1 താന്‍ യാക്കോബിന്നു മക്കളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു റാഹേല്‍ കണ്ടു തന്റെ സഹോദരിയോടു അസൂയപ്പെട്ടു യാക്കോബിനോടുഎനിക്കു മക്കളെ തരേണം; അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഞാന്‍ മരിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2 അപ്പോള്‍ യാക്കോബിന്നു റാഹേലിനോടു കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചുനിനക്കു ഗര്‍ഭഫലം തരാതിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്തോ ഞാന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3 അതിന്നു അവള്‍ എന്റെ ദാസി ബില്‍ഹാ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവളുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചെല്ലുക; അവള്‍ എന്റെ മടിയില്‍ പ്രസവിക്കട്ടെ; അവളാല്‍ എനിക്കും മക്കള്‍ ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4 അങ്ങനെ അവള്‍ തന്റെ ദാസി ബില്‍ഹയെ അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു; യാക്കോബ് അവളുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചെന്നു.

5 ബില്‍ഹാ ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചു യാക്കേബിന്നു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

6 അപ്പോള്‍ റാഹേല്‍ദൈവം എനിക്കു ന്യായം നടത്തി എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു എനിക്കു ഒരു മകനെ തന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതു കൊണ്ടു അവന്നു ദാന്‍ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

7 റാഹേലിന്റെ ദാസി ബില്‍ഹാ പിന്നെയും ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചു യാക്കോബിന്നു രണ്ടാമതൊരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

8 ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ സഹോദരിയോടു വലിയോരു പോര്‍ പൊരുതു ജയിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു റാഹേല്‍ പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു നഫ്താലി എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

9 തനിക്കു പ്രസവം നിന്നുപോയി എന്നു ലേയാ കണ്ടാറെ തന്റെ ദാസി സില്പയെ വിളിച്ചു അവളെ യാക്കോബിന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു.

10 ലേയയുടെ ദാസി സില്പാ യാക്കോബിന്നു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

11 അപ്പോള്‍ ലേയാഭാഗ്യം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ഗാദ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

12 ലേയയുടെ ദാസി സില്പാ യാക്കോബിന്നു രണ്ടാമതു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

13 ഞാന്‍ ഭാഗ്യവതി; സ്ത്രികള്‍ എന്നെ ഭാഗ്യവതിയെന്നു പറയും എന്നു ലേയാ പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ആശേര്‍ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

14 കോതമ്പുകൊയിത്തുകാലത്തു രൂബേന്‍ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വയലില്‍ ദൂദായിപ്പഴം കണ്ടു തന്റെ അമ്മയായ ലേയയുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. റാഹേല്‍ ലേയയോടുനിന്റെ മകന്റെ ദൂദായിപ്പഴം കുറെ എനിക്കു തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15 അവള്‍ അവളോടുനീ എന്റെ ഭര്‍ത്താവിനെ എടുത്തതു പോരയോ? എന്റെ മകന്റെ ദൂദായിപ്പഴവും കൂടെ വേണമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു റാഹേല്‍ആകട്ടെ; നിന്റെ മകന്റെ ദൂദായിപ്പഴത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഇന്നു രാത്രി അവന്‍ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചുകൊള്ളട്ടേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16 യാക്കോബ് വൈകുന്നേരം വയലില്‍നിന്നു വരുമ്പോള്‍ ലേയാ അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നുനീ എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വരേണം; എന്റെ മകന്റെ ദൂദായിപ്പഴം കൊണ്ടു ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ കൂലിക്കു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അന്നു രാത്രി അവന്‍ അവളോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചു.

17 ദൈവം ലേയയുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു; അവള്‍ ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചു യാക്കോബിന്നു അഞ്ചാമതു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.

18 അപ്പോള്‍ ലേയാഞാന്‍ എന്റെ ദാസിയെ എന്റെ ഭര്‍ത്താവിന്നു കൊടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവം എനിക്കു കൂലി തന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു യിസ്സാഖാര്‍ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

19 ലേയാ പിന്നെയും ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചു, യാക്കോബിന്നു ആറാമതു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു;

20 ദൈവം എനിക്കു ഒരു നല്ലദാനം തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇപ്പോള്‍ എന്റെ ഭര്‍ത്താവു എന്നോടുകൂടെ വസിക്കും; ഞാന്‍ അവന്നു ആറു മക്കളെ പ്രസവിച്ചുവല്ലോ എന്നു ലേയാ പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു സെബൂലൂന്‍ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

21 അതിന്റെ ശേഷം അവള്‍ ഒരു മകളെ പ്രസവിച്ചു അവള്‍ക്കു ദീനാ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

22 ദൈവം റാഹേലിനെ ഔര്‍ത്തു; ദൈവം അവളുടെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു അവളുടെ ഗര്‍ഭത്തെ തുറന്നു.

