1 ഞങ്ങള്‍ കപ്പല്‍ കയറി ഇതല്യെക്കു പോകേണം എന്നു കല്പനയായപ്പോള്‍ പൌലൊസിനെയും മറ്റു ചില തടവുകാരെയും ഔഗുസ്ത്യ പട്ടാളത്തിലെ ശതാധിപനായ യൂലിയൊസിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.
2 അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ആസ്യക്കര പറ്റി ഔടുവാനുള്ള ഒരു അദ്ര മുത്ത്യകപ്പലില്‍ കയറി നീക്കി; തെസ്സലൊനിക്കയില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള മക്കെദോന്യക്കാരനായ അരിസ്തര്‍ഹൊസും ഞങ്ങളുടെക്കുടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
3 പിറ്റെന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ സീദോനില്‍ എത്തി; യൂലിയൊസ് പൌലൊസിനോടു ദയ കാണിച്ചു, സ്നേഹിതന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ പോയി സല്‍ക്കാരം കൈക്കൊള്‍വാന്‍ അനുവദിച്ചു.
4 അവിടെ നിന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ നീക്കി, കാറ്റു പ്രതിക്കുലമാകയാല്‍ കുപ്രൊസ് ദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ഔടി;
5 കിലിക്യ പംഫുല്യ കടല്‍വഴിയായി ചെന്നു ലുക്കിയയിലെ മുറാപ്പട്ടണത്തില്‍ എത്തി.
6 അവിടെ ശതാധിപന്‍ ഇതല്യെക്കു പോകുന്ന ഒരു അലെക്സന്ത്രിയക്കപ്പല്‍ കണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളെ അതില്‍ കയറ്റി.
7 പിന്നെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ബഹുദിവസം പതുക്കെ ഔടി, ക്നീദൊസ് തൂക്കില്‍ പ്രയാസത്തോടെ എത്തി, കാറ്റു സമ്മതിക്കായ്കയാല്‍ ക്രേത്തദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ശല്മോനെക്കു നേരെ ഔടി,
8 കരപറ്റി പ്രായസത്തോടെ ലസയ്യപട്ടണത്തിന്റെ സമീപത്തു ശുഭതുറമുഖം എന്നു പേരുള്ള സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തി.
9 ഇങ്ങനെ വളരെ നാള്‍ ചെന്നശേഷം നോമ്പും കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ കപ്പലോട്ടം വൈഷമ്യം ആകകൊണ്ടു പൌലൊസ്
10 പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഈ യാത്രയില്‍ ചരക്കിന്നും കപ്പലിന്നും മാത്രമല്ല നമ്മുടെ പ്രാണങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഏറിയ കഷ്ടനഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ വരും എന്നു ഞാന്‍ കാണുന്നു എന്നു അവരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
11 ശതാധിപനോ പൌലൊസ് പറഞ്ഞതിനെക്കാള്‍ മാലുമിയുടെയും കപ്പലുടമസ്ഥന്റെയും വാക്കു അധികം വിശ്വസിച്ചു.
12 ആ തുറമുഖം ശീതകാലം കഴിപ്പാന്‍ തക്കതല്ലായ്കയാല്‍ അവിടെ നിന്നു നീക്കി തെക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായും വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറായും തുറന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന ഫൊയ്നീക്യ എന്ന ക്രേത്തതുറമുഖത്തു കഴിവുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ ചെന്നു ശീതകാലം കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു മിക്കപേരും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞു.
13 തെക്കന്‍ കാറ്റു മന്ദമായി ഊതുകയാല്‍ താല്പര്യം സാധിച്ചു എന്നു തോന്നി, അവര്‍ അവിടെ നിന്നു നങ്കൂരം എടുത്തു ക്രേത്ത ദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ഔടി.
14 കുറെ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി ഈശാനമൂലന്‍ എന്ന കൊടങ്കാറ്റു അടിച്ചു.
15 കപ്പല്‍ കാറ്റിന്റെ നേരെ നില്പാന്‍ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം കുടുങ്ങുകയാല്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ കൈവിട്ടു അങ്ങനെ പാറിപ്പോയി.
16 ക്ളൌദ എന്ന ചെറിയ ദ്വീപിന്റെ മറപറ്റി ഔടീട്ടു പ്രയാസത്തോടെ തോണി കൈവശമാക്കി.
17 അതു വലിച്ചുകയറ്റീട്ടു അവര്‍ കപ്പല്‍ ചുറ്റിക്കെട്ടിയും മറ്റും ഉറപ്പുവരുത്തി; പിന്നെ മണത്തിട്ടമേല്‍ അകപ്പെടും എന്നു പേടിച്ചു പായി ഇറക്കി അങ്ങനെ പാറിപ്പോയി.
18 ഞങ്ങള്‍ കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിനാല്‍ അത്യന്തം അലയുകകൊണ്ടു പിറ്റെന്നു അവര്‍ ചരകൂ പുറത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.
19 മൂന്നാം നാള്‍ അവര്‍ സ്വന്തകയ്യാല്‍ കപ്പല്‍കോപ്പും കടലില്‍ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.
20 വളരെ നാളായിട്ടു സൂര്യനെയോ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയോ കാണാതെയും വല്ലാത്ത കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു അടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും ഇരിക്കയാല്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ രക്ഷപ്പെടും എന്നുള്ള ആശ ഒക്കെയും അറ്റുപോയി.
21 അവര്‍ വളരെ പട്ടിണി കിടന്നശേഷം പൌലോസ് അവരുടെ നടുവില്‍ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞതുപുരുഷന്മാരേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു അനുസരിച്ചു ക്രേത്തയില്‍നിന്നു നീക്കാതെയും ഈ കഷ്ട നഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍ സമ്പാദിക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു.
