Leviticus 4 (YLT) Young's Literal Translation

1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
2 `Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, When a person doth sin through ignorance against any of the commands of Jehovah regarding things which are not to be done, and hath done something against one of these --
3 `If the priest who is anointed doth sin according to the guilt of the people, then he hath brought near for his sin which he hath sinned a bullock, a son of the herd, a perfect one, to Jehovah, for a sin-offering,
4 and he hath brought in the bullock unto the opening of the tent of meeting before Jehovah, and hath laid his hand on the head of the bullock, and hath slaughtered the bullock before Jehovah.
5 `And the priest who is anointed hath taken of the blood of the bullock, and hath brought it in unto the tent of meeting,
6 and the priest hath dipped his finger in the blood, and sprinkled of the blood seven times before Jehovah, at the front of the vail of the sanctuary;
7 and the priest hath put of the blood on the horns of the altar of spice-perfume before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting, and all the blood of the bullock he doth pour out at the foundation of the altar of the burnt-offering, which is at the opening of the tent of meeting.
8 `And all the fat of the bullock of the sin-offering he doth lift up from it, the fat which is covering over the inwards, and all the fat which is on the inwards,
9 and the two kidneys, and the fat which is on them, which is on the flanks, and the redundance above the liver, (beside the kidneys he doth turn it aside),
10 as it is lifted up from the ox of the sacrifice of the peace-offerings; and the priest hath made them a perfume on the altar of the burnt-offering.
11 `And the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, besides its head, and besides its legs, and its inwards, and its dung --
12 he hath even brought out the whole bullock unto the outside of the camp, unto a clean place, unto the place of the pouring out of the ashes, and he hath burnt it on the wood with fire; beside the place of the pouring out of the ashes it is burnt.
13 `And if the whole company of Israel err ignorantly, and the thing hath been hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done something against one of all the commands of Jehovah concerning things which are not to be done, and have been guilty;
14 when the sin which they have sinned concerning it hath been known, then have the assembly brought near a bullock, a son of the herd, for a sin-offering, and they have brought it in before the tent of meeting;
15 and the elders of the company have laid their hands on the head of the bullock, before Jehovah, and one hath slaughtered the bullock before Jehovah.
16 `And the priest who is anointed hath brought in of the blood of the bullock unto the tent of meeting,
17 and the priest hath dipped his finger in the blood, and hath sprinkled seven times before Jehovah at the front of the vail,
18 and some of the blood he doth put on the horns of the altar which is before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood he doth pour out at the foundation of the altar of the burnt-offering, which is at the opening of the tent of meeting;
19 and all its fat he doth lift up from it, and hath made perfume on the altar.
20 `And he hath done to the bullock as he hath done to the bullock of the sin-offering, so he doth to it; and the priest hath made atonement for them, and it hath been forgiven them;
21 and he hath brought out the bullock unto the outside of the camp, and hath burned it as he hath burned the first bullock; it is a sin-offering of the assembly.
22 `When a prince doth sin, and hath done something against one of all the commands of Jehovah his God regarding things which are not to be done, through ignorance, and hath been guilty --
23 or his sin wherein he hath sinned hath been made known unto him, then he hath brought in his offering, a kid of the goats, a male, a perfect one,
24 and he hath laid his hand on the head of the goat, and hath slaughtered it in the place where he doth slaughter the burnt-offering before Jehovah; it is a sin-offering.
25 `And the priest hath taken of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and hath put on the horns of the altar of the burnt-offering, and its blood he doth pour out at the foundation of the altar of the burnt-offering,
26 and with all its fat he doth make perfume on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of the peace-offerings; and the priest hath made atonement for him because of his sin, and it hath been forgiven him.
27 `And if any person of the people of the land sin through ignorance, by his doing something against one of the commands of Jehovah regarding things which are not to be done, and hath been guilty --
28 or his sin which he hath sinned hath been made known unto him, then he hath brought in his offering, a kid of the goats, a perfect one, a female, for his sin which he hath sinned,
29 and he hath laid his hand on the head of the sin-offering, and hath slaughtered the sin-offering in the place of the burnt-offering.
