1 ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ പ്രിയതമന്നു അവന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു എന്റെ പ്രിയന്റെ പാട്ടുപാടും; എന്റെ പ്രിയതമന്നു ഏറ്റവും ഫലവത്തായോരു കുന്നിന്മേല്‍ ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

2 അവന്‍ അതിന്നു വേലി കെട്ടി, അതിലെ കല്ലു പെറുക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു, അതില്‍ നല്ലവക മുന്തിരിവള്ളി നട്ടു, നടുവില്‍ ഒരു ഗോപുരം പണിതു, ഒരു ചക്കും ഇട്ടു, മുന്തിരിങ്ങ കായക്കും എന്നു അവന്‍ കാത്തിരുന്നു; കായിച്ചതോ കാട്ടുമുന്തിരിങ്ങയത്രേ.

3 ആകയാല്‍ യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളും യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരും ആയുള്ളോരേ, എനിക്കും എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ വിധിപ്പിന്‍ .

4 ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തില്‍ ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളതല്ലാതെ ഇനി അതില്‍ എന്തു ചെയ്‍വാനുള്ളു? മുന്തിരിങ്ങ കായക്കുമെന്നു ഞാന്‍ കാത്തിരുന്നാറെ അതു കാട്ടുമുന്തിരിങ്ങ കായിച്ചതു എന്തു? ആകയാല്‍ വരുവിന്‍ ;

5 ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കാം; ഞാന്‍ അതിന്റെ വേലി പൊളിച്ചുകളയും; അതു തിന്നു പോകും; ഞാന്‍ അതിന്റെ മതില്‍ ഇടിച്ചുകളയും; അതു ചവിട്ടി മെതിച്ചുപോകും.

6 ഞാന്‍ അതിനെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും; അതു വള്ളിത്തല മുറിക്കാതെയും കിളെക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കും; പറക്കാരയും മുള്ളും അതില്‍ മുളെക്കും; അതില്‍ മഴ പെയ്യിക്കരുതെന്നു ഞാന്‍ മേഘങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കും.

7 സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം യിസ്രായേല്‍ ഗൃഹവും അവന്റെ മനോഹരമായ നടുതല യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരും ആകുന്നു; അവന്‍ ന്യായത്തിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ ഇതാ, അന്യായം! നീതിക്കായി നോക്കിയിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ ഇതാ ഭീതി!

8 തങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രം ദേശമദ്ധ്യേ പാര്‍ക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം മറ്റാര്‍ക്കും സ്ഥലം ഇല്ലാതാകുവോളവും വീടോടു വീടു ചേര്‍ക്കുംകയും വയലോടു വയല്‍ കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

9 ഞാന്‍ കേള്‍ക്കെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുവലിയതും നല്ലതുമായിരിക്കുന്ന പല വീടുകളും ആള്‍ പാര്‍പ്പില്ലാതെ ശൂന്യമാകും നിശ്ചയം.

10 പത്തു കാണി മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു ബത്തും ഒരു ഹോമര്‍ വിത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു ഏഫയും മാത്രം കിട്ടും.

11 അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു മദ്യം തേടി ഔടുകയും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു മത്തരായി സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു വൈകി ഇരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

12 അവരുടെ വിരുന്നുകളില്‍ കിന്നരവും വീണയും തപ്പും കുഴലും വീഞ്ഞും ഉണ്ടു; എന്നാല്‍ യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ അവര്‍ നോക്കുന്നില്ല, അവന്റെ കൈവേലയെ വിചാരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

13 അങ്ങനെ എന്റെ ജനം അറിവില്ലായ്കയാല്‍ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; അവരുടെ മാന്യന്മാര്‍ പട്ടിണികിടക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ജനസമൂഹം ദാഹത്താല്‍ വരണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.

14 അതുകൊണ്ടു പാതാളം തൊണ്ട തുറന്നു, വിസ്താരമായി വായ് പിളര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ മഹിമയും ആരവവും ഘോഷവും അവയില്‍ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നവരും അതിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു.

15 അങ്ങനെ മനുഷ്യന്‍ കുനിയുകയും പുരുഷന്‍ വണങ്ങുകയും നിഗളികളുടെ കണ്ണു താഴുകയും ചെയ്യും.

16 എന്നാല്‍ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ന്യായവിധിയില്‍ ഉന്നതനായിരിക്കയും പരിശുദ്ധദൈവം നീതിയില്‍ തന്നെത്താന്‍ പരിശുദ്ധനായി കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

17 അപ്പോള്‍ കുഞ്ഞാടുകള്‍ മേച്ചല്‍പുറത്തെന്നപോലെ മേയും; പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരുടെ ശൂന്യപ്രദേശങ്ങളെ സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ അനുഭവിക്കും.

