1 എന്നാല്‍ ലേവികുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു പുരുഷന്‍ പോയി ഒരു ലേവ്യകന്യകയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
2 അവള്‍ ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. അവന്‍ സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ളവന്‍ എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനെ മൂന്നു മാസം ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു.
3 അവനെ പിന്നെ ഒളിച്ചുവെപ്പാന്‍ കഴിയാതെ ആയപ്പോള്‍ അവള്‍ ഒരു ഞാങ്ങണപ്പെട്ടകം വാങ്ങി, അതിന്നു പശയും കീലും തേച്ചു, പൈതലിനെ അതില്‍ കിടത്തി, നദിയുടെ അരികില്‍ ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില്‍ വെച്ചു.
4 അവന്നു എന്തു ഭവിക്കുമെന്നു അറിവാന്‍ അവന്റെ പെങ്ങള്‍ ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു.
5 അപ്പോള്‍ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി നദിയില്‍ കുളിപ്പാന്‍ വന്നു; അവളുടെ ദാസിമാര്‍ നദീതീരത്തുകൂടി നടന്നു; അവള്‍ ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയില്‍ പെട്ടകം കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ അതിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന്‍ ദാസിയെ അയച്ചു.
6 അവള്‍ അതു തുറന്നാറെ പൈതലിനെ കണ്ടുകുട്ടി ഇതാ, കരയുന്നു. അവള്‍ക്കു അതിനോടു അലിവുതോന്നിഇതു എബ്രായരുടെ പൈതങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7 അവന്റെ പെങ്ങള്‍ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയോടുഈ പൈതലിന്നു മുലകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു എബ്രായസ്ത്രീയെ ഞാന്‍ ചെന്നു വിളിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
8 ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടുചെന്നു കൊണ്ടു വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. കന്യക ചെന്നു പൈതലിന്റെ അമ്മയെ വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
9 ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടുനീ ഈ പൈതലിനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളര്‍ത്തേണം; ഞാന്‍ നിനക്കു ശമ്പളം തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സ്ത്രി പൈതലിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളര്‍ത്തി.
10 പൈതല്‍ വളര്‍ന്നശേഷം അവള്‍ അവനെ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടു പോയി, അവന്‍ അവള്‍ക്കു മകനായിഞാന്‍ അവനെ വെള്ളത്തില്‍ നിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവള്‍ അവന്നു മോശെ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
11 ആ കാലത്തു മോശെ മുതിര്‍ന്നശേഷം അവന്‍ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചെന്നു അവരുടെ ഭാരമുള്ള വേല നോക്കി, തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരില്‍ ഒരു എബ്രായനെ ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യന്‍ അടിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
12 അവന്‍ അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും നോക്കീട്ടു ആരും ഇല്ലെന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ അടിച്ചു കൊന്നു മണലില്‍ മറവുചെയ്തു.
13 പിറ്റേ ദിവസവും അവന്‍ ചെന്നപ്പോള്‍ രണ്ടു എബ്രായ പുരുഷന്മാര്‍ തമ്മില്‍ ശണ്ഠയിടുന്നതു കണ്ടു, അന്യായം ചെയ്തവനോടുനിന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ അടിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
14 അതിന്നു അവന്‍ നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു പ്രഭുവും ന്യായാധിപതിയും ആക്കിയവന്‍ ആര്‍? മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ കൊന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെയും കൊല്ലുവാന്‍ ഭാവിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അപ്പോള്‍ കാര്യം പ്രസിദ്ധമായിപ്പോയല്ലോ എന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു പേടിച്ചു.
15 ഫറവോന്‍ ഈ കാര്യം കേട്ടാറെ മോശെയെ കൊല്ലുവാന്‍ അന്വേഷിച്ചു. മോശെ ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍നിന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയി, മിദ്യാന്‍ ദേശത്തു ചെന്നു പാര്‍ത്തു; അവന്‍ ഒരു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ ഇരുന്നു.
16 മിദ്യാനിലെ പുരോഹിതന്നു ഏഴു പുത്രിമാര്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവര്‍ വന്നു അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകള്‍ക്കു കുടിപ്പാന്‍ വെള്ളം കോരി തൊട്ടികള്‍ നിറെച്ചു.
17 എന്നാല്‍ ഇടയന്മാര്‍ വന്നു അവരെ ആട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞുഅപ്പോള്‍ മോശെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു അവരുടെ ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു.
18 അവര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനായ റെഗൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നപ്പോള്‍നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്നു ഇത്രവേഗം വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവന്‍ ചോദിച്ചു.
19 ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യന്‍ ഇടയന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില്‍നിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വെള്ളം കോരിത്തന്നു ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
20 അവന്‍ തന്റെ പുത്രിമാരോടുഅവന്‍ എവിടെ? നിങ്ങള്‍ അവനെ വിട്ടേച്ചു പോന്നതെന്തു? ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാന്‍ അവനെ വിളിപ്പിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
21 മോശെക്കു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാര്‍പ്പാന്‍ സമ്മതമായി; അവന്‍ മോശെക്കു തന്റെ മകള്‍ സിപ്പോറയെ കൊടുത്തു.
22 അവള്‍ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചുഞാന്‍ അന്യദേശത്തു പരദേശി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ഗേര്‍ശോം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
23 ഏറെ നാള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു മരിച്ചു. യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കള്‍ അടിമവേല നിമിത്തം നെടുവീര്‍പ്പിട്ടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അടിമവേല ഹേതുവായുള്ള നിലവിള ദൈവസന്നിധിയില്‍ എത്തി.
