1 എന്നാൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ തങ്ങളുടെ സേനകളെയെല്ലാം അഫേക്കിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; യിസ്രായേല്യരും യിസ്രെയേലിൽ ഉള്ള ഉറവിന്നരികെ പാളയം ഇറങ്ങി.
2 അപ്പോൾ ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ നൂറുനൂറായും ആയിരം ആയിരമായും കടന്നു; എന്നാൽ ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും പിൻപടയിൽ ആഖീശിനോടുകൂടെ കടന്നു.
3 ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ: ഈ എബ്രായർ എന്തിന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ ആഖീശ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടു: ഇവൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ശൌലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യനായിരുന്ന ദാവീദല്ലയോ? ഇത്രനാളായി ഇത്രസംവത്സരമായി അവൻ എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാർക്കുന്നു. അവൻ എന്നെ ആശ്രയിച്ചതുമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെ ഞാൻ അവനിൽ ഒരു കുറവും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 എന്നാൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ അവനോടു കോപിച്ചു: നീ അവന്നു കല്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു പൊയ്ക്കൊൾവാൻ അവനെ മടക്കി അയക്ക; അവൻ നമ്മോടുകൂടെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോരരുതു; യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അവൻ നമുക്കു ദ്രോഹിയായി തീർന്നേക്കാം; ഈ ആളുകളുടെ തലകളെക്കൊണ്ടല്ലാതെ മറ്റെന്തുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു അവൻ തന്റെ യജമാനനെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു?
5 ശൌൽ ആയിരത്തെ കൊന്നു ദാവീദോ പതിനായിരത്തെ എന്നു ചൊല്ലി അവർ നൃത്തത്തിൽ ഗാനപ്രതിഗാനം പാടിയ ദാവീദ് ഇവനല്ലയോ എന്നു ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
6 എന്നാറെ ആഖീശ് ദാവീദിനെ വിളിച്ചു അവനോടു: യഹോവയാണ, നീ പരമാർത്ഥിയും പാളയത്തിൽ എന്നോടുകൂടെയുള്ള നിന്റെ ഗമനാഗമങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചതും ആകുന്നു. നീ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്ന നാൾമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാൻ നിന്നിൽ ഒരു ദോഷവും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല; എന്നാൽ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കു നിന്നെ ഇഷ്ടമല്ല.
7 ആകയാൽ നീ ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഫെലിസ്ത്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായി തോന്നാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സമാധാനത്തോടെ മടങ്ങിപ്പൊയ്ക്കൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
8 ദാവീദ് ആഖീശിനോടു: എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ നേരെ ഞാൻ ചെന്നു പൊരുതുകൂടാതവണ്ണം നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്ന നാൾമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെ നീ അടിയനിൽ എന്തു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
9 ആഖീശ് ദാവീദിനോടു: എനിക്കറിയാം; എനിക്കു നിന്നെ ഒരു ദൈവദൂതനെപ്പോലെ ബോധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഫെലിസ്ത്യ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ: അവൻ ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പോരരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
10 ആകയാൽ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ വന്നിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുമായി നന്നാ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റുകൊൾക; അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു വെളിച്ചം ആയ ഉടനെ പൊയ്ക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
11 ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാൻ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു; ഫെലിസ്ത്യരോ യിസ്രെയേലിലേക്കു പോയി.
1 Now the Philistines H6430 gathered together H6908 all H3605 NMS their armies H4264 to Aphek H663 : and the Israelites H3478 pitched H2583 by a fountain H5869 which H834 RPRO is in Jezreel H3157 .
2 And the lords H5633 of the Philistines H6430 passed on H5674 by hundreds H3967 , and by thousands H505 : but David H1732 and his men H376 passed on H5674 in the rearward H314 with H5973 PREP Achish H397 .
