2 സേയീര്‍പര്‍വ്വതം വഴിയായി ഹോരേബില്‍നിന്നു കാദേശ് ബര്‍ന്നേയയിലേക്കു പതിനൊന്നു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി ഉണ്ടു.

3 നാല്പതാം സംവത്സരം പതിനൊന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി മോശെ യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളോടു യഹോവ അവര്‍ക്കുംവേണ്ടി തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു പോലെ ഒക്കെയും പറഞ്ഞു.

4 ഹെശ്ബോനില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തിരുന്ന അമോര്‍യ്യരാജാവായ സീഹോനെയും അസ്താരോത്തില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തിരുന്ന ബാശാന്‍ രാജാവായ ഔഗിനെയും എദ്രെയില്‍വെച്ചു സംഹരിച്ചശേഷം

5 യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ മോവാബ് ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു മോശെ ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണം വിവരിച്ചുതുടങ്ങിയതു എങ്ങനെയെന്നാല്‍

7 തിരിഞ്ഞു യാത്രചെയ്തു അമോര്‍യ്യരുടെ പര്‍വ്വതത്തിലേക്കും അതിന്റെ അയല്‍പ്രദേശങ്ങളായ അരാബാ, മലനാടു, താഴ്വീതി, തെക്കേദേശം, കടല്‍ക്കര എന്നിങ്ങനെയുള്ള കനാന്യദേശത്തേക്കും ലെബാനോനിലേക്കും ഫ്രാത്ത് എന്ന മഹാനദിവരെയും പോകുവിന്‍ .

8 ഇതാ, ഞാന്‍ ആ ദേശം നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള്‍ കടന്നു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നും യാക്കോബിന്നും അവരുടെ സന്തതിക്കും കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു അവരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുവിന്‍ .

9 അക്കാലത്തു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎനിക്കു ഏകനായി നിങ്ങളെ വഹിപ്പാന്‍ കഴികയില്ല.

10 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്നു പെരുപ്പത്തില്‍ ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങള്‍ പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

11 നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ ഇപ്പോഴുള്ളതിനെക്കാള്‍ ഇനിയും ആയിരം ഇരട്ടിയാക്കി, താന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

12 ഞാന്‍ ഏകനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാരവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ചുമടും നിങ്ങളുടെ വ്യവഹാരങ്ങളും വഹിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?

13 അതതു ഗോത്രത്തില്‍നിന്നു ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവും പ്രസിദ്ധിയുമുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന്‍ ; അവരെ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തലവന്മാരാക്കും.

14 അതിന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ എന്നോടുനീ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യം നല്ലതു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

15 ആകയാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരായി ജ്ഞാനവും പ്രസിദ്ധിയുമുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരെ ആയിരംപേര്‍ക്കും അധിപതിമാര്‍, നൂറുപേര്‍ക്കും അധിപതിമാര്‍, അമ്പതുപേര്‍ക്കും അധിപതിമാര്‍, പത്തുപേര്‍ക്കും അധിപതിമാര്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തലവന്മാരും ഗോത്രപ്രമാണികളുമായി നിയമിച്ചു.

16 അന്നു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതുനിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ക്കും തമ്മിലുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളെ കേട്ടു, ആര്‍ക്കെങ്കിലും സഹോദരനോടോ പരദേശിയോടോ വല്ലകാര്യവും ഉണ്ടായാല്‍ അതു നീതിയോടെ വിധിപ്പിന്‍ .

17 ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തില്‍ മുഖം നോക്കാതെ ചെറിയവന്റെ കാര്യവും വലിയവന്റെ കാര്യവും ഒരുപോലെ കേള്‍ക്കേണം; മനുഷ്യനെ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; ന്യായവിധി ദൈവത്തിന്നുള്ളതല്ലോ. നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു അധികം പ്രയാസമുള്ള കാര്യം എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന്‍ ; അതു ഞാന്‍ തീര്‍ക്കും

18 അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യേണ്ടുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ഞാന്‍ അക്കാലത്തു നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

19 പിന്നെ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം ഹോരേബില്‍നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടശേഷം നിങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടഭയങ്കരമായ മഹാമരുഭൂമിയില്‍കൂടി നാം അമോര്‍യ്യരുടെ മലനാട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയായി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു കാദേശ്ബര്‍ന്നേയയില്‍ എത്തി.

20 അപ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടുനമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമുക്കു തരുന്ന അമോര്‍യ്യരുടെ മലനാടുവരെ നിങ്ങള്‍ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

21 ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആ ദേശം നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു പോലെ നീ ചെന്നു അതു കൈവശമാക്കിക്കൊള്‍ക; ഭയപ്പെടരുതു; അധൈര്യപ്പെടുകയും അരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22 എന്നാറെ നിങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാവരും അടുത്തുവന്നുനാം ചില ആളുകളെ മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി അയക്കുക; അവര്‍ ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കീട്ടു നാം ചെല്ലേണ്ടുന്ന വഴിയെയും പോകേണ്ടുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു വര്‍ത്തമാനം കൊണ്ടുവരട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23 ആ വാക്കു എനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചു; ഞാന്‍ ഔരോ ഗോത്രത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഔരോ ആള്‍ വീതം പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍നിന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.

