1 അതിന്റെശേഷം മോശെയും അഹരോനും ചെന്നു ഫറവോനോടു: മരുഭൂമിയിൽ എനിക്കു ഉത്സവം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടയക്കേണം എന്നിപ്രകാരം യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2 അതിന്നു ഫറവോൻ: യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിട്ടയപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ആർ? ഞാൻ യഹോവയെ അറികയില്ല; ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിട്ടയക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
3 അതിന്നു അവർ: എബ്രായരുടെ ദൈവം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായ്‍വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ മഹാമാരിയാലോ വാളാലോ ഞങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി മരുഭൂമിയിൽ പോയി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു അവരോടു: മോശേ, അഹരോനേ, നിങ്ങൾ ജനങ്ങളെ വേല മിനക്കെടുത്തുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഊഴിയ വേലെക്കു പോകുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5 ദേശത്തു ജനം ഇപ്പോൾ വളരെ ആകുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ അവരുടെ ഊഴിയവേല മിനക്കെടുത്തുന്നു എന്നും ഫറവോൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
6 അന്നു ഫറവോൻ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഊഴിയ വിചാരകന്മാരോടും പ്രമാണികളോടും കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:
7 ഇഷ്ടിക ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാൻ ജനത്തിന്നു മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ഇനി വൈക്കോൽ കൊടുക്കരുതു; അവർ തന്നേ പോയി വൈക്കോൽ ശേഖരിക്കട്ടെ.
8 എങ്കിലും ഇഷ്ടികയുടെ കണക്കു മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ അവരുടെ മേൽ ചുമത്തേണം; ഒട്ടും കുറെക്കരുതു. അവർ മടിയന്മാർ; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾ പോയി ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നതു.
9 അവരുടെ വേല അതിഭാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവർ അതിൽ കഷ്ടപ്പെടട്ടെ;
10 അവരുടെ വ്യാജവാക്കുകൾ കേൾക്കരുതു. അങ്ങനെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഊഴിയവിചാരകന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും ചെന്നു ജനത്തോടു: നിങ്ങൾക്കു വൈക്കോൽ തരികയില്ല,
11 നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ പോയി കിട്ടുന്നേടത്തുനിന്നു വൈക്കോൽ ശേഖരിപ്പിൻ; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ വേലയിൽ ഒട്ടും കുറെക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഫറവോൻ കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
12 അങ്ങനെ ജനം വൈക്കോലിന്നു പകരം താളടി ശേഖരിപ്പാൻ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും ചിതറി നടന്നു.
13 ഊഴിയ വിചാരകന്മാർ അവരെ ഹേമിച്ചു: വൈക്കോൽ കിട്ടിവന്നപ്പോൾ ഉള്ളതിന്നു ശരിയായി നിങ്ങളുടെ നിത്യവേല ദിവസവും തികെക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
14 ഫറവോന്റെ ഊഴിയവിചാരകന്മാർ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളുടെ മേൽ ആക്കിയിരുന്ന പ്രമാണികളെ അടിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്നലെയും ഇന്നും മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ഇഷ്ടിക തികെക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
15 അതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ പ്രാമണികൾ ചെന്നു ഫറവോനോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അടിയങ്ങളോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?
16 അടിയങ്ങൾക്കു വൈക്കോൽ തരാതെ ഇഷ്ടിക ഉണ്ടാക്കുവിൻ എന്നു അവർ പറയുന്നു; അടിയങ്ങളെ തല്ലുന്നു; അതു നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു പാപമാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17 അതിന്നു അവൻ: മടിയന്മാരാകുന്നു നിങ്ങൾ, മടിയന്മാർ; അതുകൊണ്ടു: ഞങ്ങൾ പോയി യഹോവെക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.
18 പോയി വേല ചെയ്‍വിൻ; വൈക്കോൽ തരികയില്ല, ഇഷ്ടിക കണക്കു പോലെ ഏല്പിക്കേണംതാനും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
19 ദിവസംതോറുമുള്ള ഇഷ്ടികക്കണക്കിൽ ഒന്നും കുറെക്കരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ തങ്ങൾ വിഷമത്തിലായി എന്നു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ പ്രാമണികൾ കണ്ടു.