3 Then said H559 W-VQY3MS the princes H8269 CMP of the Philistines H6430 , What H4100 IGAT do these H428 D-DPRO-3MP Hebrews H5680 here ? And Achish H397 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP the princes H8269 CMP of the Philistines H6430 , Is not H3808 this H2088 DPRO David H1732 , the servant H5650 NMS of Saul H7586 the king H4428 NMS of Israel H3478 , which H834 RPRO hath been H1961 VQQ3MS with H854 PREP-1MS me these H2088 DPRO days H3117 M-NMS , or H176 CONJ these H2088 DPRO years H8141 NFP , and I have found H4672 VQQ1MS no H3808 W-NPAR fault H3972 NMS in him since H3117 M-NMS he fell H5307 unto me unto H5704 PREP this H2088 D-PMS day H3117 M-NMS ?
4 And the princes H8269 CMP of the Philistines H6430 were wroth H7107 with H5973 PREP-1MP him ; and the princes H8269 CMP of the Philistines H6430 said H559 W-VQY3MP unto him , Make this fellow return H7725 VHFA , that he may go again H7725 to H413 PREP his place H4725 which H834 RPRO thou hast appointed H6485 him , and let him not H3808 W-NPAR go down H3381 with H5973 PREP-1MP us to battle H4421 , lest H3808 W-NPAR in the battle H4421 he be H1961 VQY3MS an adversary H7854 to us : for wherewith H4100 should he reconcile H7521 himself H2088 DPRO unto H413 PREP his master H113 ? should it not H3808 W-NPAR be with the heads H7218 of these H1992 men H376 D-NMS ?
5 Is not H3808 D-NPAR this H2088 DPRO David H1732 , of whom H834 RPRO they sang H6030 VQY3MP one to another in dances H4246 , saying H559 L-VQFC , Saul H7586 slew H5221 his thousands H505 , and David H1732 his ten thousands H7233 ?
6 Then Achish H397 called H7121 W-VQY3MS David H1732 MMS , and said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP him , Surely , as the LORD H3068 EDS liveth H2416 AMS , thou H859 PPRO-2MS hast been upright H3477 AMS , and thy going out H3318 and thy coming in H935 with H854 PREP-1MS me in the host H4264 is good H2896 AMS in my sight H5869 : for H3588 CONJ I have not H3808 ADV found H4672 evil H7451 AFS in thee since the day H3117 M-NMS of thy coming H935 unto H413 PREP-3MS me unto H5704 PREP this H2088 D-PMS day H3117 M-NMS : nevertheless the lords H5869 favor H2896 AMS thee H859 PPRO-2FS not H3808 ADV .
7 Wherefore now H6258 W-ADV return H7725 VQFC , and go H1980 in peace H7965 , that thou displease H6213 not H3808 W-NPAR the lords H5633 of the Philistines H6430 .
8 And David H1732 MMS said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP Achish H397 , But H3588 CONJ what H4100 IPRO have I done H6213 VQQ1MS ? and what H4100 W-IPRO hast thou found H4672 in thy servant H5650 so long H3117 M-NMS as H834 RPRO I have been H1961 VQQ1MS with H6440 L-CMP-2MS thee unto H5704 PREP this H2088 D-PMS day H3117 M-NMS , that H3588 CONJ I may not H3808 NADV go H1980 fight H3898 against the enemies H341 of my lord H113 the king H4428 ?
9 And Achish H397 answered H6030 W-VQY3MS and said H559 W-VQY3MS to H413 PREP David H1732 MMS , I know H3045 VQY1MS that H3588 CONJ thou H859 PPRO-2MS art good H2896 AMS in my sight H5869 , as an angel H4397 of God H430 EDP : notwithstanding H389 ADV the princes H8269 CMP of the Philistines H6430 have said H559 W-VQY3MS , He shall not H3808 ADV go up H5927 VQY3MS with H5973 PREP-1MP us to the battle H4421 .
10 Wherefore now H6258 W-ADV rise up early H7925 in the morning H1242 B-NMS with thy master H113 \'s servants H5650 that H834 RPRO are come H935 VQQ3MP with H854 PART-2MS thee : and as soon as ye be up early H7925 in the morning H1242 B-NMS , and have light H216 , depart H1980 .
11 So David H1732 MMS and his men H376 rose up early H7925 to depart H1980 L-VQFC in the morning H1242 B-NMS , to return H7725 into H413 PREP the land H776 GFS of the Philistines H6430 TMS . And the Philistines H6430 went up H5927 to Jezreel H3157 .