24 അവര്‍ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പര്‍വ്വതത്തില്‍ കയറി എസ്കോല്‍താഴ്വരയോളം ചെന്നു ദേശം ഒറ്റുനോക്കി.

25 ദേശത്തിലെ ഫലവും ചിലതു അവര്‍ കൈവശമാക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നു വര്‍ത്തമാനമെല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചു; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമുക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശം നല്ലതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26 എന്നാല്‍ കയറിപ്പോകുവാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മനസ്സില്ലാതെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന നിങ്ങള്‍ മറുത്തു.

27 യഹോവ നമ്മെ പകെക്കയാല്‍ നമ്മെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം അമോര്‍യ്യരുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

28 എവിടേക്കാകുന്നു നാം കയറിപ്പോകുന്നതു? ജനങ്ങള്‍ നമ്മെക്കാള്‍ വലിയവരും ദീര്‍ഘകായന്മാരും പട്ടണങ്ങള്‍ വലിയവയും ആകാശത്തോളം എത്തുന്ന മതിലുള്ളവയും ആകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങള്‍ അവിടെ അനാക്യരെയും കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം ഉരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളില്‍ വെച്ചു പിറുപിറുത്തു പറഞ്ഞു.

30 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ നടക്കുന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ കാണ്‍കെ അവന്‍ മിസ്രയീമിലും മരുഭൂമിയിലും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യും.

31 ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്‍ തന്റെ മകനെ വഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തുവോളം നടന്ന എല്ലാ വഴിയിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ വഹിച്ചു എന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

32 ഇതെല്ലാമായിട്ടും പാളയമിറങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു സ്ഥലം അന്വേഷിപ്പാനും നിങ്ങള്‍ പോകേണ്ടുന്ന വഴി നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു കാണിച്ചുതരുവാനും

33 രാത്രി അഗ്നിയിലും പകല്‍ മേഘത്തിലും നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു മുമ്പായി നടന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നിങ്ങള്‍ വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

34 ആകയാല്‍ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു കോപിച്ചു

35 ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു സത്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള നല്ല ദേശം ഈ ദുഷ്ടതലമുറയിലെ പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ ആരും കാണുകയില്ല.

36 യെഫുന്നെയുടെ മകനായ കാലേബ് മാത്രം അതു കാണുകയും അവന്‍ യഹോവയെ പൂര്‍ണ്ണമായി പറ്റിനിന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്നും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്‍ക്കും അവന്‍ ചവിട്ടിയ ദേശം ഞാന്‍ കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു സത്യം ചെയ്തു കല്പിച്ചു.

37 യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിമിത്തം എന്നോടും കോപിച്ചു കല്പിച്ചതുനീയും അവിടെ ചെല്ലുകയില്ല.

38 നിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷകനായ നൂന്റെ മകന്‍ യോശുവ അവിടെ ചെല്ലും; അവനെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുക; അവനാകുന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്നു അതു കൈവശമാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതു.

39 കൊള്ളയാകുമെന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ പറഞ്ഞ നിങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളും ഇന്നു ഗുണദോഷങ്ങളെ തിരിച്ചറിയാത്ത നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളും അവിടെ ചെല്ലും; അവര്‍ക്കും ഞാന്‍ അതു കൊടുക്കും; അവര്‍ അതു കൈവശമാക്കും.

40 നിങ്ങള്‍ തിരിഞ്ഞു ചെങ്കടല്‍വഴിയായി മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്‍വിന്‍ .

41 അതിന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ എന്നോടുഞങ്ങള്‍ യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള്‍ പോയി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ താന്താന്റെ യുദ്ധായുധം ധരിച്ചു പര്‍വ്വതത്തില്‍ കയറുവാന്‍ തുനിഞ്ഞു.

42 എന്നാല്‍ യഹോവ എന്നോടുനിങ്ങള്‍ പോകരുതു; യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യരുതു; ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്‍ ഇല്ല; ശത്രുക്കളോടു നിങ്ങള്‍ തോറ്റുപോകും എന്നു അവരോടു പറക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

43 അങ്ങനെ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ കേള്‍ക്കാതെ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന മറുത്തു അഹമ്മതിയോടെ പര്‍വ്വതത്തില്‍ കയറി.

44 ആ പര്‍വ്വതത്തില്‍ കുടിയിരുന്ന അമോര്‍യ്യര്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു തേനീച്ചപോലെ നിങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടര്‍ന്നു സേയീരില്‍ ഹൊര്‍മ്മാവരെ ഛിന്നിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

45 നിങ്ങള്‍ മടങ്ങിവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ കരഞ്ഞു; എന്നാല്‍ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടില്ല; നിങ്ങളുടെ അപേക്ഷെക്കു ചെവി തന്നതുമില്ല.

