1 ત્યારે બિલ્દાદ શૂહીએ ઉત્તર આપ્યો,
2 “સત્તા તથા ભય તેમની પાસે છે; તે પોતાનાં ઉચ્ચસ્થાનોમાં શાંતિ કરે છે.
3 શું તેમનાં સૈન્યોની કંઈ ગણતરી છે? અને કોના ઉપર તેમનું અજવાળું નથી ઊગતું?
4 તો ઈશ્વરની હજૂરમાં મનુષ્ય કેમ કરીને ન્યાયી ઠરે? કે સ્ત્રીજન્ય કેવી રીતે પવિત્ર હોઈ શકે?
5 જો, ચંદ્ર પણ નિસ્તેજ છે, અને તેમની દષ્ટિમાં તારાઓ પણ નિર્મળ નથી;
6 તો મનુષ્ય જે કીડા જેવો છે તે, અને મનુષ્યપુત્ર જે કીડો જ છે તે કેવી રીતે પવિત્ર હોઈ શકે!”
