1 John 4:8 (ERVEN) Easy to Read - English

1 My dear friends, many false prophets are in the world now. So don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God.
2 This is how you can recognize God's Spirit. One spirit says, "I believe that Jesus is the Christ who came to earth and became a man." That Spirit is from God.
3 Another spirit refuses to say this about Jesus. That spirit is not from God. This is the spirit of the enemy of Christ. You have heard that the enemy of Christ is coming, and now he is already in the world.
4 My dear children, you belong to God, so you have already defeated these false prophets. That's because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
5 And they belong to the world, so what they say is from the world too. And the world listens to what they say.
6 But we are from God. So the people who know God listen to us. But the people who are not from God don't listen to us. That is how we know the Spirit that is true and the spirit that is false.
7 Dear friends, we should love each other, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has become God's child. And so everyone who loves knows God.
8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9 This is how God showed his love to us: He sent his only Son into the world to give us life through him.
10 True love is God's love for us, not our love for God. He sent his Son as the way to take away our sins.
11 That is how much God loved us, dear friends! So we also must love each other.
12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us. If we love each other, God's love has reached its goal—it is made perfect in us.
13 We know that we live in God and God lives in us. We know this because he gave us his Spirit.
14 We have seen that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world, and this is what we tell people now.
15 If someone says, "I believe that Jesus is the Son of God," then God lives in them, and they live in God.
16 So we know the love that God has for us, and we trust that love. God is love. Everyone who lives in love lives in God, and God lives in them.
17 If God's love is made perfect in us, we can be without fear on the day when God judges the world. We will be without fear, because in this world we are like Jesus.
18 Where God's love is, there is no fear, because God's perfect love takes away fear. It is his punishment that makes a person fear. So his love is not made perfect in the one who has fear.
19 We love because God first loved us.
20 If we say we love God but hate any of our brothers or sisters in his family, we are liars. If we don't love someone we have seen, how can we love God? We have never even seen him.
21 God gave us this command: If we love God, we must also love each other as brothers and sisters.

2 Hereby G1722 PREP know G1097 V-PPI-3S ye G3588 T-ASN the G3588 T-ASN Spirit G4151 N-ASN of God G2316 N-GSM : Every G3956 A-NSN spirit G4151 N-NSN that G3739 R-NSN confesseth G3670 V-PAI-3S that Jesus G2424 N-ASM Christ G5547 N-ASM is come G2064 V-2RAP-ASM in G1722 PREP the flesh G4561 N-DSF is G2076 V-PXI-3S of G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM :
3 And G2532 CONJ every G3956 A-NSN spirit G4151 N-NSN that G3739 R-NSN confesseth G3670 V-PAI-3S not G3361 PRT-N that Jesus G2424 N-ASM Christ G5547 N-ASM is come G2064 V-2RAP-ASM in G1722 PREP the flesh G4561 N-DSF is G2076 V-PXI-3S not G3756 PRT-N of G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM : and G2532 CONJ this G5124 D-NSN is G2076 V-PXI-3S that G3588 T-GSM spirit of antichrist G500 N-GSM , whereof G3739 R-NSN ye have heard G191 V-2RAI-2P that G3754 CONJ it should come G2064 V-PNI-3S ; and G2532 CONJ even now G3568 ADV already G2235 ADV is G2076 V-PXI-3S it in G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSM world G2889 N-DSM .
4 Ye G5210 P-2NP are G2075 V-PXI-2P of G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM , little children G5040 N-VPN , and G2532 CONJ have overcome G3528 V-RAI-2P them G846 P-APM : because G3754 CONJ greater G3187 A-NSM-C is G2076 V-PXI-3S he G3588 T-NSM that is in G1722 PREP you G5213 P-2DP , than G2228 PRT he G3588 T-NSM that is in G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSM world G2889 N-DSM .
5 They G846 P-NPM are G1526 V-PXI-3P of G1537 PREP the G3588 T-GSM world G2889 N-GSM : therefore G1223 PREP speak G2980 V-PAI-3P they of G1537 PREP the G3588 T-GSM world G2889 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM world G2889 N-NSM heareth G191 V-PAI-3S them G846 P-GPM .