30 `And the priest hath taken of its blood with his finger, and hath put on the horns of the altar of the burnt-offering, and all its blood he doth pour out at the foundation of the altar,
31 and all its fat he doth turn aside, as the fat hath been turned aside from off the sacrifice of the peace-offerings, and the priest hath made perfume on the altar, for sweet fragrance to Jehovah; and the priest hath made atonement for him, and it hath been forgiven him.
32 `And if he bring in a sheep for his offering, for a sin-offering, a female, a perfect one, he doth bring in,
33 and he hath laid his hand on the head of the sin-offering, and hath slaughtered it for a sin-offering in the place where he slaughtereth the burnt-offering.
34 `And the priest hath taken of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and hath put on the horns of the altar of the burnt-offering, and all its blood he poureth out at the foundation of the altar,
35 and all its fat he turneth aside, as the fat of the sheep is turned aside from the sacrifice of the peace-offerings, and the priest hath made them a perfume on the altar, according to the fire-offerings of Jehovah, and the priest hath made atonement for him, for his sin which he hath sinned, and it hath been forgiven him.

2 Speak H1696 VPFC unto H413 PREP the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , saying H559 L-VQFC , If H3588 CONJ a soul H5315 GFS shall sin H2398 through ignorance H7684 against any H3605 M-CMS of the commandments H4687 of the LORD H3068 EDS concerning things which H834 RPRO ought not H3808 NADV to be done H6213 W-VQQ3MS , and shall do H6213 W-VQQ3MS against any H259 of them H2007 :
3 If H518 PART the priest H3548 that is anointed H4899 do sin H2398 according to the sin H819 of the people H5971 ; then let him bring H7126 for H5921 PREP his sin H2403 CFS-3MS , which H834 RPRO he hath sinned H2398 VQQ3MS , a young H1121 bullock H6499 without blemish H8549 AMS unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS for a sin offering H2403 .
4 And he shall bring H935 the bullock H6499 unto H413 PREP the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 NMS before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS ; and shall lay H5564 his hand H3027 CFS-3MS upon H5921 PREP the bullock H6499 \'s head H7218 NMS , and kill H7819 the bullock H6499 before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
5 And the priest H3548 that is anointed H4899 shall take H3947 W-VQQ3MS of the bullock\'s blood H1818 , and bring H935 it to H413 PREP the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 :
6 And the priest H3548 shall dip H2881 his finger H676 in the blood H1818 , and sprinkle H5137 of H4480 PREP the blood H1818 seven H7651 MFS times H6471 NFP before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , before H6440 L-CMP the veil H6532 of the sanctuary H6944 .
7 And the priest H3548 shall put H5414 W-VQQ3MS some of H4480 PREP the blood H1818 upon H5921 PREP the horns H7161 of the altar H4196 of sweet H5561 incense H7004 before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , which H834 RPRO is in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 NMS ; and shall pour H8210 VQY3MS all H3605 NMS the blood H1818 CMS of the bullock H6499 at H413 PREP the bottom H3247 of the altar H4196 of the burnt offering H5930 , which H834 RPRO is at the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 .
8 And he shall take off H7311 VHY3MS from H4480 M-PREP-3MS it all H3605 NMS the fat H2459 of the bullock H6499 for the sin offering H2403 ; the fat H2459 that covereth H3680 the inwards H7130 , and all H3605 NMS the fat H2459 that H834 RPRO is upon H5921 PREP the inwards H7130 ,
9 And the two H8147 ONUM kidneys H3629 , and the fat H2459 that H834 RPRO is upon H5921 PREP them , which H834 RPRO is by H5921 PREP the flanks H3689 , and the caul H3508 above H5921 PREP the liver H3516 , with H5921 PREP the kidneys H3629 , it shall he take away H5493 ,
10 As H834 K-RPRO it was taken off H7311 from the bullock H7794 of the sacrifice H2077 NMS of peace offerings H8002 : and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 them upon H5921 PREP the altar H4196 of the burnt offering H5930 .
