1 യെഹൂദ്യയില്‍നിന്നു ചിലര്‍ വന്നുനിങ്ങള്‍ മോശെ കല്പിച്ച ആചാരം അനുസരിച്ചു പരിച്ഛേദന ഏല്‍ക്കാഞ്ഞാല്‍ രക്ഷ പ്രാപിപ്പാന്‍ കഴികയില്ല എന്നു സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

2 പൌലൊസിന്നും ബര്‍ന്നബാസിന്നും അവരോടു അല്പമല്ലാത്ത വാദവും തര്‍ക്കവും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു പൌലൊസും ബര്‍ന്നബാസും അവരില്‍ മറ്റു ചിലരും ഈ തര്‍ക്കസംഗതിയെപ്പറ്റി യെരൂശലേമില്‍ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെയും മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കല്‍ പോകേണം എന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.

3 സഭ അവരെ യാത്ര അയച്ചിട്ടു അവര്‍ ഫൊയ്നീക്ക്യയിലും ശമര്യയിലും കൂടി കടന്നു ജാതികളുടെ മാനസാന്തരവിവരം അറിയിച്ചു സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ക്കും മഹാസന്തോഷം വരുത്തി.

4 അവര്‍ യെരൂശലേമില്‍ എത്തിയാറെ സഭയും അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും അവരെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു; ദൈവം തങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു ചെയ്തതൊക്കയും അവര്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.

5 എന്നാല്‍ പരീശപക്ഷത്തില്‍നിന്നു വിശ്വസിച്ചവര്‍ ചിലര്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ പരിച്ഛേദന കഴിപ്പിക്കയും മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ആചരിപ്പാന്‍ കല്പിക്കയും വേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

6 ഈ സംഗതിയെക്കുറിച്ചു വിചാരിപ്പാന്‍ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും വന്നു കൂടി. വളരെ തര്‍ക്കം ഉണ്ടയശേഷം പത്രൊസ് എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു

7 സഹോദരന്മാരേ, കുറെ നാള്‍ മുമ്പെ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളില്‍ വെച്ചു ഞാന്‍ മുഖാന്തരം ജാതികള്‍ സുവിശേഷവചനം കേട്ടു വിശ്വസിക്കേണം എന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ചതു നിങ്ങള്‍ അറിയുന്നു വല്ലോ.

8 ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്ന ദൈവം നമുക്കു തന്നതുപോലെ അവര്‍ക്കും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനെ കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു സാക്ഷിനിന്നു വിശ്വാസത്താല്‍

9 അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചതിനാല്‍ നമുക്കും അവര്‍ക്കും തമ്മില്‍ ഒരു വ്യത്യാസവും വെച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

10 ആകയാല്‍ നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും നമുക്കും ചുമപ്പാന്‍ കിഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലത്ത നുകം ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കഴുത്തില്‍ വെപ്പാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ദൈവത്തെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു?

11 കര്‍ത്താവയ യേശുവിന്റെ കൃപയാല്‍ രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും എന്നു നാം വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ അവരും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു

12 ജനസമൂഹം എല്ലാം മിണ്ടാതെ ബര്‍ന്നബാസും പൌലൊസും ദൈവം തങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ചെയ്യിച്ച അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും എല്ലാം വിവരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

13 അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു നിറുത്തിയശേഷം യാക്കോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു

14 സഹോദരന്മാരേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു കൊള്‍വിന്‍ ; ദൈവം തന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നായി ജാതികളില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു ജനത്തെ എടുത്തുകൊള്‍വാന്‍ ആദ്യമായിട്ടു കടാക്ഷിച്ചതു ശിമോന്‍ വിവരിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

15 ഇതിനോടു പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്യങ്ങളും ഒക്കുന്നു.

16 “അനന്തരം ഞാന്‍ ദാവീദിന്റെ വീണുപോയ കൂടാരത്തെ വീണ്ടും പണിയും; അതിന്റെ ശൂന്യശിഷ്ടങ്ങളെ വീണ്ടും പണിതു അതിനെ നിവിര്‍ത്തും;

17 മനുഷ്യരില്‍ ശേഷിച്ചവരും എന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന തദസകലജാതികളും കര്‍ത്താവിനെ അന്വേഷിക്കും എന്നു .

18 ഇതു പൂര്‍വകാലം മുതല്‍ അറിയിക്കുന്ന കര്‍ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

19 ആകയാല്‍ ജാതികളില്‍നിന്നു ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നവരെ നാം അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്താതെ

20 അവര്‍ വിഗ്രഹമാലിന്യങ്ങള്‍, പരസംഗം, ശ്വാസംമുട്ടിച്ചത്തതു, രക്തം എന്നിവ വര്‍ജ്ജിച്ചിരിപ്പാന്‍ നാം അവര്‍ക്കും എഴുതേണം എന്നു ഞാന്‍ അഭിപ്രായപ്പെടുന്നു.

