeit
the
high
places
were
not
taken
away;
the
people
still
sacrificed
and
burnt
incense
in
the
high
places.
44
And
Jehoshaphat
made
peace
with
the
king
of
Israel.
45
Now
the
rest
of
the
acts
of
Jehoshaphat,
and
his
might
that
he
shewed,
and
how
he
warred,
are
they
not
written
in
the
book
of
the
chronicles
of
the
kings
of
Judah?
46
And
the
remnant
of
the
sodomites,
which
remained
in
the
days
of
his
father
Asa,
he
put
away
out
of
the
land.
47
And
there
was
no
king
in
Edom:
a
deputy
was
king.
48
Jehoshaphat
made
ships
of
Tarshish
to
go
to
Ophir
for
gold:
but
they
went
not;
for
the
ships
were
broken
at
Eziongeber.
49
Then
said
Ahaziah
the
son
of
Ahab
unto
Jehoshaphat,
Let
my
servants
go
with
thy
servants
in
the
ships.
But
Jehoshaphat
would
not.
50
And
Jehoshaphat
slept
with
his
fathers,
and
was
buried
with
his
fathers
in
the
city
of
David
his
father:
and
Jehoram
his
son
reigned
in
his
stead.
51
Ahaziah

son
of

began

of

two
years

52
And
he
did
that
which
was
evil
in
the
sight
of
the
LORD,
and
walked
in
the
way
of
his
father,
and
in
the
way
of
his
mother,
and
in
the
way
of
Jeroboam
the
son
of
Nebat,
wherein
he
made
Israel
to
sin.
53
And
he
served
Baal,
and
worshipped
him,
and
provoked
to
anger
the
LORD,
the

of
Israel,
according

all
that
his
father
had
done.
Isaiah 29:10
10

the

1
There
was
no
war
between
Syria
and
Israel
for
three
years.
2
In
the
third
year
King
Jehoshaphat
of
Judah
came
down
to
visit
the
king
of
Israel.
3
The
king
of
Israel
said
to
his
servants,
"Surely
you
recognize
that
Ramoth
Gilead
belongs
to
us,
though
we
are
hesitant
to
reclaim
it
from
the
king
of
Syria."
4
Then
he
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
"Will
you
go
with
me
to
attack
Ramoth
Gilead?"
Jehoshaphat
replied
to
the
king
of
Israel,
"I
will
support
you;
my
army
and
horses
are
at
your
disposal."
5
Then
Jehoshaphat
added,
"First
seek
an
oracle
from
the
LORD."
6
So
the
king
of
Israel
assembled
about
four
hundred
prophets
and
asked
them,
"Should
I
attack
Ramoth
Gilead
or
not?"
They
said,
"Attack!
The
sovereign
one
will
hand
it
over
to
the
king."
7
But
Jehoshaphat
asked,
"Is
there
not
a
prophet
of
the
LORD
still
here,
that
we
may
ask
him?"
8
The
king
of
Israel
answered
Jehoshaphat,
"There
is
still
one
man
through
whom
we
can
seek
the
LORD's
will.
But
I
despise
him
because
he
does
not
prophesy
prosperity
for
me,
but
disaster.
His
name
is
Micaiah
son
of
Imlah.
Jehoshaphat
said,
"The
king
should
not
say
such
things."
9
The
king
of
Israel
summoned
an
official
and
said,
"Quickly
bring
Micaiah
son
of
Imlah."
10
Now
the
king
of
Israel
and
King
Jehoshaphat
of
Judah
were
sitting
on
their
respective
thrones,
dressed
in
their
robes,
at
the
threshing
floor
at
the
entrance
of
the
gate
of
Samaria.
All
the
prophets
were
prophesying
before
them.
11
Zedekiah
son
of
Kenaanah
made
iron
horns
and
said,
"This
is
what
the
LORD
says,
'With
these
you
will
gore
Syria
until
they
are
destroyed.'"
12
All
the
prophets
were
prophesying
the
same,
saying,
"Attack
Ramoth
Gilead!
You
will
succeed;
the
LORD
will
hand
it
over
to
the
king."
13
Now
the
messenger
who
went
to
summon
Micaiah
said
to
him,
"Look,
the
prophets
are
in
complete
agreement
that
the
king
will
succeed.
Your
words
must
agree
with
theirs;
you
must
predict
success."
14
But
Micaiah
said,
"As
certainly
as
the
LORD
lives,
I
will
say
what
the
LORD
tells
me
to
say."
15
When
he
came
before
the
king,
the
king
asked
him,
"Micaiah,
should
we