20 അവർ ഫറവോനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ മോശെയും അഹരോനും വഴിയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു,
21 അവരോടു നിങ്ങൾ ഫറവോന്റെയും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ ഞങ്ങളെ നാറ്റി, ഞങ്ങളെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ വാൾ കൊടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ നോക്കി ന്യായം വിധിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
22 അപ്പോൾ മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: കർത്താവേ, നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു ദോഷം വരുത്തിയതു എന്തു? നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചതു എന്തിന്നു?
23 ഞാൻ നിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ സംസാരിപ്പാൻ ഫറവോന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നതുമുതൽ അവൻ ഈ ജനത്തോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ നീ വിടുവിച്ചതുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9 Let there more work be laid H3513 upon H5921 PREP the men H376 D-NMP , that they may labor H6213 therein ; and let them not H408 W-NPAR regard H8159 vain H8267 words H1697 .
10 And the taskmasters H5065 of the people H5971 went out H3318 W-VQY3MP , and their officers H7860 , and they spoke H559 W-VQY3MP to H413 PREP the people H5971 , saying H559 L-VQFC , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS Pharaoh H6547 EMS , I will not H369 give H5414 VQPMS you straw H8401 .
11 Go H1980 VQI2MP ye H859 PPRO-2MS , get H3947 you straw H8401 where H834 ye can find H4672 it : yet H3588 CONJ not H369 NPAR aught H1697 of your work H5656 shall be diminished H1639 .

13 And the taskmasters H5065 hasted H213 them , saying H559 L-VQFC , Fulfill H3615 your works H4639 , your daily H3117 NMS tasks H1697 CMS , as when H834 K-RPRO there was H1961 straw H8401 .
14 And the officers H7860 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 , which H834 RPRO Pharaoh H6547 EMS \'s taskmasters H5065 had set H7760 VQQ3MP over H5921 them , were beaten H5221 , and demanded H559 L-VQFC , Wherefore H4069 IPRO have ye not H3808 NADV fulfilled H3615 your task H2706 in making brick H3835 both H1571 CONJ yesterday H8543 and H1571 CONJ today H3117 D-NMS , as heretofore H8543 ?
15 Then the officers H7860 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 came H935 W-VQY3MP and cried H6817 unto H413 PREP Pharaoh H6547 EMS , saying H559 L-VQFC , Wherefore H4100 L-IPRO dealest H6213 thou thus H3541 with thy servants H5650 ?
16 There is no H369 NPAR straw H8401 given H5414 unto thy servants H5650 , and they say H559 to us , Make H6213 brick H3843 : and , behold H2009 IJEC , thy servants H5650 are beaten H5221 ; but the fault H2398 is in thine own people H5971 .
17 But he said H559 W-VQY3MS , Ye H859 PPRO-2MS are idle H7503 , ye are idle H7503 : therefore H3651 ADV ye H859 PPRO-2MS say H559 W-VQY3MS , Let us go H1980 and do sacrifice H2076 to the LORD H3068 L-NAME-4MS .
18 Go H1980 VQI2MP therefore now H6258 W-ADV , and work H5647 ; for there shall no H3808 NADV straw H8401 be given H5414 you , yet shall ye deliver H5414 the tale H8506 of bricks H3843 NMP .
19 And the officers H7860 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 did see H7200 W-VQY3MP that they were in evil H7451 case , after it was said H559 L-VQFC , Ye shall not H3808 NADV minish H1639 aught from your bricks H3843 of your daily H3117 NMS task H1697 CMS .
20 And they met H6293 Moses H4872 and Aaron H175 , who stood H5324 in the way H7125 , as they came forth H3318 from Pharaoh H6547 EMS :
21 And they said H559 W-VQY3MP unto H413 PREP-3MS them , The LORD H3068 EDS look H7200 VQI3MS upon H5921 PREP-2MP you , and judge H8199 ; because H834 RPRO ye have made our savor H7381 to be abhorred H887 in the eyes H5869 B-CMP of Pharaoh H6547 EMS , and in the eyes H5869 of his servants H5650 , to put H5414 a sword H2719 GFS in their hand H3027 to slay H2026 us .
