1 സംഭവിച്ചതൊക്കെയും അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ മൊർദ്ദെഖായി വസ്ത്രം കീറി രട്ടുടുത്തു വെണ്ണീർ വാരി ഇട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ നടുവിൽ ചെന്നു കൈപ്പോടെ അത്യുച്ചത്തിൽ നിലവിളിച്ചു.
2 അവൻ രാജാവിന്റെ പടിവാതിലോളവും വന്നു: എന്നാൽ രട്ടുടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു ആർക്കും രാജാവിന്റെ പടിവാതിലിന്നകത്തു കടന്നുകൂടായിരുന്നു.
3 രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പനയും തീർപ്പും ചെന്ന ഓരോ സംസ്ഥാനത്തും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ മഹാദുഃഖവും ഉപവാസവും കരച്ചലും വിലാപവും ഉണ്ടായി; പലരും രട്ടുടുത്തു വെണീറ്റിൽ കിടന്നു.
4 എസ്തേരിന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരത്തികളും ഷണ്ഡന്മാരും വന്നു അതു രാജ്ഞിയെ അറിയിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൾ അത്യന്തം വ്യസനിച്ചു മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയുടെ രട്ടു നീക്കി അവനെ ഉടുപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു വസ്ത്രം കൊടുത്തയച്ചു; എന്നാൽ അവൻ വാങ്ങിയില്ല.
5 അപ്പോൾ എസ്ഥേർ തന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കു രാജാവു ആക്കിയിരുന്ന ഷണ്ഡന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനായ ഹഥാക്കിനെ വിളിച്ചു, അതു എന്തെന്നും അതിന്റെ കാരണം എന്തെന്നും അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോയിവരുവാൻ അവന്നു കല്പന കൊടുത്തു.
6 അങ്ങനെ ഹഥാക്ൿ രാജാവിന്റെ പടിവാതിലിന്നു മുമ്പിൽ പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തു മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.
7 മൊർദ്ദെഖായി തനിക്കു സംഭവിച്ചതൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദന്മാരെ നശിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഹാമാൻ രാജഭണ്ഡാരത്തിലേക്കു കൊടുക്കാമെന്നു വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്ത ദ്രവ്യസംഖ്യയും അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.
8 അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശൂശനിൽ പരസ്യമാക്കിയിരുന്ന തീർപ്പിന്റെ പകർപ്പ് അവൻ അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കൊടുത്തു ഇതു എസ്ഥേരിനെ കാണിച്ചു വിവരം അറിയിപ്പാനും അവൾ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ചെന്നു തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി അപേക്ഷയും യാചനയും കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവളോടു ആജ്ഞാപിപ്പാനും പറഞ്ഞു.
9 അങ്ങനെ ഹഥാക്ൿ ചെന്നു മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയുടെ വാക്കു എസ്ഥേരിനെ അറിയിച്ചു.
10 എസ്ഥേർ മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയോടു ചെന്നു പറവാൻ ഹഥാക്കിന്നു കല്പന കൊടുത്തതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:
11 യാതൊരു പുരുഷനോ സ്ത്രീയോ വിളിക്കപ്പെടാതെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അകത്തെ പ്രാകാരത്തിൽ ചെന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ജീവനോടിരിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം രാജാവു പൊൻ ചെങ്കോൽ ആയാളുടെ നേരെ നീട്ടാഞ്ഞാൽ ആയാളെ കൊല്ലേണമെന്നു ഒരു നിയമം ഉള്ളപ്രകാരം രാജാവിന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരും രാജാവിന്റെ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെ ജനവും അറിയുന്നു; എന്നാൽ എന്നെ ഈ മുപ്പതു ദിവസത്തിന്നകത്തു രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുവാൻ വിളിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.
12 അവർ എസ്ഥേരിന്റെ വാക്കു മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയോടു അറിയിച്ചു.
13 മൊർദ്ദെഖായി എസ്ഥേരിനോടു മറുപടി പറവാൻ കല്പിച്ചതു: നീ രാജധാനിയിൽ ഇരിക്കയാൽ എല്ലായെഹൂദന്മാരിലുംവെച്ചു രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടുകൊള്ളാമെന്നു നീ വിചാരിക്കേണ്ടാ.
14 നീ ഈ സമയത്തു മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർക്കു മറ്റൊരു സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു ഉദ്ധാരണവും രക്ഷയും ഉണ്ടാകും; എന്നാൽ നീയും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും നശിച്ചുപോകും; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളോരു കാലത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ലയോ നീ രാജസ്ഥാനത്തു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു? ആർക്കു അറിയാം?
15 അതിന്നു എസ്ഥേർ മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയോടു മറുപടി പറവാൻ കല്പിച്ചതു.
16 നീ ചെന്നു ശൂശനിൽ ഉള്ള എല്ലായെഹൂദന്മാരെയും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂട്ടി: നിങ്ങൾ മൂന്നു ദിവസം രാവും പകലും തിന്നുകയോ കുടിക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ എനിക്കു വേണ്ടി ഉപവസിപ്പിൻ; ഞാനും എന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരത്തികളും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഉപവസിക്കും; പിന്നെ ഞാൻ നിയമപ്രകാരമല്ലെങ്കിലും രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലും; ഞാൻ നശിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നശിക്കട്ടെ.
