1 ന്യായം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കയും വിശ്വസ്തത കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന്‍ ഉണ്ടോ? ഒരുത്തനെ കാണുമോ എന്നു യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീഥികളില്‍ ചുറ്റിനടന്നു അന്വേഷിക്കയും അതിന്റെ വിശാലസ്ഥലങ്ങളില്‍ തിരഞ്ഞു അറികയും ചെയ്‍വിന്‍ ; കണ്ടു എങ്കില്‍ ഞാന്‍ അതിനോടു ക്ഷമിക്കും.

2 യഹോവയാണ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലും അവര്‍ കപടമായിട്ടത്രേ സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നതു.

3 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന്‍ ഇവര്‍ അല്പന്മാര്‍, ബുദ്ധിഹീനര്‍ തന്നേ; അവര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ വഴിയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായവും അറിയുന്നില്ല.

4 ഞാന്‍ മഹാന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചെന്നു അവരോടു സംസാരിക്കും; അവര്‍ യഹോവയുടെ വഴിയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായവും അറിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാല്‍ അവരും ഒരുപോലെ നുകം തകര്‍ത്തു കയറു പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

5 അതുകൊണ്ടു കാട്ടില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു സിംഹം വന്നു അവരെ കൊല്ലും; മരുപ്രദേശത്തിലെ ചെന്നായ് അവരെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകും; പുള്ളിപ്പുലി അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങള്‍ക്കെതിരെ പതിയിരിക്കും; അവയില്‍ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും പറിച്ചു കീറിക്കളയും; അവരുടെ അതിക്രമങ്ങള്‍ വളരെയല്ലോ? അവരുടെ പിന്‍ മാറ്റങ്ങളും പെരുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടു ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? നിന്റെ മക്കള്‍ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, ദൈവമല്ലാത്തവയെ ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്തുവരുന്നു; ഞാന്‍ അവരെ പോഷിപ്പിച്ച സമയത്തു അവര്‍ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്കയും വേശ്യാഗൃഹങ്ങളില്‍ കൂട്ടമായി ചെല്ലുകയും ചെയ്തു.

7 തീറ്റിത്തടിപ്പിച്ച കുതിരകളെപ്പോലെ അവര്‍ മദിച്ചുനടന്നു, ഔരോരുത്തന്‍ താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ നോക്കി ചിറാലിക്കുന്നു.

8 ഇവനിമിത്തം ഞാന്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ജാതിയോടു ഞാന്‍ പകരം ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

9 അതിന്റെ മതിലുകളിന്മേല്‍ കയറി നശിപ്പിപ്പിന്‍ ; എങ്കിലും മുടിച്ചുകളയരുതു. അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ നീക്കിക്കളവിന്‍ ; അവ യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവയല്ലല്ലോ.

10 യിസ്രായേല്‍ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും എന്നോടു മഹാദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11 അവര്‍ യഹോവയെ നിഷേധിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുഅതു അവനല്ല; നമുക്കു ദോഷം വരികയില്ല; നാം വാളോ ക്ഷാമമോ കാണുകയുമില്ല.

12 പ്രവാചകന്മാര്‍ കാറ്റായ്തീരും; അവര്‍ക്കും അരുളപ്പാടില്ല; അവര്‍ക്കും അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കട്ടെ.

13 അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള്‍ ഈ വാക്കു പറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു, ഇതാ, ഞാന്‍ നിന്റെ വായില്‍ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ തീയും ഈ ജനത്തെ വിറകും ആക്കും; അവര്‍ അതിന്നു ഇരയായി തീരും.

15 അവരുടെ ആവനാഴി തുറന്ന ശവകൂഴി; അവര്‍ എല്ലാവരും വീരന്മാരത്രേ.

16 നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ഭക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന നിന്റെ വിളവും നിന്റെ ആഹാരവും അവര്‍ ഭക്ഷിച്ചുകളയും; അവര്‍ നിന്റെ ആടുകളെയും കന്നുകാലികളെയും തിന്നുകളയും; അവര്‍ നിന്റെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളികളെയും അത്തിവൃക്ഷങ്ങളെയും തിന്നുകളയും; നീ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളെ അവര്‍ വാള്‍ കൊണ്ടു ശൂന്യമാക്കിക്കളയും.