24 ദൈവം അവരുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു; ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും തനിക്കുള്ള നിയമവും ഔര്‍ത്തു.
25 ദൈവം യിസ്രായേല്‍മക്കളെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; ദൈവം അറിഞ്ഞു.

4 And his sister H269 stood H3320 afar off H4480 H7350 , to know H3045 what H4100 would be done H6213 to him.
5 And the daughter H1323 of Pharaoh H6547 came down H3381 to wash H7364 herself at H5921 the river; H2975 and her maidens H5291 walked along H1980 by H5921 the river's H2975 side; H3027 and when she saw H7200 H853 the ark H8392 among H8432 the flags, H5488 she sent H7971 H853 her maid H519 to fetch H3947 it.
6 And when she had opened H6605 it , she saw the child: H3206 and, behold, H2009 the babe H5288 wept. H1058 And she had compassion H2550 on H5921 him , and said, H559 This H2088 is one of the Hebrews' children H4480 H3206. H5680
7 Then said H559 his sister H269 to H413 Pharaoh's H6547 daughter, H1323 Shall I go H1980 and call H7121 to thee a nurse H802 H3243 of H4480 the Hebrew women, H5680 that she may nurse H3243 H853 the child H3206 for thee?
8 And Pharaoh's H6547 daughter H1323 said H559 to her, Go. H1980 And the maid H5959 went H1980 and called H7121 the child's H3206 H853 mother. H517
9 And Pharaoh's H6547 daughter H1323 said H559 unto her , Take this child away H1980 H853 H2088 H3206 , and nurse H3243 it for me , and I H589 will give H5414 thee H853 thy wages. H7939 And the woman H802 took H3947 the child, H3206 and nursed H5134 it.
10 And the child H3206 grew, H1431 and she brought H935 him unto Pharaoh's H6547 daughter, H1323 and he became H1961 her son. H1121 And she called H7121 his name H8034 Moses: H4872 and she said, H559 Because H3588 I drew H4871 him out of H4480 the water. H4325
11 And it came to pass H1961 in those H1992 days, H3117 when Moses H4872 was grown, H1431 that he went out H3318 unto H413 his brethren, H251 and looked H7200 on their burdens: H5450 and he spied H7200 an Egyptian H376 H4713 smiting H5221 a Hebrew H376 H5680 , one of his brethren H4480 H251 .
12 And he looked H6437 this way H3541 and that way, H3541 and when he saw H7200 that H3588 there was no H369 man, H376 he slew H5221 H853 the Egyptian, H4713 and hid H2934 him in the sand. H2344
13 And when he went out H3318 the second H8145 day, H3117 behold, H2009 two H8147 men H376 of the Hebrews H5680 strove together: H5327 and he said H559 to him that did the wrong, H7563 Wherefore H4100 smitest H5221 thou thy fellow H7453 ?
14 And he said, H559 Who H4310 made H7760 thee a prince H8269 and a judge H8199 over H5921 us? intendest H559 thou H859 to kill H2026 me, as H834 thou killedst H2026 H853 the Egyptian H4713 ? And Moses H4872 feared, H3372 and said, H559 Surely H403 this thing H1697 is known. H3045
15 Now when Pharaoh H6547 heard H8085 this H2088 H853 thing, H1697 he sought H1245 to slay H2026 H853 Moses. H4872 But Moses H4872 fled H1272 from the face H4480 H6440 of Pharaoh, H6547 and dwelt H3427 in the land H776 of Midian: H4080 and he sat down H3427 by H5921 a well. H875
16 Now the priest H3548 of Midian H4080 had seven H7651 daughters: H1323 and they came H935 and drew H1802 water , and filled H4390 H853 the troughs H7298 to water H8248 their father's H1 flock. H6629
17 And the shepherds H7462 came H935 and drove them away: H1644 but Moses H4872 stood up H6965 and helped H3467 them , and watered H8248 H853 their flock. H6629
18 And when they came H935 to H413 Reuel H7467 their father, H1 he said, H559 How H4069 is it that ye are come H935 so soon H4116 today H3117 ?
19 And they said, H559 An Egyptian H376 H4713 delivered H5337 us out of the hand H4480 H3027 of the shepherds, H7462 and also H1571 drew water enough H1802 H1802 for us , and watered H8248 H853 the flock. H6629
20 And he said H559 unto H413 his daughters, H1323 And where H346 is he? why H4100 is it H2088 that ye have left H5800 H853 the man H376 ? call H7121 him , that he may eat H398 bread. H3899
21 And Moses H4872 was content H2974 to dwell H3427 with H854 the man: H376 and he gave H5414 Moses H4872 H853 Zipporah H6855 his daughter. H1323
22 And she bore H3205 him a son, H1121 and he called H7121 H853 his name H8034 Gershom: H1648 for H3588 he said, H559 I have been H1961 a stranger H1616 in a strange H5237 land. H776
23 And it came to pass H1961 in process of time H3117 H7227, H1992 that the king H4428 of Egypt H4714 died: H4191 and the children H1121 of Israel H3478 sighed H584 by reason of H4480 the bondage, H5656 and they cried, H2199 and their cry H7775 came up H5927 unto H413 God H430 by reason of H4480 the bondage. H5656
24 And God H430 heard H8085 H853 their groaning, H5009 and God H430 remembered H2142 H853 his covenant H1285 with H854 Abraham, H85 with H854 Isaac, H3327 and with H854 Jacob. H3290
25 And God H430 looked upon H7200 H853 the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and God H430 had respect H3045 unto them .