6 We G2249 P-1NP are G2070 V-PXI-1P of G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM : he G3588 T-ASM that G3588 T-ASM knoweth G1097 V-PAP-NSM God G2316 N-ASM heareth G191 V-PAI-3S us G2257 P-1GP ; he that G3739 R-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S not G3756 PRT-N of G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM heareth G191 V-PAI-3S not G3756 PRT-N us G2257 P-1GP . Hereby G1537 PREP know G1097 V-PAI-1P we G3588 T-ASN the G3588 T-ASN spirit G4151 N-ASN of truth G225 N-GSF , and G2532 CONJ the G3588 T-ASN spirit G4151 N-ASN of error G4106 N-GSF .
7 Beloved G27 A-VPM , let us love G25 V-PAS-1P one another G240 C-APM : for G3588 T-NSF love G26 N-NSF is G2076 V-PXI-3S of G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM ; and G2532 CONJ every one G3956 A-NSM that loveth G25 V-PAP-NSM is born G1080 V-RPI-3S of G3588 T-GSM God G2316 N-GSM , and G2532 CONJ knoweth G1097 V-PAI-3S God G2316 N-ASM .
8 He G3588 T-NSM that G3588 T-NSM loveth G25 V-PAP-NSM not G3361 PRT-N knoweth G1097 V-2AAI-3S not G3756 PRT-N God G2316 N-ASM ; for G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S love G26 N-NSF .
9 In G1722 PREP this G5129 D-DSN was manifested G5319 V-API-3S the G3588 T-NSF love G26 N-NSF of God G2316 N-GSM toward G1722 PREP us G2254 P-1DP , because G3754 CONJ that God G2316 N-NSM sent G649 V-RAI-3S his G3588 T-ASM only begotten G3439 A-ASM Son G5207 N-ASM into G1519 PREP the G3588 T-ASM world G2889 N-ASM , that G2443 CONJ we might live G2198 V-AAS-1P through G1223 PREP him G846 P-GSM .
10 Herein G1722 PREP is G2076 V-PXI-3S love G26 N-NSF , not G3756 PRT-N that G3754 CONJ we G2249 P-1NP loved G25 V-AAI-1P God G2316 N-ASM , but G235 CONJ that G3754 CONJ he G846 P-NSM loved G25 V-AAI-3S us G2248 P-1AP , and G2532 CONJ sent G649 V-AAI-3S his G3588 T-ASM Son G5207 N-ASM to be the propitiation G2434 N-ASM for G4012 PREP our G3588 T-GPF sins G266 N-GPF .
11 Beloved G27 A-VPM , if G1487 COND God G2316 N-NSM so G3779 ADV loved G25 V-AAI-3S us G2248 P-1AP , we G2249 P-1NP ought G3784 V-PAI-1P also G2532 CONJ to love G25 V-PAN one another G240 C-APM .
12 No man G3762 A-NSM hath seen G2300 V-RNI-3S God G2316 N-ASM at any time G4455 ADV . If G1437 COND we love G25 V-PAS-1P one another G240 C-APM , God G2316 N-NSM dwelleth G3306 V-PAI-3S in G1722 PREP us G2254 P-1DP , and G2532 CONJ his G3588 T-NSF love G26 N-NSF is G2076 V-PXI-3S perfected G5048 V-RPP-NSF in G1722 PREP us G2254 P-1DP .
13 Hereby G1722 PREP know G1097 V-PAI-1P we that G3754 CONJ we dwell G3306 V-PAI-1P in G1722 PREP him G846 P-DSM , and G2532 CONJ he G846 P-NSM in G1722 PREP us G2254 P-1DP , because G3754 CONJ he hath given G1325 V-RAI-3S us G2254 P-1DP of G1537 PREP his G3588 T-GSN Spirit G4151 N-GSN .