18 വ്യാജപാശംകൊണ്ടു അകൃത്യത്തെയും വണ്ടിക്കയറുകൊണ്ടു എന്നപോലെ പാപത്തെയും വലിക്കയും

19 അവന്‍ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ വേഗത്തില്‍ നിവര്‍ത്തിക്കട്ടെ; കാണാമല്ലോ; യിസ്രായേലിന്‍ പരിശുദ്ധന്റെ ആലോചന അടുത്തുവരട്ടെ; നമുക്കു അറിയാമല്ലോ എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

20 തിന്മെക്കു നന്മ എന്നും നന്മെക്കു തിന്മ എന്നും പേര്‍ പറകയും ഇരുട്ടിനെ വെളിച്ചവും വെളിച്ചത്തെ ഇരുട്ടും ആക്കുകയും കൈപ്പിനെ മധുരവും മധുരത്തെ കൈപ്പും ആക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

21 തങ്ങള്‍ക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനികളായും തങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തന്നേ വിവേകികളായും തോന്നുന്നവര്‍ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

22 വീഞ്ഞു കുടിപ്പാന്‍ വീരന്മാരും മദ്യം കലര്‍ത്തുവാന്‍ ശൂരന്മാരും ആയുള്ളവര്‍ക്കും

23 സമ്മാനംനിമിത്തം ദുഷ്ടനെ നീതീകരിക്കയും നീതിമാന്റെ നീതിയെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍ക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

24 അതുകൊണ്ടു തീനാവു താളടിയെ തിന്നുകളകയും വൈക്കോല്‍ ജ്വാലയാല്‍ ദഹിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ അവരുടെ വേരു കെട്ടുപോകും; അവരുടെ പുഷ്പം പൊടിപോലെ പറന്നു പോകും; അവര്‍ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, യിസ്രായേലിന്‍ പരിശുദ്ധന്റെ വചനത്തെ നിന്ദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

25 അതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിക്കും; അവന്‍ അവരുടെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി അവരെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും; അപ്പോള്‍ മലകള്‍ വിറെക്കയും അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങള്‍ വീഥികളുടെ നടുവില്‍ ചവറുപോലെ ആയിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും; ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.

26 അവന്‍ ദൂരത്തുള്ള ജാതികള്‍ക്കു ഒരു കൊടി, ഉയര്‍ത്തി, ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നു അവരെ ചൂളകുത്തിവിളിക്കും; അവര്‍ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു വേഗത്തില്‍ വരും.

27 അവരില്‍ ഒരുത്തനും ക്ഷീണിക്കയോ ഇടറുകയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല; ഒരുത്തനും ഉറക്കം തൂങ്ങുകയില്ല, ഉറങ്ങുകയുമില്ല; അവരുടെ അരക്കച്ച അഴികയില്ല, ചെരിപ്പുവാറു പൊട്ടുകയുമില്ല.

28 അവരുടെ അമ്പു കൂര്‍ത്തും വില്ലു എല്ലാം കുലെച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കുതിരകളുടെ കുളമ്പു തീക്കല്ലുപോലെയും അവരുടെ രഥചക്രം ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുപോലെയും തോന്നും.

29 അവരുടെ ഗര്‍ജ്ജനം സിംഹത്തിന്റേതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കും; അവര്‍ ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഗര്‍ജ്ജിക്കും; അവര്‍ അലറി, ഇരപിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; ആരും വിടുവിക്കയും ഇല്ല.

30 അന്നാളില്‍ അവര്‍ കടലിന്റെ അലര്‍ച്ചപോലെ അവരുടെ നേരെ അലറും; ദേശത്തു നോക്കിയാല്‍ ഇതാ, അന്ധകാരവും കഷ്ടതയും തന്നേ; അതിന്റെ മേഘങ്ങളില്‍ വെളിച്ചം ഇരുണ്ടുപോകും.

11 Woe ^H1945 unto them that rise up early ^H7925 in the morning, ^H1242 that they may follow ^H7291 strong drink; ^H7941 that continue ^H309 until night, ^H5399 till wine ^H3196 inflame ^H1814 them!

12 And the harp, ^H3658 and the viol, ^H5035 the tabret, ^H8596 and pipe, ^H2485 and wine, ^H3196 are ^H1961 in their feasts: ^H4960 but they regard ^H5027 not ^H3808 the work ^H6467 of the LORD, ^H3068 neither ^H3808 consider ^H7200 the operation ^H4639 of his hands. ^H3027

30 And in that ^H1931 day ^H3117 they shall roar ^H5098 against ^H5921 them like the roaring ^H5100 of the sea: ^H3220 and if one look ^H5027 unto the land, ^H776 behold ^H2009 darkness ^H2822 and sorrow, ^H6862 and the light ^H216 is darkened ^H2821 in the heavens ^H6183 thereof.