17 എന്നാല്‍ അന്നാളിലും ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളെ മുടിച്ചുകളകയില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

18 നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇവയൊക്കെയും നമ്മോടു ചെയ്‍വാന്‍ സംഗതി എന്തെന്നു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നീ അവരോടുനിങ്ങള്‍ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തു അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ളതല്ലാത്ത ദേശത്തു നിങ്ങള്‍ അന്യജാതിക്കാരെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടിവരും എന്നുത്തരം പറയേണം.

19 നിങ്ങള്‍ യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തില്‍ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു യെഹൂദയില്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാല്‍

20 കണ്ണു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കാണാതെയും ചെവി ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കേള്‍ക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കുന്ന മൂഢന്മാരും ബുദ്ധിഹീനന്മാരുമായ ജനമേ, ഇതു കേള്‍പ്പിന്‍ !

21 നിങ്ങള്‍ എന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ലയോ? എന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍ വിറെക്കയില്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന്‍ കടലിന്നു കവിഞ്ഞുകൂടാതവണ്ണം നിത്യപ്രമാണമായി മണല്‍ അതിരാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; തിരകള്‍ അലെച്ചാലും സാധിക്കയില്ല; എത്രതന്നേ ഇരെച്ചാലും അതിര്‍ കടക്കയില്ല.

22 ഈ ജനത്തിന്നോ ശാഠ്യവും മത്സരവും ഉള്ളോരു ഹൃദയം ഉണ്ടു; അവര്‍ ശഠിച്ചു പോയ്ക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു

23 മുന്മഴയും പിന്മഴയും ഇങ്ങനെ നമുക്കു അതതു സമയത്തു വേണ്ടു മഴ തരികയും കൊയ്ത്തിന്നുള്ള കാലാവധി പാലിച്ചുതരികയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നാം ഭയപ്പെടുക എന്നു അവര്‍ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ പറയുന്നതുമില്ല.

24 ഇവ മാറിപ്പോകുവാന്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങള്‍ അത്രേ കാരണം; നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളാല്‍ ഈ നന്മെക്കു മുടക്കം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

25 എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില്‍ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ കാണുന്നു; അവര്‍ വേടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര്‍ കുടുക്കുവെച്ചു മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നു.

26 കൂട്ടില്‍ പക്ഷി നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ അവരുടെ വീട്ടില്‍ വഞ്ചന നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ മഹാന്മാരും ധനവാന്മാരും ആയിത്തീര്‍ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

27 അവര്‍ പുഷ്ടിവെച്ചു മിന്നുന്നു; ദുഷ്കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ അവര്‍ കവിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര്‍ അനാഥന്മാര്‍ക്കും ഗുണം വരത്തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തുന്നില്ല; ദരിദ്രന്മാര്‍ക്കും ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യുന്നതുമില്ല.

28 ഇവനിമിത്തം ഞാന്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ജാതിയോടു ഞാന്‍ പകരം ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

29 വിസ്മയവും ഭയങ്കരവുമായുള്ളതു ദേശത്തു സംഭവിക്കുന്നു.

30 പ്രവാചകന്മാര്‍ വ്യാജമായി പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു; പുരോഹിതന്മാരും അവരോടു ഒരു കയ്യായി നിന്നു അധികാരം നടത്തുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നോ അതു ഇഷ്ടം ആകുന്നു; എന്നാല്‍ ഒടുക്കം നിങ്ങള്‍ എന്തു ചെയ്യും.

1 Run ye to and fro ^H7751 through the streets ^H2351 of Jerusalem, ^H3389 and see ^H7200 now, ^H4994 and know, ^H3045 and seek ^H1245 in the broad places ^H7339 thereof, if ^H518 ye can find ^H4672 a man, ^H376 if ^H518 there be ^H3426 any that executeth ^H6213 judgment, ^H4941 that seeketh ^H1245 the truth; ^H530 and I will pardon ^H5545 it.
