1 അനന്തരം യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം തിരിഞ്ഞു ചെങ്കടല്‍ വഴിയായി മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു; നാം ഏറിയനാള്‍ സേയീര്‍പര്‍വ്വതത്തെ ചുറ്റിനടന്നു.

2 പിന്നെ യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു

3 നിങ്ങള്‍ ഈ പര്‍വ്വതം ചുറ്റിനടന്നതു മതി; വടക്കോട്ടു തിരിവിന്‍ .

4 നീ ജനത്തോടു കല്പിക്കേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്‍സേയീരില്‍ കുടിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഏശാവിന്റെ മക്കളായ നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അതിരില്‍കൂടി നിങ്ങള്‍ കടപ്പാന്‍ പോകുന്നു. അവര്‍ നിങ്ങളെ പേടിക്കും; ആകയാല്‍ ഏറ്റവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം.

5 നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരോടു പടയെടുക്കരുതുഅവരുടെ ദേശത്തു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ഒരു കാല്‍ വെപ്പാന്‍ പോലും ഇടം തരികയില്ല; സേയീര്‍പര്‍വ്വതം ഞാന്‍ ഏശാവിന്നു അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 നിങ്ങള്‍ അവരോടു ആഹാരം വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങി കഴിക്കേണം; വെള്ളവും വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങി കുടിക്കേണം.

7 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഈ മഹാമരുഭൂമിയില്‍ നീ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നതു അവന്‍ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഈ നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു; നിനക്കു യാതൊന്നിന്നും മുട്ടും വന്നിട്ടില്ല.

8 അങ്ങനെ നാം സേയീരില്‍ കുടിയിരുന്ന ഏശാവിന്റെ മക്കളായ നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഒഴിച്ചു അരാബവഴിയായി ഏലാത്തിന്റെയും എസ്യോന്‍ -ഗേബെരിന്റെയും അരികത്തുകൂടി കടന്നിട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞു മോവാബ് മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയായി കടന്നുപോന്നു.

9 അപ്പോള്‍ യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുമോവാബ്യരെ ഞെരുക്കരുതു; അവരോടു പടയെടുക്കയും അരുതു; ഞാന്‍ അവരുടെ ദേശത്തു നിനക്കു ഒരു അവകാശം തരികയില്ല; ആര്‍ദേശത്തെ ഞാന്‍ ലോത്തിന്റെ മക്കള്‍ക്കു അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു -

10 വലിപ്പവും പെരുപ്പവും അനാക്യരെപ്പോലെ പൊക്കവുമുള്ള ജാതിയായ ഏമ്യര്‍ പണ്ടു അവിടെ പാര്‍ത്തിരുന്നു.

11 ഇവരെ അനാക്യരെപ്പോലെ മല്ലന്മാര്‍ എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചുവരുന്നു; മോവാബ്യരോ അവര്‍ക്കും ഏമ്യര്‍ എന്നു പേര്‍ പറയുന്നു.

12 ഹോര്‍യ്യരും പണ്ടു സേയീരില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ ഏശാവിന്റെ മക്കള്‍ അവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളകയും സംഹരിക്കയും അവര്‍ക്കും പകരം കുടിപാര്‍ക്കയും ചെയ്തു; യിസ്രായേലിന്നു യഹോവ കൊടുത്ത അവകാശദേശത്തു അവര്‍ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ. -

13 ഇപ്പോള്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു സേരെദ് തോടു കടപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നാം സേരെദ് തോടു കടന്നു;

14 നാം കാദേശ് ബര്‍ന്നേയയില്‍ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടതുമുതല്‍ സേരെദ് തോടു കടക്കുംവരെയുള്ള കാലം മുപ്പത്തെട്ടു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അതിന്നിടയില്‍ യോദ്ധാക്കളായിരുന്ന തലമുറ ഒക്കെയും യഹോവ അവരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പാളയത്തില്‍നിന്നു മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയി.

15 അവര്‍ മുടിഞ്ഞുതീരുംവരെ യഹോവയുടെ കൈ അവരെ പാളയത്തില്‍നിന്നു നശിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ തക്കവണ്ണം അവര്‍ക്കും വിരോധമായിരുന്നു.