46 അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള്‍ കാദേശില്‍ പാര്‍ത്ത ദീര്‍ഘകാലമൊക്കെയും അവിടെ താമസിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു.

22 And ye came near ^H7126 unto ^H413 me every one ^H3605 of you , and said, ^H559 We will send ^H7971 men ^H376 before ^H6440 us , and they shall search us out ^H2658 ^H853 the land, ^H776 and bring ^H7725 us word ^H1697 again ^H853 by what ^H834 way ^H1870 we must go up, ^H5927 and ^H853 into ^H413 what ^H834 cities ^H5892 we shall come. ^H935

26 Notwithstanding ye would ^H14 not ^H3808 go up, ^H5927 but rebelled against ^H4784 ^H853 the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD ^H3068 your God: ^H430

27 And ye murmured ^H7279 in your tents, ^H168 and said, ^H559 Because the LORD ^H3068 hated ^H8135 us , he hath brought us forth ^H3318 out of the land ^H4480 ^H776 of Egypt, ^H4714 to deliver ^H5414 us into the hand ^H3027 of the Amorites, ^H567 to destroy ^H8045 us.

33 Who went ^H1980 in the way ^H1870 before ^H6440 you , to search you out ^H8446 a place ^H4725 to pitch your tents ^H2583 in , in fire ^H784 by night, ^H3915 to show ^H7200 you by what ^H834 way ^H1870 ye should go, ^H1980 and in a cloud ^H6051 by day. ^H3119

34 And the LORD ^H3068 heard ^H8085 ^H853 the voice ^H6963 of your words, ^H1697 and was wroth, ^H7107 and swore, ^H7650 saying, ^H559

35 Surely ^H518 there shall not one ^H376 of these ^H428 men ^H376 of this ^H2088 evil ^H7451 generation ^H1755 see ^H7200 ^H853 that good ^H2896 land, ^H776 which ^H834 I swore ^H7650 to give ^H5414 unto your fathers, ^H1

36 Save ^H2108 Caleb ^H3612 the son ^H1121 of Jephunneh; ^H3312 he ^H1931 shall see ^H7200 it , and to him will I give ^H5414 ^H853 the land ^H776 that ^H834 he hath trodden ^H1869 upon , and to his children, ^H1121 because ^H3282 ^H834 he hath wholly ^H4390 followed ^H310 the LORD. ^H3068

39 Moreover your little ones, ^H2945 which ^H834 ye said ^H559 should be ^H1961 a prey, ^H957 and your children, ^H1121 which ^H834 in that day ^H3117 had no knowledge ^H3045 ^H3808 between good ^H2896 and evil, ^H7451 they ^H1992 shall go in ^H935 thither, ^H8033 and unto them will I give ^H5414 it , and they ^H1992 shall possess ^H3423 it.

40 But as for you, ^H859 turn ^H6437 you , and take your journey ^H5265 into the wilderness ^H4057 by the way ^H1870 of the Red ^H5488 sea. ^H3220

41 Then ye answered ^H6030 and said ^H559 unto ^H413 me , We have sinned ^H2398 against the LORD, ^H3068 we ^H587 will go up ^H5927 and fight, ^H3898 according to all ^H3605 that ^H834 the LORD ^H3068 our God ^H430 commanded ^H6680 us . And when ye had girded on ^H2296 every man ^H376 ^H853 his weapons ^H3627 of war, ^H4421 ye were ready ^H1951 to go up ^H5927 into the hill. ^H2022

42 And the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 unto ^H413 me, Say ^H559 unto them , Go not up ^H5927 ^H3808 , neither ^H3808 fight; ^H3898 for ^H3588 I am not ^H369 among ^H7130 you; lest ^H3808 ye be smitten ^H5062 before ^H6440 your enemies. ^H341

43 So I spoke ^H1696 unto ^H413 you ; and ye would not ^H3808 hear, ^H8085 but rebelled against ^H4784 ^H853 the commandment ^H6310 of the LORD, ^H3068 and went presumptuously up ^H5927 ^H2102 into the hill. ^H2022

44 And the Amorites, ^H567 which dwelt ^H3427 in that ^H1931 mountain, ^H2022 came out ^H3318 against ^H7125 you , and chased ^H7291 you, as ^H834 bees ^H1682 do, ^H6213 and destroyed ^H3807 you in Seir, ^H8165 even unto ^H5704 Hormah. ^H2767

45 And ye returned ^H7725 and wept ^H1058 before ^H6440 the LORD; ^H3068 but the LORD ^H3068 would not ^H3808 hearken ^H8085 to your voice, ^H6963 nor ^H3808 give ear ^H238 unto ^H413 you.

46 So ye abode ^H3427 in Kadesh ^H6946 many ^H7227 days, ^H3117 according unto the days ^H3117 that ^H834 ye abode ^H3427 there .
