1 മൂന്നാം ദിവസം എസ്ഥേര്‍ രാജവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു രാജധാനിയുടെ അകത്തെ പ്രാകാരത്തില്‍ ചെന്നു രാജഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ നേരെ നിന്നു; രാജാവു രാജധാനിയില്‍ രാജഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ വാതിലിന്നു നേരെ തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തില്‍ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.
2 എസ്ഥേര്‍രാജ്ഞി പ്രാകാരത്തില്‍ നിലക്കുന്നതു രാജാവു കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ അവന്നു അവളോടു കൃപതോന്നി തന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഇരുന്ന പൊന്‍ ചെങ്കോല്‍ രാജാവു എസ്ഥേരിന്റെ നേരെ നീട്ടി; എസ്ഥേര്‍ അടുത്തുചെന്നു ചെങ്കോലിന്റെ അഗ്രം തൊട്ടു.
3 രാജാവു അവളോടുഎസ്ഥേര്‍രാജ്ഞിയേ, എന്തു വേണം? എന്താകുന്നു നിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ? രാജ്യത്തില്‍ പാതിയോളമായാലും നിനക്കു തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 അതിന്നു എസ്ഥേര്‍രാജാവിന്നു തിരുവുള്ളം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടു ഞാന്‍ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന വിരുന്നിന്നു രാജാവും ഹാമാനും ഇന്നു വരേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
5 എസ്ഥേര്‍ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ ഹാമാനെ വേഗം വരുത്തുവിന്‍ എന്നു രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ രാജാവും ഹാമാനും എസ്ഥേര്‍ ഒരുക്കിയ വിരുന്നിന്നു ചെന്നു.
6 വീഞ്ഞുവിരുന്നില്‍ രാജാവു എസ്ഥേരിനോടുനിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ എന്തു? അതു നിനക്കു ലഭിക്കും; നിന്റെ ആഗ്രഹവും എന്തു? രാജ്യത്തില്‍ പാതിയോളമായാലും അതു നിവര്‍ത്തിച്ചുതരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7 അതിന്നു എസ്ഥേര്‍എന്റെ അപേക്ഷയും ആഗ്രഹവും ഇതാകുന്നു
8 രാജാവിന്നു എന്നോടു കൃപയുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ നലകുവാനും എന്റെ ആഗ്രഹം നിവര്‍ത്തിപ്പാനും രാജാവിന്നു തിരുവുള്ളം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ രാജാവും ഹാമാനും ഞാന്‍ ഇനിയും ഒരുക്കുന്ന വിരുന്നിന്നു വരേണം; നാളെ ഞാന്‍ രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
9 അന്നു ഹാമാന്‍ സന്തോഷവും ആനന്ദവുമുള്ളവനായി പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോയി; എന്നാല്‍ രാജാവിന്റെ വാതില്‍ക്കല്‍ മൊര്‍ദ്ദെഖായി എഴുന്നേല്‍ക്കാതെയും തന്നെ കൂശാതെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു ഹാമാന്‍ മൊര്‍ദ്ദെഖായിയുടെ നേരെ കോപം നിറഞ്ഞു.
10 എങ്കിലും ഹാമാന്‍ തന്നെത്താന്‍ അടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു തന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ ചെന്നു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെയും ഭാര്യയായ സേരെശിനെയും വിളിപ്പിച്ചു.
11 ഹാമാന്‍ അവരോടു തന്റെ ധനമാഹാത്മ്യവും പുത്രബഹുത്വവും രാജാവു തനിക്കു നല്കിയ ഉന്നതപദവിയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും രാജഭൃത്യന്മാര്‍ക്കും മേലായി തന്നെ ഉയര്‍ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതും വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
12 എസ്ഥേര്‍രാജ്ഞിയും താന്‍ ഒരുക്കിയ വിരുന്നിന്നു എന്നെയല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരെയും രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ ചെല്ലുവാന്‍ അനുവദിച്ചില്ല; നാളെയും രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ വിരുന്നിന്നു ചെല്ലുവാന്‍ എന്നെ ക്ഷണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
13 എങ്കിലും യെഹൂദനായ മൊര്‍ദ്ദെഖായി രാജാവിന്റെ വാതില്‍ക്കല്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കാണുന്നേടത്തോളം ഇതൊന്നുംകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു ഒരു തൃപ്തിയും ഇല്ല എന്നും ഹാമാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
14 അതിന്നു അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ സേരെശും അവന്റെ സകല സ്നേഹിതന്മാരും അവനോടുഅമ്പതു മുഴം ഉയരമുള്ള ഒരു കഴുമരം ഉണ്ടാക്കട്ടെ; മൊര്‍ദ്ദെഖായിയെ അതിന്മേല്‍ തൂക്കിക്കളയേണ്ടതിന്നു നാളെ രാവിലെ നീ രാജാവിനോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കേണം; പിന്നെ നിനക്കു സന്തോഷമായി രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ വിരുന്നിന്നു പോകാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഈ കാര്യം ഹാമാന്നു ബോധിച്ചു; അവന്‍ കഴുമരം ഉണ്ടാക്കിച്ചു.