16 ഇങ്ങനെ യോദ്ധാക്കള്‍ ഒക്കെയും ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില്‍നിന്നു മരിച്ചു ഒടുങ്ങിയശേഷം

17 യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു

18 നീ ഇന്നു ആര്‍ എന്ന മോവാബ്യദേശത്തുകൂടി കടപ്പാന്‍ പോകുന്നു.

19 അമ്മോന്യരോടു അടുത്തു ചെല്ലുമ്പോള്‍ അവരെ ഞെരുക്കരുതു; അവരോടു പടയെടുക്കയും അരുതു; ഞാന്‍ അമ്മോന്യരുടെ ദേശത്തു നിനക്കു അവകാശം തരികയില്ല; അതു ഞാന്‍ ലോത്തിന്റെ മക്കള്‍ക്കു അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. -

20 അതും മല്ലന്മാരുടെ ദേശമെന്നു വിചാരിച്ചുവരുന്നു; മല്ലന്മാര്‍ പണ്ടു അവിടെ പാര്‍ത്തിരുന്നു; അമ്മോന്യര്‍ അവരെ സംസുമ്മ്യര്‍ എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

21 അവര്‍ വലിപ്പവും പെരുപ്പവും അനാക്യരെപ്പോലെ പൊക്കവുമുള്ള ജാതിയായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും യഹോവ അവരെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില്‍നിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ അവരുടെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കി അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു കുടിപാര്‍ത്തു.

22 അവന്‍ സേയീരില്‍ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്ന ഏശാവിന്റെ മക്കള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ, അവന്‍ ഹോര്‍യ്യരെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പില്‍നിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടു അവര്‍ അവരുടെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കി അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു ഇന്നുവരെയും പാര്‍ക്കുംന്നു.

23 കഫ്തോരില്‍നിന്നു വന്ന കഫ്തോര്‍യ്യരും ഗസ്സാവരെയുള്ള ഊരുകളില്‍ പാര്‍ത്തിരുന്ന അവ്യരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു അവരുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു കുടിപാര്‍ത്തു -

24 നിങ്ങള്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു അര്‍ന്നോന്‍ താഴ്വര കടപ്പിന്‍ ; ഇതാ, ഞാന്‍ ഹെശ്ബോനിലെ അമോര്‍യ്യരാജാവായ സീഹോനെയും അവന്റെ ദേശത്തെയും നിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവനോടു പടവെട്ടി അതു കൈവശമാക്കുവാന്‍ തുടങ്ങുക.

25 നിന്നെയുള്ള പേടിയും ഭീതിയും ആകാശത്തിങ്കീഴെങ്ങും ഉള്ള ജാതികളുടെ മേല്‍ വരുത്തുവാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ ഇന്നു തന്നേ തുടങ്ങും; അവര്‍ നിന്റെ ശ്രുതി കേട്ടു നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം വിറെക്കുകയും നടുങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യും.

26 പിന്നെ ഞാന്‍ കെദേമോത്ത് മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ നിന്നു ഹെശ്ബോനിലെ രാജാവായ സീഹോന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ സമാധാനവാക്കുകളോടുകൂടെ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു

27 ഞാന്‍ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു കൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാന്‍ അനുവദിക്കേണമേ; ഞാന്‍ ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ മാറാതെ പെരുവഴിയില്‍കൂടി മാത്രം നടക്കും.

28 സേയീരില്‍ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്ന ഏശാവിന്റെ മക്കളും ആരില്‍ പാര്‍ക്കുംന്ന മോവാബ്യരും എനിക്കു തന്നതുപോലെ നീ വിലെക്കു തരുന്ന ആഹാരം ഞാന്‍ കഴിക്കയും വിലെക്കു തരുന്ന വെള്ളം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളാം.

29 യോര്‍ദ്ദാന്‍ കടന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തരുന്ന ദേശത്തു എത്തുവോളം കാല്‍നടയായി പോകുവാന്‍ മാത്രം അനുവദിക്കേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

30 എന്നാല്‍ നാം തന്റെ ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകുവാന്‍ ഹെശ്ബോനിലെ രാജാവായ സീഹോന്‍ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല; ഇന്നു കാണുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനെ നിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ മനസ്സു കടുപ്പിച്ചു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം കഠിനമാക്കി.

