1 യഹോവയിങ്കല്‍നിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു
2 ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങള്‍ കേട്ടു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളോടും പ്രസ്താവിപ്പിന്‍ .
3 നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്‍യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ നിയമത്തിന്‍ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത മനുഷ്യന്‍ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവന്‍ .
4 അവയെ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അവരെ ഇരിമ്പുചൂളയായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളില്‍ കല്പിച്ചുനിങ്ങള്‍ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചു ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്‍വിന്‍ ; എന്നാല്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ എനിക്കു ജനവും ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ദൈവവും ആയിരിക്കും എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
5 ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്‍ക്കും പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശം കൊടുക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഞാന്‍ അവരോടു ചെയ്ത സത്യം നിവര്‍ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ. അതിന്നു ഞാന്‍ ആമേന്‍ , യഹോവേ, എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
6 അപ്പോള്‍ യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനീ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീഥികളിലും ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും വിളിച്ചുപറകഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടു ചെയ്തുകൊള്‍വിന്‍ .
7 ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീമില്‍നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിലും ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാന്‍ അതികാലത്തും ഇടവിടാതെയും അവരോടുഎന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്‍പ്പിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
8 അവരോ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെവി ചായ്ക്കയും ചെയ്യാതെ ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ താന്താന്റെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടന്നു; ആകയാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ അവരോടു ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ കല്പിച്ചതും അവര്‍ ചെയ്യാതെയിരുന്നതുമായ ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന്‍ അവരുടെ മേല്‍ വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
9 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുയെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളുടെ ഇടയിലും ഒരു കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
10 അവര്‍ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത പൂര്‍വ്വപിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു, അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാന്‍ അവരോടു ചേര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന്‍ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചെയ്ത നിയമം യിസ്രായേല്‍ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
11 അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുവാന്‍ കഴിയാത്ത ഒരനര്‍ത്ഥം ഞാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും വരുത്തും; അവര്‍ എന്നോടു നിലവിളിച്ചാലും ഞാന്‍ കേള്‍ക്കയില്ല.
12 അപ്പോള്‍ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളും ചെന്നു, തങ്ങള്‍ ധൂപം കാട്ടിവന്ന ദേവന്മാരോടു നിലവിളിക്കും; എങ്കിലും അവര്‍ അവരെ അനര്‍ത്ഥകാലത്തു രക്ഷിക്കയില്ല.
13 യെഹൂദയേ, നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിനക്കു ദേവന്മാരുണ്ടു; യെരൂശലേമിലെ വീഥികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിങ്ങള്‍ ആ ലജ്ജാവിഗ്രഹത്തിന്നു ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെ, ബാലിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനുള്ള പീഠങ്ങളെ തന്നേ തീര്‍ത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
14 ആകയാല്‍ നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിക്കരുതു; അവര്‍ക്കും വേണ്ടി യാചനയോ പക്ഷവാദമോ കഴിക്കയുമരുതു; അവര്‍ അനര്‍ത്ഥംനിമിത്തം എന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ കേള്‍ക്കയില്ല.
15 എന്റെ പ്രിയെക്കു എന്റെ ആലയത്തില്‍ എന്തു കാര്യം? അവള്‍ പലരോടുംകൂടെ ദുഷ്കര്‍മ്മം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; വിശുദ്ധമാംസം നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ദോഷം ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ നീ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നു.
16 മനോഹര ഫലങ്ങളാല്‍ ശോഭിതമായ പച്ച ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷം എന്നു യഹോവ നിനക്കു പേര്‍വിളിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ മഹാകോലാഹലത്തോടെ അവന്‍ അതിന്നു തീ വെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളും ഒടിഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്നു.
17 യിസ്രായേല്‍ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ബാലിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടി എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതില്‍ ദോഷം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചിരിക്കയാല്‍ നിന്നെ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അനര്‍ത്ഥം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
18 യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ അതു അറിഞ്ഞു; അന്നു നീ അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ എനിക്കു കാണിച്ചുതന്നു.
19 ഞാനോ അറുപ്പാന്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന മരുക്കമുള്ള കുഞ്ഞാടുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ പേര്‍ ആരും ഔര്‍ക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഫലത്തോടുകൂടെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളക എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ എന്റെ നേരെ ഉപായം നിരൂപിച്ചതു ഞാന്‍ അറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.
20 നീതിയോടെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കയും അന്തരംഗവും ഹൃദയവും ശോധനകഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, നീ അവരോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രതികാരം ഞാന്‍ കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ; ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നിന്നെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
21 അതുകൊണ്ടുനീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യാല്‍ മരിക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില്‍ പ്രവചിക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിനക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാന്‍ നോക്കുന്ന അനാഥോത്തുകാരെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു
22 ഞാന്‍ അവരെ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കും; യൌവനക്കാര്‍ വാള്‍കൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും; അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും.
23 ഞാന്‍ അനാഥോത്തുകാരെ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കുന്ന കാലത്തു അവര്‍ക്കും അനര്‍ത്ഥം വരുത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവരില്‍ ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

8 But they are altogether H259 brutish H1197 and foolish: H3688 the stock H6086 is a doctrine H4148 of vanities. H1892
9 Silver H3701 spread into plates H7554 is brought H935 from Tarshish H4480 H8659 , and gold H2091 from Uphaz H4480 H210 , the work H4639 of the workman, H2796 and of the hands H3027 of the founder: H6884 blue H8504 and purple H713 is their clothing: H3830 they are all H3605 the work H4639 of cunning H2450 men .
10 But the LORD H3068 is the true H571 God, H430 he H1931 is the living H2416 God, H430 and an everlasting H5769 king: H4428 at his wrath H4480 H7110 the earth H776 shall tremble, H7493 and the nations H1471 shall not H3808 be able to abide H3557 his indignation. H2195

15 They H1992 are vanity, H1892 and the work H4639 of errors: H8595 in the time H6256 of their visitation H6486 they shall perish. H6
16 The portion H2506 of Jacob H3290 is not H3808 like them: H428 for H3588 he H1931 is the former H3335 of all H3605 things ; and Israel H3478 is the rod H7626 of his inheritance: H5159 The LORD H3068 of hosts H6635 is his name. H8034
17 Gather up H622 thy wares H3666 out of the land H4480 H776 , O inhabitant H3427 of the fortress. H4693
18 For H3588 thus H3541 saith H559 the LORD, H3068 Behold, H2009 I will sling out H7049 H853 the inhabitants H3427 of the land H776 at this H2063 once, H6471 and will distress H6887 them, that H4616 they may find H4672 it so .

23 O LORD, H3068 I know H3045 that H3588 the way H1870 of man H120 is not H3808 in himself: it is not H3808 in man H376 that walketh H1980 to direct H3559 H853 his steps. H6806