1 Now it came to pass H1961 on the third H7992 day, H3117 that Esther H635 put on H3847 her royal H4438 apparel , and stood H5975 in the inner H6442 court H2691 of the king's H4428 house, H1004 over against H5227 the king's H4428 house: H1004 and the king H4428 sat H3427 upon H5921 his royal H4438 throne H3678 in the royal H4438 house, H1004 over against H5227 the gate H6607 of the house. 2 And it was H1961 so , when the king H4428 saw H7200 H853 Esther H635 the queen H4436 standing H5975 in the court, H2691 that she obtained H5375 favor H2580 in his sight: H5869 and the king H4428 held out H3447 to Esther H635 H853 the golden H2091 scepter H8275 that H834 was in his hand. H3027 So Esther H635 drew near, H7126 and touched H5060 the top H7218 of the scepter. H8275
3 Then said H559 the king H4428 unto her, What H4100 wilt thou, queen H4436 Esther H635 ? and what H4100 is thy request H1246 ? it shall be even given H5414 thee to H5704 the half H2677 of the kingdom. H4438
4 And Esther H635 answered, H559 If H518 it seem good H2895 unto H5921 the king, H4428 let the king H4428 and Haman H2001 come H935 this day H3117 unto H413 the banquet H4960 that H834 I have prepared H6213 for him.
5 Then the king H4428 said, H559 Cause H853 Haman H2001 to make haste, H4116 that he may do H6213 H853 as Esther H635 hath said. H1697 So the king H4428 and Haman H2001 came H935 to H413 the banquet H4960 that H834 Esther H635 had prepared. H6213
6 And the king H4428 said H559 unto Esther H635 at the banquet H4960 of wine, H3196 What H4100 is thy petition H7596 ? and it shall be granted H5414 thee : and what H4100 is thy request H1246 ? even to H5704 the half H2677 of the kingdom H4438 it shall be performed. H6213
7 Then answered H6030 Esther, H635 and said, H559 My petition H7596 and my request H1246 is ;
8 If H518 I have found H4672 favor H2580 in the sight H5869 of the king, H4428 and if H518 it please H2895 H5921 the king H4428 to grant H5414 H853 my petition, H7596 and to perform H6213 H853 my request, H1246 let the king H4428 and Haman H2001 come H935 to H413 the banquet H4960 that H834 I shall prepare H6213 for them , and I will do H6213 tomorrow H4279 as the king H4428 hath said. H1697
9 Then went Haman forth H3318 H2001 that H1931 day H3117 joyful H8056 and with a glad H2896 heart: H3820 but when Haman H2001 saw H7200 H853 Mordecai H4782 in the king's H4428 gate, H8179 that he stood not up H6965 H3808 , nor H3808 moved H2111 for H4480 him, H2001 he H2001 was full H4390 of indignation H2534 against H5921 Mordecai. 10 Nevertheless Haman H2001 refrained himself: H662 and when he came H935 H413 home, H1004 he sent H7971 and called H935 for H853 his friends, H157 and Zeresh H2238 his wife. H802
11 And Haman H2001 told H5608 them of H853 the glory H3519 of his riches, H6239 and the multitude H7230 of his children, H1121 and all H3605 the things wherein H834 the king H4428 had promoted H1431 him , and how H834 he had advanced H5375 him above H5921 the princes H8269 and servants H5650 of the king. 12 Haman H2001 said H559 moreover, H637 Yea, Esther H635 the queen H4436 did let no H3808 man come in H935 with H5973 the king H4428 unto H413 the banquet H4960 that H834 she had prepared H6213 but H3588 H518 myself ; and tomorrow H4279 am I H589 invited H7121 unto her also H1571 with H5973 the king. H4428
13 Yet all H3605 this H2088 availeth H7737 me nothing, H369 so long H3605 H6256 as I H589 see H7200 H853 Mordecai H4782 the Jew H3064 sitting H3427 at the king's H4428 gate. H8179
14 Then said H559 Zeresh H2238 his wife H802 and all H3605 his friends H157 unto him , Let a gallows H6086 be made H6213 of fifty H2572 cubits H520 high, H1364 and tomorrow H1242 speak H559 thou unto the king H4428 that H853 Mordecai H4782 may be hanged H8518 thereon: H5921 then go H935 thou in merrily H8056 with H5973 the king H4428 unto H413 the banquet. H4960 And the thing H1697 pleased H3190 H6440 Haman; H2001 and he caused the gallows H6086 to be made. H6213