11 And the skin H5785 NMS of the bullock H6499 , and all H3605 NMS his flesh H1320 CMS-3MS , with H5921 PREP his head H7218 CMS-3MS , and with H5921 PREP his legs H3767 , and his inwards H7130 , and his dung H6569 ,
12 Even the whole H3605 NMS bullock H6499 shall he carry forth H3318 without H413 PREP the camp H4264 unto H413 PREP a clean H2889 AMS place H4725 NUM-MS , where the ashes H1880 are poured out H8211 , and burn H8313 him on H5921 PREP the wood H6086 with fire H784 : where H5921 PREP the ashes H1880 are poured out H8211 shall he be burnt H8313 .
13 And if H518 W-PART the whole H3605 NMS congregation H5712 CFS of Israel H3478 sin through ignorance H7686 , and the thing H1697 VQPMS be hid H5956 from the eyes H5869 M-CMD of the assembly H6951 , and they have done H6213 W-VQQ3MP somewhat against any of OFS the commandments H4687 of the LORD H3068 EDS concerning things which H834 RPRO should not H3808 NADV be done H6213 , and are guilty H816 ;
14 When the sin H2403 , which H834 RPRO they have sinned H2398 VQQ3MP against H5921 PREP-3FS it , is known H3045 , then the congregation H6951 shall offer H7126 a young H1121 bullock H6499 for the sin H2403 , and bring H935 him before H6440 L-CMP the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 .
15 And the elders H2205 of the congregation H5712 shall lay H5564 their hands H3027 CFD-3MP upon H5921 PREP the head H7218 NMS of the bullock H6499 before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS : and the bullock H6499 shall be killed H7819 before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS .
16 And the priest H3548 that is anointed H4899 shall bring H935 of the bullock\'s blood H1818 to H413 PREP the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 :
17 And the priest H3548 shall dip H2881 his finger H676 in some of H4480 PREP the blood H1818 , and sprinkle H5137 it seven H7651 MFS times H6471 NFP before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , even before H6440 L-CMP the veil H6532 .
18 And he shall put H5414 VHFA some of H4480 W-PREP the blood H1818 upon H5921 PREP the horns H7161 of the altar H4196 D-NMS which H834 RPRO is before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , that H834 RPRO is in the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 NMS , and shall pour out H8210 VQY3MS all H3605 NMS the blood H1818 at H413 PREP the bottom H3247 of the altar H4196 of the burnt offering H5930 , which H834 RPRO is at the door H6607 CMS of the tabernacle H168 NMS of the congregation H4150 .
19 And he shall take H7311 VHY3MS all H3605 NMS his fat H2459 from H4480 M-PREP-3MS him , and burn H6999 it upon the altar H4196 .
20 And he shall do H6213 W-VQQ3MS with the bullock H6499 as H834 K-RPRO he did H6213 W-VQQ3MS with the bullock H6499 for a sin offering H2403 , so H3651 ADV shall he do H6213 W-VQQ3MS with this : and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 for H5921 them , and it shall be forgiven H5545 them .
21 And he shall carry forth the bullock H6499 without H413 PREP the camp H4264 , and burn H8313 him as H834 K-RPRO he burned H8313 the first H7223 bullock H6499 : it H1931 PPRO-3MS is a sin offering H2403 for the congregation H6951 .
22 When H834 RPRO a ruler H5387 hath sinned H2398 , and done H6213 W-VQQ3MS somewhat through ignorance H7684 against any of OFS the commandments H4687 of the LORD H3068 EDS his God H430 CMP-3MS concerning things which H834 RPRO should not H3808 NADV be done H6213 W-VQQ3MS , and is guilty H816 ;
23 Or H176 CONJ if his sin H2403 CFS-3MS , wherein H834 RPRO he hath sinned H2398 VQQ3MS , come to his knowledge H3045 ; he shall bring H935 his offering H7133 , a kid H8163 of the goats H5795 , a male H2145 NMS without blemish H8549 AMS :
24 And he shall lay H5564 his hand H3027 CFS-3MS upon H5921 PREP the head H7218 NMS of the goat H8163 , and kill H7819 it in the place H4725 B-CMS where H834 RPRO they kill H7819 the burnt offering H5930 before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS : it H1931 PPRO-3MS is a sin offering H2403 CFS .