Ramoth
Gilead
or
not?"
He
answered
him,
"Attack!
You
will
succeed;
the
LORD
will
hand
it
over
to
the

16
The
king
said
to
him,
"How
many
times
must
I
make
you
solemnly
promise
in
the
name
of
the
LORD
to

me
only
the
truth?"
17

Jehoshaphat,
"Didn't

19
Micaiah
said,
"That
being
the

I

sitting
on
his

20
The

'Who

deceive
Ahab,
so

One
said
this
and
another
that.
21
Then
a
spirit
stepped
forward
and
stood
before
the
LORD.
He
said,
'I
will
deceive
him.'
The
LORD
asked
him,
'How?'
22
He
replied,
'I
will
go
out
and
be
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouths
of
all
his
prophets.'
The
LORD
said,
'Deceive
and
overpower
him.
Go
out
and
do
as
you
have
proposed.'
23
So
now,
look,
the
LORD
has
placed
a
lying
spirit
in
the
mouths
of
all
these
prophets
of
yours;
but
the
LORD
has
decreed
disaster
for
you."

of
Kenaanah
approached,
hit
Micaiah
on
the
jaw,
and
said,
"Which
way
did
the
LORD's
spirit
go
when
he
went
from
me
to
speak
to
you?"
25
Micaiah
replied,
"Look,
you
will
see
in
the
day
when
you
go
into
an
inner
room
to
hide."
26
Then
the
king
of
Israel
said,
"Take
Micaiah
and
return
him
to
Amon
the
city
official
and
Joash
the
king's
son.
27
Say,
'This
is
what
the
king
says,
"Put
this
man
in
prison.
Give
him
only
a
little
bread
and
water
until
I
safely
return."'"
28
Micaiah
said,
"If
you
really
do
safely
return,
then
the
LORD
has
not
spoken
through
me."
Then
he
added,
"Take
note,
all
you
people."
29
The
king
of
Israel
and
King
Jehoshaphat
of
Judah
attacked
Ramoth
Gilead.
30
The
king
of
Israel
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
"I
will
disguise
myself
and
then
enter
into
the
battle;
but
you
wear
your
royal
robes."
So
the
king
of
Israel
disguised
himself
and
then
entered
into
the
battle.
31
Now
the
king
of
Syria
had
ordered
his
thirty-two
chariot
commanders,
"Do
not
fight
common
soldiers
or
high-ranking
officers;
fight
only
the
king
of
Israel."
32
When
the
chariot
commanders
saw
Jehoshaphat,
they
said,
"He
must
be
the
king
of
Israel."
So
they
turned
and
attacked
him,
but
Jehoshaphat
cried
out.
33
When
the
chariot
commanders
realized
he
was
not
the
king
of
Israel,
they
turned
away
from
him.
34
Now
an
archer
shot
an
arrow
at
random,
and
it
struck
the
king
of
Israel
between
the
plates
of
his
armor.
The
king
ordered
his
charioteer,
"Turn
around
and
take
me
from
the
battle
line,
because
I'm
wounded."
35
While
the
battle
raged
throughout
the
day,
the
king
stood
propped
up
in
his
chariot
opposite
the
Syrians.
He
died
in
the
evening;
the
blood
from
the
wound
ran
down
into
the
bottom
of
the
chariot.
36
As
the
sun
was
setting,
a
cry
went
through
the
camp,
"Each
one
should
return
to
his
city
and
to
his
homeland."
37
So
the
king
died
and
was
taken
to
Samaria,
where
they
buried
him.
38
They
washed
off
the
chariot
at
the
pool
of
Samaria
(this
was
where
the
prostitutes
bathed);
dogs
licked
his
blood,
just
as
the
LORD
had
said
would
happen.

