1 ആ കാലത്തു ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു മരിക്കത്തക്ക രോഗം പിടിച്ചു; ആമോസിന്റെ മകനായ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്‍ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നു അവനോടുനിന്റെ ഗൃഹകാര്യം ക്രമത്തിലാക്കുക; നീ മരിച്ചുപോകും; സൌഖ്യമാകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2 അപ്പോള്‍ ഹിസ്കീയാവു മുഖം ചുവരിന്റെ നേരെ തിരിച്ചു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു
3 അയ്യോ, യഹോവേ, ഞാന്‍ വിശ്വസ്തതയോടും ഏകാഗ്രഹൃദയത്തോടും കൂടെ തിരുമുമ്പില്‍ നടന്നു നിനക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഔര്‍ക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ഹിസ്കീയാവു ഏറ്റവും കരഞ്ഞു.
4 എന്നാല്‍ യെശയ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്‍
5 നീ ചെന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവോടു പറയേണ്ടതുനിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന്‍ നിന്റെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന കേട്ടു നിന്റെ കണ്ണുനിര്‍ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാന്‍ നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സിനോടു പതിനഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം കൂട്ടും.
6 ഞാന്‍ നിന്നെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും അശ്ശൂര്‍രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും; ഈ നഗരത്തെ ഞാന്‍ കാത്തുരക്ഷിക്കും.
7 യഹോവ, താന്‍ അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ഈ കാര്യം നിവര്‍ത്തിക്കും എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ പക്കല്‍നിന്നു ഇതു നിനക്കു ഒരു അടയാളം ആകും.
8 ആഹാസിന്റെ ഘടികാരത്തില്‍ സൂര്യഗതി അനുസരിച്ചു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്ന നിഴലിനെ ഞാന്‍ പത്തു പടി പിന്നോക്കം തിരിയുമാറാക്കും; ഇങ്ങനെ സൂര്യന്‍ ഘടികാരത്തില്‍ ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരുന്ന പത്തു പടി തിരിഞ്ഞു പോന്നു.
9 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്നു രോഗം പിടിച്ചിട്ടു അതു മാറി സുഖമായ ശേഷം അവന്‍ എഴുതിയ എഴുത്തു
10 എന്റെ ആയുസ്സിന്‍ മദ്ധ്യാഹ്നത്തില്‍ ഞാന്‍ പാതാളവാതിലകം പൂകേണ്ടിവരുന്നു; എന്റെ ആണ്ടുകളുടെ ശേഷിപ്പും എനിക്കില്ലാതെ പോയി എന്നു ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
11 ഞാന്‍ യഹോവയെ, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു യഹോവയെ കാണുകയില്ല; ഞാന്‍ ഭൂവാസികളുടെ ഇടയില്‍വെച്ചു ഇനി മനുഷ്യനെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
12 എന്റെ പാര്‍പ്പിടം നീങ്ങി ഒരു ഇടയക്കൂടാരം പോലെ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; നെയ്ത്തുകാരന്‍ തുണി ചുരുട്ടുംപോലെ ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ ജീവനെ ചുരുട്ടിവെക്കുന്നു; അവന്‍ എന്നെ പാവില്‍നിന്നു അറുത്തുകളയുന്നു; ഒരു രാപകല്‍ കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ നീ എനിക്കു അന്തംവരുത്തുന്നു.
13 ഉഷസ്സുവരെ ഞാന്‍ എന്നെത്തന്നേ അടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവനോ സിംഹംപോലെ എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ എല്ലാം തകര്‍ത്തുകളയുന്നു; ഒരു രാപകല്‍ കഴിയുംമുമ്പെ നീ എനിക്കു അന്തം വരുത്തുന്നു.
14 മീവല്‍പക്ഷിയോ കൊക്കോ എന്ന പോലെ ഞാന്‍ ചിലെച്ചു; ഞാന്‍ പ്രാവുപോലെ കുറുകി എന്റെ കണ്ണു ഉയരത്തിലേക്കു നോക്കി ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവേ ഞാന്‍ ഞെരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എനിക്കു ഇട നില്‍ക്കേണമേ.
15 ഞാന്‍ എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? അവന്‍ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു, അവന്‍ തന്നേ നിവര്‍ത്തിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ മനോവ്യസനം ഹേതുവായി ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ കാലമൊക്കെയും സാവധാനത്തോടെ നടക്കും.
16 കര്‍ത്താവേ, അതിനാല്‍ മനുഷ്യര്‍ ജീവിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ജീവനും കേവലം അതിലത്രേ; അങ്ങനെ നീ എന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി എന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.
17 സമാധാനത്തിന്നായി എനിക്കു അത്യന്തം കൈപ്പായതു ഭവിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നീ എന്റെ സകലപാപങ്ങളെയും നിന്റെ പിറകില്‍ എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നാശകൂഴിയില്‍നിന്നു സ്നേഹത്തോടെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
18 പാതാളം നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നില്ല; മരണം നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നില്ല; കുഴിയില്‍ ഇറങ്ങുന്നവര്‍ നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തതയെ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
19 ഞാന്‍ ഇന്നു ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ ജീവനുള്ളവന്‍ , ജീവനുള്ളവന്‍ മാത്രം നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കും; അപ്പന്‍ മക്കളോടു നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തയെ അറിയിക്കും.