25 And the priest H3548 shall take H3947 W-VQQ3MS of H4480 the blood H1818 of the sin offering H2403 with his finger H676 , and put H5414 W-VQQ3MS it upon H5921 PREP the horns H7161 of the altar H4196 of burnt offering H5930 , and shall pour out H8210 VQY3MS his blood H1818 CMS-3MS at H413 PREP the bottom H3247 of the altar H4196 of burnt offering H5930 .
26 And he shall burn H6999 all H3605 NMS his fat H2459 upon the altar H4196 , as the fat H2459 of the sacrifice H2077 NMS of peace offerings H8002 : and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 for H5921 PREP-3MS him as concerning his sin H2403 , and it shall be forgiven H5545 him .
27 And if H518 W-PART any H259 OFS one H5315 GFS of the common people H5971 sin H2398 through ignorance H7684 , while he doeth H6213 somewhat against any H259 OFS of the commandments H4687 of the LORD H3068 EDS concerning things which H834 RPRO ought not H3808 NADV to be done H6213 , and be guilty H816 ;
28 Or H176 CONJ if his sin H2403 CFS-3MS , which H834 RPRO he hath sinned H2398 VQQ3MS , come to his knowledge H3045 : then he shall bring H935 his offering H7133 , a kid H8166 of the goats H5795 , a female H5347 without blemish H8549 , for H5921 PREP his sin H2403 CFS-3MS which H834 RPRO he hath sinned H2398 .
29 And he shall lay H5564 his hand H3027 CFS-3MS upon H5921 PREP the head H7218 NMS of the sin offering H2403 , and slay H7819 the sin offering H2403 in the place H4725 B-CMS of the burnt offering H5930 .
30 And the priest H3548 shall take H3947 W-VQQ3MS of the blood H1818 thereof with his finger H676 , and put H5414 W-VQQ3MS it upon H5921 PREP the horns H7161 of the altar H4196 of burnt offering H5930 , and shall pour out H8210 VQY3MS all H3605 NMS the blood H1818 thereof at H413 PREP the bottom H3247 of the altar H4196 .
31 And he shall take away H5493 all H3605 NMS the fat H2459 thereof , as H834 K-RPRO the fat H2459 is taken away H5493 from H4480 off H5921 M-PREP the sacrifice H2077 NMS of peace offerings H8002 ; and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 it upon the altar H4196 for a sweet H5207 savor H7381 unto the LORD H3068 L-EDS ; and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 for H5921 M-PREP him , and it shall be forgiven H5545 him .
32 And if H518 W-PART he bring H935 a lamb H3532 for a sin H2403 offering H7133 , he shall bring H935 it a female H5347 without blemish H8549 .
33 And he shall lay H5564 his hand H3027 CFS-3MS upon H5921 PREP the head H7218 NMS of the sin offering H2403 , and slay H7819 it for a sin offering H2403 in the place H4725 B-CMS where H834 RPRO they kill H7819 the burnt offering H5930 .
34 And the priest H3548 shall take H3947 W-VQQ3MS of the blood H1818 of the sin offering H2403 with his finger H676 , and put H5414 W-VQQ3MS it upon H5921 PREP the horns H7161 of the altar H4196 of burnt offering H5930 , and shall pour out H8210 VQY3MS all H3605 NMS the blood H1818 thereof at H413 PREP the bottom H3247 of the altar H4196 :
35 And he shall take away H5493 all H3605 NMS the fat H2459 thereof , as H834 RPRO the fat H2459 of the lamb H3775 is taken away H5493 from the sacrifice H2077 of the peace offerings H8002 ; and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 them upon the altar H4196 , according to H5921 PREP the offerings made by fire H801 unto the LORD H3068 EDS : and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 for H5921 PREP his sin H2403 CFS-3MS that H834 RPRO he hath committed H2398 VQQ3MS , and it shall be forgiven H5545 him .