23 അവള്‍ ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; ദൈവം എന്റെ നിന്ദ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24 യഹോവ എനിക്കു ഇനിയും ഒരു മകനെ തരുമെന്നും പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു യോസേഫ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

25 റാഹേല്‍ യോസേഫിനെ പ്രസവിച്ചശേഷം യാക്കോബ് ലാബാനോടുഞാന്‍ എന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കും ദേശത്തേക്കും പോകുവാന്‍ എന്നെ അയക്കേണം.

26 ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ സേവിച്ചതിന്റെ പ്രതിഫലമായ എന്റെ ഭാര്യമാരേയും മക്കളെയും എനിക്കു തരേണം; ഞാന്‍ പോകട്ടെ; ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ സേവിച്ച സേവ നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27 ലാബാന്‍ അവനോടുനിനക്കു എന്നോടു ദയ ഉണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ പോകരുതേ; നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം യഹോവ എന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു എന്നു എനിക്കു ബോദ്ധ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

28 നിനക്കു എന്തു പ്രതിഫലം വേണം എന്നു പറക; ഞാന്‍ തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29 അവന്‍ അവനോടുഞാന്‍ നിന്നെ എങ്ങനെ സേവിച്ചു എന്നും നിന്റെ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൂട്ടം എന്റെ പക്കല്‍ എങ്ങനെ ഇരുന്നു എന്നും നീ അറിയുന്നു.

30 ഞാന്‍ വരുംമുമ്പെ നിനക്കു അല്പമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു; ഇപ്പോള്‍ അതു അത്യന്തം വര്‍ദ്ധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന്‍ കാല്‍ വെച്ചേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇനി എന്റെ സ്വന്തഭവനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാന്‍ എപ്പോള്‍ കരുതും എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു.

31 ഞാന്‍ നിനക്കു എന്തു തരേണം എന്നു അവന്‍ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു യാക്കോബ് പറഞ്ഞതുനീ ഒന്നും തരേണ്ടാ; ഈ കാര്യം നീ ചെയ്തുതന്നാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിന്റെ ആട്ടിന്‍ കൂട്ടത്തെ ഇനിയും മേയിച്ചു പാലിക്കാം.

32 ഞാന്‍ ഇന്നു നിന്റെ എല്ലാ കൂട്ടങ്ങളിലും കൂടി കടന്നു, അവയില്‍നിന്നു പുള്ളിയും മറുവുമുള്ള ആടുകളെ ഒക്കെയും ചെമ്മരിയാടുകളില്‍ കറുത്തതിനെയൊക്കെയും കോലാടുകളില്‍ പുള്ളിയും മറുവുമുള്ളതിനെയും വേര്‍തിരിക്കാം; അതു എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

33 നാളെ ഒരിക്കല്‍ എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം സംബന്ധിച്ചു നീ നോക്കുവാന്‍ വരുമ്പോള്‍ എന്റെ നീതി തെളിവായിരിക്കും; കോലാടുകളില്‍ പുള്ളിയും മറുവുമില്ലാത്തതും ചെമ്മരിയാടുകളില്‍ കറുത്തനിറമില്ലാത്തതും എല്ലാം മോഷ്ടിച്ചതായി എണ്ണാം.

34 അതിന്നു ലാബാന്‍ നീ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ആകട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

35 അന്നു തന്നേ അവന്‍ വരയും മറുവുമുള്ള മുട്ടാടുകളെയും പുള്ളിയും മറുവുമുള്ള പെണ്‍കോലാടുകളെ ഒക്കെയും വെണ്മയുള്ളതിനെ ഒക്കെയും ചെമ്മരിയാടുകളില്‍ കറുത്തനിറമുള്ളതിനെ ഒക്കെയും വേര്‍തിരിച്ചു അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില്‍ ഏല്പിച്ചു.

36 അവന്‍ തനിക്കും യാക്കോബിന്നും ഇടയില്‍ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തെ വഴിയകലം വെച്ചു; ലാബാന്റെ ശേഷമുള്ള ആട്ടിന്‍ കൂട്ടങ്ങളെ യാക്കോബ് മേയിച്ചു.