22 എങ്കിലും ഇപ്പോള്‍ ധൈര്യത്തോടിരിപ്പാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; കപ്പലിന്നു അല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങളില്‍ ആരുടെയും പ്രാണന്നു ഹാനി വരികയില്ല.
23 എന്റെ ഉടയവനും ഞാന്‍ സേവിച്ചുവരുന്നവനുമായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതന്‍ ഈ രാത്രിയില്‍ എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍നിന്നു
24 പൌലൊസേ, ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; നീ കൈസരുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ നില്‍ക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; നിന്നോടുകൂടെ യാത്രചെയ്യുന്നവരെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നിനക്കു ദാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 അതുകൊണ്ടു പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ധൈര്യത്തോടിരിപ്പിന്‍ ; എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു പോലെ തന്നേ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു ഞാന്‍ ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
26 എങ്കിലും നാം ഒരു ദ്വീപിന്മേല്‍ മുട്ടി വീഴേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.
27 പതിന്നാലാം രാത്രിയായപ്പോള്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ അദ്രിയക്കടലില്‍ അലയുന്നേരം അര്‍ദ്ധരാത്രിയില്‍ ഒരു കരെക്കു സമീപിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കപ്പല്‍ക്കാര്‍ക്കും തോന്നി.
28 അവര്‍ ഈയം ഇട്ടു ഇരുപതു മാറെന്നു കണ്ടു കുറയ അപ്പുറം പോയിട്ടു വീണ്ടും ഈയം ഇട്ടു പതിനഞ്ചു മറ്റൊന്നു കണ്ടു.
29 പാറ സ്ഥലങ്ങളില്‍ അകപ്പെടും എന്നു പേടിച്ചു അവര്‍ അമരത്തു നിന്നു നാലു നങ്കൂരം ഇട്ടു, നേരം വെളുപ്പാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
30 എന്നാല്‍ കപ്പല്‍ക്കാര്‍ കപ്പല്‍ വിട്ടു ഔടിപ്പോകുവാന്‍ വിചാരിച്ചു അണിയത്തുനിന്നു നങ്കൂരം ഇടുവാന്‍ പോകുന്നു എന്നുള്ള ഭാവത്തില്‍ തോണി കടലില്‍ ഇറക്കി.
31 അപ്പോള്‍ പൌലൊസ് ശതാധിപനോടും പടയാളികളോടുംഇവര്‍ കപ്പലില്‍ താമസിച്ചല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു രക്ഷപ്പെടുവാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നതല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
32 പടയാളികള്‍ തോണിയുടെ കയറു അറുത്തു അതു വീഴിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
33 നേരം വെളുക്കാറായപ്പോള്‍ പൌലൊസ് എല്ലാവരോടും ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചുനിങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്നും ഭക്ഷിക്കാതെ കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു പട്ടിണി കിടക്കുന്നതു ഇന്നു പതിന്നാലാം ദിവസം ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ.
34 അതുകൊണ്ടു ആഹാരം കഴിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; അതു നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷെക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ; നിങ്ങളില്‍ ഒരുത്തന്റെയും തലയിലെ ഒരു രോമംപോലും നഷ്ടമാകയില്ല നിശ്ചയം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
35 ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അപ്പം എടുത്തു എല്ലാവരും കാണ്‍കെ ദൈവത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തിട്ടു നുറുക്കി തിന്നുതുടങ്ങി.
36 അപ്പോള്‍ എല്ലാവരും ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.
37 കപ്പലില്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ആകപ്പാടെ ഇരുനൂറ്റെഴുപത്താറു ആള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
38 അവര്‍ തിന്നു തൃപ്തിവന്നശേഷം ധാന്യം കടലില്‍ കളഞ്ഞു കപ്പലിന്റെ ഭാരം കുറെച്ചു.
39 വെളിച്ചമായപ്പോള്‍ ഇന്ന ദേശം എന്നു അവര്‍ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല എങ്കിലും കരയുള്ളോരു തുറ കണ്ടു, കഴിയും എങ്കില്‍ കപ്പല്‍ അതിലേക്കു ഔടിക്കേണം എന്നു ഭാവിച്ചു.
40 നങ്കൂരം അറുത്തു കടലില്‍ വിട്ടു ചുക്കാന്റെ കെട്ടും അഴിച്ചു പെരുമ്പായ് കാറ്റുമുഖമായി കൊടുത്തു കരെക്കു നേരെ ഔടി.
41 ഇരുകടല്‍ കൂടിയോരു സ്ഥലത്തിന്മേല്‍ ചെന്നു കയറുകയാല്‍ കപ്പല്‍ അടിഞ്ഞു അണിയം ഉറെച്ചു ഇളക്കമില്ലാതെയായി; അമരം തിരയുടെ കേമത്താല്‍ ഉടഞ്ഞുപോയി.
42 തടവുകാരില്‍ ആരും നീന്തി ഔടിപ്പോകാതിരിപ്പാന്‍ അവരെ കൊല്ലേണം എന്നു പടയാളികള്‍ ആലോചിച്ചു.
43 ശതാധിപനോ പൌലൊസിനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ടു അവരുടെ താല്പര്യം തടുത്തു, നീന്തുവാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നവര്‍ ആദ്യം ചാടി കരെക്കു പറ്റുവാനും
44 ശേഷമുള്ളവര്‍ പലകമേലും കപ്പലിന്റെ ഖണ്ഡങ്ങളുടെ മേലുമായി എത്തുവാനും കല്പിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ എല്ലാവരും കരയില്‍ എത്തി രക്ഷപ്പെടുവാന്‍ സംഗതിവന്നു.