Ahab's
reign,

a

of
his
accomplishments
and
how
he
built
a
luxurious
palace
and
various
cities,
are
recorded
in
the
scroll
called
the
Annals
of
the
Kings
of
Israel.
40
Ahab
passed
away.
His
son
Ahaziah
replaced
him
as
king.
41
In
the
fourth
year
of
King
Ahab's
reign
over
Israel,
Asa's
son
Jehoshaphat
became
king
over
Judah.
42
Jehoshaphat
was
thirty-five
years
old
when
he
became
king
and
he
reigned
for
twenty-five
years
in
Jerusalem.
His
mother
was
Azubah,
the
daughter
of
Shilhi.
43
He
followed
in
his
father
Asa's
footsteps
and
was
careful
to
do
what
the
LORD
approved.
However,
the
high
places
were
not
eliminated;
the
people
continued
to
offer
sacrifices
and
burn
incense
on
the
high
places.
44
Jehoshaphat
was
also
at
peace
with
the
king
of
Israel.
45
The
rest
of
the
events
of
Jehoshaphat's
reign,
including
his
successes
and
military
exploits,
are
recorded
in
the
scroll
called
the
Annals
of
the
Kings
of
Judah.
46
He
removed
from
the
land
any
male
cultic
prostitutes
who
had
managed
to
survive
the
reign
of
his
father
Asa.
47
There
was
no
king
in
Edom
at
this
time;
a
governor
ruled.
48
Jehoshaphat
built
a
fleet
of
large
merchant
ships
to
travel
to
Ophir
for
gold,
but
they
never
made
the
voyage
because
they
were
shipwrecked
in
Ezion
Geber.
49
Then
Ahaziah
son
of
Ahab
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
"Let
my
sailors
join
yours
in
the
fleet,"
but
Jehoshaphat
refused.
50
Jehoshaphat
passed
away
and
was
buried
with
his
ancestors
in
the
city
of
his
ancestor
David.
His
son
Jehoram
replaced
him
as
king.
51
In
the
seventeenth
year
of
King
Jehoshaphat's
reign
over
Judah,
Ahab's
son
Ahaziah
became
king
over
Israel
in
Samaria.
He
ruled
for
two
years
over
Israel.
52
He
did
evil
in
the
sight
of
the
LORD
and
followed
in
the
footsteps
of
his
father
and
mother;
like
Jeroboam
son
of
Nebat,
he
encouraged
Israel
to
sin.
53
He
worshiped
and
bowed
down
to
Baal,
angering
the
LORD
God
of
Israel
just
as
his
father
had
done.
Isaiah 29:10
10
For
the
LORD
has
poured
out
on
you
a
strong
urge
to
sleep
deeply.
He
has
shut
your
eyes
(the
prophets),
and
covered
your
heads
(the
seers).
Revelation 14:14
14
Then
I
looked,
and
a
white
cloud
appeared,
and
seated
on
the
cloud
was
one
like
a
son
of
man!
He
had
a
golden
crown
on
his
head
and
a
sharp
sickle
in
his
hand.