14 And G2532 CONJ we G2249 P-1NP have seen G2300 V-RNI-1P and G2532 CONJ do testify G3140 V-PAI-1P that G3754 CONJ the G3588 T-NSM Father G3962 N-NSM sent G649 V-RAI-3S the G3588 T-ASM Son G5207 N-ASM to be the Savior G4990 N-ASM of G3588 T-GSM the G3588 T-GSM world G2889 N-GSM .
15 Whosoever G302 PRT shall confess G3670 V-AAS-3S that G3754 CONJ Jesus G2424 N-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S the G3588 T-NSM Son G5207 N-NSM of G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-GSM , God G2316 N-NSM dwelleth G3306 V-PAI-3S in G1722 PREP him G846 P-DSM , and G2532 CONJ he G846 P-NSM in G1722 PREP God G2316 N-DSM .
16 And G2532 CONJ we G2249 P-1NP have known G1097 V-RAI-1P and G2532 CONJ believed G4100 V-RAI-1P the G3588 T-ASF love G26 N-ASF that G3588 T-NSM God G2316 N-NSM hath G2192 V-PAI-3S to G1722 PREP us G3588 T-NSM . God G2316 N-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S love G26 N-NSF ; and G2532 CONJ he that dwelleth G3306 V-PAP-NSM in G1722 PREP love G26 N-DSF dwelleth G3306 V-PAI-3S in G1722 PREP God G2316 N-DSM , and G2532 CONJ God G2316 N-NSM in G1722 PREP him G846 P-DSM .
17 Herein G1722 PREP is G3326 PREP our G3588 T-NSF love G26 N-NSF made perfect G5048 V-RPI-3S , that G2443 CONJ we may have G2192 V-PAS-1P boldness G3954 N-ASF in G1722 PREP the G3588 T-DSF day G2250 N-DSF of judgment G2920 N-GSF : because G3754 CONJ as G2531 ADV he G1565 D-NSM is G2076 V-PXI-3S , so G2532 CONJ are G2070 V-PXI-1P we G2249 P-1NP in G1722 PREP this G3588 T-DSM world G2889 N-DSM .
18 There is G2076 V-PXI-3S no G3756 PRT-N fear G5401 N-NSM in G1722 PREP love G26 N-DSF ; but G235 CONJ perfect G5046 A-NSF love G26 N-NSF casteth G906 V-PAI-3S out G1854 ADV fear G5401 N-ASM : because G3754 CONJ fear G5401 N-NSM hath G2192 V-PAI-3S torment G2851 N-ASF . He that feareth G5399 V-PNP-NSM is not G3756 PRT-N made perfect G5048 V-RPI-3S in G1722 PREP love G26 N-DSF .
19 We G2249 P-1NP love G25 V-PAI-1P him G846 P-ASM , because G3754 CONJ he G846 P-NSM first G4413 A-NSM loved G25 V-AAI-3S us G2248 P-1AP .
20 If G1437 COND a man G5100 X-NSM say G2036 V-2AAS-3S , I G3588 T-ASM love G25 V-PAI-1S God G2316 N-ASM , and G2532 CONJ hateth G3404 V-PAS-3S his G3588 T-ASM brother G80 N-ASM , he is G2076 V-PXI-3S a liar G5583 N-NSM : for G1063 CONJ he that loveth G25 V-PAP-NSM not G3361 PRT-N his G3588 T-ASM brother G80 N-ASM whom G3739 R-ASM he hath seen G3708 V-RAI-3S , how G4459 ADV-I can G1410 V-PNI-3S he G3588 T-ASM love G25 V-PAN God G2316 N-ASM whom G3739 R-ASM he hath not G3756 PRT-N seen G3708 V-RAI-3S ?
21 And G2532 CONJ this G3588 T-ASF commandment G1785 N-ASF have G2192 V-PAI-1P we from G575 PREP him G846 P-GSM , That G3588 T-NSM he G3588 T-ASM who G3588 T-ASM loveth G25 V-PAP-NSM God G2316 N-ASM love G25 V-PAS-3S his G3588 T-ASM brother G80 N-ASM also G2532 CONJ .