20 യഹോവ എന്നെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള്‍ ജീവപര്യന്തം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില്‍ തന്ത്രിനാദത്തോടെ എന്റെ ഗീതങ്ങളെ പാടും.
21 എന്നാല്‍ അവന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു അത്തിപ്പഴക്കട്ട കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പരുവിന്മേല്‍ പുരട്ടുവാന്‍ യെശയ്യാവു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.
22 ഞാന്‍ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില്‍ കയറിച്ചെല്ലും എന്നതിന്നു അടയാളം എന്തു എന്നു ഹിസ്കീയാവു ചോദിച്ചിരുന്നു.

2 Then Hezekiah H2396 turned H5437 his face H6440 toward H413 the wall, H7023 and prayed H6419 unto H413 the LORD, H3068
3 And said, H559 Remember H2142 now, H4994 O LORD, H3068 I beseech thee, H577 H853 how H834 I have walked H1980 before H6440 thee in truth H571 and with a perfect H8003 heart, H3820 and have done H6213 that which is good H2896 in thy sight. H5869 And Hezekiah H2396 wept H1058 sore H1419 H1065 .
4 Then came H1961 the word H1697 of the LORD H3068 to H413 Isaiah, H3470 saying, H559
5 Go H1980 , and say H559 to H413 Hezekiah, H2396 Thus H3541 saith H559 the LORD, H3068 the God H430 of David H1732 thy father, H1 I have heard H8085 H853 thy prayer, H8605 I have seen H7200 H853 thy tears: H1832 behold, H2009 I will add H3254 unto H5921 thy days H3117 fifteen H2568 H6240 years. 6 And I will deliver H5337 thee and this H2063 city H5892 out of the hand H4480 H3709 of the king H4428 of Assyria: H804 and I will defend H1598 H5921 this H2063 city. H5892
7 And this H2088 shall be a sign H226 unto thee from H4480 H854 the LORD, H3068 that H834 the LORD H3068 will do H6213 H853 this H2088 thing H1697 that H834 he hath spoken; H1696
8 Behold H2009 , I will bring again H7725 H853 the shadow H6738 of the degrees, H4609 which H834 is gone down H3381 in the sun H8121 dial H4609 of Ahaz, H271 ten H6235 degrees H4609 backward. H322 So the sun H8121 returned H7725 ten H6235 degrees, H4609 by which H834 degrees H4609 it was gone down. H3381
9 The writing H4385 of Hezekiah H2396 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 when he had been sick, H2470 and was recovered H2421 of his sickness H4480 H2483 :
10 I H589 said H559 in the cutting off H1824 of my days, H3117 I shall go H1980 to the gates H8179 of the grave: H7585 I am deprived H6485 of the residue H3499 of my years. H8141
11 I said, H559 I shall not H3808 see H7200 the LORD, H3050 even the LORD, H3050 in the land H776 of the living: H2416 I shall behold H5027 man H120 no H3808 more H5750 with H5973 the inhabitants H3427 of the world. H2309
12 Mine age H1755 is departed, H5265 and is removed H1540 from H4480 me as a shepherd's H7473 tent: H168 I have cut off H7088 like a weaver H707 my life: H2416 he will cut me off H1214 with pining sickness H4480 H1803 : from day H4480 H3117 even to H5704 night H3915 wilt thou make an end H7999 of me.
13 I reckoned H7737 till H5704 morning, H1242 that , as a lion, H738 so H3651 will he break H7665 all H3605 my bones: H6106 from day H4480 H3117 even to H5704 night H3915 wilt thou make an end H7999 of me.
14 Like a crane H5483 or a swallow, H5693 so H3651 did I chatter: H6850 I did mourn H1897 as a dove: H3123 mine eyes H5869 fail H1809 with looking upward: H4791 O LORD, H136 I am oppressed; H6234 undertake H6149 for me.
15 What H4100 shall I say H1696 ? he hath both spoken H559 unto me , and himself H1931 hath done H6213 it : I shall go softly H1718 all H3605 my years H8141 in H5921 the bitterness H4751 of my soul. H5315
16 O Lord, H136 by H5921 these things men live, H2421 and in all H3605 these H2004 things is the life H2416 of my spirit: H7307 so wilt thou recover H2492 me , and make me to live. H2421
17 Behold H2009 , for peace H7965 I had great bitterness H4751 H4843 : but thou H859 hast in love H2836 to my soul H5315 delivered it from the pit H4480 H7845 of corruption: H1097 for H3588 thou hast cast H7993 all H3605 my sins H2399 behind H310 thy back. H1460
18 For H3588 the grave H7585 cannot H3808 praise H3034 thee, death H4194 can not celebrate H1984 thee : they that go down H3381 into the pit H953 cannot H3808 hope H7663 for H413 thy truth. H571
19 The living, H2416 the living, H2416 he H1931 shall praise H3034 thee , as I do this day: H3117 the father H1 to the children H1121 shall make known H3045 H413 thy truth. H571
20 The LORD H3068 was ready to save H3467 me : therefore we will sing my songs H5059 to the stringed instruments H5058 all H3605 the days H3117 of our life H2416 in H5921 the house H1004 of the LORD. H3068
21 For Isaiah H3470 had said, H559 Let them take H5375 a lump H1690 of figs, H8384 and lay it for a plaster H4799 upon H5921 the boil, H7822 and he shall recover. H2421
22 Hezekiah H2396 also had said, H559 What H4100 is the sign H226 that H3588 I shall go up H5927 to the house H1004 of the LORD H3068 ?