21 മോശെയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ശബ്ബത്തുതോറും പള്ളികളില്‍ വായിച്ചുവരുന്നതിനാല്‍ പൂര്‍വകാലംമുതല്‍ പട്ടണം തോറും അതു പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

22 അപ്പോള്‍ തങ്ങളില്‍ ചില പുരുഷന്മാരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു പൌലൊസിനോടും ബര്‍ന്നബാസിനോടും കൂടെ അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു അയക്കേണം എന്നു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും സര്‍വസഭയും നിര്‍ണ്ണയിച്ചു, സഹോദരന്മാരില്‍ പ്രമാണപ്പെട്ട പുരുഷന്മാരായ ബര്‍ശബാസ് എന്ന യൂദയെയും ശീലാസിനെയും നിയോഗിച്ചു.

23 അവരുടെ കൈവശം എഴുതി അയച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്‍അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരായ സഹോദരന്മാരും അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലും സൂറിയയിലും കിലിക്ക്യയിലും ജാതികളില്‍ നിന്നു ചേര്‍ന്ന സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ക്കും വന്ദനം.

24 ഞങ്ങള്‍ കല്പന കൊടുക്കാതെ ചിലര്‍ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു നിങ്ങളെ വാക്കുകളാല്‍ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ കലക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു കേള്‍ക്കകൊണ്ടു

25 ഞങ്ങള്‍ ചില പുരുഷന്മാരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു നമ്മുടെ കര്‍ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി പ്രാണത്യാഗം ചെയ്തവരായ നമ്മുടെ

26 പ്രീയ ബര്‍ന്നബാസോടും പൌലൊസോടും കൂടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ അയക്കേണം എന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു നിശ്ചയിച്ചു.

27 ആകയാല്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ യൂദയെയും ശീലാസിനെയും അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര്‍ വാമൊഴിയായും ഇതുതന്നേ അറിയിക്കും.

28 വിഗ്രഹാര്‍പ്പിതം, രക്തം, ശ്വാസംമുട്ടിച്ചത്തതു, പരസംഗം എന്നിവ വര്‍ജ്ജിക്കുന്നതു ആവശ്യം എന്നല്ലാതെ അധികമായ ഭാരം ഒന്നും നിങ്ങളുടെ മേല്‍ ചുമത്തരുതു എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്നും ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കും തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

29 ഇവ വര്‍ജ്ജിച്ചു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാല്‍ നന്നു; ശുഭമായിരിപ്പിന്‍ .

30 അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ വിടവാങ്ങി അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില്‍ ചെന്നു ജനസമൂഹത്തെ കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി ലേഖനം കൊടുത്തു.

31 അവര്‍ ഈ ആശ്വാസവചനം വായിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

32 യൂദയും ശീലാസും പ്രവാചകന്മാര്‍ ആകകൊണ്ടു പല വചനങ്ങളാലും സഹോദരന്മാരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

33 കുറെനാള്‍ താമസിച്ചശേഷം സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ അവരെ അയച്ചവരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു സമാധാനത്തോടെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

34 എന്നാല്‍ പൌലൊസും ബര്‍ന്നബാസും അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തു മറ്റു പലരോടും കൂടി കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ വചനം ഉപദേശിച്ചും സുവിശേഷിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

35 കുറെനാള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു പൌലൊസ് ബര്‍ന്നബാസിനോടുനാം കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ വചനം അറിയിച്ച പട്ടണംതോറും പിന്നെയും ചെന്നു സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ എങ്ങനെയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36 മര്‍ക്കൊസ് എന്ന യോഹന്നാനെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകുവാന്‍ ബര്‍ന്നബാസ് ഇച്ഛിച്ചു.

37 പൌലൊസോ പംഫുല്യയില്‍നിന്നു തങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു വരാതെ പോയവനെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്നതു യോഗ്യമല്ല എന്നു നിരൂപിച്ചു.

38 അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ തമ്മില്‍ ഉഗ്രവാദമുണ്ടായിട്ടു വേര്‍ പിരിഞ്ഞു. ബര്‍ന്നബാസ് മര്‍ക്കൊസിനെ കൂട്ടി കപ്പല്‍കയറി കുപ്രൊസ് ദ്വീപിലേക്കു പോയി.

39 പൌലൊസോ ശീലാസിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു സഹോദരന്മാരാല്‍ കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ കൃപയില്‍ ഭരമേല്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടു

40 യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു സുറിയാ കിലിക്യാ ദേശങ്ങളില്‍ കൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു സഭകളെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പോന്നു.