31 യഹോവ എന്നോടുഞാന്‍ സീഹോനെയും അവന്റെ ദേശത്തെയും നിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു അടക്കുവാന്‍ തുടങ്ങുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

32 അങ്ങനെ സീഹോനും അവന്റെ സര്‍വ്വജനവും നമ്മുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടുവന്നു യാഹാസില്‍വെച്ചു പടയേറ്റു.

33 നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവനെ നമ്മുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചു; നാം അവനെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും അവന്റെ സര്‍വ്വജനത്തെയും സംഹരിച്ചു.

34 അക്കാലത്തു നാം അവന്റെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളും പിടിച്ചു പട്ടണംതോറും പുരുഷന്മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും ഉന്മൂലനാശം ചെയ്തു; ഒരുത്തനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല.

35 നാല്‍ക്കാലികളെയും നാം പിടിച്ച പട്ടണങ്ങളിലെ കൊള്ളയും മാത്രം നാം നമുക്കായിട്ടു എടുത്തു.

36 അര്‍ന്നോന്‍ താഴ്വരയുടെ അറ്റത്തുള്ള അരോവേരും താഴ്വരയിലെ പട്ടണവുംമുതല്‍ ഗിലെയാദ്വരെ നമ്മുടെ കൈകൂ എത്താതെ ഒരു പട്ടണവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സകലവും നമ്മുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചു.

37 അമ്മോന്യരുടെ ദേശവും യബ്ബോക്ക്‍ നദിയുടെ ഒരു വശമൊക്കെയും മലനാട്ടിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോടു വിലക്കിയ ഇടങ്ങളും മാത്രം നീ ആക്രമിച്ചില്ല.

25 This ^H2088 day ^H3117 will I begin ^H2490 to put ^H5414 the dread ^H6343 of thee and the fear ^H3374 of thee upon ^H5921 the nations ^H5971 that are under ^H8478 the whole ^H3605 heaven, ^H8064 who ^H834 shall hear ^H8085 report ^H8088 of thee , and shall tremble, ^H7264 and be in anguish ^H2342 because ^H4480 ^H6440 of thee.

26 And I sent ^H7971 messengers ^H4397 out of the wilderness ^H4480 ^H4057 of Kedemoth ^H6932 unto ^H413 Sihon ^H5511 king ^H4428 of Heshbon ^H2809 with words ^H1697 of peace, ^H7965 saying, ^H559

27 Let me pass ^H5674 through thy land: ^H776 I will go ^H1980 along by the highway ^H1870 ^H1870 , I will neither ^H3808 turn ^H5493 unto the right hand ^H3225 nor to the left. ^H8040

28 Thou shalt sell ^H7666 me meat ^H400 for money, ^H3701 that I may eat; ^H398 and give ^H5414 me water ^H4325 for money, ^H3701 that I may drink: ^H8354 only ^H7535 I will pass through ^H5674 on my feet; ^H7272

30 But Sihon ^H5511 king ^H4428 of Heshbon ^H2809 would ^H14 not ^H3808 let us pass ^H5674 by him: for ^H3588 the LORD ^H3068 thy God ^H430 hardened ^H7185 ^H853 his spirit, ^H7307 and made his heart obstinate ^H553 ^H853 ^H3824 , that ^H4616 he might deliver ^H5414 him into thy hand, ^H3027 as appeareth this ^H2088 day. ^H3117

31 And the LORD ^H3068 said ^H559 unto ^H413 me, Behold, ^H7200 I have begun ^H2490 to give ^H5414 ^H853 Sihon ^H5511 and his land ^H776 before ^H6440 thee: begin ^H2490 to possess, ^H3423 that thou mayest inherit ^H3423 ^H853 his land. ^H776

32 Then Sihon ^H5511 came out ^H3318 against ^H7125 us, he ^H1931 and all ^H3605 his people, ^H5971 to fight ^H4421 at Jahaz. ^H3096

33 And the LORD ^H3068 our God ^H430 delivered ^H5414 him before ^H6440 us ; and we smote ^H5221 ^H853 him , and his sons, ^H1121 and all ^H3605 his people. ^H5971