1
For
the
next
two
years
there
was
peace
between
Israel
and
Aram.
2
Then
during
the
third
year,
King
Jehoshaphat
of
Judah
went
to
visit
King
Ahab
of
Israel.
3
Ahab
asked
his
officials,
"Remember
when
the
king
of
Aram
took
Ramoth
Gilead
from
us?
That
city
is
ours,
so
why
have
we
done
nothing
to
get
it
back?"
4
So
Ahab
asked
King
Jehoshaphat,
"Will
you
join
with
us
to
go
fight
the
Arameans
at
Ramoth
Gilead?"
Jehoshaphat
answered,
"Yes,
you
and
I
will
be
as
onemy
men
and
my
horses
will
be
as
yours.
5
But
first
let's
ask
the
Lord
for
advice."
6
So
Ahab
called
a
meeting
of
the
prophets.
There
were
about
400
prophets
at
that
time.
Ahab
asked
the
prophets,
"Should
I
go
and
attack
the
Arameans
at
Ramoth
Gilead
or
not?"
The
prophets
answered
Ahab,
"Yes,
because
the
Lord
will
let
you
defeat
Ramoth
Gilead."
7
But
Jehoshaphat
said,
"Doesn't
the
Lord
have
another
prophet
here?
Let's
ask
him
what
God
says."
8
King
Ahab
answered,
"Yes,
there
is
another
prophet.
His
name
is
Micaiah
son
of
Imlah.
But
I
hate
him
because
he
will
not
say
anything
good
about
me
when
he
speaks
for
the
Lord.
He
always
says
things
that
I
don't
like."
Jehoshaphat
said,
"The
king
should
not
say
that!"
9
So
King
Ahab
told
one
of
his
officers
to
go
and
find
Micaiah.
10
At
that
time
the
two
kings
were
sitting
on
their
thrones,
with
their
royal
robes
on,
at
the
judgment
place
near
the
gates
of
Samaria.
All
the
prophets
were
standing
before
them,
prophesying.
11
One
of
the
prophets
was
named
Zedekiah
son
of
Kenaanah.
Zedekiah
made
some
iron
horns
and
said
to
Ahab,
"The
Lord
says,
'You
will
use
these
iron
horns
to
fight
against
the
army
of
Aram.
You
will
defeat
them
and
destroy
them.'"
12
All
the
other
prophets
agreed
with
Zedekiah
and
said,
"Your
army
should
march
now
to
go
fight
against
the
Arameans
at
Ramoth
Gilead.
You
will
win
the
battle.
The
Lord
will
let
you
defeat
them."
13
While
this
was
happening,
the
officer
went
to
find
Micaiah.
When
he
found
him,
the
officer
told
him,
"All
the
other
prophets
have
said
that
the
king
will
succeed,
so
you
should
say
the
same
thing."
14
But
Micaiah
answered,
"As
surely
as
the
Lord
lives,
I
can
say
only
what
the
Lord
says."
15
Micaiah
went
and
stood
before
King
Ahab.
The
king
asked
him,
"Micaiah,
should
we
go
and
attack
the
Arameans
at
Ramoth
Gilead
or
not?"
Micaiah
answered,
"Yes,
go
and
be
successful!
The
Lord
will
let
you
take
the
city."
16
But
Ahab
answered,
"How
many
times
do
I
have
to
tell
you?
Tell
me
the
truth.
What
does
the
Lord
say!"
17
So
Micaiah
answered,
"I
can
see
the
army
of
Israel
scattered
all
over
the
hills,
like
sheep
with
no
one
to
lead
them.
This
is
what
the
Lord
says,
'These
men
have
no
leaders.
Let
them
go
home
in
peace.'"
18
Then
Ahab
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
"See,
I
told
you!
This
prophet
never
says
anything
good
about
me.
He
always
says
something
bad."
19
But
Micaiah
said,
"Listen
to
this
message
from
the
Lord:
I
saw
the
Lord
sitting
on
his
throne.
All
of
heaven's
army
was
standing
around
him,
some
on
his
left
side
and
some
on
his
right
side.
20
The
Lord
said,
'Which
of
you
will
go
fool
Ahab
into
attacking
the
Arameans
at
Ramoth
Gilead
so
that
he
will
be
killed?'
The
angels
discussed
many
different
plans.
21
Then
a
spirit
went
and
stood
before
the
Lord
and
said,
'I
will
fool
him!'
The
Lord
asked,
'How
will
you
do
it?'
22
The
angel
answered,
'I
will
go
out
and
become
a
spirit
of
lies
in
the
mouths
of
Ahab's
prophetsthey
will
all
speak
lies.'
So
the
Lord
said,
'Yes,
that
will
fool
Ahab.
Go
out
and
do
that.'"
23
"So
that
is
what
has
happened
here.
The
Lord
made
your
prophets
lie
to
you.
The
Lord
himself
decided
to
bring
this
disaster
to
you."
24
Then
the
prophet
Zedekiah
went
to
Micaiah
and
hit
him
on
the
face.
Zedekiah
said,
"How
is
it
that
the
Spirit
of
the
Lord
left
me
to
speak
through
you?"
25
Micaiah
answered,
"Look,
what
I
said
will
happen!
And
when
you
see
it,
you
will
go
into
the
deepest
part
of
your
house
to
hide."
26
Then
King
Ahab
ordered
one
of
his
officers
to
arrest
Micaiah.
Ahab
said,
"Arrest
him
and
take
him
to
Amon
the
governor
of
the
city
and
prince
Joash.
27
Tell
them
to
put
Micaiah
in
prison.
Give
him
nothing
but
bread
and
water
to
eat.
Keep
him
there
until
I
come
home
from
the
battle."
28