37 എന്നാല്‍ യാക്കോബ് പുന്നവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെയും ബദാംവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെയും അരിഞ്ഞില്‍വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെയും പച്ചക്കൊമ്പുകളെ എടുത്തു അവയില്‍ വെള്ള കാണത്തക്കവണ്ണം വെള്ളവരയായി തോലുരിച്ചു.

38 ആടുകള്‍ കുടിപ്പാന്‍ വന്നപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ , താന്‍ തോലുരിച്ച കൊമ്പുകളെ പാത്തികളിലും വെള്ളം പകരുന്ന തൊട്ടികളിലും ആടുകളുടെ മുമ്പില്‍ വെച്ചു; അവ വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പാന്‍ വന്നപ്പോള്‍ ചനയേറ്റു.

39 ആടുകള്‍ കൊമ്പുകളെ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടു ചനയേറ്റു വരയും പുള്ളിയും മറുവുമുള്ള കുട്ടികളെ പെറ്റു.

40 ആ ആട്ടിന്‍ കുട്ടികളെ യാക്കോബ് വേര്‍തിരിച്ചു ആടുകളെ ലാബാന്റെ ആടുകളില്‍ വരയും മറുവുമുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിന്നും അഭിമുഖമായി നിര്‍ത്തി; തന്റെ സ്വന്തകൂട്ടങ്ങളെ ലാബാന്റെ ആടുകളോടു ചേര്‍ക്കാതെ വേറെയാക്കി.

41 ബലമുള്ള ആടുകള്‍ ചനയേലക്കുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും കൊമ്പുകളെ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടു ചനയേല്‍ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യാക്കോബ് ആ കൊമ്പുകളെ പാത്തികളില്‍ ആടുകളുടെ കണ്ണിന്നു മുമ്പില്‍ വെച്ചു.

42 ബലമില്ലാത്ത ആടുകള്‍ ചനയേലക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവയെ വെച്ചില്ല; അങ്ങനെ ബലമില്ലാത്തവ ലാബാന്നും ബലമുള്ളവ യാക്കോബിന്നും ആയിത്തീര്‍ന്നു.

43 അവന്‍ മഹാസമ്പന്നനായി അവന്നു വളരെ ആടുകളും ദാസീദാസന്മാരും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളും കഴുതകളും ഉണ്ടാകയും ചെയ്തു.

27 And Laban ^H3837 said ^H559 unto ^H413 him , I pray thee, ^H4994 if ^H518 I have found ^H4672 favor ^H2580 in thine eyes, ^H5869 tarry: for I have learned by experience ^H5172 that the LORD ^H3068 hath blessed ^H1288 me for thy sake. ^H1558

28 And he said, ^H559 Appoint ^H5344 ^H5921 me thy wages, ^H7939 and I will give ^H5414 it .

29 And he said ^H559 unto ^H413 him, Thou ^H859 knowest ^H3045 ^H853 how ^H834 I have served ^H5647 thee , and how ^H834 thy cattle ^H4735 was ^H1961 with ^H854 me.

30 For ^H3588 it was little ^H4592 which ^H834 thou hadst ^H1961 before ^H6440 I came , and it is now increased ^H6555 unto a multitude; ^H7230 and the LORD ^H3068 hath blessed ^H1288 thee since my coming: ^H7272 and now ^H6258 when ^H4970 shall I ^H595 provide ^H6213 for mine own house ^H1004 also ^H1571 ?

31 And he said, ^H559 What ^H4100 shall I give ^H5414 thee? And Jacob ^H3290 said, ^H559 Thou shalt not ^H3808 give ^H5414 me any thing: ^H3972 if ^H518 thou wilt do ^H6213 this ^H2088 thing ^H1697 for me , I will again ^H7725 feed ^H7462 and keep ^H8104 thy flock: ^H6629

35 And he removed ^H5493 that ^H1931 day ^H3117 ^H853 the he goats ^H8495 that were ringstreaked ^H6124 and spotted, ^H2921 and all ^H3605 the she goats ^H5795 that were speckled ^H5348 and spotted, ^H2921 and every one ^H3605 that ^H834 had some white ^H3836 in it , and all ^H3605 the brown ^H2345 among the sheep, ^H3775 and gave ^H5414 them into the hand ^H3027 of his sons. ^H1121