17 അങ്ങനെ മൊർദ്ദെഖായി ചെന്നു എസ്ഥേർ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തു.

2 And came H935 W-VQY3MS even H5704 PREP before H6440 L-CMP the king H4428 D-NMS \'s gate H8179 : for H3588 CONJ none H369 NPAR might enter H935 L-VQFC into H413 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS \'s gate H8179 NMS clothed H3830 with sackcloth H8242 .
3 And in every H3605 WB-CMS province H4082 , whithersoever H834 RPRO the king H4428 D-NMS \'s commandment H1697 CMS and his decree H1881 came H5060 , there was great H1419 AMS mourning H60 among the Jews H3064 , and fasting H6685 , and weeping H1065 , and wailing H4553 ; and many H7227 lay H3331 in sackcloth H8242 NMS and ashes H665 .
4 So Esther H635 \'s maids H5291 and her chamberlains H5631 came H935 and told H5046 it her . Then was the queen H4436 exceedingly H3966 ADV grieved H2342 ; and she sent H7971 raiment H899 to clothe H3847 Mordecai H4782 , and to take away H5493 his sackcloth H8242 from M-PREP-3MS him : but he received H6901 it not H3808 W-NPAR .
5 Then called H7121 W-VQY2MS Esther H635 for Hatach H2047 , one of the king H4428 D-NMS \'s chamberlains H5631 , whom H834 RPRO he had appointed H5975 to attend upon H6440 her , and gave him a commandmen H6680 to H5921 PREP Mordecai H4782 , to know H3045 L-VQFC what H4100 IPRO it H2088 PMS was , and why H5921 W-PREP it H2088 was .

8 Also he gave H5414 him the copy H6572 of the writing H3791 of the decree H1881 that H834 RPRO was given H5414 VQQ3MS at Shushan H7800 to destroy H8045 them , to show H7200 it unto Esther H635 , and to declare H5046 it unto her , and to charge H6680 her H5921 PREP that she should go in H935 L-VQFC unto H413 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS , to make supplication H2603 unto him , and to make request H1245 before H6440 him for H5921 PREP her people H5971 .
9 And Hatach H2047 came H935 W-VQY3MS and told H5046 W-VHY3MS Esther H635 the words H1697 CMP of Mordecai H4782 .
10 Again Esther H635 spoke H559 W-VQY3FS unto Hatach H2047 , and gave him commandment H6680 unto H413 PREP Mordecai H4782 ;
11 All H3605 NMS the king H4428 D-NMS \'s servants H5650 , and the people H5971 of the king H4428 D-NMS \'s provinces H4082 , do know H3045 , that H834 RPRO whosoever H3605 NMS , whether H834 RPRO man H376 NMS or woman H802 , shall come H935 VQY3MS unto H413 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS into H413 PREP the inner H6442 court H2691 , who H834 RPRO is not H3808 ADV called H7121 VNY3MS , there is one H259 OFS law H1881 of his to put him to death H4191 , except H905 such to whom H834 RPRO the king H4428 D-NMS shall hold out H3447 the golden H2091 scepter H8275 , that he may live H2421 : but I H589 W-PPRO-1MS have not H3808 NADV been called H7121 to come in H935 L-VQFC unto H413 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS these H2088 DPRO thirty H7970 days H3117 NMS .
12 And they told H5046 to Mordecai H4782 Esther H635 \'s words H1697 CMP .
13 Then Mordecai H4782 commanded H559 W-VQY3MS to answer H7725 L-VHFC Esther H635 , Think H1819 not H408 NPAR with thyself H5315 that thou shalt escape H4422 in the king H4428 D-NMS \'s house H1004 CMS , more than all H3605 M-CMS the Jews H3064 .
14 For H3588 CONJ if H518 PART thou altogether holdest thy peace H2790 VHI2MP at this H2063 D-DFS time H6256 , then shall there enlargement H7305 and deliverance H2020 arise H5975 to the Jews H3064 from another place H4725 ; but thou H859 and thy father H1 \'s house H1004 W-NMS shall be destroyed H6 : and who H4310 W-IPRO knoweth H3045 VQPMS whether H518 PART thou art come H5060 to the kingdom H4438 for such a time H6256 L-CMS as this H2063 ?
15 Then Esther H635 bade H559 W-VQY3FS them return H7725 L-VHFC Mordecai H4782 this answer ,
16 Go H1980 VQI2MS , gather together H3664 all H3605 NMS the Jews H3064 that are present H4672 in Shushan H7800 , and fast H6684 ye for H5921 PREP-1MS me , and neither H408 W-NPAR eat H398 nor H408 W-NPAR drink H8354 three H7969 BMS days H3117 NMP , night H3915 GMS or day H3117 : I H589 PPRO-1MS also H1571 CONJ and my maidens H5291 will fast H6684 likewise H3651 ADV ; and so H3651 ADV will I go in H935 VQI1MS unto H413 PREP the king H4428 D-NMS , which H834 RPRO is not H3808 ADV according to the law H1881 : and if H834 RPRO I perish H6 , I perish H6 .
17 So Mordecai H4782 went his way H5674 , and did H6213 W-VQY3MS according to all H3605 K-NMS that H834 RPRO Esther H635 had commanded H6680 him H5921 PREP-3MS .