Micaiah
said,
"Listen
to
me,
everyone!
Ahab,
if
you
come
back
alive
from
the
battle,
the
Lord
has
not
spoken
through
me."
29
King
Ahab
of
Israel
and
King
Jehoshaphat
of
Judah
went
to
fight
the
Arameans
at
Ramoth
Gilead.
30
Ahab
said
to
Jehoshaphat,
"Disguise
yourself
when
you
go
into
battle,
but
wear
your
own
clothes.
And
I
will
disguise
myself."
The
king
of
Israel
went
into
battle
dressed
like
an
ordinary
soldier.
31
The
king
of
Aram
had
32
chariot
commanders.
He
gave
them
this
command,
"Don't
go
after
anyone
except
the
king
of
Israel,
no
matter
how
important
they
are."
32
When
the
commanders
saw
King
Jehoshaphat,
they
thought
he
was
the
king
of
Israel,
and
so
they
went
to
kill
him.
Jehoshaphat
started
shouting.
33
When
the
commanders
saw
that
he
was
not
King
Ahab,
they
stopped
chasing
him.
34
Then
a
soldier
in
the
distance
pulled
back
as
far
as
he
could
on
his
bow
and
shot
an
arrow
into
the
air.
The
arrow
happened
to
hit
the
king
of
Israel
in
a
small
hole
where
his
armor
was
fastened
together.
King
Ahab
said
to
his
chariot
driver,
"I've
been
hit!
Turn
the
chariot
around
and
take
me
off
the
battlefield!"
35
The
armies
continued
to
fight
while
King
Ahab
was
propped
up
in
his
chariot.
He
was
leaning
against
the
sides
of
the
chariot,
looking
out
toward
the
Arameans.
His
blood
ran
down
onto
the
floor
of
the
chariot.
Later
in
the
evening,
he
died.
36
At
sunset
all
the
Israelites
cheered
when
they
were
told
to
go
home.
So
they
all
went
back
to
their
hometowns.
37
And
that
is
how
King
Ahab
died.
Some
men
carried
his
body
to
Samaria
and
buried
him
there.
38
They
took
his
chariot
to
the
large
pool
in
Samaria
to
clean
it.
The
dogs
licked
up
Ahab's
blood
while
the
prostitutes
washed
the
chariot.
This
happened
just
as
the
Lord
said
it
would.
39
The
rest
of
what
King
Ahab
did
during
the
time
he
ruled
is
written
in
the
book,
The
History
of
the
Kings
of
Israel.
That
book
tells
about
all
the
cities
he
built
and
about
all
the
ivory
that
he
used
to
decorate
his
palace.
40
Ahab
died
and
was
buried
with
his
ancestors.
His
son
Ahaziah
became
the
next
king
after
him.
41
Jehoshaphat
son
of
Asa
became
the
king
of
Judah
in
Ahab's
fourth
year
as
king
of
Israel.
42
Jehoshaphat
was
35
years
old
when
he
became
king,
and
he
ruled
in
Jerusalem
for
25
years.
His
mother
was
Azubah,
the
daughter
of
Shilhi.
43
Like
his
father
Asa,
Jehoshaphat
was
good
and
did
everything
that
the
Lord
wanted,
but
he
did
not
destroy
the
high
places.
The
people
continued
offering
sacrifices
and
burning
incense
there.
44
Jehoshaphat
made
a
peace
agreement
with
the
king
of
Israel.
45
Jehoshaphat
was
very
brave
and
fought
many
wars.
The
rest
of
what
he
did
is
written
in
the
book,
The
History
of
the
Kings
of
Judah.
46
Jehoshaphat
forced
all
the
men
and
women
who
sold
their
bodies
for
sex
to
leave
the
places
of
worship.
They
had
served
in
these
places
of
worship
while
his
father
Asa
was
king.
47
In
those
days
Edom
did
not
have
a
king;
it
was
ruled
by
a
governor
who
was
chosen
by
the
king
of
Judah.
48
King
Jehoshaphat
built
some
cargo
ships.
He
wanted
the
ships
to
sail
to
Ophir
for
gold,
but
they
never
went
therethey
were
destroyed
in
their
home
port
at
Ezion
Geber.
49
Then
King
Ahaziah
of
Israel
offered
to
put
some
of
his
own
sailors
with
Jehoshaphat's
men
on
the
ships,
but
Jehoshaphat
refused
to
accept
his
help.
50
Jehoshaphat
died
and
was
buried
with
his
ancestors
in
the
City
of
David.
Then
his
son
Jehoram
became
the
next
king.
51
Ahaziah
was
the
son
of
Ahab.
He
became
king
of
Israel
during
the
17
year
that
King
Jehoshaphat
ruled
Judah.
Ahaziah
ruled
in
Samaria
for
two
years.
52
He
sinned
against
the
Lord
just
as
his
parents,
Ahab
and
Jezebel,
did.
He
caused
Israel
to
sin
just
as
Jeroboam
son
of
Nabat
did.
53
Ahaziah
served
the
false
god
Baal
and
worshiped
him,
just
as
his
father
did
before
him.
He
did
all
the
things
that
his
father
did
to
make
the
Lord,
the
God
of
Israel,
angry.
Isaiah 29:10
10
The
Lord
will
make
you
sleepy.
He
will
close
your
eyes.
(The
prophets
are
your
eyes.)
He
will
cover
your
heads.
(The
prophets
are
your
heads.)
Revelation 14:14
14
I
looked
and
there
before
me,
sitting
on
a
white
cloud,

one
who
looked
like
the
Son
of
Man.
He
had
a
gold
crown
on
his
head
and
a
sharp
sickle
in
his
hand.
